Hi, it's Jason Averbrook. I know you may be thinking the world doesn't need another podcast. I agree. But I do believe the world needs a better conversation. A conversation that moves beyond what models being released, which company raised money, which jobs someone thinks will disappear next. Because the important question isn't what AI can do. It's what AI means for people, work, leadership, education, the organizations we're building, and humanity. That's why Jess Von Bank, my co-founder, and I created the edge of now. Jess and I have spent years, many years working with leaders and organizations trying to understand what happens when technology moves faster than the systems, skills, and mindsets that have been built around it. And right now, technology is moving very fast and outpacing organizations and people. It's also why we created Now to Next is a studio. A studio is a place where ideas are tested, disciplines come together, and people make something that didn't exist before. That's what this moment requires. Not another company delivering a fixed answer, a place to research, question, experiment, and create in a social way alongside people who are trying to build what comes next. The Edge of Now is one of those conversations coming out of that studio. We listened. Jess and I won't divide the show into technology perspective and human perspective because I don't think that the two can be separated anymore. We'll bring strong opinions, we'll challenge each other. We almost called it yeah but we won't always agree, but the goal is not to force clean answers into a world that's kind of still changing and unfolding. The goal is that each episode will begin with a few signals from the week. We'll ask four questions What happened? What's the story behind it? What's the human part? And then where is the edge? Where's the edge we should all be thinking about? We'll talk about orchestration, trust, leadership, judgment, productivity, learning. And the goal is together, we'll ask why translators truly, which is what we're trying to be here, will become some of the most valuable people in organizations, why humanities matter more than ever, why giving people access to AI is not the same as changing work, and why a faster task doesn't mean we're creating a better business or a better job. The goal is we're not being optimistic or pessimistic about AI. We're being honest about the choices in front of us. The future of work isn't about something technology decides on its own. It's being shaped by kind of what we do today and the decisions we make about people, purpose, accountability, and value. So no, the world doesn't need another podcast, but it does need places where people can think together, question what's being accepted way too quickly, and take a more active role in shaping the next.
