the rest of the world that morality has fallen. 00:01:14.319 --> 00:01:25.439 When such extreme abuses of things that go um unhindered, even things that you you don't agree with, and yet you let it of the ground and daughters were born to them, then the sons of God saw that the daughters of men were good, and they took for themselves wives, any they chose. 00:09:11.600 --> 00:09:20.960 Then Adonai said, My spirit will not remain with humankind forever, since they are flesh, so their days will be 120 years old. 00:09:21.120 --> 00:09:24.960 So now we've seen expansive time frames around people's lives. 00:09:25.200 --> 00:09:28.960 They used to live 900, um, uh close to a thousand years. 00:09:29.039 --> 00:09:34.879 And so the Lord said, You know what, this is a lot going on in this world, I'm gonna shorten their lifespan. 00:09:35.360 --> 00:09:35.679 Okay? 00:09:36.320 --> 00:09:37.600 So we continue. 00:09:37.840 --> 00:09:41.679 The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward. 00:09:41.919 --> 00:09:51.679 Whenever the sons of God came to the daughters of men and gave birth to them, those were the mighty men of old, men of renown, and I'll explain that more. 00:09:52.080 --> 00:10:03.519 Then Adonai said that the wickedness of humankind was great on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of their heart was only evil all the time. wipe out humankind, whom I have created from the face of the ground, from humankind to livestock, crawling things and flying creatures in the sky, because I regret that I made them. 00:10:28.879 --> 00:10:30.720 But Noah found what? 00:10:34.320 --> 00:10:39.279 These are the genealogies of Noah, and Noah was a righteous man. 00:10:39.519 --> 00:10:42.159 He was blameless among his generation. 00:10:42.559 --> 00:10:54.159 Noah continually walked with God, and Noah fathered three sons, Shem Ham and Japheth, and now the earth was ruined before God, and the earth was filled with violence. 00:10:54.399 --> 00:11:03.039 God saw the earth, and behold, it was ruined because all flesh had corrupted their way upon the earth. 00:11:04.639 --> 00:11:08.720 And so Nephilim wickedness and God's broken heart. 00:11:08.879 --> 00:11:22.000 What's universally understood, and I want you to write this down or take a photo of what you're gonna see on the screens, is this it's universally understood that between creation and Noah's flood was a period of immense human lifespans. 00:11:22.159 --> 00:11:26.960 Like I said, they lived up to close to 969 years, close to a thousand. 00:11:27.279 --> 00:11:38.240 And so there was also spiritual decline, the emergence of giants, meaning the Nephilim, and ending with the great flood that reshaped the world and resets civilizations. foundations. 00:12:57.360 --> 00:13:09.679 Ancient Jewish writings and commentaries prior to Christ, the book of Enoch, one Enoch, was found, and it's actually not inspired literature, it's not part of the canon of scripture. 00:13:09.840 --> 00:13:21.360 It is actual commentary that Jewish people, scribes, scholars, teachers would come along, sign it, and it helps explain the time of the pre-flood period. 00:13:21.519 --> 00:13:25.759 And it was written between the third and second century BC. 00:13:26.399 --> 00:13:36.399 The Watchers were part of this canon, or I should say, this commentary of old Jewish writings, along with the giants of that time. 00:13:36.639 --> 00:13:44.399 And so now you know a little bit of foundations, now you know a little bit of archaeologics, archaeological findings. 00:13:44.559 --> 00:13:47.440 We're gonna talk about the Dead Sea Scrolls. 00:13:48.240 --> 00:13:57.919 This was profound, pivotal in the life of substantiating and authorizing what you're reading, the Word of God. 00:13:58.080 --> 00:14:02.159 And so I'm going through all of this for a specific reason, okay? 00:14:02.480 --> 00:14:10.080 It means that you know, God is not a fairy tale, God is real, and history tells it. 00:14:11.039 --> 00:14:17.200 So there were scrolls preserved from the Roman invasions by the Essenes, not the Essences, but the Essenes. 00:14:17.360 --> 00:14:19.519 They were discovered over a period of 10 years. 00:14:19.679 --> 00:14:20.879 I visited this region. 00:14:21.039 --> 00:14:22.639 These were 11 caves. 00:14:22.879 --> 00:14:36.320 There was a Bedouin young shepherd boy who were who was throwing rocks, and he threw a rock into one cave, heard a pop, and he went to investigate, and he found jars, large jars of the scrolls. 00:14:36.559 --> 00:14:52.159 And so from 1947 through 1956, 11 caves in Kirbet Qumran, northwest of the Dead Sea, about 2,000 years old, preserved writings, scrolls from the third century all the way up to the first year of the year of our Lord. 00:14:52.399 --> 00:14:58.080 Scrolls in jars written mostly in Hebrew, then a small number in Aramaic and in Greek. 00:14:58.159 --> 00:15:08.879 They were found also among them the Book One of Enoch and the Book of Giants, the Book of Jubilees, which were all apocalyptic commentary literature, just so you know. 00:15:10.480 --> 00:15:17.039 So one of the um profound uh findings that they discovered was the epic of Gilgamesh. 00:15:18.240 --> 00:15:23.200 He was a Neohittite sculpture that they engraved about him in 2012. 00:15:23.360 --> 00:15:41.039 Archaeologists, archaeolog, archaeologists or archaeologists, I'm sorry, found a colossal 1.5 meter or five-foot tall head torso of a human figure in southwestern or southeastern Turkey, which, if whole, would have stood about 10 to 12 feet tall. 00:15:41.279 --> 00:15:44.639 So this was an image of a man, in other words. 00:15:44.879 --> 00:15:52.240 It is believed to represent a king, likely from the first millennium BC, and they found to be true that it was Gilgamesh. 00:15:52.639 --> 00:16:10.639 Along with these discoveries in the Dead Sea Scrolls was the epic of Gilgamesh, this little parchment about the storyline of this great giant who was wicked and evil and corrupted people and was very oppressive during that time. 00:16:10.799 --> 00:16:14.799 So it substantiates the part of the literature of the book of Enoch. 00:16:15.279 --> 00:16:41.440 And at the British Museum, if we can go forward, at the British Museum in 1872, George Smith, an English Assyriologist, interpreted clay tablets, the cuneiform from Masul Iraq that's recited about the Ark, the Great Flood, and a dove that was released, searched for more clay tablets and found the epic of Gilgamesh, the giant king, during the days of Noah. 00:16:41.759 --> 00:16:56.559 And so there was also in recently in the Jerusalem Post, they discovered and also posted pictures and photographs of the findings of the reference of the biblical king of in the Old Testament, which was King Og. 00:16:57.120 --> 00:16:59.519 He was 18 feet tall. 00:17:00.320 --> 00:17:02.960 So these are actual real people. 00:17:03.600 --> 00:17:09.759 These are actual, you know, evidence of what your um Old Testament speaks about. 00:17:09.920 --> 00:17:20.559 And so the Ark, and I'll go into that because I love science, I love stats, I love data, and I love all of these findings because I love that the world finally says God is real. 00:17:22.400 --> 00:17:44.000 This is the Ark, and since 1959, new discoveries with GPR and ERT scanning, the testing from the probable ruins on the landscape of Mount Ararat Mountain Range, concerning this man-made structure with precise biblical dimensions, with decks and rooms that point to the evidence of the ark. 00:17:44.400 --> 00:17:47.839 And so the evidence of the ark, and there's more discoveries. 00:17:48.000 --> 00:18:02.000 You know, scholars are going out there, they're testing, they're they're using the scan sonar that goes deep into the ground and begins to highlight what's beneath them and the actual evidence of an ark and also a city that was named after Noah. 00:18:02.400 --> 00:18:17.200 And so one of the profound things when it comes to the book of Enoch and substantiating is a necessity to help interpret what we're reading and seeing and how the church fathers would see the book of Enoch. 00:18:17.359 --> 00:18:32.640 We could see through the voice of the early church father and theologian and apologist, Tertullian, who was a Berber descent in northern Africa, who was one of the church fathers who came to faith in the Lord Jesus. 00:18:33.359 --> 00:18:50.000 He said, in fact, they call upon Satan, meaning as he was reading the book of Enoch and sections of it, that the demon chief, in their execrations, as though from some instinctive soul knowledge of him, Plato also admits the existence of angels. 00:18:50.240 --> 00:18:58.079 The dealers in magic no less come forward as witnesses to the existence of both kinds of spirits, meaning demon spirits. 00:18:58.319 --> 00:19:14.240 We are instructed, moreover, by our sacred books, how from certain angels who fell from their own free will, there sprang a more wicked demon brood, condemned of God, along with the authors of their race, and that chief we have reference to, meaning Satan. 00:19:14.640 --> 00:19:26.880 It will for the present be enough, however, that some account is given of their work, their great business, and I want you to focus on this last summation that he said, the ruin of mankind. 00:19:28.319 --> 00:19:48.799 So all of this is the foundation of what I'm trying to lay out, which is this the pre-flood period had giants, and they used apocryphal writings to help develop a mindset, kind of like this overall view of what that period could have been like. 00:19:49.039 --> 00:19:58.319 And so just remember all the previous times that I've spoken to you, preached to you, that scripture always interprets Scripture. 00:19:58.480 --> 00:20:06.880 It helps lay out and actually amplify, expound other parts of the storyline of the great gospel. 00:20:07.359 --> 00:20:16.960 So let's look into what the Apostle Peter said using the writings of one Enoch to explain to the early believers of the days of Noah. 00:20:17.119 --> 00:20:20.640 Let's look to 2 Peter 2, verses 4 through 5. 00:20:21.279 --> 00:20:27.039 We're going forward in the New Testament to help explain what's happening in the old. 00:20:27.920 --> 00:20:34.799 For God did not spare angels when they sinned, but threw them into shoal, meaning hell and darkness. 00:20:35.119 --> 00:20:39.759 He put them in chains of gloomy darkness to be held until the judgment. 00:20:40.079 --> 00:20:42.240 He did not spare the ancient world. 00:20:42.480 --> 00:20:52.160 He preserved only Noah, a proclaimer, a preacher of righteousness, along with seven others, when he brought a flood upon the world of the ungodly. 00:20:52.400 --> 00:20:59.839 And so this was the account of the disciple, the apostle Peter, as he described the times of Noah. 00:21:00.079 --> 00:21:11.519 And so we're going to dive into now in succession some of the things, the findings that we see in this period during the time before the flood came. 00:21:11.759 --> 00:21:17.759 So what were the breaches of spiritual boundaries that occurred that God had to judge? 00:21:17.920 --> 00:21:21.359 Number one, it's the violation of humanity. 00:21:21.920 --> 00:21:27.759 God cannot allow when violations upon humanity and they go uncorrected. 00:21:28.000 --> 00:21:36.640 Genesis chapter 6, verses 1 through 2, it says, Then the people began to multiply on the earth, and daughters were born to them, to them. 00:21:36.799 --> 00:21:42.559 The sons of God saw the beautiful women and took any they wanted as their wives. 00:21:42.799 --> 00:21:59.759 In some translations, it actually says that the angels or the son of sons of God were Nephilim, were strange angelic creatures that stepped out of their spiritual realm, out of their place of authority, against. 00:22:00.319 --> 00:22:03.200 God and began to rape women. 00:22:04.000 --> 00:22:16.960 And so these angelic beings left their place in willful disobedience, lusted out after human beings, and did perverse things, taught perverse things before the God of heaven. 00:22:17.200 --> 00:22:23.680 It produced a hybrid of people, people groups, animals, and given to violence. 00:22:23.759 --> 00:22:25.680 That's where we get the word Hamas. 00:22:26.960 --> 00:22:33.440 This was a violation of spiritual order and breaches of spiritual boundaries. 00:22:33.759 but abandoned their proper abode. 00:22:45.519 --> 00:22:50.720 He has kept them in eternal bonds under darkness for the judgment of the great day. 00:22:50.880 --> 00:22:58.240 Just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities around them, since they in the same way as they as these indulged in what? 00:22:58.480 --> 00:23:08.720 Gross immorality and went after strange flesh, are exhibited as an example in undergoing the punishment of eternal fire. 00:23:08.960 --> 00:23:12.079 So they violated spiritual order. 00:23:12.319 --> 00:23:14.799 They violated humankind. 00:23:15.279 --> 00:23:20.240 They violated to the degree that they polluted human races. 00:23:21.200 --> 00:23:26.319 And so, as we continue, number two, I want you to write this down, which is very instinctive. 00:23:26.480 --> 00:23:30.160 I want you to understand what this time period was like. 00:23:30.319 --> 00:23:36.319 Number two, God's presence can no longer remain in corrupt humanity. 00:23:37.200 --> 00:23:56.640 It had gone to a level of extreme violence, gone to a level of extreme contamination, pollution, to the degree that it was so immoral, so violent that the Lord could no longer have his presence and walk with mankind forever. 00:23:57.200 --> 00:24:00.799 Genesis chapter 3, chapter 6, verse 3, it says this. 00:24:00.960 --> 00:24:07.759 Then the Lord said, My spirit will not put up with humans for such a long time, for they are only mortal flesh. 00:24:07.920 --> 00:24:13.359 In the future, their normal lifespan will be no more than 120 years. 00:24:13.839 --> 00:24:18.240 So it was ten generations after Adam, the first peoples. 00:24:18.880 --> 00:24:28.880 Noah built this ark and preached for 100 years to humanity, giving them warning, giving them caution to turn away. 00:25:06.559 Enoch, who lived in the seventh generation after Adam, prophesied about these people, the wicked. 00:25:06.799 --> 00:25:15.440 He said, Listen, the Lord is coming with countless thousands of his holy ones to execute judgment on the people of the world. 00:25:15.599 --> 00:25:24.720 He will convict every person of all the ungodly things they have done and for all the insults that ungodly sinners have spoken against whom? 00:25:24.960 --> 00:25:25.680 Against him. 00:25:26.720 --> 00:25:32.880 And so you have to understand that God, the God of the universe, is a holy God. 00:25:33.440 --> 00:25:35.279 He's a righteous God. 00:25:35.759 --> 00:25:46.480 And in his hands is not only love and care and a father figure, but also with him carries holiness and justice and
