🎙️ STODY PODS — EPISODE 10
Prayer 🙏 Before The Pod
SPEAKER_07What is up, y'all? Welcome to Stody Pods. This is episode 10, and this is Geordie215N. ST Yo Swervo. Before we get into the shout-outs and to uh whatever we got talking about this week in Philly, let's say a little prayer real quick. Dear Heavenly Father, as we come to you in prayer on this Friday, we ask that you continue to bless us and guide us and show us the way of life. We ask this in your precious name and the people of God say. Amen. Amen. Alright, bro. So what we got
Weekly Events 10/9-10-15
SPEAKER_07going on this week, man. Amen.
SPEAKER_08So uh first of all get ready to swear him. Two. Hey Philly, welcome back. We are officially in peak autumn. Not playing. Hey Philly, welcome back. We are officially in peak autumn and the city is showing out this week. We've got massive street fests and authentic bar bar bait barbarian. Ah, that's a typo then. Barbarian because that's a V. So there's a typo. B a V. Barbarian Takeover. And a Saturday night concert gridlock you won't want to miss. Let's get into your weekend planner.
SPEAKER_07Let's get it, y'all. So Oktoberfest, man. Let's get it, bro. At 23rd Street Armory, dancing at the Armory Oktoberfest. When is this? This is Friday, October 9th at 7:30. Oh man. Bra Smith transforms the 23rd Street Armory into a massive Bavarian hall. Traditional long tables, imported German beer, giant pretzels. Huh, we already talked about how we like the pretzels here in Philly. And live Oompa Bands. It's gonna be loud and an authentic party. 21 plus, you heard. No youngins. You heard? No youngins. Alright, up next we got the Made of Philadelphia Fall Fest, which is October 10th and Sunday, October 11th. It starts at 12 p.m. And it's celebrating its 10th anniversary at Dilworth Park. Browse local artisans, hit the seasonal beer garden, and play lawn games. Oh, it's a vibe, man. Relaxed, family friendly, perfect daytime date. You already know what is going on, y'all. Yo, Sto, what do we got going on for this music coming up in the city?
SPEAKER_08Actually, quite a few drawns going on actually. All same night. Okay. Relatively different times. But everybody, so you guys have three different options. You know, there's three different conscience going on. Your first option would be Teddy Swims. And in fact, my girl will be there. Okay. My girl and her mom are actually going to Teddy Swims. So that that should be really cool. Teddy Swims is the. I think. Listen, I don't really listen to him, but I know that he's uh similar to kind of like Jelly Roll, but more country.
SPEAKER_07I feel like he's more grittier than Jelly Roll. A little bit more.
SPEAKER_08I mean, Jelly Roll, you know. Yeah. He's right in the middle country rap type of thing. You know, he has that southern accent, which is and they kind of look the same. Maybe that's why I'm compared. They are. Anyways, let's not get off track, guys. So the Teddy Swim's concert, it'll be at the Xfinity Mobile Arena at 8 p.m. And then option B, Polyphya. I'm not if I um correct me if I'm pronouncing this wrong, guys. Gotcha, gotcha. Positive polyphone.
SPEAKER_07It sounds right.
SPEAKER_08It's I'm listening I'm pronouncing it how spelled. You know, that's how that's why I'm announcing it that way. Anyways, it's gonna be at the filmware at 7:30 p.m. Mind-bending, highly technical, instrumental, progressive rock.
SPEAKER_07Okay. So this sounds pretty um interesting. It's different than the country with the teddy swims. They got different vibes. That's option B what we got for Spain.
SPEAKER_08And then option C, yet again, I'm going to say this before, correct me if I'm wrong, guys, but I believe it's pronounced Artemis.
SPEAKER_07Okay.
SPEAKER_08Um, it'll be at the Franklin Music Hall at 7 p.m. He's gonna provide moody viral indie pop beats. Oh it sounds like more of a like uh instrumental beat pop. Yeah, okay. Which definitely, you know, will be interesting. Interesting. I mean, guys, listen, there's three different events going on in Philly that night. All half-hour differences, one starting at 7 p.m., 7 30 p.m., and 8 p.m. Go check them out and get your tickets now. There's a lot going on.
SPEAKER_07Yes, sir. So after the music, we got some arts and culture stuff going on, man. Art Museum Friday night. Speaking of, we got Hispanic and Latinx edition. And that will be Friday, October 9th at 5 p.m. at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Oh wow. Wrap up Heritage Month with live global rhythms from the 10-piece band People of Earth. Up next, we got John Coltrane's 100th birthday tribute at the Train House. Oh, let me take that back. Trains House. Saturday, October 10th, 7 30 at Philadelphia Chef Club. Pianist Farid Barron leads a monumental jazz tribute honoring a true hometown titan. I didn't even know he was from Philly. I don't know who the guy is, but yeah, John uh John Coltrane, man. It's 100th birthday. That's fucking nuts. God bless you, bro. God blessed you for sure, man.
SPEAKER_08Not everybody can say that they've been to I made it to 100 years old or even 80, I would say. That's what I'm saying. Like 80 is the new John, bro.
SPEAKER_07Like, let's uh let's wrap this up, bro. What we got going on coming up, dude.
SPEAKER_08So, up next we got the Philly Musical Festival Highlights, Philly Music Fest, Monday, October 12th, Gregory Allen isakov. Okay. We got some. It's Russian. Russian, yeah. Uh plays an initiative, uh, I'm sorry, intimate, cinematic folk set at Artemore Music Hall, 8 p.m. That seems different to me. I mean, but then again, I'm I'm honestly, I'm gonna be honest with you, I'm not really updated with all of the stuff that's going on in Philly. I mean, that's the reason why we're gonna do this. This is why we do this. This is why we do this, man. Um, anyways, then we have Thursday, October 15th, the Dillinger Escape Plan. It brings heavy, chaotic energy to underground arts at 7 p.m. 21, no YNs, no Young Bulls, guys. Oh man. Um, I like that though, because underground art that means you know, we're gonna see people that, you know, haven't got the talents. Yeah, it's about time they get their own. I like that stuff. I always love when we do underground things, and not even specifically in Philly, but just anywhere. No, yeah, it gives those people the shine, and I feel like those type of people, even us, we're known as underground. Yeah. It gives those us type of people a moment. You know what I mean? Absolutely.
SPEAKER_07So that's your week, Philly. Grab some pretzels, hit a show, and enjoy this fall weather. Up next, we got you already know, the stow brand talk of the week. Oh boo-boo!
Sto Brand Talk
SPEAKER_07Welcome back to Stody Pod, y'all, and you know what time it is. It's that Stowe brand talk of the week, motherfuckers.
SPEAKER_08Yeah. So first, I just wanna uh clarify for everybody. Go tap in with the contest, guys.
SPEAKER_03Yes.
SPEAKER_08This contest is staying active till fucking Christmas. Christmas! So um we already got a few entries also. I I'm gonna be specific. There's like two, three people that already entered. So don't miss your chance, cause even your next $40 could be your chance to win. Ray Bam Meta 2s. Yeah, I heard Meta 22, bitches. Yeah, that's right. So, um, I am still currently waiting on our latest keychain straps. Um, they should actually be here this week. If they're not here this week, definitely be here by next week. Yeah, I'm excited for those. Um I'm definitely excited for them. I I can't wait to just you know, even lay my hands on the materials, you know. It's different. I I like to um I like to inspect um you're good, bro. You're good. It just bumped me over, bro.
SPEAKER_07Anyways, guys.
SPEAKER_08The materials, yeah, like so like I kind of just feel like um you know how like somebody like posts mock-ups or something like that and they're broadcasting it, and you're like, I don't only just want to see it, but I I I honestly just want to I want to touch it, you know, expect the material. See it, touch it, obtain it. No. So I I I literally, yup, that's right. I wouldn't obtain the material. Just me, me, and me. Um also, guys, definitely tap into my page, uh, STO clothing with two underscores. We still are live with the uh French Terry cotton shorts. Yeah, what's the website again? The website is STO clothing.square dot site.com. I know that there's a lot of dots, I know that it's weird guys.
SPEAKER_07But it's always in the bottom of the description.
SPEAKER_08But here's the thing I'm using Square's site. So I had the chance to develop a website for free. Yeah. You know what I mean? So I don't give a fuck what domain it's gonna give me.
SPEAKER_07It's up. It's up and it's going. Uh a thorough website. Simple. Yeah.
SPEAKER_08Also on the website, if you guys are not followed to my Instagram, on the website there is an option that says Instagram. All you've got to do is tap that, and it's gonna take you right to my page. Boom. Right to the page. Um, over top that, anyways, we are live with the emblem shirt. $30, $30. You know, you know the guy's vibes. Uh, you get the full set, $25 each, total of $50. Um, there is shipping fees included if you do buy on the website. That's standard. I'm sorry. Um, if anybody has a problem with that, make sure you shop locally then.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_08Anybody that's outside of Philly, you know. Shit happens. It's business. It's standard. I can't listen. And also don't complain about the prices, guys, because keep in mind that shipping prices were taxed um this previous year. There was a percentage up. I don't know if you knew about that. It's been a good thing. So you know, when we get inflated, we have to inflate a couple dollars as well. Anyways, that's besides the point. We are also live with the concrete visions SGO uh in sports gray, three-panel hood. Um, I believe that is about a 8.2 ounce, which is in GSM 185 GSM, uh, which is great material, especially for right now. It is great as well. Not only that, but it has that nice it's like the best way I can describe it, guys, is it's an athletic, relaxed fit. So it has a slim-ish but roomier uh fit. So I was actually able to even size down and still fit. So if you're stocky, you know, you're good. You don't gotta worry about sizing up. And if you're more of on the slim build and you want a slimmer, tighter fit, you can size down. That's why I did it, because I'm more of a slim athletic build, I would say. I'm not stocky, I'm not you know, fit. You know, that's a better way to put it. I'm fit. Yeah.
SPEAKER_07I'm the stocky one, even though I'm somewhat fit.
SPEAKER_08Well, you came down multiple sizes over the years. You know, but guys, we are we're we're live. Like we're in full effect. We have multiple things out. We do, in fact, still have the red sun faded zip up. Um small to I believe double XL. We are uh no 3XLs. The only 3XLs, if you're a 3XL, would be our uh full set, the jogger set in black, which I'm wearing the hoodie right now. Uh you guys can't see. Jordy can. Yeah, yeah. Uh those sets are live as well. We we have multiple things. You guys have to make sure that you guys go to the website, take a look, go to our our webpage, uh on Instagram, you know, take a look at everything. Shoot me a DM if you're confused, or if you want to just connect with me directly instead of dealing with the webpage. Um, you know, I typically respond within the hour. Um, and that's pretty much it, guys. I mean, I'm I'm really just waiting on the strat right now to start posting more content. I actually, in fact, from our photo shoot uh the other week, I do have more things to be posted about that. I have to go through our messages to do so.
SPEAKER_07Let's go.
SPEAKER_08But um you know, guys, come on, stay connected with us because we're steady doing things, steady dropping. And um come shot with the latest designer. I mean, not the most expensive designer, which still is great.
SPEAKER_07Yes, sir. I hear that, bro. You already know, guys. Up next, we got a little snippet to life too, birds and bees, me, Jordy 205, and my brother Dapboy Nice. So let's get into that.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I'm getting the Jordy news.
“Birds & Bees” Preview From “Life 2 : After life”
SPEAKER_00Look in the mirror, I'm proud of me. Depending what side you see, a little bit more like five degrees, circular deck that'll ride for me. She on my topic I'm ride the bees, turn on my words in the rod and cheese. You really know how birds and bees, play with me that you curve for free. Look in the mirror, I'm proud of me. Depending on what side you see, a little bit more like five degrees, circle on deck that arrived for me. Play with me that you curve for three.
SPEAKER_07That was
Jordy215 Music Update
SPEAKER_07a snippet the birds and bees off of Life 2 from me, Geordie Two One Five, and my brother, Dad Boy Nice. Listen, y'all, we got three more weeks until the album drops our second part to our first duet album, Life. Part two, like I said, drops in three weeks. I'm hoping that the first single will be available on all platforms next Friday. So y'all will be hearing more of that next week if it if United Masters decides to allow me to drop it. So let's see what happens. But uh yeah, man, I'm excited. It's been two years since the first life came out. So we took about, I'm gonna say, to make this project, it only took us three weeks. But we we had a little time where we didn't speak for a bit, and if not, it wasn't no beef type vibe, it was just like we had our own things going on. Yeah, he went to go hand, you know, he had some shit to tell. He had handle his own shit, yeah. I'd handle my things, and then as life goes on, you know, you reconnect with people.
SPEAKER_08Well, that's the best part about being good friends with somebody, you know. When you're like actually good friends with somebody, it ain't a thing to pick up exactly where you left off, even if it's been multiple years.
SPEAKER_07And you know, it's crazy that when you can still connect with those people, it's like you said, it's like you just You just picked up boom, it's not even there.
SPEAKER_08We saw each other yesterday, and it's like that, and that's that's definitely the type of vibes that need to be brought around, you know.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, man, and it's good that people other people see that, and I'm glad that people other other have friends like that, you know what I mean? Yeah, because at the end of the day, they're the type of people you need to be around.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, those are the people that you should keep in your circle, especially when they're uh like-minded, especially, you know, like meme-wise and um him and your music, you know, you both make music, you know, so you guys both have the same type of mindset, and for you guys to even connect on a higher level, yeah, and friendship-wise, than just music and be able to pick up yeah, it makes it a better connection, yeah, and more keeps it, yeah, it keeps it it keeps it raw, authentic, you know, it doesn't make anything weird. You guys can just pick up that pen and paper and get right into it.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, because honestly, if I'm being real, when we both get on a song together, it's like we complement each other's verses. Right. So, for example, like on this album, there's songs where he starts it off. My bad, I just Sammy sprinkler that shit. But uh, where he starts the song off and then I come in on the second verse, and it's just it it comp like I said, it compliments each other, we complement each other, or vice versa, I'll start it off and then he'll come in. It it's just it flows perfectly, and that's why I'm glad that we decided to put this out at this point because two years is a while since the original one, and I was like, most people that do duet projects, like they only either make one album and then that's that and that's it. Or they'll make another one with a group of people, then they'll make another one, and then they'll just stop. To me, that that's cool and all, but when it when I when I make music, and I know he's the same way, we we're consistent with this shit. You know what I'm saying? When I do something, and I know the first one was amazing. The first life was a project I'll never forget. You know, we had music videos to that project. Right now, right now, we're not at the moment having any done at this particular time, but maybe in the near future we will.
SPEAKER_08Okay.
SPEAKER_07But the way that everything added up with the last joint we had in the music video, we were shooting it that whole day. We shot two in the same day, and we were just vibing down by the art museum, and there was this guy just watching us, and he was doing his own thing. That's free. And he was like, Yo, y'all are dope. Y'all mind if I come down and play a little saxophone in the video? And we were thinking, like, bro, was maybe trying to get paid, you know, because like that's a job, that's his job, you know what I'm saying? Yeah, can you? So we were like, honestly, yeah. And then he did it, and he didn't ask for bread. But knowing how we are, me and him both were like, you know, if we're here, take this. We gave him bread and we linked up with dude, and it was awesome to have that experience. I feel like that set the vibe right there.
SPEAKER_08Like, it was meant to happen.
SPEAKER_07You know what's crazy? The whole day, we were so tired at that point, and we were thinking about stopping, and we were like, bro, we might as well just wrap it up here. But I was like telling him, I was like, yo, we just got like two more hours before it's like fully dark. Let's just get a couple more visuals in. And next thing you know, guy sees us, and he's like, he's like, Yeah, that's what's up, bitch. I squirted my cat with water because he's being an asshole. And don't say I'm abusing my cat. It's a water sprayer, bitch. But, anyways, uh, no, it was just an experience, man, and I'm glad that we got to do it. And if y'all have the time, go watch the video. It's out on YouTube. It's called Ice Cream from Jordy205 and Dat Boy Nice. And uh Birds Chirp is also out. And speaking of Birds Chirp, the song that I just played for y'all, Birds and Bees, man. That song is a whole lot of nature shit going on. Yeah, that's life. Yeah, you know what I'm saying? That's a part of life, bro. The birds and the bees. What do y'all think we're talking about? We're talking about animals, we're talking about the way that you're you're created and fucking the birds and the bees. You know what I'm saying? Bang, bang, chicken wang. But in any event, y'all, I'm I'm glad that y'all have been tuning into the podcast and listening to each of us speak about this stuff that we're doing and getting into. So, yeah, you know what the vibes are. Tune in, live two coming out soon. And up next, we have uh, yeah, you already know it's the interview of the month, man, with my boy Beat Bruiser, one of my fellow artists. Let's get into that, and we'll be back with that, and more Stony Pods coming right up.
SPEAKER_06What
Interview Of The Month: Beat Bruzer
SPEAKER_06is up, y'all, and welcome back to Stody Pods, man. This week we have an interview, and the interview of the month is with my young brother from another cruiser.
SPEAKER_07What is good, my guy? How are you, my guy?
SPEAKER_06And you're interviewing.
SPEAKER_07Oh, yeah, we've been friends with high school.
SPEAKER_04I don't think it's been that long. It's probably been like a good five years though.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, true that, true that. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_04We met through the m we met through the music.
SPEAKER_06We did meet through the music. That's right. That is right. We did meet through music. But we did go to the same high school now.
SPEAKER_04Oh yeah, I went to Lincoln.
SPEAKER_07Yep. You went to Lincoln together. I went to Lincoln too, so that's how I I think I've known of you from Lincoln, but we didn't talk really until after high school.
SPEAKER_04What year?
SPEAKER_07I went to Lincoln in 2000. I started my freshman year, 2009, 2010.
SPEAKER_042009, 2000. Oh, we yeah, we started around the same time.
SPEAKER_07That's what I'm saying, bro. I'm telling you, you you met Derek Dawson and all them guys, right?
SPEAKER_04Yeah, Derek Mahomie.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, that's what I'm saying. We met through them. We met through them, bro, and then we just didn't. We didn't really make I didn't make music heavy back then, so.
SPEAKER_04No, I just uh we'll we'll get into that conversation.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, bro. So let's get into this interview, man. Alright, so let me ask you, bro. How would you describe your sound and what makes you different from other artists that are out right now?
SPEAKER_04Um I would say what describes my sound. My sound is a compilation of my just just my background. Uh born and raised in New Orleans, so I I kind of bring that. I bring that from so I bring I take a piece of everywhere where I've been, so which is crazy.
SPEAKER_06New Orleans is so far away from Philly, you know, and to grow up in New Orleans and then to move to Philly, which is pretty far, man. That's pretty crazy, man.
SPEAKER_04I'll give you a little background. So I was uh born in 95 in New Orleans, um Me and my family we moved to Jersey first around 2000, 2001. Okay, moved around Jersey for a little bit, moved to I want to say we moved to Philly in around 2008. Oh wow. And then 2009 is when I started and started high school.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, true.
SPEAKER_04So middle school middle school, I went I actually went to middle school at Roosevelt out in out in North Philly.
SPEAKER_06Oh shit, okay.
SPEAKER_04Um Yeah, went to Lincoln and just kind of been bouncing around since then.
SPEAKER_07Okay, so yeah, man, what makes you different from other artists and what describes your sound, man?
SPEAKER_04It's it's definitely the south it's a blend of it. I blend south the south the south bass and that kind of stuff with the with with more the northeast um the more the northeast tempo, like the northeast vibe. You know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_07So I like Okay, so you know since you're speaking to the South, I guess that's what made you fall in love with music in the first place. So then who were some of your biggest influences growing up?
SPEAKER_04Um Manny Fresh. Manny Fresh kind of made me want to be a product. He he's kind of the reason I picked up the uh producer side when I first started.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, because you also do production instead of like rapping.
SPEAKER_04I started I started out, I started out with production. I didn't start out rapping, I started out with production. I started out with production, and when no one would buy my beats, I gave I gave writing my own music try, and I it took a little bit of confidence for me to actually go out and do it, but when I went out and did it, um I it was cool. I know what what made me keep going was the support and the positive feedback I would hear about the people that actually care about what I'm doing. So that's what keeps me going with doing it.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, so you said Manny Fresh was one of them influences.
SPEAKER_04Many fresh, um Jay Z. Okay, Kanye.
SPEAKER_06Shout out to Jay Z and Kanye. Shout out to Manny Fresh as well.
SPEAKER_04Wayne. Yes, little Wayne man. Q Tip. Okay. Yeah, I was believe it or not, yeah. I was a real big uh TriCall Yeah, I was a real big TriCall quest fan girl. Bangers. I liked I liked Boom Bap.
SPEAKER_06Boombap is very unique, man.
SPEAKER_04That's a very unique sound and unique, but it's also so it's so gritty and original.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, it tr it truly is because honestly it's just a snare drum and shit, and it's just boom, boom, boom, mm-hmm type shit.
SPEAKER_04It gives it gives you it g it reminds me of like you could do that live. You ever seen the Alley cats?
SPEAKER_06No. What's the alley cats?
SPEAKER_04It's like an old animated movie, like where Oh, oh yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_04It gives me, yeah, it gives me the.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, like outside and uh when they're out in the in the alley with like the trash can lids, and they okay, yeah, okay. That's coming back now. That's crazy.
SPEAKER_04And then I said QT, and then uh DJ Premier.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, DJ Premier is a good goat, man.
SPEAKER_04Mm-hmm. So then Yeah, that's that's really my biggest influences right there.
SPEAKER_07Okay, so then what's the what's one of the biggest obstacles you had to overcome in your music career so far?
SPEAKER_04It's excuse me. Because you have to understand, like, music doesn't the hardest lesson I had to learn was it you're not gonna make the money right away. Like you can't be in it just for the money. Like that's that's what drives a lot of people away.
SPEAKER_06True, and then they just consider it. The hardest part is I've been growing it right now.
SPEAKER_04Right. The hardest part has been real is not only it's not more so realizing that kind of new of that growing going into it, it's more so balancing life with that, you know what I'm saying? Like what you're saying, bro. You you can't give music, it's been difficult giving music everything with not only how society is today, but also like it's not bringing in any money, so it's not paying the bills. So at this moment, it's not trying to make a career out of a hobby, you know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_06I see what you mean, bro. So then, real quick, real quick, uh, what's one song you've made that represents you the best as Bruiser, and why?
SPEAKER_04That's a great question. Out of everything I made.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, man. Come on, what you got, man?
SPEAKER_04I would say 97 Camry because it's a true story.
SPEAKER_06Where can people find that?
SPEAKER_0497 Camry, uh, I've been having a whole lot of problems with it trying to get it out on uh the DSPs, but right now they can find it on SoundCloud. SoundCloud is on SoundCloud and it's on YouTube as well. Yeah.
SPEAKER_07Okay, well then if anything, just give me the links after we do this interview and I'll post them up on the in the iPhone.
SPEAKER_04Oh, for sure. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'll send it, I'll send that right over.
SPEAKER_07Cool, man, cool.
SPEAKER_06So yeah, speak of that song real quick, and why do you think that represents you, man?
SPEAKER_04Um 97 Camry was not only not only was my it was my first car, it was it's a it's a it was a it was it was my youth, you know? Yeah being getting having my first car, experiencing that first freedom as a kid, going outside, being outside with my ratchet ass friends, being outside with the girls, like even the nights were uh even even the late nights out, like late nights out, I would sleep in my car because it was in college, we I was it was just the vibes of it, it it was it's so nostalgic to me. Because not only was I telling the truth. Yeah. Not only was I driving in it, I described the car, I described what was going on in the car, and at the time in life I also described what was going on.
SPEAKER_06Like true, it's like a life story, pretty much.
SPEAKER_04It's yeah, it's like more of a summary of my 20s.
SPEAKER_07So then how do you approach making music?
SPEAKER_06Do you usually start with the beat, the hook, or the lyrics?
SPEAKER_04Uh there's no s there's no s I believe there's no song without a beat, and there's but there's always a song. There's no beat without a song, there's no song without a beat. But you can have a beat with no song. Like a instrumental itself can be a song. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's what I mean. An instrumental itself can be considered a song. It really can.
SPEAKER_06I know a couple producers that put out just beats and they're like, yeah, this is a song I'm saying, and it's not.
SPEAKER_04I've done that, I've done that, I experiment with that a couple of times. But um so it it it starts with the beat. Um, I usually approach the the hook first, believe it or not, to try to find the vibe of what I you know what I'm saying? The vibe, like, yeah, what I'm what's the vibe of the song. And then so I'll write down the hook, come up with a hook, I'll go verse. Then you'll get to your later. And then I'll go to the verse. So and then I'll after I write the verse, then I'll structure it. Am I going verse? Am I going verse hook verse hook? Am I going hook versus hook? Like I break it down that way. So it's kind of all depends on you see what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_06It's not like straight order. You could go out of order.
SPEAKER_04Mm-hmm. I know. Like I write everything down, then I structure it how how you want afterwards be.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, yeah, yeah. I see what you're saying, bro. That's dope, man. So what's thing what's one thing people might not know about you outside of your music?
SPEAKER_04Hmm. I'm a really huge gamer. Like, I'm a really avid gamer. Um I'm I'm a kind-hearted person, almost to a fault. And I actually was before music, I was being recruited to play college football.
SPEAKER_06Fire. What position?
SPEAKER_04Uh at the time when I was getting recruited, I was playing defensive tackle, but I was new. I was uh I was a running back that was converted into defensive tackle.
SPEAKER_06Okay, damn.
SPEAKER_04So, yeah, so fuck yeah, bro. That's sick. Yeah, I was multi-talented in high school. What I I I played um one and played defensive tackle, one play defensive, and I've played middle linebacker, outside linebacker.
SPEAKER_06Hell yeah.
SPEAKER_04I've played punter, I've played kicker, I've played long snapper. I I was an athlete. I was a s yeah, I was a really I was a really good athlete.
SPEAKER_07So then what's next for you, bro? Where do you see yourself in the next few years?
SPEAKER_04What's next for me now? Um I kind of just been trying to balance life out, you know, moving into my first place. Oh fuck yeah, let's do it, man. Congratulations. Moving into my first place. Thank you, thank you. Moving into my first place with me and my um with me and my girlfriend. Um just trying to settle life in, like just trying to sort this stuff out first. You know, and then I'll be full steam ahead back to the music. Um, I still want to open a music studio. That's my ultimate goal, is to have my own music studio. Um and yeah, I just want to be an entrepreneur, have my own music studio, open a few businesses. When I see myself in the next few years, I can see myself I can see myself releasing more music, probably two albums in.
SPEAKER_06Oh shit.
SPEAKER_04Um working a full-time job and hopefully saving up the money to get to my own studio.
SPEAKER_06That's fucking awesome.
SPEAKER_04Get my own workspace. That's that's where I see myself in the next couple of years. That's why also having multiple streams of income.
SPEAKER_07And guess what, man? And guess what, y'all? It's it's my boy's birthday this Sunday, so that's why we decided to bring him on the podcast for the interview.
SPEAKER_04Come on, man. Happy birthday, bro.
SPEAKER_07You know the vibes, y'all. Everything for my boy down here. Thank you for coming on the pod, Chris. Well, I called you Chris, but I called you by illegal name. I'm sorry, bro.
SPEAKER_03Shout out to Bruiser. Yeah, yeah, shout out to Bruiser, man.
SPEAKER_07I'm gonna have all this shit in the description. So if y'all want to listen to his music, it'll be in there. Thank you again, bro. We really appreciate you coming on the podcast.
SPEAKER_04Thank you for having me, brother.
SPEAKER_07Of course, man. Happy birthday, my guy. Let's get it.
SPEAKER_04Appreciate it again.
SPEAKER_06Of course, man. Be safe, bro.
Fitness
SPEAKER_08What's good, guys? And you already know what the fucking vibes are.
SPEAKER_07Fitness. Boom, boom, foyer pool.
SPEAKER_08Oh yeah. Let's get it. Anyways, guys, so uh today we're gonna talk to you guys about a fitness that we enjoy that I feel like that you should try. Okay. And um, so the the one workout that I actually like doing that I feel like a lot of people could do or should do rather, are cable back cable back extensions. Cable back extensions. Okay. Where you take each cable in the opposite hand. So you take the right cable, yes, take the right hand that's your left hand, bring it across to your left side. Okay, and you're gonna put the cables about, I would say, shoulder length. Okay. And then you're gonna raise your hands up like a crisscross. Nice. And you're gonna pull them straight out like you would hold your arms out to your sides. And it's gonna hit your whole upper back. Yeah, like your traps and shit. You're trapped, you know, your upper left, and you know, the upper. It's really good. Um you could do it standing, you could do it down on your knees. How many reps would you like to do? I would say you should do between three to five for ten to twelve. Okay. Um, you don't need the weight up high. I would say 12.5 or maybe 17, the highest, maybe dependent on your build or how much you work your back because the weight more stuff. Yeah, because you're also gonna hit your rear delts on your shoulders. Yeah. And one wrong move on more of a heavy weight, you're gonna really hurt yourself. So you gotta be mindful of the weight that you have on there, especially because of the cables. The cables are really finicky, where if you use the cables in the back by the mirror, they're different than the ones in the front by the mirror, you know, but I'm sorry, not the back by the mirror, it's back by the back window and the front to the front windows, they're they're both different. Um, so if you were to use the front ones, they're more of a solid weight where like 10 is 10 for each. Gotcha. Whereas if you use the back ones, they're half. There's two two cables, so the weight once becomes half. So if you're doing 12, you know, 12.5, you're really doing six. Oh shit. Or 5.5, but you're doing them together.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, I know what you're saying. Okay.
SPEAKER_08Anyways, um I definitely think that's a workout for people that try and do that.
SPEAKER_07No, for sure, bro. That's not intense.
SPEAKER_08It's a good workout.
SPEAKER_07Intense like camping. Yeah. Camping. You get it? Intense. Intense. Yes. Like camping. Yeah, you fuck up pun.
SPEAKER_08Could you camp intense? Get out of here, dad joke. Uh, what about you though, Jordy? What kind of workout would you, you know, that you enjoy that you think others.
SPEAKER_07Alright, so I'm gonna talk about something y'all probably know about the ab crunch machine where you like you sit down and then you put your feet underneath the bars, and then you grab the two bars above your head and you you pull in for the crunches, right?
SPEAKER_08Okay.
SPEAKER_07So I used to just do 100 pounds on that bit, just 25 reps, four sets, so about 400 times. 100 times, right. But instead, now what I do is 60 pounds and I'll do 50 or 50 straight, like regular crunches, then I'll do 50 to the left, and I'll put both of my feet behind the one side of the bar. Okay, great. And then I'll vice versa, I'll go to the other side to where it's on my right side, and I'll crunch in that side, and I do 50 at host. And bruh, that shit is juicy as hell, and I feel great after that, John. I'm trying to like lower my stomach fat. Like, it's more or less like skin there now, but it's like still at the point where it's like I'm trying to get some motherfucking fabs. You know, like that that six pack of dad bot abs. Trying to be like that, you know what I mean.
SPEAKER_08Not a six-pack of a pounder, but a nah fuck that beer shit.
SPEAKER_07Even though I'll be drinking some beer this weekend at my cousin's wedding. Shout out to my cousin Jerry. Congratulations on your wedding, bro. I'm really happy for you, man. I forgot to give him a shout out in the beginning, but he's a fitness guru. He likes to do runs and shit. So shout out to Jerry and his new uh wife to be Emily. I'm happy to put y'all. Yes, they're actually getting married today. Cool. You already know, man. But that was fitness for this week, y'all. So if y'all want to try out them exercises, y'all know the vibes. Try them out, give them a shot. And you guys know. This guy's been on the pod now for about four weeks. You know, Rube. It's uh yeah. Rube picks and parlay. Brought to you by Stony Motherfucking Pods. Let's get it.
Rube’s Picks & Parlay
SPEAKER_01Rubes, picks, and parlays, brought to you by Stony Pods.
SPEAKER_02What's going on, Stony Podcast? Listeners, support us, family, friends. If you tune in, you listen to us. Regardless of what you call yourself, we appreciate you supporting us. And by us, of course, the dead horse. I'm gonna get on and beat and beat until his uh is dead again. I appreciate these gentlemen giving me a few minutes on their platform. With that said, once as you guys know, STL Suervo, Geordie, I appreciate you very, very much. Um, without further ado, let's jump right into Rubes picks. Unfortunately, we're not as hot as we thought we would be with uh with these picks. It's been uh first the first four weeks of the season has been uh very funky, I would say. Your your traditional picks, your traditional winners aren't winning. Um, you know, and this is in rocket time, so but let's jump right into it. Starting off Sunday morning, you know, we gotta, regardless of how we're doing, where we're at, what time we're playing, we have to highlight the fucking Philadelphia Eagles. And this Sunday we're playing the Jaguars at 9:30 a.m. in London. With that said, we are seven points underdoggers, and I'm eating that all up. Um, I don't care how bad where we are or we looked last week. I don't care if Wayne Johnson just retired abruptly last night. Um, we're not losing by more than seven. So I'll take that, uh I'll take that point spread in our favor. Uh let's get right into the fourth plot game that I want to highlight, which is the Niners and the Seahawks. Another, another great division game. Niners are balling, Seahawks are balling. Um, they're both at the top of the division. Niners are four, no, so they're undefeated. Seahawks with the one loss, but they're playing in Seattle. So Seahawks may pull off an upset. They are favored by three. In this game, you gotta take Tam Fran plus that three. Give them that three-point cut-in. They're undefeated. If they lose, it's in a last-minute field goal. So uh take San Fran for the plus three. Um, and then Sunday night, we have the Ravens at Falcons. Heavy running back game. You know, both running backs should score this game. Falcons are favored by three. That's a shock, but that's due to Lamar being out. Um, even with Lamar out, I don't see why the Ravens lose this game if they just give the ball off to Derrick Henry. Let him rush for two to three, even four touchdowns. So keep that in mind. And then I think this is the best game of the week Monday night. We got the Buffalo Bills visiting the Los Angeles Rams. Rams are favored by three. I don't know why. They beat our uh they beat our B and C team and barely beat us. So, but clearly Vegas knows best. So they're favored by three, Buffalo coming into LA. Um, I'm taking Buffalo plus those points. Uh, you know, once again, if the Rams win, they win, they win the same fashion they beat us. Last minute uh field gold, last minute score. So I'll take the Buffalo Bills plus three. With that said, parlay of the week, I'm going with Saquon Barkley, anytime touchdown score. I know that's hard to believe, but I'm relying on him this week. Uh Patriots to win against the Raiders. I have Cincinnati beating the Dolphins, DMC for any time touchdown score, and Derrick Henry for any time, any time touchdown score. So we have three anytime touchdown scores and two straight winners. With that said, put that together, pick it apart, feel free not to put it in. Um, and let me know how you do. Once again, I appreciate you, fellas, and good luck to everyone, good luck to our supporters. Be safe. And take care.
SPEAKER_07Welcome back to Stody Pods Philly. And that was Rube's Pix and Parlay. Shout out to Rube Man, RL.2151 IG. You know the vibes, bro. Thank you again for giving us the blessings with your parlays. And even though they didn't hit again, bro, it's alright. One day they're gonna hit. And when they do, we won't be rich as a motherfucking bitch. But anyways, let's get it, man. It's
Philly Sports News
SPEAKER_07officially October 9th, which means we are less than 48 hours away from a very weird, very early Sunday morning football ritual. We've got a massive London game to break down for the Birds and a hockey squad desperately looking for a spark. Let's dive into it, man. The Eagles are 2-2 after a brutal late game collapse against the Los Angeles Rams last week. They fly across the pond to face the Jacksonville Jaguars in London this Sunday at a brutal 9.30 a.m. Eastern kickoff time. So get your breakfast in order because you know Sunday is coffee, eggs, and the birds. Jalen Hurts is facing heavy media criticism, though. Team legends like Terrell Owens have come out publicly to defend him this week. And you know, back of running back tank Bigsby is heading into the injured reserve for core muscle surgery. Even worse, Saquon Barkley is highly uncertain for Sunday's game after tweaking his hamstring late in the Rams game. Alright, guys, I know y'all heard about this one, and this is going to be a little bit into this dive right here, but Lane Johnson announces his retirement from the Philadelphia Eagles. An all-time great. Congratulations on your retirement, Lane. Lane is a two-time Super Bowl champion, six time Pro Bowler, and a five time all pro. Now, Lane had some words to say to Philadelphia, and I got them right here from Lane Johnson. Lane Johnson said, Philadelphia, you truly are the city of brotherly love, the best fans and the most proudful city in the entire world. I have given it all for 14 years, season after season pushing my body to the max and tirelessly working my craft to not only live up to the legacy of the guys that came before me, but to set a new standard of the success for the best franchise in all of sports. I deeply wanted to gut it out for one more year, to take the field with my brothers for one last season, but after a lot of reflection, I've realized that my personal and my family priorities in my life have changed. Right now it is critical that I focus on my mental health. I owe it to my teammates, coaches, the organization, and the fans to have my head and heart 100% in the game. And right now my heart is telling me that it's my time to say goodbye to football. Wow, man. Some deep words, you know. Yeah, like he. For bro was in the league for 14 years. I bet you I thought the fans cried. Dude, I almost cried reading that shit. That shit was deep. It looked like you were probably just high as shit. But look, you're gonna cry.
SPEAKER_08I just yawned a little bit because I'm I'm I'm high. Don't mind me. Yeah, dude, that's alright. But now I mean that's deep, man. That's crazy. I mean, we're so we're we're I mean I don't want to use the word lose, but we we just lost a great player. Yeah, and a very important piece to our offense.
SPEAKER_07And in the beginning of the season. Which brings me into this next thing, man. Like, look, if Saquon can't go on Sunday, Nick Siriani's offense is going to have to transform overnight.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, I mean, we got a problem, right?
SPEAKER_07We lost at one of the best offensive tackles in the league. All of all time. Related to the city.
SPEAKER_08Over top Barkley's injury and us being uncertain about his coming back.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, and it's a massive test in London. But speaking of teams trying to find their identity, man, real quick, talk about these Flyers real quick, bro.
SPEAKER_08So Man, I really don't even want to talk about them, I'm gonna be honest. The stuff that I've been seeing about them. Haven't won a game yet. But get into that, man. Uh the Flyers have literally stumbled out of the gate to a miserable 0-2-2 start. It is the worst season opening since 2014, following a sluggish 4-1 loss to Tampa Bay, where they were barely outshot. General manager Danny Briere finally pulled the trigger on a rostal shake-up.
SPEAKER_05Okay.
SPEAKER_08The Flyers just signed veteran unrestricted free agent forward Michael Bunton to a one-year 1.2 million contract. Holy shit. Ching ching. Whew. To inject some desperate life into the offense. The power play has been entirely dead in the water through four games. Bunton brings that classic gritty net front pest energy that John Tour I I can't I'm sorry, I can't even.
SPEAKER_07Twertella guy's name.
SPEAKER_08I can't pronounce his last name, sorry guys. Um is missing right now. Uh they take on Carolina Hurricanes this Sunday night at 7 p.m. Which I'm sorry to say it. If we don't get our ship right, expect another loss. Yeah. I'm sorry to say it. You know, I hate to be the one to down and down a Philly team because I'm all for our Philadelphia teams. But the way that we are starting surrender.
SPEAKER_07It is. Is there any good news about the Sixers?
SPEAKER_08So actually, for the Sixers, it's a mix-up. I'm sorry to um, you know, it's it's there's good news, but we do have one one bad thing that happened.
SPEAKER_07What happened?
SPEAKER_08Um so we as you guys know, we have Can we get into the bad news first? You want me to do all right? So unfortunately, guys, our backup center, Ariel Huckporty, was injured to an Achilles injury. Oh, shit. Unfortunately, and I'm using that a lot because, yes, unfortunately, that has ended his season. Damn. And that was only game one, that was our open and preseason game. Which you guys know, we versed the Knicks, fucked them.
SPEAKER_07Fucked the Knicks.
SPEAKER_08Uh so we kicked off the preseason with a strong win over the Knicks. Highlighted by a great debut from Jalen Brown, which he played 17 minutes in the game, and I believe he scored 22 points with seven assists.
SPEAKER_07Damn.
SPEAKER_08That is a great opening game, especially against the Knicks. I uh, you know. You said they only played for what, 17 minutes? 17 minutes. Yeah, he played for 17 minutes. Uh meanwhile, they did not play Joel Embiid, LeBron James, and Tyrese Maxie.
SPEAKER_07Realistically what? In a real game, they play like 40 minutes?
SPEAKER_08Uh 30 to 40. So depending on your player, since they're a starter, I would say they would probably play as low as 25 to as high as 35 to 40. Okay, so realistically, bro. Depending on how important their role is. Yeah, that's crazy. But um, anyways, the game went from we beaten New York 120 to 97. Nice. So that is a great way to kick off the opening.
SPEAKER_07Just don't get it twisted, though. It is preseason.
SPEAKER_08It's yeah, guys, it's preseason, which I'm gonna be honest. Like, I really this is why I actually, in fact, didn't watch the game. And as everybody knows and hears me talk, I'm always excited for the Sixers and I couldn't wait. But no one thinking, well, I I honestly it would have been nice to see because 120 to 97, I mean, we brought a lot of high energy. So that means you mean it was definitely a game. Oh, it was worth the watch to see how our our new guys played. So I should have paid attention over top. I didn't know that we were gonna have VJ and Brown out on the court. I understand. I uh you know, we had our rise to start and our you know new veteran out on the court. I didn't know that. And that that would have been worth to see to see how those two were gonna play with each other.
SPEAKER_07And it's only one now, which today's the ninth, so it's only big weeks. Yeah. Until that's a start of the season. That's right. This is crazy.
SPEAKER_08So we you know, we already have a high energy, and you know, we have to understand we're expected this year. We're we're talking about we have LeBron and we only have LeBron for two years. So the br with him coming to our team and Jalen Brown being required to our team, we have high expectations for this being this should be our season. This should be a good year for Philly, you know, especially the way that we started off on. And I know you know, starting, you know, the season off like this is just you know, oh, we just started. We just want the defending champions.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, at least they did, because the Phillies are out of the country.
SPEAKER_08We're talking about not majority of all our starters were on there, so you guys keep in mind about we had our bench and our new people out on the court.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_08You know, and I'm guarantee you know the Knicks did as well. But still, that just shows that our new guys are going to bring that. They're hungry, they're gonna bring the same energy as our veterans. You know, we're backed up by great players, not just by our starters, but clearly our bench.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_08I think that that's a great way to start our season. And like I said, a nid of that doesn't mean much, but starting our season off a high way like that. With high energy, it's gonna bring high energy to the starting regular. I feel like we could constantly bring that throughout the season. True. So I I feel like, you know, Sixers have a great season on coming. I can't wait. I really can't wait.
SPEAKER_07Let's go with Sixers. But set your alarms all for 9 30 a.m. on Sunday for the birds. Stay tuned for the Flyers on Sunday night, and enjoy the weekend and get ready for the Sixers in a few weeks. Drop your score predictions, hit us up, and subscribe to the podcast. You know the vibes, y'all. And we'll be back with the last segment of the week, man. My favorite one of the week.
SPEAKER_08Alright,
Stoner Thought Of The Week
SPEAKER_08guys, welcome back, and you know the vibes. Blinker check. Oh yeah, he's right. Huna? And that is Geordie over there and dying for our segment, Stoner Thoughts. And I got a good one for you guys today. I'm sorry, this week. My man rose from the dead, and he's like, I'm fine. What's that thought about? Anyways, all right, ready? Yeah, you never experienced the present. Okay. Right. By the time your brain processes what's happening, it's already a fraction of a second in the past.
SPEAKER_07You never experienced the present.
SPEAKER_08You never experience the present because by the time that your brain processes, it's already a fraction in the past. Literally, a split second in the past.
SPEAKER_07So if I'm thinking of the present, you're thinking about it right now, and by the time you process it, it's already happened.
SPEAKER_08Ah, it's already happened. Wow. Everything that happens is is is the past. Literally. Like right now, as I'm saying this, because the thought process, it's all the past. You thought about saying it, so you just guys, that's kind of weird when you think about it. I mean, it's not wrong though, because like like I said, you never experience the present. By the time your brain processes what's happening, it's already a fraction of a second in the past.
SPEAKER_07That's some wild shit. I mean That's a real stoner thought.
SPEAKER_08It's definitely a real stone of thought.
SPEAKER_07Bizarre as fuck, yeah.
SPEAKER_08Think about that, guys.
SPEAKER_07Everything is the past is not the present, but the present is not the past. Y'all already know, man. This was episode ten of Stodipods. We finally digits, bitches! Double digits, bitch. You already heard of him.
Outro
SPEAKER_07Well you already know, man. This is Jordy 205 and FTO Twitter, man.
