You've got a pretty cool relationship from everywhere. Sean goes on his trips and stuff. He always comes back with a present for holding, and, uh, it's pretty cool to see, but that's pretty much what I'm doing right now. It's enjoying every moment that I have with my son and working

spk_0:   11:14
And before that, you've got quite the history.

spk_1:   11:18
Yes. Before I worked in electron ICS, I worked in television that was a development producer. I basically would try to come up with new show ideas, scout locations, cast them, and then you put them together in a complete package to picture the networks. So it was quite, ah, career change. But I picked an industry that was a little bit more stable for to raise a family, basically.

spk_0:   11:43
And then you were also in radio. Correct?

spk_1:   11:46
No, Before that, I worked in the music business.

spk_0:   11:48
The music business. I'm sorry. That's right. The music business. Yeah. And then before that,

spk_1:   11:54
before that, I was in the military. I was in the air for years. I've done a lot of different things. I got out of the Air Force and worked in the music business and actually started my own little independent record label. And then when the economy went south, I decided to go back to school and got a degree in film. And that's when I started working in television.

spk_0:   12:14
Okay, well, I also want to tell this audience with a special young man. You are a Sean, see, because you decided to enlist after 9 11 And so it's been 18 years since you did that, and you served our country and the Air Force for six years, So I thank you for your service, and I think it's wonderful and you're quite amazing, young man. So that's that's amazing. So, Sean M and Sean see, Let's talk about how you met. When did you meet?

spk_1:   12:51
I don't know such stuff to you. It's because I really took that huge Christianity. And I know that, Justin and I don't know, sir. I'm not a knife because him it seems like, huh? Yeah. And a lot of cool things together. You never did like to go out, do coffee. All 18 holes. Stuff like that. Yeah, that like, No. And they're like Dan. Ah did so so very far. Carriage house. I just does this. Go now.

spk_0:   13:27
Now we're gonna trust me. We're going to touch on that. But talking about how you met it feels like you've known him your whole life. But the truth is, you have not known in your whole life the the truth iss that you've known each other. How long, Sean? See,

spk_1:   13:43
about five years.

spk_0:   13:45
But you had heard about Sean M. Correct?

spk_1:   13:48
Yes. I had some friends that worked in the after school program at Topeka Hills, and they would always talk about this kid who was fearless and, uh, was just so funny. and they would they would talk about like they would turn their heads and he would be climbing up trees and stuff. But you're going to get down. He would always have the funniest responses. And, uh, they just, uh So I heard stories about him for years, and then I was fortunate enough to meet him, and, uh, we bonded instantly. Brickell? Yeah, Every day. Oh, he time he did. He got me a burrito. The first time I hung out with them, I took him to Taco Bell and I went to the bathroom and I came back. He had ordered 20 burritos,

spk_0:   14:35
20 parade of

spk_1:   14:37
cheese burritos.

spk_0:   14:39
Did you cancel the order or did you take up?

spk_1:   14:42
We canceled the order. He just got, too. But then he went back and tried to order some more. After that, the first time, that is too much for him. I could handle.

spk_0:   14:58
That's funny. That's that's very, very funny. So you met five years ago and Sean M. Mentioned a program called Refuge. I'd like each of you to tell me about that program because I think that's gonna be of some interest to our audience. Sean. See, let's start with you and then I'll have Shawn M chime in and tell me what? Maybe you Miss Chauncey talked a little bit about refuge. What does it look like? What is it?

spk_1:   15:25
Yeah, refuges. A weekly like activities club. And also do a ah, like I met like a sermon. It's almost like a church service as well with them, some special needs to young adults and, ah, mix of typical people, too. It's a lot of activities. There is music, and there's a message. Every week it's It's a lot of fun. Oh, it's our champion is in a real chairs. Yeah, there's some people in wheelchairs,

spk_0:   15:53
but it's all different kinds of disabilities. And and the people who do not have disabilities are they mostly young, like you, Sean. See, you're in. You're just of audience knows you're in your mid thirties, and Sean M. Is in his mid twenties. Is it about that age range, or is it all ages?

spk_1:   16:12
There's, um, people in high school in their twenties, and there's some even ordered, that there's a couple in their thirties, and I think, uh, hat was in his early forties. He was hanging up every week. So if they're all ages, Really, which is pretty cool. I mean, there was Ah, we're good mix of people,

spk_0:   16:31
okay? And go. And you would meet weekly and correct me if I'm wrong. But you have music. Didn't you say something? Tell me

spk_1:   16:39
who's there was music. Music was a big part of it. They would have, Um you know, they would place, um, worship, music and some pop music. And everybody was welcome to come up on stage and play instruments. And, uh, Sean would always go up with his acoustic guitar and rock out for every song. And, uh, that's actually when I first noticed it because he was rocking out harder than everyone else. I was like, We'll be friends of that day.

spk_0:   17:06
You could personality from the very beginning,

spk_1:   17:08
huh? Well, yeah. Action. I try to talk to me. Kind of brushed me off the first time he he was He was already a star.

spk_0:   17:16
Oh, really? Like that. But that was even before born this way.

spk_1:   17:20
Yeah, for more this way. So he was really and he was made to be a star loan before born is Were you had the persona.

spk_0:   17:29
That's That's funny. So, Sean M What? What? What is your description of refuge?

spk_1:   17:35
Refuge? It's like, uh, like you things. Like, What's up, t Just stuff like that, huh? I don't think you were prey and it into music. And Jimmy, like, hanging out and, you know, new people and stuff like that.

spk_0:   17:56
So you pray you listen to music, you hang out. What was the first thing that you said? And

spk_1:   18:02
there he's is about Jesus.

spk_0:   18:04
You learn about Jesus. Well, of course that's Yeah, that's very cool. Okay, so that's how you met. And now, five years later, you're very close. And how often do you get to see each other? And what do you do when you see each

spk_1:   18:18
other? I get, like enough that afternoon because I no see him and not yet. You cast on me, have text, but not too much. Oh, uh, I don't know what's going on with him and everything because he's my buddy, because ah, no, no, no. Everything. Because he knows everything because his friend says forever. Yeah, we, uh we tried. We tried toe hang out as much as possible, but you get pretty busy, but it's usually every few week, every two or three weeks when we hang out, place each other. Yes, actually, Yeah. And just like, but both. Pretty busy.

spk_0:   19:07
Well, Shawn has Sean m has three jobs. And Sean see, you're busy, Dad, and you have your job, so we understand that. But you stay in touch via text and phone as well. Correct?

spk_1:   19:18
Yeah, I get a lot of, ah, Shaun sends videos of himself singing, and and it's ah, they're really alone. But he'll send me a video. That's, you know, 10 toe, 12 minutes long training. There have been some really long ones. Yeah, and, uh, they're great Plume. That's all I could say. Great. But they would get my better if they were shortened. Maybe like a minute tops.

spk_0:   19:52
So you're sitting. You want him to edit, Correct.

spk_1:   19:56
Yeah, he got yet. I don't know if he wants to keep it full age.

spk_0:   20:00
