This is The Righto Podcast — have a listen, have a punt, and let's see how we go.
Righto, let's get into it.
Righto, welcome to the Rhido podcast where we give you the best tips across thoroughbred racing, harness racing and sport. My name's Tim and to the left of me is my co-host Cameron.
SPEAKER_00Hey guys, how are we? How are we Tim? Good mate, good mate.
SPEAKER_02Spring is in the air and let's get this game underway. Righto, so how it's gonna work each week we will have a hundred dollars to play with in the world of racing. Ten dollars has to go on a multi with the odds of at least ten dollars. Then we'll deliver our shout of the week where we put our noggins together to craft a multi paying a minimum of two dollar odds into a rolling pot. So by the end of five weeks, we should make $1,000. Follow along, join in. And yeah, so Righto, with that out of the way, how good was it to have Groupon Racing back last week, mate?
SPEAKER_01And didn't it deliver? Mate, it was good, I'll tell you what. Um we had we'll head over to Sandown Race 4. You had first chorus as one of your bets on the weekend. Um looked to have every chance in the run. Uh went the pace quickened, she just seemed to be on a treadmill a bit, didn't she? She uh she did pick up a little late. I mean, ugly she's probably is looking for a bit more distance, but not many excuses here, A Tim.
SPEAKER_02Look, not good to see Best Bet go down as of course, but I think he's been pretty good this prep. Uh definitely shown promise, and I think in again this week. Uh probably looking for a little bit further, and I'm excited to see what it can do through spring. Um yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, nice pain. He also had a value play in race five at Sandown, Unit 5. Unfortunately, got scratched, but it is in this weekend, so look out for that. Um race seven had one of my value plays actually. I had Ole Dancer, which got scratched as well. But we also talked about Cavalry Girl, which actually got the money first. Um she had the dream run behind the leader. She travelled really nicely throughout, I thought. Uh when the rails run to Pierre to the 200 metres, she took it with no hesitation, dashed away for another win. Uh, she's really added to that picket fence on that form, and um yeah, she made it three straight.
SPEAKER_02It's been really impressive. Um thought it might have been a little the quote might have been a little bit short last weekend. I know you were keen on it, but it's flying this preparation and going for four sooner rather than later, I'd say.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, certainly is, yes. Uh race eight at Sandown, mate. You actually had one of your best bets of the day, Gold Coast Bell. Uh, she jumped well this mayor, handed up to romanting encounter. Logan Bates decided to hop off his back and just let her sit outside him and run his own race. Let her be comfortable in the run. And when Logan clicked her up down the straight, she responded really nicely, I thought. Um she dashed away, dashed away from Tennessee Beown, which is racing in really good form at the moment. Um she might be in for a big sprint this uh Mayor Tim. What do you think?
SPEAKER_02Last prep it was really impressive and straight into the black book. And I think it paid off this weekend. Obviously, one of my better bets, best bets of the week, sorry. And Tennessee Bound previously undefeated, so I think it was a terrific run in that race. And I mean, big things, big things.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, nice, man, nice. Uh we head over at a Ramwick, mate, race five. We finally got him home, mate. We finally got him. Uh Bodyface. Uh he finally got the buddy for us. Barry parked up outside the lead of the whole race, which is great, so he couldn't get boxed in once again. Um I think the top four went really nice in this race. Um Sayuar fought on 90 for second. Matuslim rocketed home from the back of the field to run third. Uh, you'd think he would be close to a win soon in the next two starts, you'd think. Um also thought the budget smuggler was solid after returning from a short break. Um obviously needs more distance, but I think it boxed home nicely and sets him up for a nice cup campaign.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, obviously, Bonnie Face was one that we came together on there and got the win. Um good race. Glad it didn't do us again. Uh obviously, with this next horse we're gonna talk about. Uh, we were hoping for a Tommy Berry double, but wasn't so.
SPEAKER_01No, definitely not. Apocalyptic. Yeah. I think everyone can speak for that horse at the moment. Um I think we can both agree we're well and truly done with this horse, can we?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I think so. I think so.
SPEAKER_01Like, how disappointing. Um I mean, here I was halfway like up the straight, halfway up the straight. I thought it was a half chance, but no, back to its usual shelf, isn't it?
SPEAKER_02I just think got a bit too far back in the run. I think it was still the quality horse in that race. I just think needed to sit out just off the speed there and come home, but obviously went back, and I think even Michael Freeman came out after him and said it's probably not the right tactics for it. So look, it'll need to perform before I have another crack at it again, I think.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, for me as well, I think, mate. Uh Savi Halligan at the same race, tailed off finishing last, five lengths from the winner. She did have excuses though. Um she actually pulled up lame in both front and hind legs. So there's some little concerns what what they will and how they will go about this spring. Uh, what do you think they'll do with her, mate?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, not too sure, mate. I think it was a little bit short of her best this weekend. Um obviously beaten apocalyptic many a time. Um it'd be interesting to see where they go from here.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, 100%. Uh over at race seven at Ramwick, mate, actually had another value play. It was reaching out. I thought it was a little bit disappointing in this race. Um, even though it was three-wide the trip, I still thought it would have ran on a little better. Um Cherry Bombshell, very disappointing. Um Track behind the leader, Hembury, in the race, and when asked to show something, didn't show anything, was very flat. Ben Thompson and Rob Archibald after the race in the post-interview, they said that they don't know, they have a bit of a loss for words. They're very disappointed with her. They're quite confident leading into this race and they don't know what the problem is. Um Yeah.
SPEAKER_02I think with these younger horses, sometimes they just have a race like this, right? Um I did think Pemory was very impressive though. I wasn't sure how you'd handle the tracking conditions but bolted away there under J Mac. And look, I had a little something on Bangkok Hottie each way. I thought it ran good, couldn't quite get the job done. Um but I actually think heading into spring, this turning out to be a nice tightly source.
SPEAKER_01It is, isn't it? Yeah, the Golden Camp would be pretty happy with that, and same with Bangkok Hoddy, they'd be pretty happy with that also as well. Uh race eight at Ramwick. Personally didn't have a bet in this race. I thought it was a bit tough, but gee. Campion Diatala, mate. Wasn't it disappointing in this race? Um Tommy Berry said that he said it was just worse than midfield and thought there was enough speed on up at front, but when he decided to peel out and make a run, it he just didn't respond and he didn't really have an answer how poorly he went.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, look, I not sure what happened there again. Just these three-year-olds just heading into their second campaign, you never know. Um obviously though, the my multi of the week needed it top four for a payout of fourteen dollars. Unfortunately, second last does not get the chuckies there for us, but I think it can bounce back, of course. Um see where Walla goes with it now.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, 100%. Um race nine at Ramwick.
SPEAKER_02How good, mate, how good the wing stakes, this is a big one, right?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, 100%. Autumn Glow, she was just never getting beat, in our opinion. Um we said it, paid off. She got the perfect back perfect map into it. J May just gave her a little click up, 300 meter mark. She just bounded away from, didn't she? It was very impressive. Um, she just looks to have come back come back in great fashion, mate.
SPEAKER_02I think she reminded Everham why that hype was for her, and obviously she's an alibi, and losers no admirers in that run there, but I think over 1400 Autumn Glow. I I don't think it was ever getting beaten, if I'm gonna be completely honest. Obviously, Peter Moody quite happy with the run. Um but yeah, interesting to see where Autumn Glow goes from here, King Charles or an Everest.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I'm gonna I'm gonna say King Charles.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I think I have to agree with you there, mate. Yeah, but either way, we absolutely cracking performance.
SPEAKER_01100%. Yeah, she's an alibi, wasn't certainly not disappointing at all. Um she just found a better mare, over 1400 metres fresh. I mean, look out for her over a mile because she's gonna be in for a big spring as well, mate. Absolutely, yeah, absolutely. Uh in the same race, Aliana, very flat. Um, not sure if they just gave her a bit of a run because they scratched because Wallace scratched three of his horses, and then he had a jockey for her, but even even there, like still a little concerned how she perform performed, I thought. Um, especially what they have planned for in the upcoming spring.
SPEAKER_02I'm actually gonna disagree with you here, mate.
SPEAKER_01Yep.
SPEAKER_02Um on first watch I did think she was disappointing, but obviously we ran one of the quicker last 600 metres for the race, and I think the important thing to remember with Aliana this prep is I think she's gonna be looking at targeting those races over the longer distances. And like in Melbourne Cup, there's a lot of talks about her, especially in the markets, there's been a big push for her. So look, while the performance on the weekend was disappointing, and we talked about her probably getting scratched and heading to the MEMS. I wonder if these longer tracks have just always been the aim for her and just pulled up a bit here.
SPEAKER_01Well, I hope she she improves because she's in a couple of my futures bets, I'll tell you that. Um Chow Wolf. I thought this horse still went enormous, to be fair. Um unfortunately for Joe Pride, this horse has bled once again. I think that's three times now, I believe. It must be really stress frustrating for this camp. Like if this horse was going anything like it was last spring, I think you'd have a a nice spring campaign. But unfortunately, I think it it's come to an end already. Um, I would say. I just I mean you just have to wait and see what happens and what they do about it, you know.
SPEAKER_02It's probably another one of those horses that's aiming up for the King Charles again, I'd say. I think it is a bit better over the 1600. Um definitely the bleeds are a concern. Uh but I think it's I think you can get back on track, back on track here later towards it back into spring, mate.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, hopefully, hopefully. Uh race ten at Remwick. This was a tough betting race, this one. You could tell, as you could tell, I mean, like 10 of the 12 horses, they finished two and a half length within each other. Like that's that's crazy. Uh, we did have three horses we liked in this race, mate. Uh, call me gorgeous. I thought it was very unlucky. Uh got trapped three and four right three and four wide the whole race and still flew home down the outside finishing eighth. There again, that's only one and a half length from the winner. Definitely one to watch. Yeah, I think he's flying under the radar, this horse, and it'd be very close to a win very soon. Um, it was another horse. I was on it. Uh we liked it, had every chance, could have won. Uh, just got beaten by a better horse on the day. We ran second, and also we did like Sovereign Hill, mate. Uh, we got him at a nice price, probably about that $12-15 mark. And with Sovereign Hill winning the last race, mate, you know what that meant. Cha Ching baby. That's right, that's right. We got our first quarter over the line for the season, and that paid about 950 bucks.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, we caught it earlier, it's a bit of a quarter killer kind of race, and I think for a lot of punters out there, that probably is what did it. But Sovereign Hill, if it races anything up to its best, we knew it could pull pull out a performance like this, and it was good to see over the weekend.
SPEAKER_01100%, mate, 100%. You also had a best bet in Belmont, mate. Uh King of Light. Yes. A bit of a value play for you, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Dollar fifty five. Um look. If it wins, it wins. And this thing looked like it didn't even break a sweat. Um and look, some of the punters out there might have put King of Light into Autumn Glow, and I think that was paying nine swords there, and neither horse looked like it was getting beat on the day, so it was very impressive, I thought, mate.
SPEAKER_01Also sent out a harness bet during the week. Tackle move at Newcastle, mate. Um came out the gate fairly. Slot one by two, travelled really nicely on the trip, pulled out on the turn, away she went.
SPEAKER_02Big win there, big win there, opened at 480, come in at $2.50, and we got that one home. And also on the Instagram, I believe, mate. Got one at $2.10 to place at Tamworth there. And flying at the moment. Flying. Touch wood, I think. I just have to surrender.
SPEAKER_01100%.
SPEAKER_02Right, should we get into the racing, mate?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, love to, mate. Love to. Um, mate.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, mate. I'll start off at race three at Caulfield, and my value play comes up here in St. George. Uh these staying races can be hard to pick, but I think he's the pick of the bunch at the price. Mark Zara on board, and coming off a benchmark 100 win at Flemington. 850 win, two forwarded places, good enough for me.
SPEAKER_01100%, mate. He's definitely flying this horse. Um I when I seen this mark, it opened up at 850. I was thinking the exact same as you, I'm pretty sure. It's a very good price. Um, he's going well at the moment, so you can't knock his form. I think it's a great play from you, mate.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, look, come into last prep with big expectations, and I think they'll be looking for some nice sort of wings wins over spring here. Let's see where this horse is really at.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, nice, mate. Nice. I believe you have your best of the day.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, my best of the day comes up as a third emergency here. Number 19 cruiserweight. Uh Ethan Brown on board, 1400 metres and 55 kilos on its back are all ticks for me. Scratching the barriers last week with blood in the nostril, but I think the Habilies will have this horse ready to run. And I think at $2.60 that's a nice price I'll be taking.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, 100%, mate. I think last is a bit of a forgive and forget run. Um they wrote it upside down, I thought. I think and need it just needs to have a sit. When that takes a sit and just pulls out, I think it's a much better horse. Um, yeah, I don't know what their tactics were tactics were last time, but I think this time would be very hard to beat.
SPEAKER_02I think Ethan Brown's a great booking for this one. And um I think it's in less accompanying this race as well than its last start. Uh and at $2.60, so I'll take that.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, 100%, mate.
SPEAKER_02Race five at Caulfield, mate. Tough race this one, but I think there's one you like here.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I didn't mind two in this race, actually, mate. Um, I'll probably be having two small players. I think Bello Chevelle is this nice prize in this race, $8.50. Um, gets back to 1200 metres. Should hopefully get a soft ground, I think. Pace will be on, which will suit. Craig Williams gets back on board, which is big plus as well. Also be having something small each way, road to a tar road to a talky, gets a good barrier, shouldn't have to do much to get across, loves the lead. Just get just a bit worried about much how much pressure will cut. Um, because I think there's a few who will contest the lead in this, but I mean gets back to 1200 metres as well, and likes a bit of give in the ground. I think $9 is a great price about this horse.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, of course, mate. Definitely a um tougher race out there. And we move on to race five at Caulfield.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, um Dark Bonnie deserved favourite here at $2.60. Was very impressive winning last start, showed a good turn of foot from the back of the pack. Um I think he's in for a nice campaign this horse. I think he's a nice horse, this one. Um, I mean, obviously he should be running the trip because they want to send him to Cotts plates, Melbourne Cups and Cafield Cups. Um, yeah, I just I think he's a he's about his price, but I probably won't be on him, but I think he's a deserved favourite if that makes sense.
SPEAKER_02Absolutely, mate.
SPEAKER_01There is also in the same race, mate, it's highly unlikely if they get a good track, but if that if there's a miracle that happens and they get a good track, I think see that storm around we'll be around that money at $12. I think it's a great price. Love the distance, love the track, but obviously, like if the track improves, like you're not gonna get that price on the day.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, of course, mate. And race six at Caulfield. Another tough betting race, but I think you've got one you move.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I mean, I look at a live another day, and I tell you what, it looks good. It can do it all, dry, wet, um, can take a sit, can take a lead, and it just finds another gear in an instant. Like it's so it's it's impressive in a way. Um I believe the stable lining up for a medicato and a pretty big spring ahead, I think, but I don't think I can have a bet to be honest, mate. Um how about you, mate?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I thought I'll live another day. It's probably around east price. Um obviously we've heard the camp give it a real big pump up, but I think if I was gonna have a bet in the race, it would be Bridal Waltz coming in at 440. Um I think it's shown great ability, uh, group on placings. Uh it's someone who I could get behind in this race.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I'm with you, man. I think Bridal Waltz is a very good chance in this race. You've also got recommendation at $17. Like, I think that's a crazy price. Um, he's been racing against some quality horses, been hitting the line very nicely. Just needs a bit of luck in transit. You've also got war machine, mate. Um, look, I don't think his day is on sad day, unfortunately. Just needs a bit of a dry, dry ground, and I think he needs a little bit more distance, but he's gonna be around the money for sure.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, been very disappointing for the punters recently. War machine uh obviously went out the barriers in its last start and failed to finish at a dollar thirty, I think. Uh, and a day a lot of punters got on him, so hard to back. Just want to see one run back and what he can do.
SPEAKER_01Yes, 100%, mate.
SPEAKER_02Alright, race seven at Caulfield, mate. What do you got?
SPEAKER_01It's a bit hard to base off how they're going um in this one. It's very tough race, I thought. But I'm gonna be leaning towards unit five in this one, mate. Was very unlucky in the blue diamond when he went to make he went to make a run on the turn and he got bumped and checked and all this, and he started to get going again. And when he started to get going again, he got bumped again, got unbalanced, lost all his momentum, and I just thought he was only four and a half lengths off the winner, and I think it was Stryzand, yeah. I just think six bucks, like it's a great price. Like, he's only like his other star, he he beat Tornado Valley, and that's that horse is no slouch, I don't think. Um I think he's one of the bet better bets on the program for me, to be honest, at the price.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, obviously, one of my value players last week bet scratched to come here. You'll think this assignment will suit him. Um an easier field, in my opinion, as well. And you're still gonna nice price about him open up a 750 into fives as we're recording now. And Ethereum.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, um, this horse was held up badly. It's first and only start at Flemington, actually. Uh had to check off heels at the 200 metre mark, and when he gave him some rain, he responded really nicely, like he had a good turn of foot that day. And he's not a bad price at the $6 quote, but there again, it's he's only a young horse, and I'd like to see another start from him. But gee, if he goes anything like that on his first start, he'll be awfully close.
SPEAKER_02Absolutely, mate. And we had to race eight at Corfield, the feature race, it is the Menzi Stakes. What have you got for us, mate?
SPEAKER_01Mate, how good is this race? I I can't get over it.
SPEAKER_02We are spoiled as racing fans. The Wink Stakes, she's she's another white autumn glow, and this is another stacked field. It's shaping up to be a big spring move.
SPEAKER_01Oh mate, I cannot wait, I'll tell you that. I mean, Mr. Brightside, it's great to see him back, but and he loves this race, but he's nine years old now, man. I not for me, unfortunately. Um you got Cosmic Crusader, he's flying at the moment, can't really fault him. Um he will love the ground, tracking distance suits, gets a good jockey aboard. I think he will be very close around the money. What are your thoughts on that, mate?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, obviously Pike coming over to ride him. I think in this race we'll see Baywoked go straight to the front and we'll dictate terms up front. There's I think he'll just sit off pace in the race. Obviously, it's gonna be very interesting this race. Um I see a lot of horses uh trying to, but I think. Cosmic Crusade has a bit of a fitness edge. Obviously, been flying a lot of these horses, it will be their first start of the campaign. And I think $5 is a great price for it as well.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, definitely a good price. Got the fit uh racing fitness edge, like you said. Um, he would definitely be around the money. Um, Autumn Blue, Autumn Buoy, sorry, he's flying as well. Um, Joy Mac takes a ride on this one, which is quite interesting. Yeah, I mean, look, take she's an alibi out of the the Doncaster and the Guinea's, like that horse puts a space on every other horse. You know what I mean?
SPEAKER_02Uh has constantly been running into one better. Um, in she's an alibi, obviously. J Mac coming down to Melbourne, and at a distance that suits it as well. We've obviously seen her perform consistently over this distance. But for me personally, I think there's a couple better that come up.
SPEAKER_01100%, yep.
SPEAKER_02And that's probably where my money work should be going in this race. Treasure the moment. Huge win first up last year in the Memzies at $11. I think love's a track, love's a distance, love this race, and I mean eight dollars for you gonna bout that for it. I think it's I think it's one of the better bets in this race. Um obviously Baywoked as well. If he gets away with murder up front, $1400 is where we've seen it do its best work. Scratch last weekend as well. Um you'd think Walla would have some confidence in it here. And if I'll I think I'll be playing a little box exacto between Bawok Treasure the Moment and Cosmic Crusader there.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, 100%, mate. Uh Baywal's flying. Um loves the lead. I just a bit of a query on soft ground. I'm not sure how it goes.
SPEAKER_02Hasn't raised the field like this either.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, 100%. Yes. Um, but you can't knock treasure the moment, uh in my opinion, like like you said. Um little bit disappointing.
SPEAKER_02Last prep obviously had that setback early on, but before that, undefeated, and I think Damien Lane can get it to bounce back.
SPEAKER_01Hopefully, mate, hopefully if you can. And what are you doing about? Well, actually, we'll be siding with Jimmy in this, mate. I know you don't like this, but look, he's hurt me before a lot, but his trials in Sydney I thought were very promising promising. Um gets back to 1400 metres, loves the distance, loves the track, loves the soft ground, hopefully. Just hopefully he'll be storming down the outside late and get the cash for us.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, after that Queensland campaign hurt us a bit there. Um be interesting to see how it goes here. I think he's a little bit short for me personally. Um obviously we're talking about one of the better 1400 mana horses in the country.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I I think he's running the strap break was still great, in my opinion. Um, and I think his trials have been amazing as well. And I think this horse is in for a big spring, if I'm being honest. But I mean it's like there's so many good quality horses in this race. I think it's a a great play for a first fall in this race, and I think that's what I'll be doing.
SPEAKER_02Absolutely, mate. We had to race nine at Caulfield, where Yellow Jersey is your $2.45 favourite. And I think he's caught you right, mate.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, he will be my best bet on the program, Yellow Jersey. Um he trolled on the 15th at Corfield and was very impressive in his troll. Um, I think this horse is another quality horse. Um, they're setting him for some big races in the spring, and I think this is a bit of a trial for him to be fair. Um, you've also got first chorus, is your second favourite at six bucks, mate. Um guess the extra distance, it's definitely looking for it after last week. We'll be around the money. It's been up for a while though. It's been racing for a bit. Um race last week, as you know, but I mean you can't knock the form at the moment, how good it's going. Like you may as well just keep going with it, you know.
SPEAKER_02Absolutely, yeah. I think this race is a bit tough for me to have anything in, but I will say at the price, I thought Middle Earth might have been a cheeky each-way play there. Gate one and top weight does hurt it a little bit. Um, so I'll be staying away. Obviously, it'd be interesting to see if first chorus runs after on the backup from last week.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I think that's its only downfall, to be honest. Um, it's gonna love the more the more distance. Uh it's gonna eat it up a lot. Um Middle earth, yeah. I just think he's screaming for a bit more distance. So I probably won't I mean I'm on yellow jersey, but I probably won't be touching around that. What was your thoughts on yellow jersey? Sorry, mate.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I think a lot of talk about it coming into this week. Um obviously coming over from France. It's all to the goods. There's been very big raps on it. Um just there's a bit of depth in this race. Obviously, horse like um Barnavara, big raps on it, and getting $12 for it. Um yeah, I think I think it's a deserved favourite.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it was a bit you know why I was scratched last week at Ramwick? I don't know. No idea.
SPEAKER_02I I think it might have been just a bit too short for it. I think it's looking for the big distance races this spring.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, okay. Well this could suit it perfectly, then hey. Um, I mean there's yeah, like you said, there's very depth, but I think just folk just folk at $11 is a nice price. Um like he's been great, I think. Um he's been finishing second and third behind some quality horses, like such as Bidnight Dynamite and Dark Bonnie as well, who's in this weekend. Um, I'm just not sure how we'd go beyond the mile, but does drop three kilos, which is a positive, and you think he'd be around the money.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, absolutely, mate. And we had to race Tanic out the last race on the program.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, uh, you got Sassapo as your $2.90 favourite. I mean, deserved favourite as well, in my opinion. Um there's no real bottom for this horse at the moment. Uh, she just keeps winning and quite easy, I may just say. Uh, she loves the distance, but she hasn't been tested on soft ground yet. So that's the question mark there. What are your thoughts, mate?
SPEAKER_02Tough race. Uh, like you said, deserved favourite has been flying, obviously. Gets 56 kilos as well, which I think will help it out greatly, but we're looking at some quality performers here. Cafe Millennium last preparation. I thought was great. The gate's a little bit sticky, same with another will there. I thought he was decent value. Um, a lot of a lot of depth to this race, in my opinion, could be a real quaddy killer for those playing the quaddy. I also thought a horse like Fansifly could be around there. Obviously, been racing pretty well against some good horses, but yeah, hard to go past Sassapilment.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, 100%. I don't think I'll be having a bet in this race, but like like you said, like Al Daka is a nice price of $14. He's got Craig Williams aboard, uh, another one that likes the track and distance, he shouldn't be he should be around the money. I mean, you got Ten Commandments, loves the distance, does go up in grade. It only goes down half a kilo though, which is a positive. Uh um, sorry, but only goes down half a kilo, which is a bit of a skeptical. Um, I just think five bucks is a bit skinny for my liking, but definitely racing consistently. Um, you got run harry run, loves to lead, and he's very tough. Um was a good win last start at Road and Randwick. Uh Nashville Royal Roar Willa is one of those riders that you always want to ball when you're leading. Uh stays at the same grade. Yeah, but he does go up two and a half kilos, but stays at the same grade. I think there's a I think yeah, I think he'd be a bit of a chance at 71, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Absolutely, mate. Righto, let's head across to Rose Hill. And I've got one I like as my value play in race four, and I'm talking about number seven mystery and drama. Coming up from Melbourne and a late entry into this one suggests to me the camp is keen to give it a run. Three starts go, finish 2.6 lengths behind She's an Alibi at 1400 metres, gets a good gate, and at 14 to win and 330 to place, I'll be having a good crack of that. I think it is a value runner of the race, and I think it's one of the best value on the cards in saying that, mate.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, 100% mate. I haven't looked at this race very thorough, but from what you're saying there, it'd be very hard to be. I mean, she's an alibi form, Jesus.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, of course. Yeah, I mean uh a Vista gone very, very well scripted as well, but I I think I'll I think mystery and drama can at least I think I can run a drum easy.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, well I hope so for you, mate. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Alright, and we head over to race eight at Randwick. What have you got for us, right?
SPEAKER_01I'm actually starting with War Woven here, mate, uh, in this one. Uh done it tough three wide in the slipper. Uh still ran home nicely, I thought. Had a trial at Randwick about two weeks ago and got home really nicely. Um I know Jean Backy has a big opinion of this horse, and I'll be having something on at $6. Um, yeah, that's an insane price in my opinion, man.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, of course, against the Golden Swimmer. Uh Golden Slipper winner in Guest House here. You worried about it at all, mate?
SPEAKER_01No, I'm not actually. I'm gonna make a big call here.
SPEAKER_02Here we go, yeah.
SPEAKER_01I think Guest House is the flop of the spring, mate.
SPEAKER_02Wow. Wow. Obviously huge expectations after winning the slipper. Talk us through it, mate. No?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I just think most of the time, like slippers and all that, like the two-year-olds, when they just perform so good as a two-year-old, they just don't go on. Uh, it's happened so many times before. I've seen the story before. I mean, look, he's a nice big horse, like he's a lovely horse, but yeah, I can't get behind it.
SPEAKER_02Well, I do believe I've actually seen a stat floating around this week, mate, that in all the years a Golden Slipper has been running, only eight Golden Slipper winners have placed in the San Dominico States. There you go. I believe that was the stat. Okay. But so might be a bit of a lay in this one. I thought music time was a decent price as well.
SPEAKER_00Nice, at like $18. It's crazy, isn't it?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, absolutely. Um one thing I am sceptical on, obviously a bit of a fitness edge, and ran really well, but Blue Door, $2.15 favourite, mate.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, very skinny for my liking. Yeah. Um, we were both on Chili Girl last start when they got over Blue Door.
SPEAKER_02Um definitely lost no Myers.
SPEAKER_01No, certainly not. I know they have a big opinion of this horse as well. Um they are setting it for a big race. Can't remember it off the top of my head, unfortunately, but they are they do like this horse a lot. Um, yeah, big opinion. But yeah, $2.15 against a golden slipper winner, and a horse went really well in the slipper.
SPEAKER_02I just I mean we talked about these younger horses, they're unpredictable, right? So I think in this race we'll try to find some value.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, 100%, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Right, I mate, it's time to head to Queensland. And for my best bet, I'm going to race eight, and I'm looking at Polygot. We talked about her horses that have hurt before in Apocalyptic. I think this horse is right up there with them, but comes into this race uh at Eagle Farm with 55 kilos on its back. Um 53 kilos, sorry, coming off a gritty win, I thought, over off the press at Rose Hill. I think it gets a job done here, and the only thing I can see getting close to it is Taltani Fields. But at $2.90, that will be my best of the day.
SPEAKER_00Right over, yeah. Wow. Um you love that horse as well, Taltani Fields. Yes, yes. Going a separate way, I see. Yep.
SPEAKER_02Uh I just think the Sydney form speaks for itself here. Um, I think the field lacks some it's a weaker field than what it's been racing, and all that weight off its back. I think what we've seen is it have the tendency to fade out of races. Um I think Ben Thompson and Body can get a home in this one pretty convincingly.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it definitely looks like the class horse in the race, and especially like you said, like uh against like how like the horses it's been racing, it's been certainly going well. I just not at 280 for me, unfortunately, but I hope good best of luck to you, mate. I hope it wins.
SPEAKER_02Right up the we will get into our harness segment for this week. Harness Whisperer, what have you got for us, mate?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, so I've actually like one again at Newcastle Trotz. Prices aren't out yet, they won't be out till Friday morning. Uh race two number six, right? I like some Chevron. I think this suits her. Uh suits him, sorry. Uh probably a little too wide for my liking, but he's got the gates bed and he'll use it 100%. Uh race over a mile and a half two weeks ago. Just about a tad too long. Uh drops back to a mile with a good driver aboard. I I think this will be very, very hard to beat at a good H-way price. I think you might get 8N to 1, 20 to 1 here.
SPEAKER_03Oh, okay, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Obviously, you've been on a bit of a roll with the harness bets as if you follow us on the Instagram, you'd be able to see. Um Righto, let's head into the multi. So remember, minimum $10 odds, and we'll put $10 on it each each week. What have you got for us, mate?
SPEAKER_01Yes, so my multi of the week, mate. I'll go to race, I'll be using the more features play sorry, more places feature on Sportsbet. I'll be having Caulfield Race 8 number 2, Jimmy Star top 4, Caulfield Race 7, number 2, Unit 5, top 3, Caulfield Race 9, number 10, Yellow Jersey, top 3, Caulfield Race 10, number 10, I believe. Sass appeal top 4. And I'll also be having War Woven top 3, Bridal Waltz, top 4, and that will get you a total of $10.61. So I think that is very good juice for that one.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, nice, mate. Um obviously we're competing to see who can get the most money, and we will update that leaderboard. Um, I'll also be using the more places feature on Sportsbet. So I'll be going with St. George, top seven in Caulfield Race 3. Mystery and Drama, top six in Rose Hill race four. Cruiserweight, top four in Caulfield Race 4. Botanical Boy, top seven in Rose Hill race five. Shadowar, top six in Caulfield race five, Ringsinger Champ, top seven at Eagle Farm race seven. I Live Another Day, top four at Caulfield race six. And Polygot top six in Eagle Farm race eight. Unit 5 top five at Caulfield Race 7. Treasure the Moment top six in the Memzies, Altov top 4 at Rose Hill race 9, and Grand Impact top 6 at Rose Hill race 10. And you're getting 1202 for that one.
SPEAKER_00Sorry, mate, almost fell asleep. Hey, winners win, winner's win. 100%, right? 100%.
SPEAKER_02Righto, and now is our weekly segment where we put our heads together for a rolling pole. We're hoping for a nice return, our best of the day. It's time for shout of the week.
SPEAKER_01Right, guys, time for shout of the week. Last week the bar went dry with Tim tipping it, tipping us into apocalyptic. That was a good tip, wasn't it? This week we're putting our minds together and made them multi. So we've got Tim's best bet, Polygot to Placed, my best bet, yellow jersey to place, and then we've got race nine number seven out of the place. Hopefully we can get off to another winning start.
SPEAKER_02Alright, guys, that was chat of the week. And now we move into the NRL segment of the show. Last week, mate, a couple of big games. Couple upsets.
SPEAKER_00Sorry, mate, just to talk about buddy.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00I believe we have a little gray out bet for us, mate.
SPEAKER_02Yep. So probably be too late once this podcast comes out, but Arise of Sparkles tonight, $2.45. I think she's drawn three. Look for a bounce back as she heads to the regional million dollar chase.
SPEAKER_00Nice, mate.
SPEAKER_02Anyway, back into the 40 Thursday night we opened with Pandrith and Storm. Pandrith got the Chalkies there with three of the bin through the game, mate.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, um they got our dumb by in a way, didn't they? And that's still too pretty good. Um yeah. Class effort.
SPEAKER_02Ed the upset of the week, in my opinion. Raiders vs Broncos. Broncos 34 or Raiders 30.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I actually wasn't watching this game. Um I was out somewhere and I checked my phone and Broncos were in front, and I was like, Yeah, right.
SPEAKER_02Thought Big Papa's game they'd get up for this one. Raiders were um bit of an anchor in a couple multis there.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it's a bit disappointing to be fair, and I think the Raiders boys would have been pretty disappointed with their efforts as well.
SPEAKER_02Absolutely, then Dolphins 34 defeated, Ewers 16.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, Dolphins going really well at the moment. They got strike all over the park, which I said last week.
SPEAKER_02Not much to say there. Premiership muscle flexed, E was a little bit worrying, but you can skip this one if you want. Yeah, look.
SPEAKER_01I'll tell you what, I'm I I was glad I was at the races and not the footy. Very disappointing.
SPEAKER_02As disappointing as it was. Nah, fuck that. You said a very uh hurts a lot. Old foe. Um 97 grand final. Um we beat Yu Sand. Nuff said, I think. Stuff Jeff Tuve. Warriors 45 defeat, South 26, mate. It's why it seems hot to handle.
SPEAKER_01Mate, they are going really good. Um very impressed how they're flowing through their uh their spine at the moment. They've just got so much depth in this team. Um, they're looking like a real finest contender.
SPEAKER_02Um their halves have been like a lazy Susan at a Chinese restaurant. It has been rotated the whole time, and this team is still putting up an absolute performance big premiership threat. Yes. But I do believe they'll have a speed hump on their road to premiership this week. Unfortunately they always do, don't they? And we head into Doggy's Defeat the Dragons 44 to 14.
SPEAKER_01As expected, pretty much, wasn't it?
SPEAKER_02Blunt rotation game. Um two boring sides to watch. Yeah. I agree. That was a rough game.
SPEAKER_01Celebrating Autumn Glow.
SPEAKER_02Sharks 30, defeat Titans 22.
SPEAKER_00I yeah. Yeah. Sorry.
SPEAKER_02Sharks are sharks. Yeah. Titans a little bit of a late comeback.
SPEAKER_01Um not making top four.
SPEAKER_02No. No. And you know what? I said upset of the week earlier. I think this is upset of the week. Tigers defeat the Roosters 25 to 24. Look. Last week I come in here and said this game would be like Australia vs. Bangladesh.
SPEAKER_01Um I'll just say something real quick. He did say it'd be like Australia vs. Bangladesh first game. Umracle kind of. Yeah. I also said that it's a 24 and a half start. Um, and I said, I'm not game enough to take that on Sunday game day footy. This bloke over here said, I'll be pounding that. What happened? They lost by one. So, good tip once again, mate. Bast segment. Roosters, you are on fire, mate. Well done.
SPEAKER_02Anyway, we head into round 26, the penultimate round of the rugby season. And it starts off with a Thursday clash between the Brisbane Broncos and the Melbourne Storm. So, what we'll do, guys, is each game we will choose one leg and we will chuckle. Into a multi, um, we'll and we'll upload that to the feed. Put it on the Instagram as well for you to follow along. Um, obviously, some of the greatest rugby league minds in the world sitting here. So, who have you got to win in this one though, mate?
SPEAKER_01I got Bell put in this one, mate. How about you?
SPEAKER_02We just I don't know who's gonna show up.
SPEAKER_01I think both their seasons are done, but yeah.
SPEAKER_02Um I think I'll be tipping I think I'll be tipping Broncos at home, mate. Really?
SPEAKER_01I think I'm not trying to steer you away or anything, but I know Hughes is back. Well Broncos record at home has been terrible this year. I think they've won one out of eight games or something. One out of six games, sorry.
SPEAKER_02Look, that might change by the time we get to kickoff. Um and our leg for that one, mate. I was keen on Cortoni Staggs, you were keen on Tyrone Wishit, so we've put them into either play out to score one try. And we move on to the Friday 6 pm game, mainly dragons.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, blunt game, in my opinion. Um, two shit teams.
SPEAKER_02Um you've got to go mainly at home, don't you?
SPEAKER_01I think I honestly don't know. Um, I think mainly just because last game rookie for the season, but wouldn't be tipping with confidence if I told you that.
SPEAKER_02Look, not to use a cricket analogy again. Um obviously I think the dragons forward pack is like Mitchell Stark, and the mainly forward pack is like my co-host over here in the Nets. I think if there's gonna cause an upset, I think the dragons through the middle might be a little too strong for him. Um, but in saying that, I'm expecting a big game from Hamole Olikawatu. I think a little drown of weight, and you were keen on Lehigh Hopawade, mate, so we put them together for a dollar twenty-two price there.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, are you sorry mate? Are you just saying Mitch was Stark first over, or were you just saying Mitch was Stark for Dragons forward pack? Because this is there's a big difference.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, look, it can't be first over.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, okay, that's it. It can't be.
SPEAKER_02Uh we're still talking about the dragons here.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, 100%.
SPEAKER_02So, yes. Alright, we move on to Friday. Probably slated as a big game. Last season we've seen the doggies get the edge, but it's Penrith Bulldogs here on Friday at 8 pm.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Um last time these two two teams versed, doggies were very impressive. Um they had Penrith in a bit of a in a shock at I I would say. Um Penrith didn't really know what to do. Bulldogs were just throwing the ball around and paid off. Um I think under I think we were under 45 and a half. Tim will get that to the second. I think that is an absolute moral. So, team, why don't you lead us into that bet for this game? Well personally. Yep.
SPEAKER_02We didn't talk about this earlier, actually. Here we go. I've got Penrith by Annihilation. I think I think they'll do the Douggies pretty well here.
SPEAKER_01Why don't you change the bet, mate? If you're so confident.
SPEAKER_02We have got four under 49 and a half total match points, and we've combined Jenkins and Preston any time. Obviously, meant to choose one leg, but as Cameron here said, under 49 and a half is a moral.
SPEAKER_01100%. But if we're betting with a bit of confidence here, we'd add Penriff to win, wouldn't we?
SPEAKER_02Maybe something to follow up on the feed. Anyway, as we headed to Saturday, 3 pm, rabbido's end rabbido team, mate.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, they've got to get up for Jai, I think. It's it it's really good to see what NRL doing for Jai this week. Um last two rounds, getting his 100th game.
SPEAKER_02Um Gai Arrow Bowl, of course, Titans Rabido's here as well.
SPEAKER_01Yes, yes, 100%. Um hopefully he takes a hit off off the back fence, eh?
SPEAKER_02Perhaps, yes. Um, yeah, look, we've taken Rabidos minus five and a half with a pick you're in line there in the multi, and I think it could potentially be more, but playing it safe with that one, mate.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I think Titans is just still missing um Zayn Harrison at the half. I just think they're missing a quality half back there, and um, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Alright, as we head into the 5 30 game, this is a good clash here. I'm excited for this one. Russes at home taking on the Dolphins.
SPEAKER_01Tough game this one. Um I think Rusis will prove too classy over the Dolphins here after last week's performance. Um, I think they will tone up their defense as well. Um, yeah, that's about all I've got to say, to be fair about you, Tim.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I think the same. I think the Roosers will get the job done, especially if Teddy's back, bounce back, bounce back. Um in saying that though, we've gone for two dolphins try scorers. We've gone for Herbie or Azarko, either to score a try there.
SPEAKER_01I mean, sorry, mate.
SPEAKER_02Good value about that one, I think.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, 100%. But it speaks for itself in a way. Uh, I think Jermaine will line up against Marky Mark, which Marky Mark is probably respectfully the most decent defensive threat on the Bruce's team. And Herbie will be against Hugo Savala, so speaks for itself in a way. I just if at least one of them don't score, then we're doing something wrong, you know.
SPEAKER_02And right, we head into Saturday 7.35 game. Ladies and gentlemen, strap yourselves in it's Cowboys Tigers. We've seen this game a 70 to I feel both ways. Um rough way to start Saturday night or end Saturday night. End Saturday night, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Hopefully I will be um almost in bed by that time after a good day of racing and a couple beers, um, because I will not be watching this game, I'll tell you that. Um Cowboys, I think. Yeah, Cowboys, Townsville, but don't trust it.
SPEAKER_02Tigers were hopeless. Hopeless. They beat Sydney Roosters. I thought they'd I think Cowboys are gonna win here though. Coming off the back of the bike, still fighting around that eighth spot.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, they've got to get a win soon-ish, or very soon, to keep their finals hopes alive.
SPEAKER_02And for that reason, we've just gone Cowboys head to head in this game.
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_02Alright, starting off on Sunday. Match of the round always is the Newcastle Knights taking on the New Zealand Warriors. And honestly, man, I've got to say, I think we're a bit over the odds here. What are we at, mate? 372 on sports.
SPEAKER_01Wow. Wow. What is the line, mate?
SPEAKER_02Let me just get that one. Obviously, needing a bounce back from last week. The line has been set ten and a half.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it's probably it's yeah, I don't know. Boys bounce back. Warriors are flying, but I think Knights were in a great chance. I just don't know, ten and a half a dollar ninety. But I'd I'd rather take 370 for a win, you know. Um that's a good price. Um look, tough game to win. Yeah. Tough game to win.
SPEAKER_02But if we do lose two, you know. Got a couple players out of the bottom. It's probably better to lose two before finals. The only way at rock bottom is up. And so confidence might take a hit, but the boys are gonna get up and about it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02And you know, this New Zealand fall back. Freaky. But I remind you of this bloke, mate. Um there's a one jersey named Kalen Ponger. And I think he can create a little magic saying that I will be tipping the Wars twin.
SPEAKER_01What's that leg? Does it involve Kalen Ponger?
SPEAKER_02Yes.
SPEAKER_01It does.
SPEAKER_02So the logic here, left side, strong side, and to quote my good friend Cameron here, this leg's a moral. I did Marju into Brabham Best, either play to score one try. Look, good luck tackling Greg Marju, respectfully, and Braddy best. Have fun, Leco. Yeah, but this is our real setup players on the rugby league, mate. An origin setup. Stick to spot. I actually seen on Instagram this week. Someone choose Lecka over Brahman Burst.
SPEAKER_01Was that Andrew Voss?
SPEAKER_02Yeah. That Lake City. Yeah. Moving to the last game. Yeah. Such a Sunday 4 pm game, this one.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, um He was Krenoma. Another one like the Cowboys Tigers game. Hopefully I will be either one hungover and my TV not working. Two out with no TV. Or three. Blackout. So I will be not probably not be watching this game either, because it is a blunt game. Thoughts, Tim?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, just hope Nico or Iro scoring that one for us, because that is our combined leg. Look, I think Crenada should win. I think Par have been hanging in well in games that they probably had no right to hang in.
SPEAKER_01100%.
SPEAKER_02Alright, that wraps up the rugby league for this week. And the multi finishes as under 49.5 in the Penrith game into Jenkins or Preston. We've got Rabinos minus 5.5, Herbie or Azarco to score a try. Marju or Best to score, Hero or Hines to score, Stags or Wishart to score, Lehigh or Hamole to score, Cowboys to win, and you are getting 26.94 for that one. Juice. Juice. Juice. Alright guys. Thanks for joining us for our first episode. We will get both our feeds, we'll copy it down below. Also check us to follow on Instagram. That's where all the bets will be going up. And give us any advice, any tips. Let Cameron know how shit his tips are. Um hopefully we're back in horses, not donkeys this week.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, two things as well. We also got some lovely little merch, which is great. Um not selling as of yet. Um also keep an eye out on the Instagram for our quaddy. Probably we'll we'll release it Friday or Saturday morning. And yeah, right.
SPEAKER_02Last week, last week, very good in the quaddy.
SPEAKER_01One for one.
SPEAKER_02945. We got 50% of 954, actually. And I I believe the investment was 70. 72, yeah. 72 dollars there. So good return off the first quarty. Let's keep it rolling.
SPEAKER_01You know what that calls for?
SPEAKER_02Oh yeah. Oh yeah. Alright. We will see you next week.
SPEAKER_01Cheers, guys.
