The Unsaid Podcast
Welcome to The Unsaid Podcast with your hosts Courteney and Darby - the podcast that covers everything in the group chat and even the conversations we don’t always have.
We’re two moms who realized that some of the best conversations happen after bedtime — when the kids are asleep, the house is finally quiet, and we can actually say what we’re thinking.
Here we talk about the messy parts of motherhood, relationships, friendships, and all those ‘is it just me?’ moments. All while keeping up with the latest of Bravo TV, true crime and all things pop culture.
We started The Unsaid because we wanted a place where we could be completely honest, laugh at ourselves, say the things we’re all thinking and hopefully make another mom feel a little less alone.
Because maybe you don’t need another mom friend.
Maybe you just need the one who gets it.

In this week's episode we dive deep, and we mean deep into the minds of Lindsay Clancy and Hayden Panitierre and post partum illness. Did we just say out loud what we all may be thinking? We definitely did this week, with our very own ‘Mom Court and You Thought It, We Said It’. Ending with a BANG (you’ll hear) while discussing Darby’s intrusive thought since her oldest started preschool.
Welcome to episode one of the Unsaid Podcast with Courtney and Darby, the podcast that covers everything in the group chat and even the conversations we don't always have. We are two moms who decided that once our kids are finally in bed and instead of going to sleep like reasonable adults, we get together and have a glass of wine and just yep for an hour. Yeah. One night a week. One night a week. Because episodes on Tuesdays. And we'll have set topics, right? And some recurring. So to start off today, we're going to cover Lindsay Clancy updates. Yep. All things postpartum related to her. Filter that into a hidden paneteer. And then we want to introduce a segment we want to have recurring called You Thought It We're Saying It. And then one called Mom Court, which we'll explain once we get to have some fun. And then we're going to end with either something, maybe motherhood, mental health, and then today's going to be intrusive thought topics. Yes. You want to kick us off? Yeah, sure. Okay. Okay. So Lindsay Cleansey. Hot polarizing topic. An ongoing trial. Ongoing trial. Yep. So for us, we wanted to just everyone kind of knows what's going on with Lindsay Clancy, let's be honest. But just for those who don't, just like a quick little, quick little bit. And then next week we want to talk about like all of the like the theories. The theories. All the speculations. All the speculations. Because that is some. I mean, did he do it? All of that. Which everyone's thinking that. Today's more of like her. Yes. Focus on Lindsay. Yes. Because postpartum illness is kind of our topic. More of like our topic today. Yeah. For sure. So we kind of just want to Yes. Okay. So Lindsay Clancy. She is on trial right now for the suspected murder. I would say. I don't like that. She's on trial. I don't like saying she's not convicted yet. No, she's not. But I mean she is on trial for murdering her three kids. Yes. Yeah. And she has admitted to doing so. Mm-hmm. Well, has she? The only person that's ever heard it is Petra? True. No one's heard her say it out loud. I guess maybe a therapist afterwards? Right, afterwards. But she also said she was having voices. Right. And that was never said before either. That's what's very weird is that all that is now her psychiatry, that was after it happened. I know. Right. Which also a topic is that she's never heard voices prior. Right. Wait, really? Yeah. No. No, you're right. You're right. Every so when we want to do high-level update, we've already done it for we're already digging in. Yeah. Right. So it's August 20th, I don't even know what the date is. 25th. August 25th. Yes. Prosecution has rested its case. Defense is up. Okay. Yes. Speaking of, did you see today in trial that he called for a mistrial? Yes. And it got denied. But he only did it on the basis because religion was brought up. Okay. And so someone had asked me this earlier. I was getting my law terminated. And my esthetician was like, why can you not bring up religion? And I didn't know this either. It's because of the separation of church and state. So we don't want to bring jurors into like beliefs and things like that because then you can't think of the law as black and white law when you bring in the topic of religion. Okay. Because she kept saying, like, my kids are with God. Right. She said she was a Catholic, things of that nature. Oh, okay. So that's kind of why the topic of mistrial was brought up. Okay. Not because the prosecution has failed to do its job, as some people's opinions say.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_00But I thought that was interesting. Very, and so it is really hard to get a mistrial, apparently. Okay. And I think off something as little as just bringing up the Catholicism wasn't gonna do it. But interesting. I thought that was like 100%. Especially because they stopped the trial midday before that. Well, I know. And so, and right, there were so many speculations on that. The speculations is like a whole topic in itself. So and there's so much to say that we want to talk about with that, but that's not today, right? Today is so postpartum depression. So, and so Lindsay Clancy, again, this trial, she's she's not on trial. It's not who it's not did somebody else do it. It's Lindsay Clancy murdered her three children. Was she criminally in the right mind? Criminally insane. That's what they're insane versus in her right mind. Right. Which we we got together and to do this podcast, we've talked about this before. And honestly, in the last like what two days since we've had this last conversation, in my opinion, my head's way back. Okay. I'm kind of thinking she was criminally in the right mind. What? I know. Shut up. I was so team, which is next week's episode, Patrick. And now we I don't know if psychosis, it's so rare, first of all. We were we had discussed previously that depression and psychosis are completely two different things. Postpartum depression and postpartum psychosis are completely two different things. So she has multiple diagnoses. Yes. She had been accused of like doctor shopping and all kinds of things. And to be quite honest, can you doctor shop for something that's so rare? Sure. She's trying to find help, and there's not really a lot of specialists out there that cover psychosis. Right. So I feel like that doesn't do her a justice for helping her get the help she needed. Especially because some of the like practitioners that she did have literally stated that they did not have any like the only expert expertise, quote, they had in postpartum health care was in residency. Yeah. That's so she was failed on a whole level. Yes. Okay. But the reason why I think I'm leaning towards more she was criminally in her right mind. And I hope I am wrong. This is a night and day for me, like 48 hours ago. 48 hours ago, I was like, gee, I like I don't think she even did it. And now I still 40% of me believes that Patrick or some other party was involved. But to focus on her mental health, I do think she was in her right mind. One clue stuck out to me the most. She did not mention hearing voices to any of the multiple doctors that we just said she doctor shop. To except for after it happened. And for someone seeking help as much as she was, messaging doctors, I can't sleep. This isn't working. I, you know, I want to hurt I want to hurt myself and journaling. Don't you think she would have journaled the voice? Don't you think she would have told one of the doctors? Don't you think, like, hey, is this the side effect of this medication? She's asking all these questions. Don't you think she would have Googled it? Okay, sure. Okay. No, I uh she googled everything else. But the man's voice that's telling her, but if you're if you're saying, because you said that you would be heartbroken if it came out. I would be heartbroken if I was. So if you're saying if you're saying that she that you think that she was sane. I do. It's um break it's breaking my heart. So it's breaking your heart. I don't want to be right. Let's clarify that. Okay. I hope in a week from now when we talk about all the speculations that you were seeing on TikTok that the case has been close. Like hopefully this trial wraps up for all of their sakes quickly. But I'm hoping by the time we do episode two, we don't have anything left to talk about because it's like about Lindsay Clancy because it's been a verdict. And I hope I'm wrong. Okay. Let's just put that out there. Nobody wants to believe that a woman just murdered her kids in cold blood. No. To support that, did she send him out on an errand? Did she send him to go get food? Do I think the timeline matches her being able to do that? Do I think a nurse that do I think a nurse that would have not been able to? She she failed three methods of trying to take her own life. Unless she didn't really want to die. But then why would she jump out of London? Yeah, like why would that be the way that why would you just like be passed out from one of the first two or magic? Okay. Crush like she crushed a bunch of hills and then slit her ribs on her body.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Either of those would have sufficed as an attempt if that you were trying to look like I got my kid and now I want to take my own. Okay. So so that dives into theory, like, because that could go into like a big theory jump. So I theories have to be discussed, just not today. But I have an opposite opinion as you.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_00I think she was insane. Like I think that she just broke. That was her break. Yeah, I think that she was experiencing postpartum psychosis. Okay. I do believe that she was hearing voices. Do you think not only as a therapist, you know, you're a mental health therapist, and I'm a PA, but I don't specialize in this either. You could just hear voices one time and act on it. If that was her first time hearing them. I think that I think that it's very plausible that she didn't hear voices before, and then she did hear voices. And is that with her breaking point? And that was yes, I think that I don't think that was maybe the first time that she heard voices per se. But I think it is plausible that she had heard them before and maybe just didn't mention like maybe she didn't understand to support your theory. Not theory, but support one of the case. If she was in her criminally right mind and she was gonna use voices as her backup, she would have said it as like fake, like she would have lied about it. Right? Don't you think? Like as a nurse, she's probably smart enough to say, like, I'm gonna try to be criminally insane. Although, did she think she was gonna survive as well? I don't think she thought she was gonna survive. I mean, would she then why would she vindictively do it? Because she did she did say, like, she thought that she was keeping her her kids and herself safe, like they're safe now. So I I do think that she thought that she was not going to survive. I just don't I get it. As a nurse, why why did she do like why is that her method? Her method's interesting. Uh-huh. And this is why I flip-flop every time I have this conversation because even during this one, I'm kind of back on the fact that like no mom could do that. Okay, and I think that that's why, like, to me, and I think that that I think I I've said this to you before. If she is faking her reaction, like her reaction hearing about the autopsies of her children and like the res first responders, like going into detail of what they saw, the anguish. Yeah, she needed one announcement. Like, this would be Oscar level. It's like she's hearing it for the first time, like she's like reliving it for the first time. So I'd like clear mind. She was not, I do not think she was in her right state of mind at all. I think she was completely in a different realm of reality. Yeah. And I feel like you kind of have to be. I I don't know how you can fake anguish. I just don't. I would be completely and utterly shocked if that woman could fake it. Well, especially because I'm getting a lack of emotion, Patrick gives. Yeah. You see that end of the spectrum, yeah, and then to see her. Yeah. Where who's faking what? I and also, like, everyone who's on everyone who's providing like their testimonies for her, like testifying on under oath, is saying that she was such a good mom. Like they were literally like, she's such a devoted mom. Her kids were her everything. That's all of her journal entries. Like, how do I be a perfect mom? Even the girl on the channel. She's mad at herself that she's not doing it perfectly. I think one of her previous coworkers was on trial stating that, oh, did you see that? Whatever they were talking about. And like they were talking about Yates. They were talking about the that right? Is that what you're talking about? Yes. That's the woman that killed her kids, and that they were talking about that postpartum when that she cried. And she said, How could anybody do kill the kids? I'm sorry. To like give testimony that like she would not. Yes. So you were telling me So now you're flipped. Like here we go again. This woman in her right mind. No. I need someone to give me a synopsis, like of of each like the prosecution side, which uh my personal opinion is I do not think the prosecution did their case on proving that she was correct. Like their job is to prove that she was in her right mind and killed these kids. Yeah. Why are we hyper focusing on the timeline of Patrick Aliency if uh it's to prove that she did it? The only thing I think on prosecution you need to say is did she ask you to go CVS and did she ask you to go get food to get you out of the house? Yes or no? Like, why did we go into the timeline if you're just trying to figure out she was criminally in her right mind? You know what I mean? So there's so much else going on in this trial that makes you have speculation that that it's hard enough to see is he involved or was she in her right mind or was she in front of there's just so much that you can flip-flop. Someone needs to like lay it out. Yeah, we I know, which I know at the end, I think. I would love to watch that one's live of the when they go through their points. What's it at the what's it called at the end? Uh the oh you know what I'm talking about? Yeah. My sister-in-law's an attorney are shallow. Shoot, I mean, you know, like the prosecution like rest their kids, not press their case essentially. Yeah, yes, but they go up and they give their little spiel, yes and then the defense goes and gives his little lash spiel and summarizes it all. I want to listen to that. Maybe recap because I'm I even though I have watched like a lot of like the trial itself, I do feel like social media is still telling me things, and so I want it like I need it to be more clear again, too. Like let's like wrapping it up with a bow. Okay, what was trial versus what was social media? Because even though I did watch trial, I've seen so much more social media at this point. So I just want to make sure, like, I totally agree with you. But I do at the end of the day, I think I I can confidently say that I do believe that Lindsay Fincy was experiencing psychosis, was experiencing psychosis, and to kind of maybe even pivot that into maybe our next topic of Hayden Paneteer. Because unfortunately, we've lost another soul who suffered from postpartum depression. Yep. Also had a side of addiction to it too. But who's to say that she wasn't on a same like route? Which is I don't like saying that because we had talked about previously one thing we wanted to like reassure moms or people in general, especially ones that are expecting kids and stuff, is that like postpartum depression anxiety and all the things are very common and they're very natural, but not necessarily ever guaranteed right to turn into psychosis. Yes. So you should not be going into it being scared, or even like postpartum depression, like just because you're postpartum does not mean that you necessarily are gonna have postpartum depression, postpartum OCD, postpartum anxiety. All of the each pregnancy, I think, comes with a different, yes. And that was specifically for me too, right? I didn't experience any of it with my oldest, and then I didn't until eight months with my middle, and then pretty quickly after my third, but so every postpartum experience does look different, but we we don't want to scare pregnant moms, yeah. Like that this is necessarily gonna happen. And we also like just because we have experienced our own postpartum experiences, we're also, even though we are having empathy for Lindsay Clancy, which is weird because again, we don't have empathy for moms who murder their children. Let's just be freaking quite honest. We just quite we just don't. There's a reason why people didn't back up sleeping. Right. So, like, that's what's so wild about this. Like, why like we we are two moms who absolutely adore our children? We are not defending a mother who murdered her children, no, and also, like, I think that's also what we want to say too. Like, we want everyone wants justice for these children at the end of the day. I mean, it's it's horrible what happened. But just because we had a postpartum experience, we don't we don't necessarily we're not trying to relate with Lindsay Clancy, no, but we do want to say, like, we do want to like mom to mom, two moms who have experienced postpartum anxiety, postpartum depression, we just want to we want to we create that space, right? But I think that's why we decided we contemplated this podcast for a while, and I said, let's just jump the gun and try. Granted, first episode, guys, but because of the relevance of Lindsay Clancy, yeah, postpartum depression, and then unfortunate with Katie Canaphier 2. Yes. So it's like, how do we bridge the gap or get people talking about postpartum depression and let people know that it's common and it happens, you're not alone. Yep. You have moms that get it, you and I right here. Yep. And that literally, I think it's like less than one percent. Like it's very rare the Lindsay Clancy. Yes, open the doors for us to be able to take something so negative and shed light on it and maybe help one other mom. That's really that's it. That's actually to kind of why we're here. Yeah, to sum that up in so many ways. Yes. We would love to highlight on the speculation the social media sides of Lindsay Clancy, just because there's so much tea with that. There's so many things that people are thinking that we just want to say. That would be the I don't want to say fun part because there's still like it's still a sad thing. But that would be more like, ooh, let's hear your thoughts. Like, let's spill it. Like let's hear all the TikToks, let's hear all the speculation. Yes. But to keep it on the females and what they were going through, like we thought we could bring in Hayden Paneteer. Right. So Hayden Paneteer, she passed away on August 16th. Yep. Found in an apartment in Greenville, South Carolina, at the age of 36 years old. Just a few years older than Fort and I. Um, there's an ongoing investigation and a pending autopsy to depend like to determine the cause. She did also have a history of postpartum depression. Yes. And there's been several interviews with uh people kind of talking about her career and kind of what contributed to that, and one of which was with her mom. Her mom had mentioned in an interview, I think, this week, that she noticed a change in her when she was 16. She had just gotten hired on for the role of heroes. Yeah. She'd been a childhood star. Let's just start there. She did commercials since the age of one. Yeah, she's so freaking called. Oh, she's been in the spotlight since the get-go. Which we want to eventually just don't don't let us forget this. We want to like talk about like childhood actors. Oh. Tell like for another day. How it has completely like their psychology and all that. Amanda Bynes. Yeah. Oh. How many episodes would we need to cover that? Poor thing. And I loved her. I loved all her stuff. Side note, this is we'll come back to Hayden, but this is actually like kind of funny to me. Ellen did a interview with the moms of Lindsay Lomion and Amanda Vines once. I have to go, someone needs to quote me on this because like I might have made this up. I know I didn't. I know I didn't make this up, but I can't tell you when this happened. But so I remember Ellen doing an interview with both of them, and Amanda Vines was going, Amanda Vines' mom was going on about like just raise them right and they'll just follow suit.
SPEAKER_01It's like honey, that did not lane.
SPEAKER_00I'm gonna have to look that clip up and then we'll circle back. I'm gonna I'm gonna send it to you on the case. Yes, Amanda Vines, that would be a real good one. Lindsay Lahane even, but she has she's she's turned a corner. Yeah, oh no. I remember Joey for Christmas. I thought she's done like two Christmas movies. One was a little cheesy. I can't remember what the name of it was, but one of them was really good. I really like it. There's like one where she like falls down a mountain or something, and like yeah, yeah. That one was that was the cheesy one. But whenever she like went, it was like more of like a romantic comedy, was the one that I enjoyed. That one was cute. Yeah, loved it. No, she's coming back. Okay, sorry, here we are. Okay, back to Hayden Painted here. Okay, interview with her mom. Yeah. I think you wanted to highlight on her mom a little bit. Well, I just I just think that she had like I think that was more so just like the estranged relationship that she had with her mom, which probably played a part, which I mean how did that imp like just impacting like her as a mom? And then I think I don't know. I think I I think when I talked about this with you, I don't I don't think that was one of my main points. I think you wanted to actually talk about the news today. Yeah, that was what I really wanted. So I think okay. Oh, I think I remember what my my point about her mom. Here we are. I know we did have a good point at once about the mom and we'll get better at this with time, you all we'll get better at this with time. Maybe we'll see. Yeah, I don't know. Okay, so her mom uh was showing so much emotion in this interview. I know, and it literally made me think about Patrick and Lindsay Clancy. The anguish that you see in Lindsay Clancy, Clancy, you can see in the Mama Pain Pancer. Because at the end of the day, especially as a parent, like you don't you love your you love your kids. Yeah. No matter what you're going through, plus part of depression, psychosis with Lindsay, or the estrangement with her mother, you don't not love your kids. And to see that emotion in both of them, but then yet hear Patrick Clinton sits emotionless. Yeah, sure. No, it pisses me off. Yeah. His interview after he ran his Boston marathon. Yeah. And they asked him a question about his kids, and he said they were wonderful people. They had a lot of friends. They were five. That's how you describe your that's how you describe your young children. Five, three, and eight months. I know. I'm sorry, but our kids go to preschool together. They're two. And I would say they're they're friends, but like they paralleled like there's so much more to say about these children. There's so like their smile, missing, cuddling up on we could go on. No, I know. And so anyway, that was what I wanted to highlight about our mom. Yes, that's I was hoping with Patrick, and we we'll talk about that. I was hoping they did rekindle things, but. Well and so she did she did mention in an interview recently because I mean what are the odds? So like that's what's so devastating about Hayden Pantier too is that she just now is able to like talk about her story. I mean she just wrote a book. She was just doing all these interviews where you got like so much insight into it seemed like she was turning a corner. I wasn't sure about that though. Okay. I don't know. You don't think she was turning a corner? I no.
SPEAKER_01Or that I think she wanted to. I think she wanted to turn a corner. Okay. Well, I don't I don't think she turned it yet. Okay. I mean, what? Why did she turn okay? Because here we are. I mean that's the obvious but okay.
SPEAKER_00Here's what I here's I think that she had a lot of feeling. I think a lot of feeling was happening. The dots don't connect for multiple seconds for me.
SPEAKER_01She was like, what do you mean they didn't turn a corner? We'll be back. We're on the girl.
SPEAKER_00I love it. I love it. I love it. Okay, but I think that she um like had come a long way. Absolutely. I just don't think she was quite there yet. Like, it's almost like she was saying things, but I just couldn't quite believe it's like she wanted to believe it, but I I don't think she did yet. And I think that like unfortunately, like five months later, here we are. I I do not mean that. No, I think that's hateful or bad insight that you can see like body language. I think her body language, like I think it was so sad. It was like there was something off with her mouth. It's like I mean, I think that she was just still in a very abusive relationship. I think that they were maybe like on off terms for like a millisecond when she was like really talking about some of these things. I mean, he was a freaking weirdo, weird ass freaking man. That is the news that dropped tonight. Holy crap. Okay, so then like as she's doing her interview simultaneously, he's doing an interview, and he's weird as shit. I mean like a dummy. Weird as hell. He's like, Well, she can say her story. Like, that's that's her story. I'm glad she's she's sharing her my Sunday girl is explaining. I'm sorry, what is that? But anyway, weird. Like Meanwhile, meanwhile, though, as he's doing all these interviews, it comes out today. This is the news. Right. That he had been or her HOA came out saying that he was not allowed that they were surveilling the property to make sure that he couldn't come onto her property prior to this. Yeah and that he was selling, like pawning her before her death belongings. Before her death. But then she willingly well, I don't know, that's the debate. Like willingly went from Los Angeles to Greenville with him. Like they were they went on an airplane together. Yeah. And then that's called 911 there with her with his pastor brother, which that's a whole other weird thing. There's a lot to unpack there as well. A lot of speculation. So I I social media side. I think that like with I think I mean, because we don't we're not just gonna talk about postpartum like every podcast, but just like mental health stuff, like domestic violence. Like this is a domestic violence case.
SPEAKER_01Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_00Yes, post she she experienced postpartum depression. I don't think that's contributing to her death. I no, I think there's a depression. Maybe her addiction. Yes, I think it contributed to her addiction. It contributed to her releasing custody of her child. Yes. Which we were like at one point thinking, like again, she didn't experience postpartum psychosis, but she did make that like the judgment that was pawned on her. So you're saying, like, would that should Lindsay Clanty have just said, like, I don't need to be around my children? That then she would have been judged hardcore. I mean, n nothing compared to what it I mean, her murdering her children. But like the hate that Hayden got for like as a mother giving away, like she voluntarily, like which maybe in hindsight her right now maybe in hindsight, people can look at Hayden's action of doing that as like, yes, you judged her, but in that space, the strength and the bravery the strength and the bravery to be able to walk away from your child. Like the hardest decision protect them. To protect them and work on yourself to be the better mother and teacher. That was not made easy. No, that was the hardest decision. I mean, that's still impactful, like that was still her biggest regret, her biggest, like that that was that to end up. Which we had talked about this in a separate. It was a personal psychosis, but in a separate conversation, we had said, like, did Lindsay even think that was ever an option because she was married with Patrick, like Hayden was had a rough their marriage was already rocky. I don't even know if they were technically married at that point, so it might have been a clear option to like maybe you go with your dad. Like so they probably were definitely not together. But how wild like like that that's even like she said like knowing that I'm not gonna see my kid on the weekends, I'm not gonna see my kid when I won't like you know, like that is the biggest decision that she ever made, and she made that very clear. So, anyway, we're not comparing Hayden and Lindsay because postpartum psychosis and postpartum depression are different, but it's still a very interesting conversation. Like the judgment that Hayden got for making that almost damn near impossible decision versus Lindsay felt like she had to be the perfect mom all the time, and then you know, whatever. So, which kind of ties into what we want to do weekly, yes, called mom court. Mom court, mom court. This is so funny. This is very fun, like super fun. Go ahead and get my iPad done off. Okay, so she's gonna introduce it for us. Yes. So mom court is where we want to introduce a topic, and we wanna one's gonna introduce it, and the other one's gonna say if they're guilty or not. And what I mean by that is we want to introduce something that maybe you have thought about, maybe you have done, or maybe you would never admit to doing out loud. Yep. As a mom, just as a friend, something kind of maybe a little controversial, yeah, that you're like, oh shit. Yep. And so one of us is gonna like you can even like chime in on this maybe on like our Instagram and stuff eventually, where we'll have like anonymous like polls. Yes, so we can get feedback. I love that so much. I know I do too. I think it's gonna be fun. So he loves posting a good poll on it. I just love like being interactive with everybody. I think it's you get a lot of insight. It's fun. And we want to have some really good stuff, right? And we want to say, like, okay, can we see both sides of this? Yes. But we want to make sure, like, this is the judgment free courtroom, judgment free. Mm-hmm. We're not here to decide if you're a good mom or a bad mom. We're just here to decide if you're guilty or just being a mom. Sure, sure. Because we, as moms, let's be honest, there's a lot of like mom guilt out there. And sometimes you just need someone to say, like, girl, you're not guilty, you're just tired. So here we go. First one, I'm gonna go first since we don't have any like feedback from the audience. Yeah. Is that what you call it? Yeah. Okay. So from mine, am I guilty or not for lying to my husband about getting cleared after my six-week post or postpartum check. Your six-week postpartum check for those who are either pregnant, you know, haven't had a kid, or are not a mom yet. Yep. You have to wait six weeks after having giving birth to be able to have intercourse. You gotta make sure everything down there is healed up. Yep. And let me tell you that is simply the fastest and the slowest, because you're in the newborn trenches. You have not slept or showered, you're disgusting, you smell horrible. Yeah. Things, you're wearing a diaper. Like to not get into the gruesome of it. These are the things people should tell people if they have kids. Yeah. So, anywho. I told my husband that it was a week after it really was. Don't you worry. They are waiting for it. They're counting down. They're counting down for the sixth week. So let me tell you, this is just a little funny tidbit about this. So I lied about it. I told him it was a week later to give myself an extra week to prepare. Okay. So Hugh comes home. My husband's name's Hugh. He comes home and he's like, hey, this weekend, I want to like, let's just do something nice to you and me. I've already called your mom. They're gonna watch the girls. We're gonna go to like a nice dinner. I've even got us tickets to like a comedy show. If we wanted to stay downtown, we could get a room. And I was like, and I was like, oh, that's so sweet. And I was like, this man's being thoughtful. He's like, you could use a break. I was like, oh, that's so thoughtful. All right, yeah, I could. And I was like, wow, like either I was like, okay, I was like, well, my appointment's like not until next week. He's like, honey, this is just like about you and me. Like, we need to like bond. It's just been about like weeks cleaning bottles and changing diapers, blah, blah, blah. And then romance back. Romance back. And so, like, I think it was like the day before that. It must have been that day. I'm like looking at our calendar to see like appointments, you know, like you have all the newborn appointments and like our older daughter's doctor's appointments and stuff like that. And I we have a shared freaking family calendar. Yeah, same. Shared. So on that shared freaking family calendar is Garby's six-week post-op appointment. On the same lost on our boy Hugh. Hey. That's our cute little date night out. I was like, this motherfucker. The mask starts to mask. The mass mathing. And I was like, this is this is a setup. So anywho, the point being of mom guilt is do you are mom are you guilty? Courtney gets to be the verdict on this because this is about me. Yeah. Guilty or not guilty for lying to your husband about getting cleared. So you can just breathe from it. Not guilty. There's gonna be very few of these that may be disaster guilty. I I will hit it real. Yeah. I'll be honest. I'll tell you I'll hit it real with you. Not guilty on that one. Pretty sure I lied to. Or like I fabricated. There was there was something that was something there. I own I don't know. I think Dr. Mice said that.
SPEAKER_01Oh, I'm not that I'm not although it's six weeks. Something down there looks a little off, don't you think?
SPEAKER_00I think so many people can relate to this. That I was like, they're like, okay, like, do you have any questions about your sixth week? And I was like, I mean, I don't know, you tell me that's what we're here for. And like they were like, they don't even that's what happened. That's what I told Patrick. I didn't, I didn't lie, but I was like, oh, they actually didn't mention it. I was like, so I don't know. Maybe it's not. Maybe we should call. Maybe it's not. They never answer. I didn't mention like that's not something they bring up. But that's like his number one question. And I'm like, no, it's funny because we were talking about like my medicine and everything else. They actually they feel like I'm feeling great. Thank you.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Glad you're so concerned about guilty darbs. Yeah. Thank you. Not not guilty. Thank you. You know what? I think I did it because the first pregnancy with LC, our oldest, I had told him I was like, I'm gonna go on this appointment because I had to, you know, it's time management with kids. You don't know how to like, I gotta pump and I gotta do all these things, and I gotta go to the doctor, and someone's gotta watch our child because God forbid I take her with me to the sixth week because I don't know how to parent yet, and I have left the house once. Yes. So I told him, yes. So this time around, I was like, let's be smarter. Yeah. No?
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_00Not guilty. Not guilty. All pregnant moms. Okay, so I'd be interested. So like just like comment on a post. I don't know. We might have we might have like a little segment of this like that we can post on screen. I think you can pop it up, but just like comment on Spotify. Yeah, okay. Yeah. So just comment on there. I'm just very curious what people think on that. Yeah. Am I guilty? Is she guilty? Are she not guilty? Share yours. Cheer experience some insight. Yes. So we might like every once in a while have little polls that talk about this because we are gonna have this. This is gonna be like one of our like reoccurring mom courts ones. Mom court. Yes, we love it. Another one that we want, yeah, to yeah, is so like kind of our tagline, you thought it, we said it. So we just want, like, we were like, well, why not make that like a weekly, yeah, that a part of our weekly thing? So one of those things where it's like, is it an unpopular opinion, or is it just something that like we just you're just scared? Not that you shouldn't say it out loud, but like you're scared to say it out loud. Like fear of what? Fear of judgment, fear of exactly is this cringe, is this it like I don't know, like just you're scared to say it for whatever for whatever god forsaken reason. For example, we just want to be your gals that say it. One would be you're you don't want to say out loud that you hate going to your friend's kids' birthday parties because they're torture, right? Yes, not me, no. Another one-year-old's birthday party. Wow, they added to my riveting. Look at that's an explaining guy. She's gonna have a smash cake and she's not gonna eat any of it. Actually, my favorite part. This is both we have two daughters.
SPEAKER_01This is where the first birthday is gonna be. And guess what? She will have a smash cake.
SPEAKER_00And I will be putting dinner. I will be right there recording it. It's funny, but I have a question. Okay, sorry, I just interrupted. No, you're fine. We gotta learn this banter backwards. But I'm actually the one that like sits down and like writes down all the guests for you. Like, oh, your Aunt Susie, you got them. Well, someone missed the mark on that with uh Rhodes or with Pody's birthday. They like did not someone let the mark the list got lost or something. So then I just had to do like a generic, I'm just like yeah, I know. Claim her. Next in line, it has to be her job. Yes, yeah, precisely. But okay, crap, I was gonna say something about her birthday. Dang it. I had it. But whatever we talked at the same time. That's the thing. Once uh had he's yeah, yeah, this is birthday. I like it's it's poof gone. Okay, whatever, it's fine. But anyway, yes, I think that that's just like a common thing. Like, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh. Okay. Are the first birthdays for the parent? Or for the kid? I think that's an interesting question. It's a hundred percent for the parent. For the parent, right? So it's like your kid doesn't even know it doesn't know. So it's just like a get together. Like, do you serve alcohol at your first at your kid's first birthday party? I did. Same. It was hot as crap in July. It was hot. And I gave them a motion because I did it in like brunch. Yeah. Okay, I didn't add her second birthday because that's just kind of interesting. Okay. They go to the kids' places. Like, well, we couldn't. It was at like a true kid's bounce house type thing. True. But I would have if they would have let me. Right. Yeah. That's the only way I can convince our friends to be that's all the parents. Right. Or the friends that don't have or my daughter's gonna be like, why don't I get invited to all of our my friends' parties? It's like because her mom said on her podcast that they're torture.
unknownThey're torture.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. First birthday parties, they're for us.
SPEAKER_01That's just an example of what we say you thought at least they're for us.
SPEAKER_00If you enjoy someone's kids' first birthday party, please tell me why. Okay, please, because guess what? This wasn't gonna be one of them. Actually, wasn't it? I just gonna give an example. I'm not even gonna we'll talk about another one. We have some unlock, but this one's just too good.
SPEAKER_01It's good, it's fine.
SPEAKER_00So that will also be it's just gonna be one of our recurring topics. Some court, you thought it, we said it. And then we always want to be like, we're gonna talk about motherhood because I'm a mom of three, she's a mom of two. Like, motherhood is gonna get brought up, but we also want to talk about just like real like friendship, mental health. We're we're both obsessed with like Bravo, pop culture. I'm a true crime junkie. I told Darby, I'm like, if I could talk about true crime for two hours, I could. And she's like, well, not everybody watches Day Line before bed, Courtney, so I guess it's gonna get old. But we're definitely wonder why you have intrusive thoughts. We wonder why I have intrusive thoughts. Speaking of, I'm sorry, what a cute little segue into intrusive thoughts, Darby. So we did a practice round before we like did our first podcast, and we had a little segment on intrusive thoughts. So when I just brought that up, and it's like, oh, perfect little segue, we kind of want to just include it because it had a fun little blooper in it. So it's gonna be not probably the smoothest transition, but we're gonna like add in our little event on intrusive thoughts. Yeah, to end our first episode. And hey, we're full disclosure around here. So just here it is. This is a fun little blooper. Yeah, okay, here it is. So now it's it's August 22nd, we're going back to school. I've sent in my oldest to preschool. Our kids go to preschool together, it's quite neutral together. And they walk in with their little backpacks that are too big, it's precious. I love it. Anywho, I have this thought that someone wants to kidnap my kid. I don't know why. This is mine of the week. I think it's relevant because it's like my first time sending my kid to school. And it's the first time she's been out of my home. So I'll preface that. She's been in my home, she's never done daycare, anything like that before. Yeah. So now I'm sending her out to put her into the hands of someone else. So like we leave the house a lot more. Today, even we went to a like a local I don't even know what it is, like a street fair. So they have like vendors and and she's in the, you know, she's in preschool now, so she wants to get out of the stroller and walk. And she was dancing into the street. She does. She loves to dance. So she's dancing to the music, but she's getting farther and farther away from me. Like, when I say farther, I mean like not holding my hand. Where do I draw the line? Like, so my intrusive thought, let's go to that. Was like, someone's gonna come and swoop her in and run across the street with her. Yeah, this was today. And so I'm like, now I'm trying to hold her. She doesn't want to be held naturally. She's doing it too. Yeah. She's doing a fit. So I'm like, someone's gonna take off with her. And I can't and I live out every scenario. Every scenario does she have to chase her down. Do I stay with Slim, my youngest daughter? Do I stay with Slim while he chases after her? Do our friends go after her? Like, do I just drop my drink and go? What's your instinct there? And that was just today's. I wasn't even meaning to add in there because Regional that brought this in Teresa thought up was preschool.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And we had talked about this the other day.
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_00I'm like, do I air tag my kid? Yeah. I know, like, what is like what does air tag even consist of? I would love to know. Because people are like, put it in their shoe. I'm sorry, but she her foot is like three inches. I mean, one of her shoes are in my garage. My friend did drop one. I was missing and I was like, well, you're never gonna wear that here again. You had shoes are one.
SPEAKER_01Shoes are because the size of her foot.
SPEAKER_00So she can't walk in it. No. And then what do you just like sew it into all of her clothes?
SPEAKER_01Like, I mean, if you watch Line, do you watch Line S?
SPEAKER_00Oh, we can go crazy on this. Do you watch Linus? I did watch it. I thought yes. Okay, so this season, like it's on her arm. And so like an air tag. Like spoil it. Yeah, no, like spoiler. Spoiler. But that's the main thing that they're trying to find. The tracker. I mean ear tag tracker. Is it like implanted or is it like a legit? That's an implanted. Okay, well, I'm not gonna implant my two. Ignore me.
SPEAKER_01We were going. You like our conversation?
SPEAKER_00This was actually good. We're back. Okay, that's our first episode. Now you should see the setup of these cords. It will improve, maybe.
SPEAKER_01Maybe, maybe not.
SPEAKER_00But now that I'm comparing Lioness.
SPEAKER_01In place trackers. That's the point.
SPEAKER_00Because I think someone's gonna kidnap my kid, like someone on Lioness. Yes. No, I'm not gonna implant something in our arm. Unless that might be anything. That might be your safest bed, Darby. I mean, okay. So back to back to the main point. Where are we gonna put the trackers in our children? They say they're back trackers, but wouldn't that be the first thing they get rid of? That seems like an easy toss out. And I can't so they're putting it into every item of the body. So do we put into change it out every time? Do we put it in their bodies? I think we're just don't track your kids. Is it homeschool? That was really fun. That's a wrap. I loved it. That's a wrap on episode one. We did it. Okay, so tune in next week. Next Tuesday. Next Tuesday. We are going to talk about the like further into the conspiracies. The Lindsay Clancy case. More like up-to-date pop culture topic. Pop culture topics, whether that be Hayden Pitiere, whether that be dot dot. We don't know yet. Stay tuned. Stay tuned. Yes. We don't think that far to advance. We will continue on though with Mom Court. Mom Court, which is at court. Oh, courts going to court. Courts going to court at court. Love it. Is he guilty or not? That's gonna happen. Okay. And then we are gonna continue our segment with you thought it we said it, but we thought it would be really fun if on Friday we put a little poll box on our social medias. So on Instagram, on TikTok. Yep. Other social media. Yep. Yes. Okay. So we're gonna put little polls and we just want to hear from you all, like what's something that you thought that you didn't want to say out loud for whatever the reasons, and we're here to say it. It'll be anonymous. But we'll just like pick one or two and bring it up and chat about it. Exactly. We'll be the ones to say it for you. But thank you for tuning in. We love you. We loved it. We love you all. And we're looking forward to Tuesday. Thank you for listening to the Unsaid Podcast. Two moms, you thought it, we said it. We hope you enjoyed.
