Sometimes life makes God feel distant — but feeling and truth are two very different things. In this episode, we unpack why God's presence never left, even in the seasons when you couldn't sense Him. Distance is an illusion the enemy uses to keep you from reaching out. God is not far. He never moved. It's time to stop living like He did.
Hello, Christians. This is Dallas Beecham. Stand by for good news. In Acts 20 and 24, while speaking to the elders of Ephesus, knowing full well that imprisonment and afflicti awaited him in Jerusalem, Paul declared that no threat, suffering, persecution, or future hardship could shake him off the mission Jesus had given him. Knowing all these things he said, none of these things move me. This will be the dominant theme for this week. Today's good news comes from Psalm forty six and one. God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Let that settle into your heart for a moment. When we step into a new week, we often carry the weight of everything weighing for us. Responsibilities, decisions, conversations, uncertainties. It's easy to feel like we're walking into Monday alone. But Psalms forty six tells us something different. It tells us God is present, not far away, not watching from a distance, not waiting for us to prove ourselves before he steps in. He is a very present help, meaning he is already here, already aware, already active. You don't have to go looking for him. You don't have to earn his attention. You don't have to convince him to care. He is present help right now, right where you are. The scripture says God is our refuge. A refuge is a shelter, a place you run to when life feels unshakable. It's where you go when the storm hits. It's where you go when you need protection, clarity, and calm. Some people try to make their own strength their refuge. Some try to make their plans their refuge. Some try to make other people their refuge. But God says, Come to me, I am your refuge. When your thoughts start to race, when your heart feels unsettled, when your weak looks bigger than your strength, you have a place to run, and that place is God Himself. The verse continues, God is our strength. Not God gives us a little boost, not God helps us if we're already strong. He is our strength. That means the strength you need today doesn't have to come from you. It comes from Him. When you feel tired, He strengthens. When you feel overwhelmed, He strengthens. When you feel unsure, He strengthens. When you feel like you don't have enough, He strengthens. Your weakness is not a failure. Your weakness is an invitation for God to show His strength. God is help in trouble. And then the Scripture says, He is help in trouble. Not help after trouble, not help once you're figured it out. Help in trouble, right in the middle of it. Whatever you're facing today, whatever is weighing on your heart, whatever is trying to steal your peace, God is not waiting for you on the other side. He is with you right in the middle of it. You are not walking into this week alone. You are walking with the God who is refuge, strength, and present help. So today when anxiety rises up in front of you, say God is my refuge. When you feel tired or stretched thin, say God is my strength. When troubles show up, say God is my present help. These aren't affirmations, they are scripture, they are truth, they are yours. And even knowing these problems exist in your life, you are able to say none of these things move me. I pray the good news today blesses your heart, strengthens your faith, and causes you to have a good day.
