Dear y’all, We have a lot to talk about. I started this because I don’t want to just “have” a platform. I want to be faithful with it. We’re gonna get together weekly and get down to the nitty gritty. Whether you've walked with God your whole life, whether you just found Him, or whether you really don't know what you believe, I invite you to listen.
Your friend, Macy
The thing I don't particularly like about social media is that I post all this content, right? It goes to thousands of people, millions of people, even. When I would much rather have one person over for coffee to sit in this chair with me, because I have two of them. You like these cheetah print chairs? If you're watching me on video, you can see it. Um they're kind of faded cheetah prints, kind of neutral. Um, shout out to my husband who went in at home with me, one of my favorite home decor stores, but it's like two hours away. And he went in there with me. He let me take pictures of him in the chair, visualize my new podcast setting, and he helped me haul two of them out and set up my new studio space in my office at home. You're probably wondering, like, what is this? This is obviously new. So, this is the part where I tell you what I'm doing and why I'm doing it. This is the intro of Dear Y'all. This is the best thing we got right now as far as feeling like we're having a conversation about life, about God every week, right here in these chairs over a cup of coffee. Or breakfast. Breakfast is my passion. I'd love to have you over for dinner too, cook you up some backstrap, vegetables from the garden. I mean, that's how we do it around here. What I'm trying to say is I've realized over the years people are my passion. Me and my husband feel that way. It's like people are the only thing you can take to heaven with you. When you think about it. You have all this stuff on earth. We work towards all these goals and having all these things. The only thing you can take with you is people. So we should be investing our time into them. Which is why I have created the Dear Y'all podcast. It's a passion project for me to be able to invest time into people by creating some auditory content that can be a part of their daily lives on the commute. Um, I'm I'm big on listening to stuff while I'm doing something else, like while I'm on a walk, while I'm running, while I'm folding laundry. I'm playing somebody's podcast or an audiobook or the Bible. Y'all, what God has done in my life is nothing short of miraculous. He is everything to me. What's been going on with me spiritually my entire life, but especially the last two to three years, it's worth telling. I feel like I haven't told the half of it. I've made an intentional decision to not just have a platform, but to be faithful with it. I feel like God has revealed this idea to me and He's shown me a vision of everything my little conversational podcast could be. Like he put the plans in my heart to create this cute little space in the corner of my office. He's given me the topics to talk about. He's been working on my heart, and he's been preparing my story for me to tell for a long time. Y'all might know that I do a lot of expos. I travel all summer long to these different events in person. I meet a lot of people, I sell my own merchandise, and these families come up to me, not just families, young girls, young guys, older people, families with kids. And you know, we always talk hunting, fishing, this and that. But it's pretty minute compared to people who come up to me and say, Thank you for talking about your faith. Never stop doing it. I need it. The world needs it. And it's not that the world needs me. It's not that these people need me to come on a podcast and talk about God and what he's done for me. They need God Himself. They need Jesus in their hearts. Living in the world and being of the world just doesn't cut it for anybody anymore. It's like we've tried everything, and it comes up short. There is such a void in the hearts of people that need a God so big to fill it. And I have felt increasingly led to talk about what God's done in my life and just help guide followers and listeners just to open their Bibles, to pray, to know God deeply and love Him, like I do. Like I do, but in your own way. I want to be that friend to you that you can turn on on Spotify or Apple Podcasts, wherever, YouTube, and you can shut out the noise of the world for a minute. You can talk about God with Macy. One thing I don't want my podcast to be is like me being this higher figure talking about God and scripture and someone that might know more than you, that um has been through more things, has a better opinion. None of that is true. I want to come alongside you and your faith. I want to talk about it honestly and openly. I want to reveal things about my struggles, about my walk with God that might make you say, wow, I'm not alone. I want to get down to the nitty-gritty, as they say. Faith is the main thing, and it will be kept the main thing. And I can't really talk about anything without bringing up hunting, fishing, southern lifestyle, and humor. So you can definitely expect those analogies and those fun conversations too. I want you to turn on my podcast and be pointed back to Christ, not towards Macy. And in that and in the preparations I've been going through to get this going, it's pointed me to Christ. It's sharpened me. Everything is about him. And I'm taking that more seriously in my content every day, or at least I'm trying to. So with the name Dear Y'all, you obviously know a letter has to be involved somewhere. I love writing letters. I love a thank you note. I love writing pen and paper. It's so southern, it's so endearing, so kind to write a letter. So dear y'all is my weekly letter to you. Or to y'all. The whole thing won't be a letter. It'll mostly be a conversation, but you can't expect a letter and just the thing that's on my heart that I've been dying to tell y'all. The thing that God taught me, the thing that God healed me from that I never thought would come. The thing that I got rejected from, that fell through that on the other side years later, I saw why, and something better came. You know, the Bible is God's love letter to us, and the more I read it, the more I fall in love with it, the more I fall in love with God, the closer I get to Jesus. And dear y'all is my letter to you. So who it's for is for everybody. Whether you've walked with God your whole life, whether you just found him, or whether you really don't know what you believe, I invite you to listen. And I have a seat for you. Again, I have two of these chairs, okay? I wish I had you over for coffee right now. I do plan to be on my podcast solo right now until I start integrating a few guests here and there. But for right now, it's me and you. And God. Going back to all these families that I've met at in-person events over the years, they say they love watching me with their kids. I do plan for this podcast and the message to be a great thing to listen to with your kids as well. And if it's ever not, like there's a topic that I think isn't for kids, then I'll flag that, I'll make sure you know. So I encourage you to listen in on your commute, on a walk, doing laundry. Hey, it's about time to listen in a tree stand. I always have like one air pod in when I'm in the tree stand. One ear is listening to the word or a good podcast, and the other is listening for deer steps. Oh, I can't wait. Lastly, I want to thank you for listening. And thank you for giving me the courage to press record. You don't realize what you've probably done for me if you if you follow me, if you listen in, watch my videos, hit like. Building that community over the years and having that support from people just like you has given me the courage to keep going. One thing I always say when I meet people in person and they commend me for what I post or whatever, I always find myself just saying thank you for that encouragement. They didn't have to stop and take their time to say that to me, but they did. They might think I hear it all the time, goes in one ear, out the other, but it doesn't. It goes straight to my heart and it keeps me going. It gives me the fuel that I need to put out more faith content. So thank you guys. And y'all, I guess we have a lot to talk about. So I'll see y'all next week.
