Today I want to talk about a subject that we rarely think about, and that is the word reality. And I think all of us probably think that we live in reality, that we live in the real world, but the world that we see and experience is limited because of our limited capacity to perceive it. And reality is really everything as it exists from God's perspective. Because from God's perspective, he sees everything, and consequently, he is able to define truth and ultimately judge every person on the planet because he has perfect knowledge, which we doubt. So we could say that to live in the truth is to live in the in reality, and the truth would be what actually exists from God's perspective. Lies or deceptions is a distortion of reality. And every one of us distorts reality, or reality is distorted because we can't see everything, and we can't see everything about others, we can't even see everything about ourselves. We're limited in our capacity to even know and understand ourselves. So a goal that we would have as we approached maturity would be to mature, it would be to move towards seeing everything from God's perspective. In other words, to move towards truth. So to come to the light is to come into the understanding of who we are and who God is. And to stay in the darkness is to hide from the light and practice deception. So God so loved the world that the world that he sent his only son and that the world through him might be saved. And he goes on further in that passage to talk about those who hide from the light and those who come to the light. And those who hide from the light, they hide because their deeds are evil. And those who come to the light want to see their deeds exposed in the light of truth. So I don't know where you are. Um, I don't know what you're going through, what you're thinking about, but I would encourage you to think about reality, think about living in the truth, think about living in the light. Paul says, or um he said in 1 Corinthians 13, uh, for now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face, now I know in part, then I shall understand fully, as even as I have been fully understood. So just to understand that we don't have all knowledge and all truth allows us to humble ourselves before God and say, God, I need you. And um you might pray this prayer, which Moses prayed, it's in Exodus thirty-three, thirteen. He said, Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found favor in thy sight, show me thy ways that I might know thee and find favor in thy sight. And God at one point says, My ways are higher than your ways, my thoughts are higher than your thoughts. If we're going to grow in the faith, we have to come to know God and to know his ways and learn how to think his thoughts. So let me pray for you. Uh, Lord, I thank you for each and every person that listens to this podcast, who wants to grow in grace and in the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. Um, we're all limited. And we're limited by what we don't know. So, Lord, give us a hunger for truth, a hunger for knowledge, and a hunger to know you better. I just pray that in Jesus' name, amen.
