SPEAKER_00

Hi everybody, welcome to the What Do We Know podcast. I'm Marissa. And I'm Anna. And I think my microphone's not loud enough. Hold on, I gotta turn it up. Okay, no, I think it's I think it's better. Sorry. To you in the future.

SPEAKER_01

It's fine. Surprise, we're back. Surprise! We're here. We were gone for like, I don't know. Two months? Something. It's okay. I was uh mentally unwell.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, you know what? That's very understandable. I think we all were a little mentally unwell.

SPEAKER_01

I was my child, Ruby, not to call her out, but we're calling her out not sleeping for like weeks. She was up, I kid you not, like five times a night. And I was losing my mind. And because she mostly wants to nurse back to sleep, so like it was on me, basically. Like every once in a while, like she I could rock her to sleep or air go rock her to sleep, but like most times she wanted to nurse to sleep. And I like was not getting any solid sleep, and I literally felt like a zombie. I felt like so out of it's like an out-of-body experience. I can't even imagine. So like any day, like as soon as like she was asleep and Remy was asleep, I would go to sleep because I knew my sleep was limited.

SPEAKER_00

That is so scary to me, that feeling. I like I love sleep and I'm I'm so sorry that you went through that.

SPEAKER_01

You know, I keep I mean, I'm not gonna say that it's over because like she still doesn't sleep through the night. Like, she's still up like maybe once, maybe twice a night for now. Could always get worse. Um I just like don't know what I did in this world to have two kids who are bad sleepers. Like Rem and now Remy busts my door open at like anywhere between 1 to 3 a.m. and wants to crawl into bed with me, which is fine. I don't care, but like, come on.

SPEAKER_00

They just want to be awake with you.

SPEAKER_01

With me, they just want to be up my ass all the time.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And we have a king-size bed, and Remy uses every square inch on that bed. The other night he was sleeping between me and Eric, and I woke up because like his I thought what I thought was his hand like fell on my head. I'm like, what the fuck? It was his foot. I was like, why is your foot in my face?

SPEAKER_00

You know, he can sleep with Andy. That's exactly what Andy does at night. They can sleep together and take up 5,000 king beds. Oh my god.

SPEAKER_01

But uh, that's been my main sh my main struggle as of late. There's plenty of other little struggles. That was the main one. So I apologize to in case anyone thought it like I like died or something. Um and also our credit card on our um podcast expired, and I haven't uploaded the new one, so I don't even know if our episodes are streaming right now. I have to go wait, let's see. I have to go in and fix it. They like downgraded our subscription or whatever, and they're like, if you don't put a new credit card in three days, we're deleting the last episode. It's like, okay, hold on, I'll do it later.

SPEAKER_00

Oh my god. Actually, my card just expired, too.

SPEAKER_01

One of like our many one of my many like bills that I have to like figure out.

SPEAKER_00

Um sorry, Andy's like hoofing and puffing at something out in the living room.

SPEAKER_01

Um Andy's always huffing and puffing.

SPEAKER_00

He's literally always huffing and puffing. I oh, so I had my I had an interview today and it was like with like the it was like the final interview and a like round of interviews that's taken, you know, like eight to seven months basically. And it feels that way. It actually hasn't, but I said something about like my company was talking about for a hot minute having a podcast, like starting a podcast, which is like a thing in the industry that I work in, like it's becoming a thing. And I brought it up in my interview because he asked me, like, you know, if I didn't get this job that I'm applying for, like, what would I do? I'm like, I don't know. I'm I'll probably like find something new to do. Maybe I make it I've been talking tossing around the idea about a podcast, and the interview or okay, I have never spoke uh like I've said hi to this guy, like I've like talked to him, he goes, 'Cause you have one already, don't you? And I'm like, uh how the do you know? So we're famous in my company.

SPEAKER_01

Uh great. Hello, Marissa's company. You're like, oh no. It's like, oh, these two mentally ill individuals.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, yeah. I um I don't have much to report in my life. I've been working a lot, like a lot. And you quit your part-time job. My part-time job closed.

SPEAKER_01

Out of business.

SPEAKER_00

Are they out of business? No, they're still in business, but not at the mall that I work at. But yeah. It was quite um drama. It was drama. Because I had a very I well, I can talk about it now, but I worked at Loft and just like I started because I was like, you know what, I could make some extra money at this time, like when I was at my old job. And then I got my new job, and I didn't really need that, but I liked the discount. Andy loves the drama. Um and then I was like, well, you know what? I like the discount. I like the clothes, I like the people that I work with. I'm just gonna hang around. I worked like one night a month.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And then the store was being closed, but nobody told me about it until the one day I walked in, and there's a sign that was like, store's closing. And I walked in, I'm like, what the fuck? You're not gonna tell me this? Like, I know I don't work here that often, and then um all all of a sudden they had me scheduled every weekend, every day for like eight hours a day. And I'm like, Bye! I'm so sorry, but I'm not doing this. Like, I know that I wanted I stayed for a minute because whatever, but I'm like, I am way too old to do this. Not saying it's like an age-appropriate that retail is an age-appropriate thing. I'm just saying, like, I'm too old to have another person boss me around and take my weekends away from me without ever giving my consent. You were like, you had like the flu and they wanted you to come in. I literally had a fever and they're like, psorry, it's the Friday before Christmas. Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Whatever. And then you quit in the um same fashion that we quit our Starbucks job, and you just texted her, like, I'm not coming in anymore.

SPEAKER_00

I texted her and I texted the boss, and I was like, Like, you know that I have a job, and you know that my schedule does not allow me to work at the at this at a store two days a week. So I'm like, I'm not, it's not really worth it for me anymore. And she just said, like, I understand. Did you say I understand, but can you please finish your shift? She said, You're exactly right. She she goes, I understand, but can you come in on Sunday for one hour? That's all I need you for. Yeah, one hour! I said, No, I'm so sorry, but I'm not doing that. You can find someone else. Get one of the high school girls, goddammit. No, thank you. So I quit, I quit that. Um, I joined a run club. I saw you are just an active lady. Yeah, but I call it run club, but it's not called that.

SPEAKER_01

What is it? It's called making strike.

SPEAKER_00

It's a run club. I call it run club. Like, oh, it's a run club at night. Um, and uh that's it. That's pretty much it. Cute. I was thinking today actually about how we've been doing this podcast for a long time. Pre-COVID. That's almost seven years. We have breaks though. We have of course, but my fault. No, like we had like we grew up a whole life on this podcast. Isn't that weird?

SPEAKER_01

Ugh. Yeah, because we started this podcast before I had any children. And before either of us were married. We were married, we weren't that weird. Sickening.

SPEAKER_00

Because I was thinking about talking about my interview and I'm like, wow, like when we started this, I we were in two totally different places.

SPEAKER_01

True. It's before my cremation. Yeah, we were like little kids.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, to be young again. Well, um before we uh, you know, reminisce, I feel that a lot has gone on since we've last spoke.

SPEAKER_01

I don't even know like all that's gone on since we last spoke. When's the last time we recorded? I I don't even know. I don't know. I know we were when last time we were supposed to record was like when the big like Epstein files drop. So that happened, the war happened.

SPEAKER_00

I don't I don't I was thinking about like what we were talking about today, and I'm like, do we even touch on the Epstein files or the war? Because at this point there's such huge, huge topics that's like where do you where do you even start?

SPEAKER_01

But you know what's wild? Well they're connected because they started the war to distract from the Epstein files. Because once the war started, no one's talking about Epstein files anymore. And I forget the exact number, but there was like like a week after the war started, the search for the Epstein files, like goo people that Google Epstein files like decreased by like 90% or something.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Sorry. Oh, what is my phone? Um You know, the something I did want to talk about with this, like with the Epstein files, is that I so many of our really good topics, and this is gonna sound shittier than I mean it to sound, but so many of the topics we covered that were like open, like cold cases or missing children's cases have been tied back to those damn Epstein files. Isn't that Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I I don't think we ever even talked about the potential John Binet connection to Epstein. And Madeline McCann. Madeline McCann, um the other the little boy.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. It's sickening. It's sickening, and like I don't know if you think about it from like a very like small lens of time, how much people have poured their heart and souls into these cases, like trying to find these kids and trying to help their families and for what? Like for what at this point? Their families probably sold them. You think so? I think so. I think John Bonet's definitely did. I think sh heran max around her were very wrapped up in the the pageant circuit.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Yeah. And there's like that potential photo that in Epstein's uh one of his houses that looks very much like Jamine. It's sickening. Yeah, I don't know. I think I told you like the one time I was talking to my mom and she's like, Did you hear about these files? And I'm like, Yeah, like she's like, I can't believe the things they're they were say they're doing to these kids. Like they're eating. I was like, what do you mean? I've been talking about this. And when and like when you know we would talk about it. We remember we got like a couple of like messages that are like, Oh, you guys are like sensationalizing this, and and like I'm like, I don't think we are. Like, I think this is really happening.

SPEAKER_00

Well we we got the heat, and this one pissed me off. We got the heat bad when we talked about the wayfare stuff. Oh yeah, yeah. Back in the day when we, you know, were we had our little thing going on, people gave us heat for talking about wayfare. Yeah. And now look at now look at us.

SPEAKER_01

Well, e that and like, you know, people always say like the conspiracy theorists are like, the rich are eating babies, or like I'm like, mmm like we've been talking a lot about Alex Jones in our household.

SPEAKER_00

And um gay frogs. But like a lot of the stuff he said, a lot of the stuff he said is great, like bullshit, but a lot of the other stuff he said is true.

SPEAKER_01

What's the saying? Like, even a broken clock is right twice a day.

SPEAKER_00

Turn the frogs gay.

SPEAKER_01

That's why every time anyone brings up Alex Jones, that remix of Turn the Frogs gay gets stuck in my head for like a week. And then I'm like, this is like so and then I Google I search on on TikTok and like it doesn't even have that many views. I'm like, oh, am I just mentally ill that I'm looking at this stuff? They're like, Turn the freaking frogs gay. Do you understand?

unknown

Turn the frogs gay.

SPEAKER_00

But it's like, I don't know, there's because I think a lot of people are really surprised, but then there's people like us and people who are deeper into it than we are. Who nobody nobody's surprised. No, there's certain aspects of it. I think like I there was like a time I there are certain things I was reading that I was just like, I need to put the phone down for a little bit today. Like, this is too much.

SPEAKER_01

Well, see, me and my coworker, um, we like dive deep into the files and then we would talk about it like during a board call, and my supervisor would be like, I can't like listen to this because it's it's too like saddening. I don't want to like know more about it. I was like, but you need to know about this. She's like, I don't want to talk about it.

SPEAKER_00

Right.

SPEAKER_01

It was that weird thing of like you want to know the information because it's important to be learned about, but see, to me, it's not even like people when they read in it's like the shock of it all. Like genuinely, nothing I read in those files was shocking to me whatsoever. And I think that's the saddest part.

SPEAKER_00

I think I think we all kind of knew something something was going on. It it doesn't take much to think to like it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that stuff's tied together.

SPEAKER_01

I think people just don't understand like the depravity of the human race and like what people are capable of, like, especially when it comes to like hurting children and babies, like it's like the world of human and sex trafficking. I don't think the general public really knows how deep it goes. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And I think even we don't even like we don't know. There's so much more to it that I just the stuff that they're like letting us know about, which I put my fucking tinfoil hat on, but I believe that they are feeding us this information, like little like they want us to eat this up for what? I don't really know, but I think they're like they're letting us know. There's no reason that if they didn't want this to come out, they wouldn't let it come out, in my opinion.

SPEAKER_01

Well, regardless, uh only what like half the files have been released from the Department of Justice, and Donald Trump's name is mentioned, like it was his name is mentioned more in the Epstein files than Harry Potter's name is mentioned in all seven Harry Potter books. Yeah, and more than God's name is mentioned in the Bible. Like, come on, and still still precedent. Whereas you have other countries where they're like leaders and supreme figures, if they're mentioned in the files, they're like there's protest. Yeah, like they're out of there. Not here, not in America, not in good old US of A.

SPEAKER_00

Well, you know that I feel very strongly about bringing back public execution. You do. I talked about it at work by accident and the yeah, like in a funny way. Um but it was uh with the person brought up politics in the first place, and I was like, kill them, kill them in the town square, like the old days. They're like, oh god, no, I don't think that's a good idea.

SPEAKER_01

I'm like, oh they're like that's not what I meant.

SPEAKER_00

I'm just kidding. Just kidding.

SPEAKER_01

And so, yeah, all that Epstein stuff was uh coming out, and I think we were making progress because then they dep uh they did depositions on the Clintons, which I started watching Hillary's uh deposition. They're both horrible, and like Bill Clinton is lying out of his fucking through his fucking teeth, like having a great time up there. But did you see? I don't know if you saw the clip of it, they asked him, um uh like one of the pictures he was like he was in and it was like young women or something, and he's like, Well, um, you know, I wouldn't consider them young. And the person asked us, like, well, do you consider an intern young? And he's like, Yeah. And I'm like, but that's the thing, like, he's uh he's he did the deposition, he's under oath, but like you were also under oath when you said you didn't have sexual relations with Monica Lewinsky, and you lied, so you got impeached for lying under oath, so it's kind of hard to come back from that.

SPEAKER_00

Can I like share something with you that might sound stupid, but you know, it's a save squeeze. I like don't understand the under oath thing.

SPEAKER_01

It's just like I promise not to lie.

SPEAKER_00

Like, it just doesn't seem legit to me.

SPEAKER_01

Everything's made up. The only difference about lying under oath is if you lie under oath, you commit perjury and then you can go to jail for it. Like, I guess that's like the big thing. Like, how do you think? It's a really bad lie. Well, they I guess they can find out if you like later on. But like that's the thing.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I don't I don't like that as a justice thing, like I promise.

SPEAKER_01

I promise.

SPEAKER_00

People lie all the time under oath.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, totally. Or if you watch any of the uh like confirmation hearings or any of like I watch the stuff with like uh Cash Patel and Christine Ohm, like all their like confirmation hearings, and like the they'll be asked questions and they just don't answer the question, they just like talk around it, and I'm like, okay, it's like so they're not lying under oath, but they're just not answering questions.

SPEAKER_00

What is that called filibustering?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I mean it's not technically a filibuster, but like it's like the spirit of it, yeah. It's just I don't know. I just like hate I I saw TikTok um today, and I don't know what's happening, but Obama put out something on his social media, like it like kind of implying that he's coming back into politics, but like I don't I didn't really look into it. But the commentary on it was like I miss when we had like a boring president, and like I miss where I didn't have to know the names of like his cabinet's members. Like I used to not know who the secretary of homeland security was, like I used to not know who the FBI director was.

SPEAKER_00

I used to just be but I miss like old Republicans. Like I miss like Mitt Romney. Like everybody hated him, but like I don't know. I just remember like my parents being really like against like those people. Yeah. And now I look back. I'm like, for like, no, they didn't seem too bad.

SPEAKER_01

Like, for all intents and purposes, like George W. Bush was like a war criminal, and we're like, I missed the days of W. What a guy. What a guy. Uh, but yes, and so now we are in war with Iran. So we've spent at what a couple billion dollars in the last two weeks going to war with them. So that's good. Um, why are we there? No one really knows. No. Initially it was because they were gonna strike us first, they were going to hit Israel, Israel was going to attack them, and we have to back Israel. Um, it's there to restore whatever to this the citizens of Iran. No one really knows why we're there. The reason that we're there is to distract from the Epstein files. And the And unfortunately it wasn't like I think the death toll of American troops is I think 13 or 14 at this point. Never mind however many Iranian uh civilians.

SPEAKER_00

But okay. Did you see the side-by-side of Donald Trump's speech about the war uh to Lord Farquad's speech in Shrek? Yes.

SPEAKER_01

Yo, that's like too close. Some of you may die, but that's a sacrifice I'm willing to make. Sad. Sad man. When's he when is he gonna die? I don't know. Like he's It's coming up, isn't it?

SPEAKER_00

Hope core about him being dead, but it's never true.

SPEAKER_01

It's like a cockroach, you know?

SPEAKER_00

That's the world. What what else is going on? Beside besides those things. Besides those things. Um did you watch the Oscars? Um, I've been watching clips of it this year. For some reason, I'm really like getting into it this year. Yeah. I didn't watch it. I'd never watch it, but I've been watching like little bits and pieces of it.

SPEAKER_01

I only caught like the tail end with like the the big awards.

SPEAKER_00

I really like Jesse Buckley, so I was hoping that she would win. I actually haven't seen that movie that she was in, but I like have always liked everything else that she's in.

SPEAKER_01

Um, Eric loves the Oscars because he loves movies. Yes. Um, so like I'll watch it, but like I, as you know, I don't watch movies. So like all these movies they're talking about, I was like, I've never even heard of these. Except for that Leonardo DiCaprio one. I did watch about half of that with Eric before I fell asleep.

SPEAKER_00

I do I didn't know um Weapons. I watched Weapons.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, we also watched Weapons.

SPEAKER_00

I did watch I was pretty excited that she won the Amy Madagan. Did she? I th Um Because horror Is that the is that the was she the villain? Yeah, Aunt Gladys. Okay. Yeah horror never really wins all that much in the Oscars. No. And she did it was a really good movie. You know what I just learned about today? I was like, because I watched the movie and I like you can tell that it has like a deeper meaning to it. I just I don't know, I only watched it one time. Yeah It's about school shootings and the responsibility of um like the parents and school like in children's death and Gladys I can say that Gladys is like supposed to symbolize like how when there's a shooting in a school, people are like, Well, it was that kid, he was just evil, like we don't know where he came from. He was just evil, and then they don't want to take blame for like any anything, any of the any parts of it. So like Gladys was supposed to symbolize this, like just random, like evil, crazy bitch that just shows up and all the kids disappear. And I'm like, damn. That's deep.

SPEAKER_01

Like that makes so much sense. Was that why it was called weapons with the Remember the one scene the stars formed like a gun in the sky? And whenever I watched it, I was like, I don't I think it's this is above me, and I'm not gonna investigate any further because I was tired. Yeah, cool shootings. Uh oh, we had a couple of those too since the last time we recorded on Fortune.

SPEAKER_00

So I don't even know which ones specifically there have been so many. Unfortunately.

SPEAKER_01

I I just can't I can't deal with this world much much longer.

SPEAKER_00

What funny things do we have to talk about?

SPEAKER_01

Oh man. Well, I have a rant if I'm ready. Okay. Alright. So we just celebrated St. Patrick's Day. Are you aware that like St. Patrick's Day is like a thing parents need to do with children now?

SPEAKER_00

I um remember when I nanied, we did we would always the one family that I worked for, we always set up a trap.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. That's like the first I heard I heard. I I knew about like the trap, because like my friends who's had who have had kids before, me, like I've seen them like do stuff about the catching a leprechaun, and I was like, oh, like Remy doesn't know what that is. Like and then one day I pick him up from school and I was like, oh, how was school? What'd you learn? What'd you do? He's like, Oh, we read um a book about catching leprechauns. I'm like, you did? And no. Yeah, we have to like set up a trap for St. Patrick's Day to catch the leprechaun. I'm like, and then I was like, what happened? Like I didn't know. I was like, so like what happens? Does like do you do you catch like do you have to get a leprechaun? Like I didn't understand like the concept, like what happens after this trap. And so I like texted my friend and I was like, what happens with this? And then I watched TikToks about it. And so like you you like make a trap to like catch the leprechaun, and like you put like you know, gold coins in there to try to get him. Um, but like the leprechaun also causes mischief in your house. And I've seen people put like the big thing is like making your toilet water green to show that he peed in the toilet. I'm like, that's fucking weird. I don't understand. Or they'll put like little green footprints around their house. And I saw one girl I'm friends with on Facebook like teepeed her kitchen, put glitter everywhere, and paint and all this stuff, and I was like, what the fuck is this very elf happening? Yes, but there's more because not only does the elf come to cause mischief, and then like the elf you never actually catch not the elf and the leprechaun. The leprechaun com the leprechaun comes and causes mischief. You don't actually catch the leprechaun, and you say, like, haha, catch me next year, but whatever. But a lot of parents leave presents from the leprechaun. And I was like, Excuse me. I'm like, what do you mean, presents? And my friend like goes all out for this. Uh I'm gonna send you the picture of what she left her. She has she has three kids. Um, but she sent it to me, and I was like, Are you fucking kidding me? And she's like, it's not a lot, and I'm like, um, Remy's probably gonna get less than this for Easter. Yeah. And she's like, just like small gifts that you leave them. And I'm like, for what? Like, I just gave him a Valentine's Day basket. He had his birthday, Easter's coming up, and Christmas was not that long ago. Let's do a St. Patrick's Day basket, which like what it even is the holidays. What the fuck is that? That's like the most I was willing to do was like and I didn't do it because like I ran out of time, but like the most I was gonna do was like put like coins in the leprechaun trap and then replace them with chocolate coins for him, and that would have been like his little present from the leprechaun.

SPEAKER_00

That's crazy.

SPEAKER_01

I was like, are you girl? Are you nuts? This is like a little Christmas. Yeah, yeah. And I'm like, I'm sorry, like for him being a quarter Irish, I have to do all this shit with the leprechaun. Oh my god.

SPEAKER_00

What if you're not Irish?

SPEAKER_01

I think you she's not Irish. I mean her husband is, but like, or whatever, that kid's dad, but like that seems like too much. And like, God bless her, like, she's a better mom than me, but like stop.

SPEAKER_00

That's not true. Just because you don't have a fucking leprechaun, drop off presents, it doesn't mean anything. That's like insane to me. I knew that there was like like you did the little trap and like they like left little coins and stuff, but I didn't know that you give like presents.

SPEAKER_01

The most I'm willing to do in terms of presents for this leprechaun, like I said, is the gold coins and like a St. Patrick's Day shirt that he could wear to school. And like, yes, that's more than enough for me. And you know what? Even like we just did the little trap, and first of all, he even forgot that the trap was there and he was ready to go to bed. I was like, what about your trap for the leprechaun? And he's like, Oh yeah, yeah. And it was like the most basic ass trap. Like he wanted to do it, and like he just pretty much like put construction paper on a box and like colored on and put stickers on it. I was like, beautiful, I love it. Um, and the most I did, I put like lip I have like about green um what's it called? Uh sprinkles, like cooking sprinkles, and like I put like a little trail to the trap, and I wrote a little note in there, and that was it. And he was like, his eyes like lit up. He's like, This is the lepra. He left the sprinkles, and I'm like, okay, I'm glad this is satisfactory. He loved it. He was like, This is but yeah, I and like I've on like this uh discourse now on TikTok, and the internet's very divided because half of people are like, what the fuck is this? and the other half are like, well, you know, fuck me for wanting to bring a little magic into my kid's life.

SPEAKER_00

And I'm like, oh my god. I think it's like there's certain things that like I believe that if you have a kid, and like I'm not obviously telling anyone how to parent, but like I like the idea that if you're gonna tell your kids there's like a Santa Claus and stuff like that, that you're like not telling them Santa Claus got everything, you know what I mean? Like, yeah, so like you because in my mind, like I always felt bad. I was like, well, what about other like little kids if they don't get presents? Like, why don't they get presents from Santa? Why do I get presents from Santa? And I feel like pe parents are so good about that now, like they're more responsible, they think about like other families and kids and different situations, but it's like also like at school, why are we doing that? Like, parents don't have enough to deal with, and now you're like, Yeah, you gotta set up a let's tell your kids who are four that there's there's gonna be a leprechaun coming to their house tonight. I would be fucking pissed.

SPEAKER_01

And school made their own leprechaun trap as like a class project, and like that's fine, but then like there but Remy's at an age where like like they talk to each other, they're kids, so like like he'll know that the leprechaun came to this person's house why it didn't come to my house. And like I was talking to the one mom because she's another one that goes all out about this, and um I was like, tell your kid not to talk to my kid about your leprechaun, and she's like I saw her at pickup, she's like, I hope she didn't tell anyone about our leprechaun.

SPEAKER_00

I was like, and and like I don't know, I don't know if I could keep up with all that.

SPEAKER_01

It's too much. I'm telling you, because it it's all the holiday, like starting at Christmas from Christ there's Christmas, uh Valentine's Day, his birthday, St. Patrick's Day, Easter. Bam, bam, bam. And I'm like, what am I supposed to do now? Like a 4th of July basket? Like, come on.

SPEAKER_00

I know, and the Easter bunny like became like Christmas. Like the Easter became Christmas too.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, I know families that like their Easter presents are like more outlandish than their Christmas presents. I'm like, you see a basket with candy and like a little couple toys or something. Like, come on.

SPEAKER_00

I know my mom does still do an Easter egg hunt for us every year.

SPEAKER_01

Oh that's cute.

SPEAKER_00

I'm like, but she puts alcohol in the little Easter eggs. That's perfect. Um sorry. Yeah, sorry.

SPEAKER_01

That was my I know that wasn't funny, but no, that is actually funny.

SPEAKER_02

I'm sorry to hear about your lip forgotten.

SPEAKER_01

It's fine. Um I don't know if there's been anything super funny going on lately. I think everything has been depressive. Everything has been so depressing.

SPEAKER_00

I'm trying to I had like nothing I had nothing prepared for tonight. Because I was like, we have so much to catch up on. I don't even have anything prepared.

SPEAKER_01

Are you uh still f oh you know what we didn't talk about on our our TikTok uh world is Michaela Nagara getting a divorce, a divorce getting divorced. She's a she's so dumb.

SPEAKER_00

I think that was a lavender marriage, if I'm gonna be quite frank with you. I think that was a lavender marriage, and then the divorce was a publicity stunt, for sure. Like in terms of they're not actually getting divorced? Uh I think they're actually getting divorced, but I think she probably doesn't really care because I think it's a lavender marriage.

SPEAKER_01

Well, she got it was because the her divorce announcement was so like theatrical. He's like, you better sit down.

SPEAKER_00

Like, no, take it in. I thought it was a joke. I'm like, no one no one cares that much.

SPEAKER_01

But but the delusion that she thinks that people care that much is wild to me.

SPEAKER_00

Can I tell you who did, and not to veer from this, but who did really shock me their divorce? Do you know who Lilia is? I don't know. I don't think so. She's this girl, her name's Lilia, and I forget what her husband's name is. I think her husband's name is Caden. And they call each other Love Bun. And there's definitely something wrong with them both. Like, like there's they're they're not they're like heavily medicated. Like I think that they both have a lot of like disorders. Um, but they're very sweet and they seem like actually genuinely nice people. And they just recently had two little babies, they're so cute, and like they just had bad lives. Like, it was just sad, and it was like nice. And then she just came out and said they got a divorce because he was beating her. Oh my god. Cheating on her. And somebody in the comments was like, This one I actually had to sit down for. Like, this is like this is and I thought about that because I'm like, that act I like actually was like Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

That is something that I care about, but you never know what's happening behind closed doors. I do not.

SPEAKER_00

Um, my rant is that I think Andy's mad at me. I think Why? I think that he's been mad at me for like three days and I can't figure out why.

SPEAKER_01

Why is he acting differently?

SPEAKER_00

Acting so different. Because I think what happened was I have been trying to get back actually, I'm pretty sure I know what happened. I've been trying to get back into running again. And when I And you don't take him with you? No, I do take him with me.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, that's why you had breaking him exercise.

SPEAKER_00

We used to do it a couple years ago together, and I think he was like old now, Marissa. And I took him the first time, and he was like, because we started to run, and he started looking around like somebody was chasing. He plays a tamper. He's like, no, something's wrong. And then it was just like the shock of it all was like a lot for him, and then I took him the second time, and he just like planted in the middle of the path and refused to walk anymore. I'm dead run anymore. And I think ever since then he's been upset with me.

SPEAKER_01

Oh he hates it. He hates his own. Well, you know what? I'm with Andy. Do you know running is like really bad for you?

SPEAKER_00

It's terrible for you, but it makes me feel better in my brain.

SPEAKER_01

Every time I think about like maybe I should pick up running. I'm like, I hate running. I feel like I'm dying every time I go running. And two, it's not good for you. It's basically like smoking. You know, like everyone I know that's a runner is like the best shape physically of anyone I know, but well, not Andy, because he refuses.

SPEAKER_00

He's so pissed. He's in I mean, he's in here now, but he's been ignoring me for the past couple nights because he's very like Yeah, you're making him work out.

SPEAKER_01

I get it. I get it, Andy. Solidarity, my dude.

SPEAKER_00

He just wants to rest, and then but he gets bored, and I'm like, well, we have to do something. We have to do activities because like it's we're getting into his like chunky season because it's the warmer weather's coming up, and that's his least favorite kind of weather.

SPEAKER_01

Same Andy. Andy and I have a lot in common, I'm noticing.

SPEAKER_00

You do. But he's I don't know. He's not into it. He's not into me right now. He's pissed.

SPEAKER_01

It's like he's like, you signed up for this health journey, not me. Bitch.

SPEAKER_00

But that's that's what's going on in my life. Um, literally nothing else. I don't think.

SPEAKER_01

We I have a lot of local drama happening. They're with uh they're proposing data centers in my borough. And uh for reference, my borough is like I don't know, like 8,000 residents. Like it's a small borough. Yeah. And there's a proposal for five or six data centers. And the biggest one is over 500 square acres in the woods. And um, I think like there's a video I shared, but like the biggest one, it is gonna be bigger than like six Disneylands put together. And um the residents of my borough have been like against this from like the get-go, but our city council is like trying to push it through. And um, because they probably got paid by the data center companies, you know. And uh there was recently a um right to know request filed, and they released emails between several different council members and like the zoning solicitor and blah blah blah blah between them and the developers, and like they blatantly changed like ordinances to accommodate the developers. So, like when they the developers approach the council about developing the data centers, um, the data centers want to develop on this land, right? And it's like the woods, it's like conservat, it's zoned as conservation. And um, the developers wanted to change the zoning so they can develop. And originally, when they were talking about the data centers, when the ordinances was written, there was no data centers, like it's not in the yeah, the yeah. So they were trying to figure out like where data centers would fall in, and the zoning officer or solicitor, whatever you this title is, pretty much blatantly said he's like, Well, it sounds like data centers would fall more under industrial. Um, and the data developers were like, Well, I think it could be like more commercial. So they granted them like a commercial zoning when it should be industrial, and because where they want to build it is like close enough to businesses that it could be can change the zoning to commercial, but it's clearly industrial because they're huge fucking plants. It's like 50 some like buildings. Like um, and it's and so it's like that's like a whole huge back and forth, and like there was another one there they have to be a minimum of um a thousand feet away from uh residential properties, and then they took it down to 400 feet, then took it down to like 300 feet. So it's all like coming out that like the city council members are like backing other developers, and I guess like the law, what it says is like you can't discriminate a business from developing just because of the type of business it is, but you also don't have to like accommodate them and change your ordinances to accommodate them. Definitely getting kickback from that. Oh, totally. So it's a lot of back and forth. Um, and like there's like all these signs in my borough, like no data centers. The people are like filling up the um zoning hearings, and there's a petition to remove the council members, but you legally can't remove them. It has to be like a new, like a special election or something. So it's lots of drama, and like and it's sad because so the property they want to develop on, they the developers already bought it, so like because it was owned by individual businesses or residences, and then they bought it, and like a lot of people are like, Oh, like we should blame you know these people for selling it, but other people like well, it's hard to walk away from like seven million dollars someone's giving you. So they own the property, um, and they already started deforestation of a huge part of it, and like you drive by on the highway, and like the land is just cleared out, all the trees are bent down, and people are like, Oh, how are they doing the deforestation when they don't even have a permit yet to do it? And I was like, Well, because they own the land, so they could do it if they wanted the land, they just can't build on it until they get the permit. And already, like, all the animals that live there are like relocating, and there's one little there's a video, this one little baby bear walked onto the highway and got hit by a car. And died. So there's like a dead bear on the fucking highway. That's like I don't know.

SPEAKER_00

Leave the animals. This isn't their fault that we're all sick.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. And then of course, like the um the data centers come, our electric and our water bills go up. Um, there's gonna be like noise pollution and air pollution, and it's just like it's crazy because like my my town is little, like it's a little town, but we have all this land. It's just it's sad. And we have like off the highway, we have like industrial plants, and like we said, like you can go here, like this is zoned as industrial. Yeah, and the borough is like, Well, the tax revenue, the tax revenue, and they were saying, like, with these lands with the property taxes they would have to pay would account for 60% of our budget, so like that's why we want it. And I'm like, Okay, like clearly your your residents don't want it, like, we don't care about the tax revenue.

SPEAKER_00

So, like the people you should be concerned about, like, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

So that lots of that's drama. So, and we've been making like national news, my little little town. So, not that it's a good news to make, but it's scary. It's like not great. And I was putting for beat to bed the other night because you know I get like crazy in my head, and I'm putting her to bed. I'm like, I'm sorry that next year there's gonna be like a constant humming noise from the data centers. Maybe she'll like it.

SPEAKER_00

You don't help her because maybe maybe that's what she needs.

SPEAKER_01

I just can't imagine what the electric bill is gonna be like because when we had that cold front where it was like oh 10 degrees below zero for like weeks, um, most of our house is electric heat. Like my bill for I just paid my electric bills like$400. And I'm like, I can't imagine what the rates are gonna look like once the data centers are here. That's insane. But I guess they're trying to uh there's like um a bill put out there for the state to put like a three-year m uh moratorium on data centers in Pennsylvania to study like the side effects, like the implications. I don't know. It doesn't sound too promising. It doesn't seem like our governor is like doing anything at all helping a whole lot, but uh he's been going on like podcasts and stuff, but uh I don't know. That's my my small town drama.

SPEAKER_00

Um we don't have any small town drama here. I mean we do, but it's like really stupid. How's your pinball stuff? Um there's there's drama in that. And I actually had to like I'm putting a pause on my girl pinball group because women's pinball has gotten very and I like can't talk about any of this on this podcast because it's gotten like super spicy. Yeah, and so I've been like paused on the pinball thing.

SPEAKER_01

I think anytime uh anyone tries to develop a social group, the drama just gets out of hand. We can't be nice to each other.

SPEAKER_00

Well, and it's like the thing is that my the group that I have in the Lehigh Valley is a subsect of a larger, like national group. So the larger group has drama and like it's to the point where people are like striking, not striking, but like refusing to pay fees or like doing things like you know what I mean? Like they're just like giving pushback, and I'm like, honestly, I really don't have time. Like although I, you know, what they're doing, I understand what they're doing, but I just don't have time to do it. Like my I'm not in it that hard that I'm gonna be like, you know, we're gonna start a whole new system kind of deal. Right. So we we're taking a pause until it cools down a little bit. The social climate of pinball. That's smart. But you know, I'm like, if you want to come over, you can, but I'm just not using any systems to grade it.

SPEAKER_01

You can come over and play pinball.

SPEAKER_00

We're just not I'm just not making it official for the group.

SPEAKER_01

Oh gosh. Well, I don't know. I don't have any other topics. I feel like we've just been like inundated with like horrible news.

SPEAKER_00

So Yeah, I next next time we record I will have um my little a little research topic like I've been trying to do.

SPEAKER_01

Your little diddy.

SPEAKER_00

Your little ditty. I'll have at least something a little bit. I'll be more prepared now that we're back.

SPEAKER_01

Back and better than ever.

SPEAKER_02

We're okay.

SPEAKER_01

We're back. It's fine. I have a lot of uh a lot of stuff on my plate right now that I'm like dealing with. It's everything's fine. It's just like I have no time to do anything. It's just fine. It's just fine. I'm going back onto my normal work schedule, though I'll be off every other Friday. And I think that is very much needed for my mental health. So I hope that was uh gonna help a little bit. I think it will. Well, should we wrap it up?

SPEAKER_00

I think I think we should, because I feel like I'm just gonna ramble.

SPEAKER_01

And we do love to ramble.

SPEAKER_00

I love to ramble.

SPEAKER_01
