What a weird few weeks. People climbing skyscrapers, TSwift shutting down NYC for more attention, horrific child crimes in Ohio, and America's kind of 250th birthday.

SPEAKER_02

Hi everybody, welcome to But What Do We Know podcast. I'm Marissa. And I'm Anna. And uh sorry we've been gone.

SPEAKER_00

I've been dealing with ill children.

SPEAKER_02

Ill children.

SPEAKER_00

Not children, one. One ill child.

SPEAKER_02

You know what? We we said when we brought this back that it would not be on a regular schedule. So I'm not sure. Yeah, it's just just for funsies. We're just whenever we can. Yeah. It's fine.

SPEAKER_00

So how are you? Um, well, you know, just waiting for the first gray hairs to pop up on my head because I I don't I'm not cut out for this motherhood stuff. Sure you are. You sure are. You're doing it. Yeah, everyone's surviving. I can't say that we're thriving, but we're all here, we're all fed. Um, you know, we're all alive. So yeah, it's fine. That's all I can say. No, I mean nothing serious. Like she Ruby's just been having like ear infection stuff, and it it resulted in an ER visit, which like traumatized me for like 48 hours. So I'm very sorry. I give uh major uh props to uh parents of like medically fragile children that are like constantly at the doctor's because like that was the one time I take either children to the hospital, and like I'm like spent. Like I don't I can't even imagine.

SPEAKER_02

Ugh, it was bad. I can barely handle going just myself. It was not a good time. I know.

SPEAKER_00

Um, but yeah, that's that's all I have going on. Um Ruby's turning one in a month, so I have to like do all her birthday party stuff. So crazy. Yeah. I can't believe she's one. I know she's walking, she's grooving. She uh gets into like walking everything, so she's I think she's gonna be a handful. You know, she already is. So good. You need it. A handful and loud. Good. It's good for you. It's great. It's good for you.

SPEAKER_02

How do you know what's good for me? Good. You're gonna it's gonna build character and you need it in your life.

SPEAKER_00

I don't think I need to build character. I think I'm perfectly great the way I am. I know, but you could just get better every day. Yeah, sure, sure, sure, sure. Um, other than that, I've been um hitting my calorie and protein and fiber goals, except on the weekend. It's hard on the weekend. It's so hard on the weekend. It's hard all the time. It is. Well, my hack is I just eat cauliflower and broccoli until I'm full. So um just plain. Well, I like I like have like a snack tray for like lunch usually and like honestly with dinner too, most of the time, because like Remy's in his picky phase, so like I don't even make like a full dinner anymore. So I'll have like a protein and like cauliflower and broccoli, and I dip it in like cottage cheese and like a fruit.

SPEAKER_02

Sounds really good. So good.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it's great.

SPEAKER_02

I've been um okay with my calories. I've been scraping by.

SPEAKER_00

You need to eat more calories because you're running marathons, apparently.

SPEAKER_02

I'm not running any marathon. I haven't run as ever a marathon in my life.

SPEAKER_00

Whatever, 5K, same thing.

SPEAKER_02

Doesn't even count. Anyone can run 5K. I can't. I'll die. You sure anybody can. There are children running laps around me. So it's not that I don't need to eat more.

SPEAKER_00

What else is going on in your life?

SPEAKER_02

Literally nothing. Literally, nothing is going on. It's the weirdest like I don't know, but nothing's happening at the moment, which is good. I'm glad that nothing's happening, but I'm just trying to survive this heat right now. It's killing me. It's killing me.

SPEAKER_00

You know who messaged me on Instagram talking about the heat? Who was um Abigail from Arizona? Yes. And she actually I didn't respond to her, I forgot to answer her, but because I made a a post on Instagram how like I want to take my skin off. And um she was like, Yeah, like I just like she lives in Arizona, and she was just like, dude, like I think she has she has family like on the east coast somewhere or friends, and she was saying how like they were talking about how bad it is, and she's like, I never realized like how bad it is, like on the east coast with like the humidity and like it reaches like a hundred degrees, and like you guys are boiling because in Arizona it's like I if it's 95 degrees, it's like dry, and like that sounds so much better. And I was like, that's what it's like, and I know like that's what all the old people say. It's like it's not the heat, it's the humidity that gets you, but it's so true. Like, I walk outside of my house and I the air feels so thick that I can't breathe. It's so bad, terrible, it's not enjoyable whatsoever.

SPEAKER_02

There's nothing good about it, it's only getting worse every year that we're alive. Yep. I take an SSRI, so like I can't you're really struggling. I can't even function outside.

SPEAKER_00

No, I see. This is why we take our vacation every year in August, because I'm like, it needs to, I cannot be at the beach in mid fucking July. No.

SPEAKER_02

Even though I'm going to the beach at the end of July in Florida. Ah! So I think Florida's different though.

SPEAKER_00

I feel like it's not as hot in Florida.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, and we'll be at the beach, so it won't be super bad. Fun um but yeah, other than that, nothing's really going on here. Just like working and trying to run. I've been really into the running thing.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

No running today, though. No, I I do want to run tomorrow. I r like I have a treadmill that I use inside when it's hot. But I might go outside tomorrow, but I have to I know that if I do, I have to get up really early.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, like 4 a.m. I should go right after we do this. Um, how's my boy Andy?

SPEAKER_02

Oh, he's so good. He also he's miserable though because he wants to be outside right now so bad. Can't, brother. He can't. He cannot. So he's been crying at me. He's in here with me right now. He's good. He's good. Were you I told you about the hospital thing, how we had to take him to the ER. I don't know. I feel like Andy's been to the ER multiple times. He's always at the fucking ER. We had to take Andy to the ER because one of his he's like he's almost eight, so he's getting old. And I mean, like, he doesn't act like it, but his there's just certain things with big dogs. He's like lumpy, like he has little lumps. One of his lumps exploded. I know that's like gross, but it happened overnight, and we'd take him to the ER and it was fifteen hundred dollars. For them to be like, oh, you know what? He probably just like cut it outside or something. Just some antibiotics will be fine. Oh my god. But we had insurance, so still me like $700. Oh no, he's good. Everybody over here's good. Oh, Cliff just got a car today. Oh, cool. He got a Mustang. Of course he did. He well, he put on Facebook because he was like, I need another car that's not my work because he has a work car. And he was like, I need another car. I'm gonna sell all our pinball machines, and then posted on Facebook, I'm selling all of our pinball machines. And I'm like, please don't post that because people are gonna think that we're in a crisis. Yeah. Because there's no reason that you would sell them unless something was like wrong. And so he's just put all my pinball machines for sale, and I put in under the comments I was like, just so everybody knows, we're okay. Like, there's nothing wrong. He just wants to buy a car.

SPEAKER_00

I didn't even see that.

SPEAKER_02

Like, we're not in a crisis, so yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Is I'm so he so wait, did he get the Mustang already? Yeah. Oh, okay. And did he sell his pinball machines?

SPEAKER_01

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_00

All of them? He sold like two of them. Wow.

SPEAKER_02

How does he feel about that? Um, he feels great because he got a Mustang. Okay. He got the ones he liked, and I'm like, you know what, honestly, then I don't have to move. Well, even though if we when we move, like when we buy a house, I have told him that I will not touch a piece of furniture. Absolutely not. I won't. Nope. Not after this last move, it fucking killed me. So it was like, if when we move, we're getting movers. I'm sorry, at a certain age, you have to hire movers. It's not worth it. Not doing it. And but that's less pinball machines, so because a car you can just drive. Right. Pinball machines you have to pick up. So that's less for the movers one day.

SPEAKER_00

That's making fun. Um, I'll have to see pics of the Mustang. Mm-hmm. Do you still have um the yellow car? Mm-hmm. Okay. We have like 27 cars right now. I was like, damn, you guys are like rich with all these things. We're not rich.

SPEAKER_02

We're not rich. But we have a whole parking lot of cars. But that's it. That's that's good.

SPEAKER_00

That's going on in this household. Nice, nice. Yeah. Um, so we got a couple things to talk about. And I hope I can edit this and release it while this information is still relevant. I'm gonna try really hard this weekend.

SPEAKER_02

I realize I never put anything on Instagram for a last post. I'm like, it's fine, I'll just do it for this one.

SPEAKER_00

Um, well, the there's a couple things. Is there anything that you wanted to talk about in particular?

SPEAKER_02

Well, I was hoping that there's a couple things that I was hoping that you could tell me about. Yes, sure. There's certain things that I don't like, I only vaguely know about. And those two things are the Empire State building people. Yes. And uh Taylor Swift getting married. Oh, I almost forgot about that one. So that's all uh the other everything else I feel okay about, but those things I don't know anything about.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, so the Empire State building climbers. So this happened literally yesterday, July 1st, right? Um, so I was just like scrolling on TikTok as I do, and I get I see a video of two people climbed on top of the Empire State building, and I'm like, excuse me. And so then I'm like reading, because you know, you never know, like, is this AI or like whatever? So I'm like looking and I'm like through the comments, and then someone says, they just he just proposed, and I'm like, what is going on? So I look into it, and yesterday they're um they're like climbers, their names are Angela Nikolau and Ivan Kaznifskinitsov. Whatever. They they're like they're like rooftopping like climbers, and they this is like their job, is like they go and like breach security at these high rises and climb them just for like the thrill of it. Like no safety nets, no cords, like free climbing. So they breached security at the Empire State Building, they got up to like a hundred think a hundred and third floor or a hundred and eighth floor, and there was like um like a maintenance door, and they got through that and just like scaled the building all the way to the top, and like there's like a platform, and then on top of that is like an antenna, it's like the needle for like radio signals, and they climbed all the way on top of there, and um, they had a flag um that they displayed, and the flag said, Um, oh, it's that Jimi Hendrix code says, When the power of love beats the love of power, the world knows peace. So people are like, Oh, okay, is this like a protest type of thing? And then they were up there for a while. There was like two helicopters circling them with like news coverage, and um they had masks on, they were dressed in all black, and she had like cat ears, like a catwoman mask on, and she like climbed the Empire State Build Building in like a corset, like very iconic. And then they get down and he proposes to her, and like this whole time they like they're posting on Instagram. Like, I don't know if it's them posting it, or like it's I saw a post that says posted by their assistant. So, like, it's being pretty much live streamed on Instagram as they're doing it, and um they the police had to come up there, and I'm like, what police are climbing to the T Top of the Empire State Building? But there was like there's like a special like emergency response. Oh, like cops or whatever. And I saw that they said like the one that went up there, there's two of them. One of them like literally just graduated from that emergency training last week. I was like, I was like, what are the chances? Um, and they like whatever, like they I'm like, what are you gonna do? Climb up there and grab them down, like they had to wait for them to come down on their own, which they did, like they're not gonna live up there. And they climbed down and they arrested them. There's like felony charges. I don't know exactly what the charges are, but I think like obviously trespassing. Oh, here it is felony burglary, reckless endangerment, criminal mischief, criminal trespass, and criminal tampering, and possession of burglars tools. Whatever. Um, and it says like that their defense attorney um says that the prosecutors overcharge the pair to make an example out of them. Um and the guy said that their the engagement ring was confiscated by authorities as evidence. Um, but they were arrested, they were in jail, and obviously they're released on bail for the time being. Um, but they I thought this was a publicity stunt for their documentary. Yeah. Because I I thought it was being released, but they there they have a documentary that's been out since 2024. So like this was not maybe this was like to get more views on their documentary. I like I don't know if they're hurting for royalties or whatever, but um I think this is more just like this is like their this is their thing. Love's not dead. Not listen. I love the comments on TikTok when they post these videos, the comments are like the bare minimum, by the way.

SPEAKER_02

It's nice, it's nice. I you remember how I felt about the guy that was the um oh my god, he had all the bodies in his basement. Yes, remember that's how I feel about this. I think we needed this.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, you know what? We did need it, and what I love, there's like so much things I love about this story. It's like one, like, like who fucking cares if they climb? Like exactly why you're just whatever. It's their thing, you know? Like, no one got hurt, no nothing got stolen, like everything's fine. Um two, if you look at them, they're like the two hottest human beings that like can exist. And like, of course, they're together.

SPEAKER_02

Right.

SPEAKER_00

Um, and three, I love that this happened, like as we're leading up to the alleged Taylor Swift wedding in New York City this weekend.

SPEAKER_02

What is even happening? Why are they getting married this weekend?

SPEAKER_00

Because she's Miss Americana and it's the 4th of July, Marissa.

SPEAKER_02

In fucking Madison Square Garden, as if New York City is not going to be packed already.

SPEAKER_00

Getting married at Madison Square Garden is might be the tackiest fucking thing I could ever imagine. She's quite literally a billionaire and can get married in any fucking castle she wanted in any country.

SPEAKER_02

Europe or somewhere nice, and you're going to Madison Square Garden.

SPEAKER_00

On 4th of July and fucking scalding heat in Manhattan. Tacky AF.

SPEAKER_02

You know, for people who want to say that Taylor Swift is this like prolific writer, artist, that and she there's so much meaning behind everything that she does. She's getting married to a football player on the 4th of July in Madison Square Garden. Like, there's nothing to that.

SPEAKER_00

And I was like, what's gonna be like like are they getting married somewhere else? And this is like the viewing party. Like, I don't understand, like whatever it is, it's tacky as fuck.

SPEAKER_02

Like, I agree.

SPEAKER_00

It has if it has anything to do with her wedding, I think it's absolutely tacky and really goes to show what a commercial piece of shit she and Travis are.

SPEAKER_02

I think there are two, and then I saw there's so there's a girl that I am friends with on I like know her personally, but she posted something about how they donated like 26 million dollars to children's hospitals or whatever.

SPEAKER_00

It's like okay.

SPEAKER_02

Like, I'm sorry, why weren't you doing that before? You're one of the richest people on earth.

SPEAKER_00

Well, see, I feel like that's like that was a a move to um distract from the chaos that their wedding is causing. Right. Because okay, I've never been to Madison Square Garden, but from my understanding, it's like in midtown of Manhattan, right? And I don't know if anyone knows, but Manhattan's very like heavily congested with traffic. Like, so you're getting married there, and they had to uh block off they got a permit to block off several streets around Madison Square Garden. So like you're disrupting New York City traffic on a holiday weekend for your wedding and in the hottest fucking week of the year for what? And uh from my understanding, uh they had to there's gonna be like New York City police officers having to like direct traffic and like provide security, which I don't think like I'm I don't know how it works, like I'm sure it's probably partially taxpayer funded, but they probably had to pay extra to have that happen. I don't know, but it's just an inconvenience to everyone.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And also I just want to say that um the $26 million that she donated, again, if she has a one billion dollar net worth, that is like less than three percent of her net worth.

SPEAKER_02

Right.

SPEAKER_00

I just wanted to point that out.

SPEAKER_02

That is absolutely I mean it that's a large amount of money and I'm sure it's going to be very helpful, but it still doesn't make me like her at all. And I do think it's tacky, and I think that it's rude and yeah, I don't I don't know.

SPEAKER_00

Like I I'm curious to see what actually happens. And someone said that I saw an interview that someone gave that they know someone who was invited to this event. And and so I don't know if this is true or not because you know, whatever. But they said this person told them that they received this invitation and they had to sign a non-disclosure agreement before like going through the invitation. And which, if that's true, then they br they breached the non the non-disclosure disclosure agreement by even saying that, but whatever. So they said they had to sign an NDA to even access the invitation, and then it's like a whole itinerary of what's going on for the weekend, and it's not the actual wedding, but it's like I don't know, like a precursor to the wedding. I'm not entirely

SPEAKER_02

It looks so bizarre and over the top for no reason.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know. Like, I know there's diehard Swifties. I just like don't see how anyone can view this as anything other than the most cliche tackish shit of a celebrity wedding I've ever witnessed.

SPEAKER_02

This is what people used to be sent to the guillotines for. What are we doing?

SPEAKER_00

And like I already know she's gonna have like some basic ass wedding dress, a princess cut, with her hair down, with a fucking cat eye winged eyeliner, red lips. Like I already know.

SPEAKER_02

It's gonna uh it's gonna be so stupid and annoying, and he's gonna look like a dope like he always does.

SPEAKER_00

The other thing too. I'm like, come on.

SPEAKER_02

Like I don't know. I feel in like even getting married at 31 for me, I was like, should I even be having a wedding? Like I might be too old for this now. Like, I don't know.

SPEAKER_00

You know what's so funny? Our friends um we have like two events that we invited them to over the summer. Yeah. And they were like, oh, like we can't go, we have a wedding. And I'm like, we're 35. Like, who's getting like why are you thinking who do you know that's getting married at 35? Just sign the paper and be done with it.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, for real. Or like um have a cool wedding. Like, we're invited to a really cool uh drive-in movie theater wedding. Oh like that, that's cool. That I'm like I'm on board with that. But a full formal, like I don't know. I don't know.

SPEAKER_00

I'll still I'll still go to it, but like I'll go if I'm invited, but I'm just like I don't know if I would do that. Yeah, like again, this is coming from someone who gave their mom 20 minutes notice that I was getting married, so I don't know.

SPEAKER_02

Um you want to know something so dumb that I I really want to talk about?

SPEAKER_00

Yes.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, it it kind of has to do with the climbing thing, but have you seen the girls on TikTok that went for that hike in Yosemite?

SPEAKER_00

I don't think so.

SPEAKER_02

Okay. These it's like it was like seven, seven women and like one man, and they went for a hike in Yosemite. Hold on, I pulled up what's the trail? The mist trail. And um which is like I guess the mist trail, I don't know much about like hiking or parks or anything like that, so but the mist trail is like a common trail, but it's like a little more difficult than it is. You can't just like walk it, but like people do it all the time. It's not like you're like scaling the what the waterfalls. These like women all went on this hike, and they did the a TikTok where they were like, This is me before hiking the missed trails or whatever, like and they they all made it except one girl was lifelighted.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my gosh.

SPEAKER_02

How up there she was fine. Okay, she had signs of heat exhaustion because she was too she got too tired at the top and refused to walk down, so they had to bring a helicopter. Girl. And they picked her up in the tick. I actually sent you the TikTok because I know I wanted to talk about it. They picked her up, like you know how they transport cats now. Okay, these women, they're not hiking type women, like they they don't look like they hike. I'm not saying that I look that way at all. I'm not like I know my limits, I know what I can do and what I can't do. But this girl was like a larger woman, and they picked her up, like in the way they transport cattle. I'm dead. She was hanging on by a string, like the helicopter was you just have to see it. You have to see it. I'm pulling up now.

SPEAKER_00

I'm dead. You gotta greet. I'd be so embarrassed.

SPEAKER_02

These women have never been on a hike in their lives, and so there's this like discourse on the internet because I think why I got this is because I from last year. I've been watching like a lot of running TikToks, and it's like been overlapping with hiking TikToks. And they so somebody in the comments said it costs about ten thousand dollars, going to cost her about ten thousand dollars for that life flight. Damn. And they're the people, so everyone's been talking about should they have even gone on this hike at all? No. Ever, and what a waste of resources and how dangerous it is to even think about doing something like that.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I don't know. This seems like their first hike, and I don't know much about Yosemite, but does not seem like a first hike type of place.

SPEAKER_02

I'm not sure I would ever pick my first hike to be in Yosemite. I think it'll be like in a park or something.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know. The one that posted her like description on her TikTok says Hobbit Hiker, so maybe she maybe she's an avid hiker.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I don't know. But there's just something about it that I'm like, do people just not understand their limits? Like, so many things scare me. Like, if somebody asked me to climb the Empire State Building, obviously I would not say yes.

SPEAKER_00

But um Yeah, I don't I used to be like really into I don't want to say really into hiking, like I didn't run anywhere crazy, but I went to like like state parks and stuff and like went on like moderate trails, and like there were times like the one time we got lost and I was hiking for like four hours and I was like I'm done, like I need a break. Like you need to know what your limits are. I didn't get life-lighted out, but like it was not fun.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I think there's just like I don't know, you could she could have definitely probably just taken a break.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, you know, take a little snack. Yeah, have a little snack, take some water.

SPEAKER_02

You don't need to call the helicopter.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know. If I was with the if I was on with a group of people and we went hiking and someone said, you need to call search and rescue and get me helicopter helicoptered out of here, I'd be like, girl, I'm not staying. Like, you need to figure that out on your own.

SPEAKER_02

Hell no. That's embarrassing for everyone. I would be embarrassed just to be with her.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, and I would never go anywhere in public with her again. I'm sorry. I try to be as like invisible as I possibly can when I go out in public. I get embarrassed going grocery shopping when Remy makes me get those big ass carts with like the green like racer car seats, and I'm like, yeah, I'm fucking kidding.

SPEAKER_02

Sometimes I get self-conscious when I see my car's reflection in a large window. Like, I don't want to be perceived at all. I don't like it.

SPEAKER_00

No, no, no.

SPEAKER_02

I can't even oh my I never even thought about that with those big carts.

SPEAKER_00

Oh my god. The first I remember the first time he ever asked me to take that at the store, I was like, oh, oh no.

SPEAKER_02

And he was probably having the time of his life.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, he loves it. And it's nice now, like I won't do it because I Ruby's like too small to sit in it. Yeah. So he gets like a little upset that we can't have it. But I was like, oh well, you had your time.

SPEAKER_02

Sorry. But soon.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. It's coming. Um speaking of that, did you watch the maternal instinct stuff?

SPEAKER_00

No, I was gonna try to do it and I wanted to, and I forgot, and I just didn't have time. I've been like dying every night.

SPEAKER_02

So um you have to watch it.

SPEAKER_00

I know. I again I know what it's about. I just haven't watched it.

SPEAKER_02

It was one of those things where I was watching it and I was like, oh yeah, she's gonna cut the baby out of the other woman. Like typical.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

But it was a very good documentary. It was very interesting to watch.

SPEAKER_00

Um, Eric watched it and um I was talking to him like briefly about it, and he's like, Yeah, but like how she gets the baby. I was like, Eric, I don't think you like know, like as a pregnant woman, like like the danger you are in in society. I was like, I'm not surprised at all.

SPEAKER_02

It did seem the way that the not to give you a spoiler alert, but you already know what it's about, but the way that the doctor described the way that she took the that she took the baby out, he was like in tears. He's like, it's the worst, most botched thing I ever saw in all of my medical history. He was like, it was just horrific. So that was like okay, because you always hear about those things, but you don't realize how extensive that kind of a surgery is to do that.

SPEAKER_00

Sure.

SPEAKER_02

And but my god, there are some really sick fucking people in this world.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, I can only imagine like women who get an actual C-section in the hospital, that's like major abdominal surgery with like a long recovery period. Um, could be, and that's under like medical professionals' care. Never mind a fucking botched like assault to get the baby out of someone.

SPEAKER_02

By a psychopath.

SPEAKER_00

And listen, like, I love my kids, but like it ain't worth cutting someone open to get a baby. Not it.

SPEAKER_02

And how the the it's very like interesting in the documentary because they're the doctor it they're like immediately, they clocked her immediately because of they actually were on a watch in the hospital because they had worked with this woman before and they knew like kind of what she was like, and as soon as they they were on watch uh around nine months after she made her public face like Facebook pregnancy announcement, they're like, something bad's gonna happen. And as soon as they heard there was a murder, they're like and they she came into the hospital and she they were like, We need to check you for hemorrhaging. Like it you and she said, she's like no, no, I don't, I don't need to be checked. And the doctor, the police were like, Can you please check her and see if she had a baby? And the doctor's just like happy as a little clam. He goes, Nope, no baby came out of there.

SPEAKER_00

He knew.

SPEAKER_02

Oh my god, but like how stupid. Oh, I just don't get it. I don't understand, people, the amount of delusion that you have to live in to think that you're going to get away with something like that, something that's like so physically obvious.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, like you don't just like squirt the baby out and like you're back in tip-top shape. Like there's a lot going on down there.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it seems um traumatic. Yeah, very much so. It it it is very good though. I like it. I'll watch it.

SPEAKER_00

I just gotta watch it. I haven't been able to do anything at night after the children I know go unconscious.

SPEAKER_02

You got to steal BWDWK got to steal you for a night.

SPEAKER_00

For now. I was it was I almost canceled because Ruby woke up twice since I woke I put her to bed at like 7 30. So her ears are hurting, but she's been knocked out since so you know fingers crossed. Um speaking of children, um, did you see this case in Ohio with the 16 kids? No. What? This just happened what day was it? It was like a couple days ago, maybe two days ago. I don't know anything about this. Yeah, so this happened in Hamden, Ohio. Um there was a warrant issued or a search warrant issued for this house in Ohio for something unrelated. I don't actually know what the warrant was for, but police were serving a warrant, and they go into this house in rural Ohio, and the house is like falling apart, right? It like is like a condemned kind of looking type of house. And they get in the house, and the house is like deplorable. Like there's like human feces all around. Um, like the floors are caving in, like they actually like the police officers that searched the warrant, like didn't think it was safe for them to be in there. And inside the house living was like um like a grandma and grandpa, and like two other adults, like in their 30s-ish. And then they like are going to the house and they discover 16 children in the house. Um, from the oldest was 18 years old down to like babies. Um, and the the 18-year-old they're treating her as a child because she couldn't even write her name. Like she removed the children, um, obviously, they arrested the four adults involved in the case, and um, they're charged with like felony child endangerment. Um, and there's like there's 16 cases or 16 charges, or probably 16 counts of child felony child endangerment. Um and from what I'm understanding and what they're saying is that okay, so the adults in this case, there's Gary Siders Jr., 36 years old, Gary Siders Sr., 73 years old, Elizabeth Siders, 33, and Christina Siders, 67. Um, so they were arrested for those 16 counts of felon felony child endangerment. They entered not guilty pleas. Um, so the children, there were 16 of them, like I said, between the ages of um from like toddler age to 18 years old. Um they were all the children, all 16 of them were living in a 12 by 12 room altogether. Um, there's like the none of them have been in school. None of them like they don't exist to the government. Like they don't like to birth them at home. Um a lot of the kids like were nonverbal. Um, now this is like rural Ohio, so I don't know how close their closest neighbors were, but they interviewed neighbors and like the neighbors didn't even know there were any kids in that house because the kids never left the house. Um and the what I've been reading is that the the 33-year-old woman, she birthed all these children. Holy shit. And giving birth to the first one when she was like 13 years old. Um, and in those children, there are three sets of twins. And the I read that she also gave birth to another set of t twins who died during childbirth. Oh my god. Um, so and if you look up these their photos, like the grandpa Gary Sr. I'm sorry, he looks very much inbred. Like I don't know what's going on there.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Um, but there's like theories online that like I bet like some of the older kids birthed the younger kids. I was thinking that like yeah. Um, so it's not good. It's like very it's like another like turpin family type of thing, but I think this might be even worse because the turpens like left the house and like you know, not they didn't have a good life by any means, but like it was a little better at least, yeah. Like they were like issued with the government. They these were like completely 16 kids in one room, like oh my god, peeing and shitting on the floor, like and my mom was like, How do you like and like a lot of the kids were obviously like malnourished? Right. Um, I read one report that said like if they came like a day or two later, the cops like they thought a couple of kids would have died from like malnutrition and just like deplorable conditions that they were living in.

SPEAKER_02

How did they find out about this?

SPEAKER_00

Um, I couldn't um figure it out, but they were the police were serving a search warrant for something unrelated. I don't know what the unrelated charges were, what the warrant was for, but they were there for another illegal issue. Oh my god, those poor kids. Yeah. And my mom was saying, like, how like did no one like hear like the kids are hungry and stuff? Like, how do they not hear them crying? I said, well, like kids cry, but like they learn, like, if you don't take care of them, they stop crying. Yeah, yeah. And like also if they're like malnourished, like you like babies like in third world countries who are starving, they don't cry because they don't have the energy to cry. Like it's like so sad.

SPEAKER_02

That's so sad. Those poor kids, and they're all I'm guessing, like in foster care or something.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, they're all like well, uh uh there's several of them had to go to the hospital. One was um intubated once they got to the hospital. So um, I don't know like the status, but a lot of them are have like like medical stuff going on, they need to get back to health, and I'm a hundred percent sure that they're all going to this state and going to have to be going to foster care. I just can't imagine what the purpose of this is. Do you know what I mean? Like I don't know. Like, if the if it's the the girl, the woman that birthed all of them, like obviously she was abused if she started giving birth at 13 years old. Like, I don't know, like I'm sure we'll find out more as like the trial goes on, but um obviously she was abused, and God knows like what the whole is if I'm understanding correctly, like she was abused, and then the Gary Jr. It's his parents, that's what's making sense to me. And then she was brought in, got married to him. I don't know. I or I don't know if she's their siblings, I have no clue, but I have no I have no idea. Oh, that's this has all just happened like yesterday, I think.

SPEAKER_02

Ew, I have not heard anything about this. Yeah, it's bad.

SPEAKER_00

But do you see the their mug shots? If you look up their mug shots, like tell me that the grandpa is not from in from inbreeding. Let me see.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, one hundred percent. Yeah. One hundred percent That's like some horror movie shit, but that house and those people.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, like all four of them look like crazy. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

I don't the the whole human race needs to just be and start over again.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I'm like curious to see like when all this comes out, like who's related to who, like who birthed the children? Like there's just a lot, a lot going on.

SPEAKER_02

Sixteen children, like how can your body even physically I mean I know people used to do it and still obviously do it today, but like that just seems like so much trauma?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, with with four pregnancies being twins. And like if it they all came from her, she's 33 years old.

SPEAKER_02

So yeah, like there's no way.

SPEAKER_00

I bet I bet there had to be some from other that would be what 14 pregnancies with a set of twins that passed away. That's like literally giving birth and then getting pregnant nonstop. Like immediately after your entire adult life.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, that poor girl. Yeah. He'll be interested to see what happens. Yeah, the scary stuff out there.

SPEAKER_00

Um yeah, not to uh bring down the mood here, but that just happened. That's all we do on this podcast.

SPEAKER_02

We bring down the mood. That's all I I got nothing today. I'm sorry. I'm a terrible co-host.

SPEAKER_00

No, I no, I knew what I want to talk about, and that was I I I got them all chugged out.

SPEAKER_02

You got all the points. Um you carried us on your back.

SPEAKER_00

You know.

SPEAKER_02

So thank you.

SPEAKER_00

I do what I can for the community. For the community.

SPEAKER_02

Next time I'll have more stuff.

SPEAKER_00

Oh wait, should we talk about anything political? Is there anything political to talk about? I just think like the government is going to like absolute shit. Like, did you see the latest AI video that Donald Trump posted?

SPEAKER_02

Talking to Teddy Roosevelt?

SPEAKER_00

That, and then he posted one that was like him as a doctor.

SPEAKER_02

Oh my god, yes.

SPEAKER_00

Dr. Trump here, are you suffering from TDS, Trump derangements, and then like it has like AI videos of like Rosie O'Donnell and like what the Goldberg and shit?

SPEAKER_02

We're living in the worst form of dystopia.

SPEAKER_00

Like, that's our president posting that.

SPEAKER_02

Like I did see though today that the um Supreme Supreme Court overruled Trump trying to dismiss birthright citizenship or getting rid of birthright citizenship.

SPEAKER_00

I did see that. It's like that's good news. That's the constitution.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, that's good.

SPEAKER_00

You know what I love about that whole fucking argument with the birthright citizenship is like people say that who are like opposed to birthright citizenship, like, well, you know, it's in the constitution, but they're like, yeah, but the founding fathers never would have imagined like the immigration issue and anchor beeping blah blah blah. I like, yeah, and you know what they also never imagine is when they wrote the Second Amendment 1847. Yeah, like, come on!

SPEAKER_02

We can't pick and choose so my god.

SPEAKER_00

I just hate the government. I just hate it so much.

SPEAKER_02

I almost like disassociate from the government because and also can I just say can I just say that we're very close to July 4th, of course. And I think that like I get I get having like a picnic with your family and stuff like that, and going to see the fireworks, like I get that. That's whatever. But to be actively celebrating July 4th and the 250th birthday of America, which is not even accurate, we all know, depending on what state you live in. I think that's shameful. I don't understand why we're doing this still. Like, oh, let me get my little what are we doing?

SPEAKER_00

As people are like, I'm celebrating celebrating the country, not the administration. And I'm like, okay, but like how do you muster up the energy to celebrate this country? Like celebrate what could be, like what like we had uh some time to figure it out, and we still haven't got there. Like, what are you celebrating? No universal health care, no free no public education, no like higher public education, no universal child care, like no universal based income, our food is shit. Like, what are we celebrating here? We're bringing measles back. Like, what are you talking about?

SPEAKER_02

I'll ne I'll never understand. I r I truly do not. Like at work today, people were like, Happy fourth, happy fourth. Like, that's not a thing, first of all. I don't remember ever saying that before. Never. And second of all, I'm not saying that back to you. Like, that's weird. I don't understand.

SPEAKER_00

Like, I'm not celebrating anything in the summer. I guess besides Ruby's birthday.

SPEAKER_02

I don't like my dog's terrified of fireworks. I don't think that's right. We're gonna scare all the little animals. I think July 4th is a bogus holiday. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I concur.

SPEAKER_02

No, I think like it's cute, like the only I'll make an except I as if what I say go. I think like I love seeing like little kids when they're in their cute little outfits for July 4th. I'm like, that's adorable. I love I love that. That's cute. Because they're little kids and they don't understand. They're naive, they don't get it yet. And there's a little sparkler, like cute. I love that. But and a grown adult being like happy fourth. Yeah, excuse me. That screams to me if you say that.

SPEAKER_00

And I wonder like how European countries view us celebrating 4th of July because, like, oh, it's our 250th anniversary birthday or whatever. Meanwhile, like European countries are like thousands of years old and they're like, oh, it's it's cute. That's like your second birthday.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I truly don't understand. I've been really like on a tip about July 4th recently.

SPEAKER_00

I well, I the whole 250th anniversary thing, like I just like don't understand. Like our town is doing like our our two like a couple of surrounding towns too. Like, it's our our borough's 150th birthday. It's our borough's uh 100th birthday. And I'm like, fucking cares.

SPEAKER_02

Like, I get why can't we just the people it's just community? Like, why can't we just do community events? We don't need an excuse. We could just say, like, hey, let's get the neighborhood together.

SPEAKER_00

Although I did see a TikTok, there were like some of these states that are celebrating America's 250th. It's like South Dakota. What are you doing celebrating 250? Like Hawaii Hawaii. Yeah, like this is for the 13 colonies only. Yeah, that's it. So even that, like the the big American state fair happening in Washington, DC that like no one has shown up to, like, makes me like I think it's so funny.

SPEAKER_02

I think that before Trump was elected, it it before Trump was ever like part of the picture, it could have been something cool.

SPEAKER_00

Well, I don't know the whole detail on it, but apparently, like there was another organization that was doing a 250th celebration for America, and then like Trump had to do like his like Freedom 250. Like it's and it's like he made it a partisan thing, and now like all these artists back now that were gonna go to it because they it became political, and it's like I don't know, like all the like uh video footage of the fair is like so barren that there's like dozens of people there as opposed to like thousands.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I mean, because what did they want? It's not gonna be like a world fair. No, people don't care, people are very disappointed in the country. Like people are more interested in the um World Cup or whatever that's called.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, the soccer thing.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, the soccer thing. They're very interested in that.

SPEAKER_00

The thing I don't obviously follow any sports. Um, like I don't I don't care about soccer, but I do I did enjoy all of the TikToks of Europeans coming to America and trying like our food and going to Walmart and like Costco and they love it, being immersed in American culture, and like not that Americ like all those things are like good at all, but I love them seeing like why we are the way that we are now like they're like, Oh, I get it. Like, this is why I I'm smuggling a gallon of ranch back to Italy.

SPEAKER_02

Yep, yeah. Why are they so obsessed with our ranch?

SPEAKER_00

They don't have ranch in Europe. The valley's really hidden, you know.

SPEAKER_02

It's stop. Did you see that guy from Germany who was crying and he was like, Everyone here has been so nice to me. Oh I didn't expect everyone in America to be nice.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, they also really love our air conditioning because there's no air air. I think that's the one thing that I couldn't go to Europe. I couldn't move there. I need the air conditioning, but also it's like why do they not have air conditioning? I don't understand.

SPEAKER_02

I don't understand it either. And how are they living without it? Because I would truly die, like not even in a funny way. I don't understand.

SPEAKER_00

No, I don't I don't like what do you do? You just suffer, but our summers are allegedly hotter than theirs, too. So I don't know.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I don't think I would want to experience that. That sounds awful.

SPEAKER_00

And there's like I've seen a couple of people on TikTok um with Europeans saying that they understand why we use Fahrenheit temperature for weather, because they're like they use obviously Celsius. Well, everywhere every other country uses Celsius for their temperature, but they're like, you know, when it's a hundred degrees Fahrenheit, like that's 34 degrees Celsius. Like it doesn't give the same vibe as well. Right, it's not the same thing. Yeah, they're like 100, like it's 80 degrees Fahrenheit, that means it's 80% hot. But it doesn't convey the same in Celsius, so they're like, Fahrenheit is for body. Celsius. Celsius is for like water. Like, it's because you know, water freezes at zero and boils at 34. It's like, yeah, but you're not water, you're a human. We're people, I mean mostly made of water, but it kind of makes us like, oh wow, like is America doing something right that Europeans are agreeing with us, and they're like, they're like, no wonder you guys are fucking fat. This food is great.

SPEAKER_02

I love food.

SPEAKER_00

I saw one of the guys like, why is this quesadilla the size of my head? It's like, oh that looks like a normal size quesadilla to me.

SPEAKER_02

That's good.

SPEAKER_00

Oh.

SPEAKER_02

That's why we are the way that we are.

SPEAKER_00

I'm glad they got to experience our culture.

SPEAKER_02

It's embarrassing, but it's ours. Or like, um, I just saw this and it made me think. I saw like all these girls getting these. Really? Yeah, I saw this girl, she got like 20 bottles of this Yoast lotion. She's like, I got one for each member of my family.

SPEAKER_00

Oh my god, is that like it's so funny the things that were like, oh, this is what you're like needing in Europe?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. That and um all of Chloe Kardashian's vitamins are apparently really I didn't know that. Which I do like.

SPEAKER_00

No, it's Courtney Kardashian's diamonds. How dare you! Courtney, I'm sorry. They also like love the videos of them going to Walmart, and they're like, there's every flavor of soda like imaginable. There's like 30 varieties of Oreos.

SPEAKER_02

We're just special here. We're just beautiful culture, a beautiful cultured people.

SPEAKER_00

It's like, yeah, well, I'm sorry, I don't have like a butcher next door to me to go buy my meat for the next two days. I don't have a farmer's market. Like Right. I wish that I did. Yeah, like I live in an unwalkable city.

SPEAKER_02

Like, I don't even live in a city, I live in a borough. Yeah. I can't walk anywhere. I could walk. If I do walk to my grocery store, people look at me like I've lost my mind.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, there's literally a grocery store, like, I don't know, like a 15-minute walk from me, but my neighborhood, one, doesn't have sidewalks. Yeah, two, is all hills. Yeah. And three, it's like it's not good product there. Like, Eric bought ground like a little package of ground beef from there the other day, and like it went bad within like I don't know, 24 hours. No. So we don't go there.

unknown

No.

SPEAKER_00

But welcome to America. I hope you enjoyed your time. You probably will never come back.

SPEAKER_02

I don't want to blame them. Except for the AC. The AC and the ranch. Beautiful. God bless America.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, we need it.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, please.

SPEAKER_00

There's also rumors that Trump is on his last 60 days of living on Earth. So Mitch McConnell's probably dead. Um, that's going around too.

SPEAKER_02

So they've been saying Trump's gonna die though every month forever. But I do That's true. I didn't see that thing. So sorry about his vein leg situation going on. So there's that.

SPEAKER_00

He's shitting himself. He has like pretty obvious dementia. He's like snoozing during the day, he's sundowning. Uh, there's this physical therapist that I follow on TikTok who does like a breakdown of like the medical stuff going on with Trump based off of his you know experience. He's been giving a countdown for quite some time, but he's down to like 62 days of of time on earth left for him. So that's incredible. Yeah. I mean, what happens after that? I don't know. Nothing good, of course. Yeah, I mean, JD Vance was gonna take hold, which is like can't stand him. So um, but they'll they're saying that if Trump does die soon, that they're not gonna tell anyone for a while because they're gonna have to make it seem like something more dramatic happened because he has to be a martyr. A hero. Right. Right.

SPEAKER_02

So I can't wait.

SPEAKER_00

We're gonna have a beautiful day. You know, and I'm I'm in a position where I'm like privileged, where like a lot of stuff that happens in the government doesn't affect me a whole lot right now. Um I just I'm I've become so apathetic to the administration that I'm just like whatever. Like this is like a fucking like TV show at this point.

SPEAKER_02

It's just stupid, and I don't believe any anything they say anymore.

SPEAKER_00

No, you can't. Actually, JD Vance was on Bill Maher, which I don't like Bill Maher, but he was on Bill Maher, and Bill Maher said to him, like, you know, the thing with like your party is that the Republicans the Republicans say, if um when we win, we win, but if we lose, that means they cheated. And it's like you guys gotta stop that. And JD Vance gave like this smug little smirk, and I'm like, I hate everyone. Oh, he's disgusting. He's so did you see click he was on his wife Us? Oh my god, and he was like, it was like the first time he met her, he like gave her a leg tap, and I'm like, What is going on? Like, you have she's pregnant with your fourth child. Like, have you guys been in the same room together? Leave this poor woman alone. They're they're bizarre.

SPEAKER_02

That's a bizarre relationship. Sorry, Andy's licking extremely loud in the corner here.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, okay.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, absolutely bizarre. I think he's holding her hostage. There's just something in her eyes that I'm like, something's wrong.

SPEAKER_00

And do you see she said like they Charlie Kirk's death is what made them want to have another child. Like that's bizarre. When she announced that she was pregnant, everyone's like, not everyone, but like people who are like on a weird part of the internet, like I am. Um when she got pregnant and announced her pregnancy, they were like, do the math. They're like, she got pregnant when Charlie Kirk got assassinated. And then she like literally comes up to goes, Oh yeah, like that really like solidified our decision that we won't have another child. It's like what? What do you mean?

SPEAKER_02

I wonder I don't know. Maybe because remember how Erica was like, I pray that I'm pregnant right now. Maybe that maybe that I have a piece of Charlie with me.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know. That case is starting soon, too, I believe. Uh with Tyler Robinson and allegedly Erica Kirk and Charlie's family is going to be at trial, but there's I don't know. I try not to watch Candace Owens a whole lot because she's like, you know, Looney Tunes, but she's got stuff to say about a couple things to say. You know what they say? A broken clock is right twice a day, so what a little old man thing to say.

SPEAKER_02

Broken clock's right twice a day. A watch pot never boils. That's my old man thing. Well, this was a nice little catch-up. It was a catch-up. It was a good catch-up.

SPEAKER_00

Well, I hope you have a great 4th of July. I know how I feel about it.

SPEAKER_02

It's almost as bad as Thanksgiving. What do you hate more, 4th of July or Thanksgiving? Thanksgiving.

SPEAKER_00

You hate Thanksgiving more than 4th of July? For sure.

SPEAKER_02

I think I think Thanksgiving is terrible. Wow.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. That's interesting. Okay. Well.

SPEAKER_02

I like ice cream. Like you can have ice cream on 4th of July at least.

SPEAKER_00

You can have ice cream for Thanksgiving.

SPEAKER_02

You can, but not like in the same way. Not like in a cone outside.

SPEAKER_00

It'll melt.

SPEAKER_02

True.

SPEAKER_00

Alright. Well, um nice chit chatting. Uh follow us on Instagram, subscribe, rate, and review, and we will talk to everyone next time. Bye. Bye.
