You know how y'all doing today? Hey maintaining, like always. Can't complain. There it is. Y'all know they say, man. We're pretty fair for a square. That's all. We woke up above ground and we breathing, man. Yes, sir.
SPEAKER_03Yes sir.
SPEAKER_01Man, just to um, you know, let people know, man, and recap, this is our second episode, y'all, of the three the hard way podcast. We got a lot of good. I seen one negative comment and I laughed at it. I ain't even paid no mind because it's just jealousy.
SPEAKER_03You can't send that to me because I need to be up on it.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_01So we go, we can snap back.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, we all we do it right here live.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, but you know, we got we got a lot of positive things that was said too, and I think one of the biggest compliments, you know, we all talked about it, is that um they said that uh we remind them of the pivot podcast. You know, we said Jody, they said you Fred Taylor, man, you know, the smooth laid back one. They gotta see the other side of you. They said they said I was more like um, what's my man's name? I done forgot his damn name. Ryan Clark, Ryan Clark, yeah. I don't dress like him, but you know, but I feel I'm a mixture of Ryan Clark because they said yeah was Mr. Channing. Uh and I'm like, yeah, you are a mixture, yeah. We both flip flopping that role, man. Absolutely, absolutely, because we both can have it, and it I know you even gonna be that way because you out of all you you the freaky one out of all Lord. Yeah, it ain't even I don't even think it was, yeah, that's for real. So, you know, that was cool though. But yeah, I'm gonna have to send y'all that, and I'm gonna send y'all the link so y'all can always look on the YouTube and see what people be saying. But it was a lot of positive feedback, and people was like, Why y'all don't come on every week? I said, Because we're busy, you know, everybody do have life. Oh, yeah, you know, and this way they can stay tuned in to us because now you're waiting for us, you know what I'm saying? And like you said, yeah, when you know when you finna jump off your podcast, yeah, it's it's gonna it's gonna be it's gonna be in September, man.
SPEAKER_03That's all right. That's that's the plan. That's and I'm and I'm I'm gonna tell you something, man. Shout out to you, man, because sometimes people see the end product, they don't understand the work that go into it. Let me let me tell you something, bro. Just coming on with not the preparation, it's so smooth, yeah. Because when you gotta prepare for stuff, it's almost it's a almost like a week in advance for a show, getting all the stuff, man. So shout out to you, and plus, you got a lot of other stuff with martial media, man. So shout out, shout out to you, man. Uh yeah, much love too. It is it's it's work, it's work. You got all that stuff going on. I got a lot of work with one.
SPEAKER_01But you know what? I that's why I was blessed to be retired, so I can do this, man. Yeah, you know, he know this was my passion, my heart, you know. So it was cool. When I was out taking pictures today, I had a media teacher at a high school ask me, Can I come in and show his class how to run a productive podcast? Oh, that's what's up. I said, That's cool. Yeah, I can do that, you know. So, and then I'm taking you pictures of you football, and you know, I ain't gonna lie to you, my hands feel like woo they're about to fall off. Hey, but I tell you, you better stop going to the little high school stuff, the itch man.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, gonna have him back out there. No, back on the sideline.
SPEAKER_01One of the reporters asked me today, he was like, Kevin, you coming back? I'm like, uh no, I'll be here taking pictures like you. Yeah, you know, I did. I went to three different high schools in the week, you know. Next week, football starts here in the city, so I'm gonna catch some games and you know, do what I do, man. But no, I ain't going back.
SPEAKER_03So let me ask you so who supposed to have the uh at a real deal this year.
SPEAKER_01In Saginaw, yeah. Well, when it comes to our inner city schools, it's gonna be probably Saginaw United.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_01But when you go on the rural area, it's still gonna be Freeland, Frank and Move. And they saying Swan Valley got the whip over there. Really? Mm-hmm. I I haven't seen too much of heritage, you know. They be low-key, man, so I don't chase nobody. You know what I'm saying? I reach out one time, you don't have to hell with it. He just won't get my coverage, you know. Absolutely. You know, that's how I feel, man. And since we own this, man, and we talking sports, you know, let's go into our new segment, y'all. It's called the sports moment. All right. It's in this moment, all we're gonna do, we're gonna talk about a few things with the NFL starting. We ain't even gonna touch college right now. We're gonna touch NFL. We had a brief discussion on it during the week, and we start with uh Mr. Jody Nunn, Detroit Lions, man.
SPEAKER_02How you feel about him, I feel good about him, but at the same time, I still feel like Jared Goff, not the answer for us, man. I uh he's too one dimensional to me. He is he's a slinger, but he can't run. He's slow as me when he's running at my age, man. It's like, come on, you got all them weapons around him. I feel like you're doing him a dis doing them a disservice, man. Jameer Gibbs, man, all of them. I'm around Ross St. Brown. It's like we deep over there, man, on the offense, but we just need somebody a little more, you know, two-dimensional. He can't even run, he can't pick it up and run, man. He you know, if he can't get the pass going, Jameer ain't going, he's he's stuck. He can't do nothing. So that's my you know, only thing bad about them the downfall with them. And I hope that the coach gave up that play caller, man. Because last year, to me, man, he was just making a mess, man. I don't know what I don't know what he was doing. Hire people to do the job, but you can't do it, man. Just you know, be head coach and don't let the offensive defensive coordinator handle their business.
SPEAKER_01I hope his ass punt this year, man.
SPEAKER_02Oh, exactly. Man, he he cost us a Super Bowl a couple years ago. We should have been in that thing, man. All he had to do was punt, man. Take the points, take the field goal with the Super Bowl.
SPEAKER_03Man, he's a proud for dude, man. And it's like, but you know what? I know Gonf don't run, but you know what? Um, he stands to his strengths. He knows he he can't. As long as he gets that thing out to them weapons. I mean, that's that's the thing. Yeah, so sometimes he holds a little long, but once he gets that thing out there, because they got, like I said, they got what I'm glad. It's cool to see Gibbs get his money. I think five others got that money.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, he deserved it, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, because they they devalue the running back position for a year. In fact, the last person who got a real deal, I think, were outside of Zekwan was probably like Zeke, down in Dallas.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah, you write about that too. You're right about that. That's crazy. So you know, yeah, stay in the Windy City, man. So we gotta we gotta touch bases. I know you're a fan of me, a fan of the Lions, too, but that's also your rival, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Man, that that north is gonna be tough, man. Because Greenway, and they the gay Kyler Murray, the starting job of Minnesota, so it's gonna be, yeah, man. Kayla, man, I like like I said, I would took me a minute to get past them. Yeah, but long he's saying that that he he's different in terms of man, he he got a he loves the the moment. He loves the moment, man. And it's good he got a coach for a couple years, so we're gonna we're gonna see, man. But um, yeah, it just yeah, we're gonna we're gonna see.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, they but they scared me more than uh more than uh Green Bay or Minnesota in the North. They scared me, you know, with Detroit more than those other two teams do. He got so many weapons around him, man. And they got Detroit's offensive coordinator, Ben Johnson. So he you know, he's real innovative, man, with his play call and everything. So they they scare me out of any of those teams.
SPEAKER_03And it's it's crazy that they got Ben, but Ben beef is with LaFleur LaFleur. What's the name of the fleur? Yeah, yeah. He be like, Oh, yeah, I want that smoke from you. I I don't know if dude uh got with his girl or something or whatever, but it but that joint seemed personal, yeah. And I love it. I love it.
SPEAKER_02He's still hating him from his time in Detroit. He's still hating LaFleur, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Well, he can't say that, dude. But you know, LaFleur a little cocky dude anyway, though. His haircut piss you off. Yeah, I'm just keep it real. The way his hair sits on his head, it's kind of like Jimmy Johnson hair used to be. Yeah, you know, you can do whatever, and his hair still wouldn't go nowhere.
SPEAKER_03Oh, yeah, Jimmy. Yeah, Jimmy's that dude, though.
SPEAKER_01Mm-hmm. We talked too, man, and I can't believe this this Jody Super Bowl prediction team right here. Terrible.
SPEAKER_03Well, hey, it's all come down to hell, and I'm telling you, wait a minute. Has did Aaron Donald been making official yet?
SPEAKER_02No, he's been practicing with him. He hasn't made it official yet, but he's been out there doing drills.
SPEAKER_03Man, listen. Yeah, now if he comes back, it's a problem. But yeah, but even if he don't, man, that's that's not a go out on the limb prediction, man. I mean, you know, barring health, and that's a big thing. They got heat on both sides, man. Yeah, they got heat on both sides. Oh, yeah. I mean, when you think about Garrett, man, I mean, for him to register, I mean what he had, 23 and a half, 22 sacks, whatever it was.
SPEAKER_02He broke uh he broke the record last year, right?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, so for him to do that, and they was always losing. Yep, yeah, see, I mean, that's I mean that's the that's the key. For him to still have that number, and they was always you know, once you can leave, cat's so for him to continue, yeah.
SPEAKER_01If that hey man, that's yeah, that's gonna be a problem, bro. Yeah, it is, man. But but they they gotta still, you know, they NLC. So y'all already know they gotta come right here. Oh, okay, okay. I even I even wore the hat today just to show you.
SPEAKER_03I see, I see. Listen, man. Hey, if it hey, listen, they if if the defense do what they do, because they you know, they gonna score. They're gonna score. They gonna score. I I wish you took care of Pickens, though.
SPEAKER_01I wish you just took care of my man, but yeah, yeah, but I think I think he's gonna get it this year after the season, and then uh they're talking about signing Bobby Wagner, too. Oh, okay, just to come in and go with Von Miller. So yeah, we give him, you know, I just watched the Saints and they joint practice. You know, we was whooping their ass on the field, off the field physically, you know, except the one cat got slammed by Rick Steiner's son. You know, that's wrong. He's Souffle, my man.
SPEAKER_03Oh, hey, you know they'll give a hell a lot, bro.
SPEAKER_01No they gave hell.
SPEAKER_02See, care what piss me about your team, man. Is Jerry Jones? The white guys ain't never gotta fuss or uh get their money, yeah. But the brothers they gotta wait and wait and wait. You want to hold them out, you wanna, yeah, you want to franchise tag and all this kind of stuff, man. Ain't Tony Romo ain't never had to wait all that money. But all these brothers, they always gotta wait.
SPEAKER_03And and they and they say, uh, man, why you be throwing race in it? I said, because that's how I was real brother. And that's how I see it's and see, my thing is, dude, got somebody's pre-producing, ain't no way I would have let Parsons go.
SPEAKER_02No way, no, ain't no way, no, no way, no man.
SPEAKER_03So it's like, but like I said, man, it's that it's that rich billionaire, man. That that's select club. Oh, yeah, there, dare I say, slave owner mentality, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Because he was out there protesting against the black people, not the integrated integrate schools back then. So you know what he code anyway.
SPEAKER_03You know what I mean? So, yeah, man. So it's like, but come on, man, you can you can't let that one get away. So, yeah, so no, no, man. Look, go ahead and lock him up, man. And for that, that franchise type is the way he gets thrown so much a year. That's that's straight. Yeah, long term, if you get hurt, security, exactly.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, right. Absolutely. Because if you get hurt, you get that money, and that's it, and that's it. Yep, that's the problem. He balls out this year and don't get hurt, dude. It goes up. He's gonna get paid higher than C D.
SPEAKER_03Yep, that's that's what happened with Dak. That's what happened with that. You know what? And what I like about Dak, Dak ain't taking no home count, home discount. But that let them do it, and dare I say the Super Bowl, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Hey, yeah, real. But Dak better get us over shit. He got to, man. And I I ain't got this picture, man. The last cat we talked about in the NFL. I I don't know how I forget his picture to put up, but we got to talk about number two, y'all. Yeah, and Shador Shador Sanders. What y'all think Cleveland doing, bro?
SPEAKER_02I think they're trying to play old boy man just because they owe him all that money, is why they're trying to put Deshaun Watson out there. But I think through the course of the season, the fans are gonna cry for Shador to be out there if Watson ain't showing out and producing right up right up the rip. Because that's something really plant him all that money, man. They want to save phases. Hey, we give him all this money, we gotta put him out there.
SPEAKER_03Uh yeah, and you know what? Oh, I'm sorry, K, but I was saying no, I'm just saying you're right because you know what he was, and with that money, they said, Man, we gotta at least see. We gotta see, man, because now, like you said, if they go one and three, oh and four, or even two and two with him playing bad. I I think by game five, excuse me, and what's what's funny about Shadur, he's not like what they call the black quarterback, he's a pocket guy. Yeah, yeah, that's funny because he's not athletic like his dad. He's he's just not no he's precise, he has the confidence and the squad level, but the shy because you mean with when Deshaun was right, yeah, that was my dude, man. Oh, yeah, with the Texans, yeah, he was Clemson. Yeah, I'm like, but yeah, I say, dude, but I know this ain't on the script, but I'm like, dude, do you even mean that many different massage people?
SPEAKER_02Right.
SPEAKER_03I mean, because what yeah, and I'm sitting there like, dude, I mean, do you go to I I ain't got hair now, but I didn't go I ain't go to 500 different uh Bababas, you know, the dude was messing my beard, and I go to one dude, where it's really two, but one, you know what I mean? So to put yourself in that situation and then you know you got an issue.
SPEAKER_01Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Because to be real, he should be thanking God he's still in the league.
SPEAKER_03Yep, oh for sure.
SPEAKER_01Because he was a freak of the week.
SPEAKER_03Just like like class 88.
SPEAKER_02Hey, how many of them? How many freaks of we was in that 88? Uh yeah.
SPEAKER_03Uh hey man, uh hey man, y'all was hey, y'all y'all was freaks and and gangsters. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01I'm working on the gangster side.
SPEAKER_03Okay, it was it was a lot of gangsters, but yeah, yeah. Yeah, you know that's crazy. I know it's all good though.
SPEAKER_0188 was great, you know.
SPEAKER_02Hey Nanya, you honor every eight, man. You you can go 88 on a clan reunion. You honor every 88. Honor.
SPEAKER_03He was an 89 one. Yeah, that would be cool. My my class will give me hell, but uh I say I I got invited, you know what I mean?
SPEAKER_02Because I'm putting something together for uh for 28, man, 540. If we're gonna go to the basing between Barbados or um Jamaica, or something we trying to trying to figure out the best pricing for it, but uh yeah, man, yeah, because we we actually doing the um and we flying, Kev, not uh not no boat. I know you don't like that.
SPEAKER_03Hey, hey, see that flying one of our subjects gonna go with that flying thing that you got a problem with, too. That's that's that's funny you said that.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, absolutely. Okay, for sure. Well, we got a couple more things in the sports department we want to talk about, and all I'm gonna do is show the pictures, and I already know y'all gonna comment, man. You know, first off, here we go. Yep, and then this Negro here. Oh Lord, I oh my god, yeah. What do y'all think about that crap?
SPEAKER_02They need their ass whooped. That's what I think about it. That's what I think, both of them. Yeah, and you know, I tell you what, I'm I'm uh I I see one of I was man, one of them one of them girls, um, man, a hub. I see them jumpers walking at somebody playing on the girl, I'm whooping their ass. Then you go in the locker room, my girl, man. Come on, man.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it's it's too much, man. I'm my thing is why would you even want to do it? But you know, but see WNBA there in the pickle, like they're I'm I was going through their little rule, they rules and whatnot, but and it's it's not like not like dude, what's what's dude's name? Um the one he's a um house representative or what whatever he is, not uh not uh not Canter. What's the other cat name? Um Royce Jones, yeah. In college, oh yeah, I always say, and then when he got rid of Houston, he tried to work out a deal to where he could take the bus to their away games. Oh wow, it was to the point that he had so much anxiety, they was giving them um uh what's what they was giving Benadryl and all kind of crap, man. So but but can't think about cancer, man. See, I think what they're gonna do, all the owners get together. We are not going to draft either one of these dudes, right? And that's what they need to do because they drive, man, cancer gonna be killing man. Cancer won't no bum.
SPEAKER_01No, and he shouldn't know.
SPEAKER_02That's I don't know why he would want to play with the women, man. Why would you want that kind of unfair advantage?
SPEAKER_03But but for some reason, I think it's something political he he's trying to do because like because, like I said, he wasn't no scrub, you know what I'm saying? So, I mean, his best, I think, for the OKC look like 18 and 12, I think. Yeah, I mean, you know what I mean? So, yeah, why would you even want to, man? Yeah, for women's basketball, I've got a great appreciation. I've had okay, just but probably the last couple years, I had two young cousins in LA, man, that played, and they would come to Chicago for the Nike of Tournament Champions. It was like 700 girls across the country here, and I and I was there, man, and just see them girls play. So let them have that game, man. Let them have yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01You can't if you can't cut it in the league now, and you know, it's over it's sad, but yeah, I think I think they need to crack down on that, change their wording a little bit, yeah. So that way you can stop that lost Jay for a minute, he'll be back. But yeah, I thought that was like some of the wildest stuff I ever seen, man. Yeah, I said this some real uh Joanna Man shit going on.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, sure, yeah. You know, without without the wig. Well, they well they're coming out straight now, like you know, the man without the rip, they ain't even faking that. Come on, man.
SPEAKER_01He just straight up. I'm trying out for them to get drafted in the WNBA.
SPEAKER_02I don't know how that can even be considered, man. Even a lot of them do that.
SPEAKER_01And if I ain't mistaken, my man, uh the Royce dude got on somebody's podcast with a wig on. No, I should have had that picture up, but I thought that was I thought that was kind of absurd right there, bro.
SPEAKER_02Now they got an uproar about which shouldn't be allowed anyway, a transgender men being in the bathroom with in the girls' bathroom and stuff, you know, transgender if you want to be women, but your boys, you got you got male parts. So how do you think you want to allow men to play in women's you know sports? That's that's ridiculous. You don't want to let them play in track or anything else, but you're gonna let them play basketball. Come on, man. That's crazy.
SPEAKER_01I think all that stuff stemmed from the Olympics. I think the last Olympics, they had a male boxing female. Oh, wow. Yeah, and still got his ass whooped. Oh, good. Yeah, he still got beat. He was I don't know what country he was from, but you can tell he looked like my man that uh canter dude, big, you know, and had a mustache, but had long hair, and he was boxing in the Olympics though. Because I think overseas, you know, some places they allow them cats to do that crap in. That's a damn shame.
SPEAKER_02Man, speaking of boxing, what was Ray J and Orlando Rod and all that? Comedy.
SPEAKER_01I'ma tell you what I did. I'm 56 years old. I put out there to Ray J people. I want to box his ass. Yeah. I just want to beat the hell out on a man, shut him up. You know, I'm I'm gonna give him one wish. And I'm gonna put these calls on him.
SPEAKER_02Oh man, all they had to do is play some Benny Hill music, them two out there fighting.
SPEAKER_01Then that fool had the audacity to say that they fight was the key fight of the night. I I couldn't even watch his interview, man. It was stupid. But uh Shill, she uh she uh checked him though. He came back and said something to him, so then he came back with all this glazing her and she the best woman, this, that, and that. But him and Orlando Brown should really be banned from any entertainment in America right now.
SPEAKER_02Oh, it sure should, yeah. And you see that one um one uh female boxer that she offered Carissa uh five million to boxer, but she took a fight with somebody that 500k for that fight instead of boxing her for five million.
SPEAKER_01For real?
SPEAKER_02Yep, took a wife for somebody with no knockouts. Uh yeah, so she offered her five million to box, and she took 500k to fight the other girl.
SPEAKER_01I would love to see Carissa and uh Carissa and Bum Garden fight. I would love that. Yeah, my bad. No, you good man. We we was just touching bases on the stupidest boxing match we ever seen in our life, man. Yeah, you know what?
SPEAKER_03I I didn't even see it. I think it wasn't as stupid as I think.
SPEAKER_01It was stupid. Yeah, stupid error. It was like hey, I told it I um oh yeah, you just appeared again. Yo, camera. Is it yeah, we can see you, but yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yo, yo, this thing point shaving, man.
SPEAKER_01Uh uh. No, don't be you on there.
SPEAKER_03I see myself. Y'all still don't see me.
SPEAKER_01No, we can't hear you. We hear you loud and clear though.
SPEAKER_03Okay, well that's that's cool. That's that's encouraging.
SPEAKER_01Everybody with the black box, that's Danye Jones, y'all. He's still here with us. He'll come back in.
SPEAKER_03I see my screen too. I see my cell phone now, but ain't no telling what it was.
SPEAKER_01You know how technology is, man.
SPEAKER_03Yes, yes, it's great when it works.
SPEAKER_01That's right, it's great when it's working, and sometimes it just don't just don't happen. But I did, y'all. I I sent Ray J people a message and said, I want to fight Ray J. I want two rounds, one minute.
SPEAKER_02He needs that one. I'll be winning it for the second row. He needs that one.
SPEAKER_01I'm gonna give him one wish, and I'm gonna I'm gonna beat his ass for the old and new, like my mama used to say when we were growing up. Because it's it's a mockery of a black man doing it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And Orlando Brown, I know the drugs took over him, so I yeah I can't be too mad at him. But he's stupid though. Yeah, you gotta watch their highlights, bro. You're gonna you're gonna get you a good laugh, bro. But yeah. So we're gonna go, we're gonna go on. Yeah, let's let's let's touch on this other this a touchy subject here. I've been trying to watch it. I get frustrated, y'all, but we gotta we gotta touch bases after 30 years, man. They finally got the Tupac murder case going. Wow.
SPEAKER_02What y'all think about that? I I think too bad it takes long because it seems like listening to them talk, you're gonna have stuff that was bass that y'all knew way back then. So how why are you just why is something just starting right now?
SPEAKER_01Man.
SPEAKER_0230 years later. 30 years later.
SPEAKER_01And you listen to them guys, man, talk. They old now, they older. And when they was uh playing some of their stuff back, man, them dudes was telling on themselves. Yeah, because the one dude I seen, Keep D was like, when he got um first the police first came, he was like, What you talking about? We ain't do nothing big, but you want to talk about that Pac stuff? I was like, damn, he told like that. Yeah, you know, so I think it's a sad thing, man. You know, Pac rest in peace, rest his soul, man. And you know, it's sad that I always say sad, him and Biggie, they both left before they time, but it's a mockery watching some of that stuff going on right now. So there you go.
SPEAKER_03Hey, uh Chad and everybody, listen. I am sorry. Yo, the devil is a lie. See, let me let me tell you something. They he's trying to mess with me, but my my bad, y'all. I'm I'm gonna get it together.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, you good. Then when I saw them pictures of man, autop fox uh pictures of Fogman, I was like, Man, that was man. You see him they showed auto stick pictures, man. Like, yeah, that kind of told you messed me up, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah. Yeah, from that time, man. I love did you see uh mob James uh when they caught him up? Yep, hey, he was he was as real as could be, man. He was real as could be no, they they rival the rival gangs like now. I don't I ain't trying to send this dude to jail, and I didn't like I said, I didn't really understand the gang situation in um LA because I went to I got a cuz all my mama brothers moved to LA, so I was out there, man, and I we went down there, we went to the compton swap meet, and uh I got a Bulls practice jersey. We was all about to go to the movies, man. And uh ma'am, I walked outside, all my cousins stopped and and looked. They said, because it's it's a crypt neighborhood, cuz you can't you can't wear that. He said, Don't worry about it, I'll explain it later. You know what I'm saying? Yeah, so I don't know, man, but just like all this time later, but Keefe was talking doing interviews, yeah. Shut the hell up, right?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, he told on himself, though. Yeah, you know, basically told on himself. Then the day I heard him talk about, yeah, Puffy was supposed to give me some money, yeah, and he ain't pay me, but the dude that he was supposed to pay died. So what you gonna do, bro? Absolutely, yeah, that's gonna be sad, man. Go on and lock all them fools up, do what they gotta do, man. You know, I'm hearing I heard Snoop Uncle or something in their name today. I'm like, damn. Oh, shut up, yeah. They was just throwing people under the bus today.
SPEAKER_03Damn, I ain't I ain't checked up today. Damn, yeah.
SPEAKER_01I'll be I'll be getting on YouTube checking out the hotlights of it, yeah, you know, trying to stay up with it, man.
SPEAKER_03You know, police in their line. It's it's crazy, man. But they was they was having so much money, man. No matter what, man, you gotta protect the golden goose. And it's like, I'd be like, man, Pac ain't involved in none of this, but I think Pac really wanted to show those blood that he really was down with them, man. You know what I'm saying? And but but yet thug life crews ought to catch Crips, yeah. And then is niggas too, you know what I'm saying? So it's yeah, he liked to probably the picture child of bipolar, yeah, yeah. That's why I love him, which like most of us are. He just put it out for the world to see. All of us got multiple multiple sides to us, you know.
SPEAKER_01Exactly, you know, because the wind blow, I'm I'm happy as hell. That motherfucker blow back in my face. Yeah, but uh I just blame it on PTSD in the military. Oh, yeah. For real. Yeah, man. So, y'all, we've been we've been doing this show, but yay, this something, man. We we got this crazy thing, bro, that just happened, man. Let me see. Oh, breaking news. We got some breaking news, y'all. Yeah, let's see what this news is, man. Damn, police pulling us over, y'all. Let's check this out real quick.
SPEAKER_02Hi guys, I'm Jody from 3D Highway Podcast. And if you watch Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Podcast, you know we talk about Lampgate at length. Through a private investigator, I finally tracked down June Bug the Lamp. Now, his appearance has been changed, and he's also been in Whitney Protection over the years, not to be found out. This interview is brought to you by Marshall Media, Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Podcast, Morton the Coach Podcast, their Southern ABA podcast, and three the Highway podcast. Now, June Bug, as an active participant in Lampgate, tell us your story. Uh-uh. First of all, I was not an active participant. I was thrown into this web like Leno Brown. I didn't choose this life. I wasn't meant to be a weapon of mass destruction. She used me as that. Okay, Jillian Bug, I apologize. But can you please tell us what happened? Well, uh-uh, first of all, it was a normal Saturday night like normal. Uh Kevin was there, Jody was there, D was there, then Andre was there, and Vaughn was there. So everything was going smooth. Then all of a sudden, I seen four young ladies walking in the house. I said, uh oh, if one more come in, he'll be in trouble because that mean it's going for Kevin. So I started to tell him, Kevin, you know Jody don't want them ladies in this house like she's gone, but I'm minding my business. First one of them rubber than me on the way in the house. And I'm starting to feel another tingling started, and my wife is starting to. But that's another story. So here we go now. So they ended up having fun, drinking, playing, come on, this nigga, I see a light in the driveway. And I know Jolia is gone with the flint with her family. So I'm looking at this, I'm still coming. So uh-uh-uh-uh, I flashed my lights a couple times, and they in there drunk looking stupid, and nobody paying attention. So I flashed them again. They didn't do nothing. So I needed the key opening up the door. So I'm uh gently sliding into the corner because I'm a man of my business, I'm the mom no part of this. So Jodh comes in, she looks around, she sees all the girls in the house, and she says, Kevin, come in on me. So uh Kevin came in and she says, Kevin, what are all these girls in my house when I'm not home? So uh uh Kevin, he gets bad. This is my house. I do what I want to do too. You know just live in it. So all of a sudden, Jodie, she's screaming like this. Next thing I know, she's grabbing me. She grabbed me so hard. She was cooking my neck. So she was just swinging the lamb. And next thing I know, none of it might not happen as niggas like this, but uh, this is what I remember. So I remember Jodie doing black flips to come up to the living room and he grabbed the lemon caught it just as she's about to punch him in the head. So while this going on, all the girls started running out the door. So I took this is my opportunity to exit. So I slowly bagges and ran in out the door with the rest of them. And I've been in witness protection since then. Okay, Jumba, we appreciate your interview. So, guys, part two is coming up. So stay tuned to more than the podcast, more than the coach podcast or through the highway podcast, and we'll be airing number two pretty soon. Thanks, guys, appreciate it.
SPEAKER_01Oh my goodness.
SPEAKER_03Um uh Kevin, may I may I say something? Yes, you can. Um you know what? That wasn't ignorant. That was it, that was ignorant. The level of ignorance that that was hold on, wait, wait a minute. I mean, all angles. First of all, to have the lamp shade blurred is ridiculous. You know what? This is what I'm trying to tell you. So now we we said 88 freakish, gangsters, and complete lunacy now. That is ignorant, and see, and what and people, I know y'all like what's going on. Listen, you watch the Mr. and Mrs. Podcast, it's several references to that lamp because Kevin was on some BS and Jody was with him. Yeah, I was, but hey man, we we had to get a good laugh out of it.
SPEAKER_01And when he sent it to me, and when I was trying to edit it, bro, I was crying laughing so hard, and I was trying to keep Jody from listening to it because I ain't wanted to hear it. And I'm hearing her over on the other side talk about oh no, I need to come on there and tell the real story. No, no, she can't she can't come on this because her story's not gonna be accurate. No, her story is gonna be falsified.
SPEAKER_03I don't want my wife to co-sign.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that's right. Yeah, we can't we can't do it with that part, man. But yeah, that that lamb story, man. It's it's a life of his own for real. Oh, yeah, absolutely. That's that's that's a real stuff, man. That that was funny there, though. Did Joy F still didn't see it yet? Oh, she just heard it. She was sitting up there talking junk. Oh, she said she just said she gotta come over there and tell the real story. She got that face that that look, yeah. Yeah, you know that look, yeah. It's a partition, so I can't even see, but I'm pretty sure she's looking through that right now. Yeah, I think I think I'm gonna get a t-shirt with that look on it and just put it. Oh yeah, yeah, it's like hockey. I'm seeing it now. Let's see the look, Joy. Yeah, I hear about it on the way to the crib. Yeah, absolutely. That was funny though, y'all. Well, man, this is what we do, man, on the show. We're gonna we're gonna have some fun. We're gonna talk some real stuff, and we just gonna be, you know, ourselves. Yeah, so tonight, man, we gotta we got a real subject that you know it brought up, which was pretty cool, man, on tonight's topic, y'all. Um, and tonight's topic, y'all, is is uh men dealing with grief the grief of loved ones. Sorry if I ain't spelled something right, y'all. Sometime I'll be up at three o'clock in the morning. You know, and it's we all been through it. You know, I I could put this out here so you know we see. And you know, and I know both of y'all lost uh both parents, you know what I'm saying? Yeah, I'm still dealing with still dealing with the grief of mine, man. And I don't know. I'm gonna let you start this subject off for us tonight, bro.
SPEAKER_02I think um a lot of times, men, we deal with it in different ways. I think we try to be strong favor around us that we don't get a chance to really grieve, and you got to do it to get get through the process. Like for me, I really didn't get a good cry, man. My mother died in 2012, August, uh, been almost a little bit over year, uh, over uh 12 years the August um, no, 14 years, the August 7th, 2012. And I really didn't get a good cry, man. Really break down to about a year ago. It's crazy, like during the time when I was going on, and I was you know, in there doing a lot of the planning and everything at the funeral and being in and out of the funeral home. So I was you know, more or less trying to be strong for everybody, you know, saying around me, being the only two males in our you know, family with all women, just me and my brother Bill. So trying to you know be that constant presence, that strong person, and and you know, when at the same time you you really hurting inside and breaking down because anybody know me, know that like Kev, you said all the time, all your good friends is mother boys, and you was you know, close with your father. And that's I truly was. My mother was everything to me, man. So it's kind of so yeah, that really and it was hard because it took a long time before I can even think about or anything without crying. You know, now it's you know it's different. I finally come to a place where I can, you know, laugh, smile, and think about good times instead of break it down. Because in the past, I didn't know you could have that picture up there. You got me, but if I uh in the past, that picture would have would have got me. I'd have broken down, you know what I'm saying? Because she she loves her boys, that's why good center with them. Them girls are all right, but her boys, that's that's something different. That was her heart. So yeah, man. So it yeah, it just you know, men deal with things differently. We we don't sure we deal with it more internally than we do on the outside, like women do. So I think we gotta come to a place where we really can express things, let it go. Because if you just keep it inside, it's gonna tear you up, it's gonna explode in an unhealthy way. Luckily, that you know said never happened to me because you know, but I finally was able to process, like I said, about a year ago or so.
SPEAKER_01Dang, yeah. Well, you already know always got you more prayers, man. Oh, yeah, sure. What about you, yeah?
SPEAKER_03Man, even though I knew I knew it was gonna disgust it. This messed me up because it's it's crazy. Because just last night, I said I'm going through my move with I'm going through old stuff. I found a letter from my mother and my father when I was in school. I don't know how I was crying last night. Last night. And then when you think about, like I said, I'm and I was going through stuff. I have a picture, man, and my brother Orlando at his graduation, and it's my mother, father, and my little sister and Orlando. Why I'm not in that picture, I don't know. Oh wow, I probably run around doing whatever. And when I saw it, I said, I said, all of them are gone. Yeah. Wow. And that why I'm not in that picture, I still do not know. But I'm like, so, and like you said, it we we deal with it differently. You said you just cried. I remember when my mother died, Ohana didn't cry, man. And I remember like a couple years later, he just broke down. And I'm I'm thinking he must in love, mommy. You know what I'm saying? But everybody grieved differently, man. You know what I'm saying? So, and I think as as men, we're held to a standard to make sure everybody's good. And that's that's what we do. We take that on, you know, like you know, like a champ, but we don't take the time to realize that we're hurting because we can't be hurt now because we got to do this. I can't be hurting now because I gotta do that. But I think that's when people snap and lose it because when you grieve, it can come out at any time. Yeah, you don't want to be in a situation of serious and it come out. You could be at a job interview and you look over at the desk and they got a flower that your mother liked. Yeah, and you can lose it there. So I I think it's very, very important, man, for us to find someone to talk to. It's nothing wrong with going to see someone and talk about it, which I never believed in that, but yeah, it's it's real, it's real, Kev.
SPEAKER_01And you know, my situation, I you know, I lost my pops. I was very close with him, you know. I I was a daddy boy, hands down. And man, what last week, two weeks now? Uh yeah, it's been two weeks. Yeah, for the wedding, yeah. And you know, and like you said, I've been trying to have my moments, but I had my moments elsewhere. Yeah, I never forget y'all. I walked in. I something kept telling me not to go see my baby, you know, before the wedding. Okay. And then my wife was like, come on, she wants to see you. So I walked in and she was sitting there, bro. And all I seen was this glow on her. I heard something say, She's beautiful. Man, I already know because it was that voice. Yeah, you know, and I heard his voice, and man, it I cried like the rain was falling. I couldn't stop, man. It was it was just like because that was a thing that I wish he was there to see her. Yeah, but he let me know he was there. Yeah, you know, and plus I try, I'm glad I got my crying out the way before all the fellas seen me, because it would give me a hard time. I still deal with it a lot, man. I think that's why my sleep all messed up. You know what I'm saying? Because it's something every night wake me up, and it's always something I hear him say to me. Yeah, you know, like the other day, your car dirty, boy. Got up and washed it, you know. But it's just, you know, it's it's it's hard though, you know. And like you said, as men, yeah, you put it right there, man. We gotta be the strong one. We try to hide all that pain, but and it's hard, you know, sometimes it's hard.
SPEAKER_02The most special moment I saw when he was at the game, and you had I don't know if you had just one district or whatever it was your when your followers that man, he's hugging you, holding you at me. I was like, Man, that was one of the most important things.
SPEAKER_03I was just thinking about this moments, man. That picture, I I saw that man.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, man.
SPEAKER_03That I mean, yes, that had to be like that. Yes, uh man. And to see you in that in that moment, I I felt it in. When I because the first time I saw it, I cried then. My boss went to when I went coaching the came down and went to the thing to the bank. I thought about that. I said, man, to see yeah, I I understood what that moment meant. I understand what you felt, man. So yeah, that's that's ironic. I'm I'm glad that you picked that up. Yeah, and the reason why you picked that up for your love for Kevin, though.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, you know, because I was at that game too, so yeah, yeah, man. I was like, man, yeah.
SPEAKER_01And you know what was ironic about that, uh that was the first time Bridgeport beat Frankin move in years and districts. You know, wow. We went on and went to the uh final, we went to quarterfinals before we got beat, but that was the last time he got to see me coach in person.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, oh Lord have mercy. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I did everything, you know, and start dealing with what he was going through. Absolutely. You know, in all that process, I told told my mom and them I didn't want to see him never take his last breath. And I was at practice, and they said he woke up that day and all he said was put my bridge for shirt on. When I got there, oh man. You know, when he passed, he had that shirt on. And my mom and my aunt said he wanted this shirt on. Wow. I never forget. I got out that car at 6:30. By the time I walked to the door, he passed away at 632. So he knew that I never wanted to see him take the last breath. But he knew I was there and he let go.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_01So that's why the 632 always means something to me. You know what I'm saying? Because that's the day, the time that I remember. You know that.
SPEAKER_02Well, and I can remember, I was in there when my mother took her last breath. I remember hugging her and telling her, it's okay. Go ahead, be at peace. I got everybody. You know, go ahead. You don't have to worry about that, but I'll make sure everybody's all right. Man, that's great.
SPEAKER_03Hey, same, same hit. Same here. I was right there. I looked in her face when she took her her last breath. My mom. You know what I'm saying? And it's something like, and it's funny how how God worked. Because at that point, you're saying I cannot go on. But the power. We're here now. And it's like sometimes sometimes I feel like guilty. But then I look at it, it's still more stuff God wants me to do. Yeah. That I'm still slipping on. Because I I truly believe God talked to me differently. People talking about that. I think God talked to me like, nigga, you need to get together. Right, exactly. I'm serious. I I really, because he knows I'm ignorant.
SPEAKER_02Right, yeah.
SPEAKER_03So he knows I'm ignorant.
SPEAKER_02You know what I mean? So in a way you understand, where you can have that relationship back and forth with him, but you understand, yeah.
SPEAKER_03You know you. Yeah, what? Hey, you better start, Kevin. You better stop. What you're not gonna do is have me crown on this piece. What that's what you're not gonna do.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, no, we'll be good. I walk around my mother's drive lines in my wallet right now. Every day I got a drive line in my wallet, it's with me every day. Yeah, yeah, sir.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that's all right, man. And it and it's go back to though, y'all. It's a it's a sign that how they raised us, what they do and all of us, you know. Like, yeah, I I can't even fathom what you go through, like you said, that picture, and your brother was the funniest dude ever. He was said the entertainer before said the entertainment, yeah. You know what I'm saying? I know I love Lando, man. Yeah, man. We had him on the grill at one of our back of school party uh picnics. The whole Universal Park just crying, man. Had that big old top hat on and everything, yeah.
SPEAKER_02It was the chef, that was just saying, yeah, and you know, that's why, like, man, Danye, Lando, all the people in the hood, man, they're my brothers, man. We didn't see each other for a long time. That's how we grew up around our neighborhood, man.
SPEAKER_01Yes, yes, uh, man. That's why my wife don't understand that BV thing is a fan.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, and that's what's missing, man. That yeah, that is missing, man. It's like even if I if I was going down to Reggie Dixon's house, going on Western, I had to pass your house. Yeah, you know, you know, and yeah, and I'm gonna say it again. Somebody was always there, yeah. And listen, I'm like, who is that sister on that swim? Yeah, I'm like, yeah, so it's just like when you think back to memories, man, and like even look back now, it ain't that far, but riding the clay too was like a real mission, yeah. Yeah, going over there, man. But it was it was still even rival, it still was love, though. You know, nobody was getting messed up, you know.
SPEAKER_01I mean, yeah, I think it was just sometimes when you went over Bronco Way on that other side by little seasons. You had to watch yourself over there, yeah. Oh, there you go, and you know, but everywhere else you can really go. You ain't seen nobody out in Kelso neighborhood, yeah. But they used to be in our neighborhood, so you know it was all family, man.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, all around there on Michelle over there with y'all, and all the all around me. Yeah, they played me. Yeah, it was it was all family, man. It was, and they don't have that now, man.
SPEAKER_03At all, and just real quick, you just said Kelso, left the record straight. They had clown town, it wasn't touching the big top fool. Oh no, all the big top is that deal, man.
SPEAKER_01The big top used to have them big uh people.
SPEAKER_02I think about that cake walk now, still, but that big yeah, yeah. I used to know they had a pop walk too, they had a pop walk, yeah, yeah, absolutely.
SPEAKER_01And when I couldn't win them, I'd take one and run again.
SPEAKER_03You hear me records a lot eighty eight, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Oh, trust me, I know, you know, but that's why I stay hard with my kids. I was like, you will not be like your father in school, yeah. Come on, man.
SPEAKER_02But I gotta tell you one thing, yeah. Man, through every dark moment, man, what it was in my life, every dark moment, that guy right there was right by my side, man. Right with me, holding me up every moment, whatever it was. I always count on him to be there. Him and his family was there, always, no matter what.
SPEAKER_04Sure.
SPEAKER_03It was what's crazy about that is even he keeps you when you don't even know you need to be kept. Yeah, yeah. You know, I mean, it's like listen, hey, I'm I'm I'm sorry, I'm I'm on one right now, man. Check it out. I've been driving on a suspended license for two years, yeah, and didn't even know it. Yeah, didn't even know it. Man, I went to renew my uh license on my birthday. This girl was looking crazy. I said, What my life's suspended? They're like, Well, you didn't go to court. I said, Court where? So have you had a ticket into my town? I got a ticket in Arkansas a couple years ago, but I paid it, but they didn't send the paperwork to Illinois. Yeah, and so what I'm talking about, got man, listen, I've been driving for two years. I've been to Arkansas a couple more times. I've been to Michigan, and every time I wasn't totally clean in my car. Now, now I ain't saying I had no no no birds or nothing like that, but what I'm saying, yeah, but still, but even then, God again, let me keep this ignorant fool here.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, that's right, because one little traffic stop, man, could have you know could have terribly bad in a lot of different ways. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Man of 24. Man 24 life was suspended, man. And I I got it straight last week.
SPEAKER_01Oh wow, wow, oh yeah, that oh no, that was stressful on yourself for you. Damn. When I first heard it, because I I didn't even know.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, and I'm I'm ready to argue, and then it was a white woman talking to me saying that that didn't help. So um yeah, I'm I'm still I'm still working on that, but uh working on his all, man.
SPEAKER_01I I try to stop cussing, but you know, it's hard to do. You know, I I I throw that Steve Harvey up in a minute, he's still working on me. Yeah, you know, yeah. That's cool, man. Well, yeah, I think once again, y'all, I think we we done it again. Episode two. Yes, uh knocked it out the park. Yeah, you know. I know people been hitting us up when we're gonna go live, so we'll we'll talk about that next month. Yeah, let me know, bro. I I'll come up there. We'll do a live one. Oh, we ain't gonna. If you can't be home, we do it on live on here. We ain't gonna pre-record, you know.
SPEAKER_03Oh, I thought you meant like in in person, which we still gonna go do. Yeah, we still do that.
SPEAKER_01That's gonna really be ignorant, you know what I'm saying? Oh, yeah, that's gonna really be ignorant, folks. Get in here and come to Marshall Studio and we just kick it, you know. Oh, yeah, yeah. For real, yes, sir. Yes, sir. Any last words before we get out of here from my brothers? Words of encouragement or anything, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Just if any man dealing with what we said, you know what I'm saying, dealing with that grief, you know what I'm saying? Talk to somebody, don't hold it in. You know, don't you always gotta be strong. Um, sometimes crying is strength, it ain't a weakness, you know, for a man to cry. Sometimes how you release that pressure. So don't be afraid to do so. Go ahead and you know, let it out, let yourself heal.
SPEAKER_01I like that.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, absolutely. And don't even think about it, because you know, in our community, we always go see somebody. And I'm saying that and you and and check, we have our insurance, you know. We think about somebody getting sick. A lot your insurance cover cover that a lot of time. Check your insurance, and sometimes you need just to talk to somebody, and a lot of times they're not gonna say they want just to get it out, and they sold those things, and I'm I'm saying that I'm saying that because I have talked to somebody. Oh, yeah, I have too. I think you know, you know what I mean? And I never I never thought, and because I never took depression seriously. I ain't gonna lie, I didn't until 10 years ago when two of the best players I've ever coached, when I had to go to a facility and see them. And these are two strong cats. I I mean, yeah, I said, so I started taking it seriously. Then I said, I'm doing all this stuff. And like I said, I was having some depression issues, but to me, and I look back now, it was depression, but it really in my mind it wasn't. It's it's powerful, of course. I still got to do this. So I kind of ignored it, but it was affecting other parts of my life, and I didn't realize, you know what I mean? So ain't along with it, ain't you ain't weak enough? Because I'm telling you something, ain't nothing weak about me at all. Nothing. You feel me? If you don't believe it, then try me. But that's whatever that's that's something. But no, but no, but seriously, though, we have to get out there and because we have to sometimes rebel that and uh and and say, Well, I'm I'm a crit, yeah, you can be with God. God placed people in place to help you, right? You know what I'm saying? And I'm I'm always gonna go to him first. Cause I went to him first if I saw somebody, so ain't nothing wrong with it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, ain't nothing wrong with it. And I and I want to just say, I'm gonna give a shout out to a young man. I seen uh my cousin here, superintendent. Um, well, he back here working, Desmond Daniels. And he told me something today, man, that just made me. I raised my chest and my shoulders came out a little wider. He said he was at a meeting and the mom he met, said that her son was 25 years old and he played for me. He couldn't know he didn't know the kid's name. But she said, you know, he hadn't been dealing with his pops or whatever. And said, uh my son swear by this man named Coach Marshall. To this day, he said Coach Marshall was the best coach and father figure he ever had. So he's gonna find out who he is, because I gotta reach out to that young man, because he don't even understand, even though I'm out doing my thing, I'm still going through it. But to hear that man, yeah, it's like wow. So whoever that young man is, man, I appreciate it. I'm glad. All it takes is one. If we can reach one, we did our job. We want to help many more. But hey, that that made my day today.
SPEAKER_02Like I told you back then, man. You you you know saying you changing lives. Young men that didn't have fathers around, you being their father to figure that voice for them, and you know, you're teaching them something about life beyond basketball. So they listen. I told you back then that was your calling, man. You blessing, you know, saying young men with your gift.
