Day 4- Ephesians 1:3-14

Awesome. Great day. Today we're going to go into Ephesians. First, Ephesians 3 through 14. And amen. We're also going to just highlight the prayer focus of um praying for business. So we'll incorporate that into this teaching aspect today. So in the most loving and purest sense, we're gonna break uh Ephesians down by scripture and um amen. So Ephesians 1 3 is where Jesus is identifying where we are blessed in Christ. All right, he has blessed us with every spiritual blessing. Um that word in itself from the Greek is eulogia. I messed up some of the words, but in the Greek, look it up. Eulogia, uh blessed, blessings. It means blessings, it means favor, it means God's divine benefit, God's spoken goodness. Here um in the text, Paul says believers have already been blessed. So when we think about receiving blessings, God has done his part. You have already been blessed. This does not mean we possess every earthly comfort, right? So God never said everything will be comfortable. Some people say, Hey, I want to be comfortable. That's not what he said. He said, but every spiritual resource necessary to live a godly life is available unto you. All right, so as we're going through um the full context of that scripture, bless blessed be to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ. Keyword in Christ. So every spiritual blessing is found in him. Ultimately, here in Ephesians 1, 3 through 14, we have our identity in Christ, our inheritance in Christ, and authority in Christ that's given to us. And overall, um, as we keep going down, um, Paul opens up Ephesians here um very richly, and this is uh scripture focused in the New Testament. Um, overall is not just there's also a deep adoration of praise. So as we're going through the word today, just thanking God of the blessings that we have. Paul is not asking for blessings in this text, he's declaring what believers already possess because of Jesus. So, once again, as we're going through, we're gonna find opportunities to just praise God and say thank you. All right, and so as well, kind of going on into Ephesians 4, um, one of the key phrases here is he chose us. So you were chosen before the foundation of the world, chosen, fearfully and wonderfully made. He knows who you are, all right. In the aspect of the Greek, that word chose um is to select for a purpose or to appoint. All right, if you do any type of business to be in a to to first get to any level of appointment in whatever lane of business, you first have to, let's just say, qualify, meet some type of requirement, and then send out information to notify to whomever said company that you are ready and positioned for business. In the same sense, God chose believers in Christ before creation, not because of our merit, but according to his purpose, his grace and his purpose, excuse me, his purpose and his grace. So you're positioned in Christ. Our calling is rooted in God's eternal plan, not our past performance. So just understand that there is uh what they say, you can't be God giving, but ultimately, God has your whole life in mind. So even though you're experiencing it day by day, amen, he holds everything in the palm of his hand. God has an eternal plan. So um going on down into Ephesians 5 in honor of time, you are adopted as sons and daughters. What does that mean? So think about the aspect of adoption in this form. The meaning adoption is a legal, in the Greek, is more so emphasising, emphasizing a legal placement as a son or a daughter. We were talking about positioning before. Think about placement as a little bit different. Think about placement that you could do something, but you want to see it into fruition. Full inheritance rights is a little bit more emphasis on that Greek word. So in the Roman culture, an adopted child received the same legal rights as a natural born heir. In Christ, you are not merely forgiven, you are welcomed into the family of God and given full inheritance rights. So, amen. You have access, you have a full inheritance, and so let's just say in Christ, we're giving from our inheritance, we're tapping into our inheritance again. This is not merely about you just being forgiven, but you receiving that you're welcome. Um ultimately we are also just redeemed by the blood. One of my favorites, and in the Greek Lord, the redemption, it's also um means to release through payment. There was a cost, so freedom purchase. So Jesus paid the full price to free us from sin, paid in full, completed, no debt. So when we think about anything that is not freedom, you have to be reminded it does not belong to you. The price has already been paid. We speak the word in expectation because we know the what the finished work of Jesus has already performed in our lives, in our lives, we have to stand on, as my sister says, business, speak the word of God, move in faith and expectation with the understanding not only to see the manifestation of what God has already blessed us with, but as well operating our faith in a circumstances we can't naturally see, trusting that God's word is final. Your freedom was purchased by the blood of Christ. You are you no longer belong to sin. No longer belong to sin. You belong to Jesus. Amen. What a friend we have in it, and how grateful it is that we're not measured by sin in no way. It is already, sin is already handled, and God freely gives us ability. If we happen to trip up, like there's already a plan in place, all right, that we can confess our sins to one another, we may be healed. We can go to John, uh, we can go in John and freely ask for forgiveness, and and God keeps no record of it. So whenever we may even think of the possibility of getting hung up on what was not done right, we also can quickly just say, Man, I can go straight to my father and ask him for forgiveness in that area, mean it from the bottom of my heart. He keeps no record of it, and he he does not want me to keep record of it either. If I'm honest, family, a lot of times we keep the record of our sin, and that's a trick of the enemy that tries to keep tripping us up. If we're even looking at love in the truest form, it love in Corinthians dissertates love keeps no record of wrongdoing. So remember when God tells us to love ourselves in his image, right? Love ourselves that we could be filled with his love, and then allowing that love to overflow into others, you have to remember how he what he says love looks like. And it allows you to be able to accelerate in the things of God. Going down into Ephesians 9 and 10 as we're closing here, excuse me, God's mysteries are revealed, right? There is a divine truth that was once hidden, but now revealed. The mystery is that God's eternal plan is fulfilled in Christ, bringing all things together under his lordship. All right, we have an inheritance, and in the aspect of inheritance, um amplifying in the Greek word, um, to receive an inheritance is also to be appointed an heir. Okay, we understand kingship and um, let's just say um operating in a royal family. You know, you just can't be the king or queen, even just naturally, in the order of just a king or queen. Let's just say there's multiple uh family members to come. You are also appointed in there. We talked about that a bit more before. So believers are heirs to the kingdom of God. We don't just work for our inheritance, we receive it. So someone can tell you, or you less you could be appointed king, appointed queen as this royal priesthood, but you also have to receive your kingship or queenship through Christ, amen. And choose to operate in your inheritance. Ultimately, um, in closing, as far as in reference in scripture, we are sealed by the Holy Spirit, uh, more so reverse in chat uh verses 13 and 14. Um, and what we think of sealed in the Greek, that is to authenticate and to mark with ownership. Um, we spoke about before having got uh the price being paid through Christ, there was a down payment put in place. That down payment provided a guarantee, what it also provided a first installment. Now, the Holy Spirit God uh God's seal upon believers and the guarantee that his promise will be fulfilled. So it's a guarantee. I'm looking for in life the guarantees. There's not many out here, but again, what the finished work of Jesus gives to us a guarantee about our expected end, which is victory. The Holy Spirit is evidence that you belong to God and assurance that your eternal inheritance is secure. All right, so as we're getting ready to go in prayer, just reflecting on praying for business, we want to just focus on seven um particular uh ways of praying. Just pray for God's purpose over profit. Um, even again, knowing that God has chosen us to live a life holy and blameless before Him. That number two, praying for wisdom for our leaders. Um, that of course, if we lack wisdom, he freely gives us, praying for integrity for our businesses, praying for God's divine favor over our businesses, praying for provision and generosity, and um, praying for protection, and even there, no weapon formed against us shall prosper. And lastly, praying that Christ be glorified. We all have a beautiful opportunity to collaborate as the body of Christ, declaring over our businesses, utilizing the word um and calling forth God's glory here on heaven, on earth as it is in heaven, this being our heavenly experience here on earth.
