Optimize This is everyday philosophy for burnt-out eldest daughters.
After years of optimizing everything — her schedule, her skincare, her marriage, her mood — one exhausted, overworked elder-millennial woman realized that no new hack was ever going to fix what was actually wrong. So she's spending the next 100 weeks doing the opposite: taking one real, messy moment from her own overloaded life each Friday and finding the philosopher — classic or modern — who already thought it through.
No hustle. No 5-step frameworks. No new routine to abandon by February. Just smart, honest, occasionally profane conversations about what it actually means to be a woman doing everything right and still feeling like you're failing at all of it.

What happens when you realize the productivity hack, the workout plan, and the eleven-step skincare routine were never going to fix the actual problem? This is the trailer for Optimize This — a new podcast bringing philosophy to the real, unglamorous life of a burnt-out millennial woman, one Friday at a time, for 100 weeks. Here's what's coming, and why it exists.

We've tried every face cream, every new scheme, every efficiency, heck. We're not more productive or beautiful. We're just tired. Optimize this. Yeah, that's my middle finger right there.

I have tried to fix a lot of things about myself. A new productivity system, a workout routine that promised to fix my mood and not just my body. A skincare regime with 11 steps. Neurotoxins to the gills. A communication framework that would not only improve my marriage but almost eliminate conflict. Or make us have conflict in a more healthy way so that our kids turned out better. A time-blocking method, a morning routine, a new way of eating, a new way of breathing, a new way of sleeping, optimized, tracked, tweaked, improved. And then sometime around 11 p.m. on a random Tuesday while I was folding my daughter's outgrown clothes into a donation bag after a 16-hour workday, I realized something that felt less like an insight and more like a bit of a gut punch. Absolutely none of this was going to make me feel less burnt the f out. Not a new hack, not a new app, not a new procedure, not any more new injections into my face, because I wasn't broken in a way that any system or any viable thing could fix. I was exhausted in a way that only truth could touch. So I'm doing something slightly insane. I have decided to spend the next hundred weeks doing the opposite of optimizing. I'm going looking not for any more life hacks, but for the people who spent their entire lives actually thinking about how to live better. Philosophers. Old ones, new ones, famous ones, and ones that you've never heard of who just happened to say the one thing I needed to hear that week. Welcome to Optimize This. It's everyday philosophy for the burnt-out eldest daughters in us all. Every Friday for the next hundred weeks, I'm gonna take one real, messy, unglamorous moment from my actual life, the kind that you're probably also living right now, and I'm gonna go find a philosophical idea that meets it head on. No hustle and no hacks, no new routine to fail at by February. This is not a self-help show. It is a self-truth show. And I am doing it because I need it. It's for my own survival, and because I know I am not the only exhausted elder millennial woman doing everything for everyone right now and still feeling like she's failing at it. So if you're tired in this very specific way as a smart, capable, stretched toothin woman, and you're tired of trying to fix yourself, this show is for you and me both. New episodes released every Friday for a hundred weeks. Let's all stop optimizing and just start thinking.
