Hello guys and welcome to the first episode of Esports Weekly. Today we'll be talking about the Esports World Cup and all the dramas that happened during it, including Valorant's Fear Drop, a mystery player being kicked out, and some of EAFC27's updates. I'm D. Sakuntov, hoping to bring you the best first episode, starting off with Dota 2's Dark Mago and his coach Vintage being kicked out of the Esports World Cup, just hours before playing Vichy Gaming for allegedly breaking Dota 2's anti-corruption code. Nobody could find a substitute team to play Vici Gaming, which means that Dark Mago was sacked $2 million and Vici got a free win by abandonments. Also, Dota 2's average price pool dropped by $25,000 weeks before a Blast Slam, which means that the price pool is now $750,000. Players also say that Dota 2 scene has been going pretty still with the same teams and players competing all the time. Also, Blast, which is hosting a Blast Slam, PGL and ECL, each try to differentiate their own events, but feel very much the same. Tier 1 Pro competitions also feel very repetitive. Now switching over to FC27 new minor updates. I'll do a full podcast and all the updates later. So just wait until Sunday and I'll have all the updates. Over the years, EA Sports FC25 had some major issues, getting lots of lots of hate. The one player stood out during this hectic year. This player is Peace Madison. He has lots of potential but didn't show until the FC Pro 25 World Championships, where he got second place. Also, with the arrival of FC26, EA decided to remove time finish, which has improved the consistency of finishing shots. It still wasn't perfect with lots of complaints, but the game was still playable. Now with FC 27 coming out later this year, here are some changes brought to the game. But first, we need to acknowledge the fact that EA Sports was brought privately by Saudi Public Investment Fund, Affinity Affinity Partners and Silver Lake for a combined total of $55.1 million, 93.4% going to Saudi Public Investment Fund, 5.5% going to affinity partners, and what and 1.1% going to Silver Lake Partners. Now, for FC27 changes, the first change is that players will not be able to pass and then follow the pass, which makes it look more like a real game happening in real life. Which makes defending so much more consistent and just more control. Another change is that EA decided to bring in more AA controls that helps maintain a more real-life positioning and feel to the game. Finally, there are some here's the most awaited topics of this podcast. Valorant's view decline. Valorant has gone down by 45% peak views and 13% decline in total hours watched in the esports world cup. Many people think that Valorant is a dead game, but then again, Fortnite was down by 1.1 million players since 2023. And now they are breaking player count records. The main reason for the all-time low is Ledger is not even coming up to pairs for the Esports World Cup. Players such as Sentinels, Gen G, and Fnatic could not make it. Even popular teams at this show decided to just leave early or pretty much lowered the views by almost 15%. Lastly, Paper Rex, Cardman Corp, Team Heratics, and Team Gentlemates all got out early, which made the view decline by 50%. But it by putting pretty much all the Pacific region, EU and the EU regions, watches out of view cam. This dropped our view camp by a mere 5%, which doesn't seem like a lot.
