This week, Jonathon Shafi and Craig Dalzell discuss the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on global trade and globalisation. The virus has exposed the fragility of global trade and supply lines with various countries scrabbling for limited supplies of vital medical equipment with some like the USA outright diverting goods bound for other countries to themselves. Jonathon and Craig discuss how Scotland could look towards the future and rebuild the Scottish economy to avoid future shocks when emergencies happen and the trade panic sets in.

You can read Common Weal's latest policy paper on a strategy to get Scotland out of lockdown here.

Apologies for the drop in sound quality in this episode. This is due to the technical limitations imposed by the current UK lockdown.
