Sermon: The Faith that Cries Out

What do you do when you cry out to God and heaven seems silent?

In this sermon on Matthew 15:21–28, we meet a Canaanite mother pleading for her demon-oppressed daughter — met at first with silence, and then a hard word, from Jesus Himself. Her story confronts a truth every person must face: none of us are born with a natural claim on God's mercy. We come empty-handed, in need of grace, not because of birth, nationality, or good works, but because Christ Himself throws open the door.

This message traces her desperate, persistent faith — a faith that would not let go, even when the answer seemed to be no — and shows how that faith belongs to us today. We'll see how the Kingdom of Heaven welcomes outsiders, how redemption and forgiveness flow from Christ's cross, and how salvation is a free gift received by faith alone. We'll also see how Christ still feeds His Church in the Lord's Supper, giving His true Body and Blood for our forgiveness.
