Lets Run Facebook Ads: The Podcast

Why You SHOULDN'T Listen to Meta's Ad Advice

Nick Boddington Season 1 Episode 163

In today's episode, Nick discusses one of the biggest pains when it comes to Meta advertising: calls from Meta. While you may get recommendations in Ads Manager or even from representatives calling you, their advice might not always be the right thing for your business. He outlines why this is and what advice you should be following, including his own Skool community where you can learn how to build and optimise your ads for free.

Hello and welcome back to another podcast myself, Nick Boddington. Let's run Facebook. How's the podcast? Funny when I said that a little bit awkward. So now I want to talk about something I've heard a lot recently, and I know about it. I get called by them three times. I who do I get called by three times a day that I then drop the call? I don't even answer. I cannot who do recognize Michael in my line of work? Three, four times a day? Recruiters. Oh, you know, the guy that I met today? Sorry. You see, you wouldn't know that because I'm associate to every single client account. I'm a named person on that. I get called by that team if you need help with your apps. That's what we're going to be talking very brief. Today is going to be a little bit of a slag off session because it's absolute it's it's awful if anyone's out there right. Until you've been advertising a certain amount of time or matter, you suddenly realize that that help is useless. But when you're up first, you start doing it. And then I'll have like, new advertisers come on board with consulting again. Now, coming to that call, like I, so I'll have a chat. I want to call it back to you then. They've told me to do, like a traffic campaign and I'll. Yeah, I think because it comes from people like, oh, that must be right. Like they've obviously told me some kind of first target with it and then retarget them with a bottom funnel sales campaign or lead to Gen come back. And it's just like I understand the theory of that sounds really good. And that actually probably worked like four years ago. It doesn't work anymore. Yeah. So what I'm so this podcast is a bit of a slag off, and it's actually a little bit of, a push towards our services because for free we can fix these service. You. Yeah. So you start your ads, you've got your ad account going, you've got $10 a day on there going through it. It's working for you. What you think it's worth to you. And then bring, bring, bring, bring on those matters on the call. saying that they can help. We just need to say for some security, it's being recorded. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And then they take you through and they go. We've been looking at your account, and someone said to me, that should be the day, because I actually took one of these calls. And the reason I took the call was because if I'm having trouble with an account, I'll kind of ask the old one saying and they'll say, oh, can you help me with this account? And I get, I'm God. It's like they can't just go through your yeah, I can help with. And they said, oh yeah, you know, could do so yeah. Because you're one of my 400, 400 accounts. This guy said he looked after. Well, he's having to talk to them all the time and get one. Get them good. Long gone. Oh my God. It's just like. And you can never get back to these people. They leave within a day. They're they're no longer on your account. It's useless. And I know that anyone listening to this will also go. Yes, you're absolutely right. So how can I help school? My new school account is not. It is new. It isn't it six. It's had a bit of a revamp. It's having a bit of a revamp and unsafe by joining. But essentially you come in for free and at the moment it's all free and that's how to videos and stuff that. But why? I've sort of launched on purpose to be free and have a having everything everywhere, because I'm starting to now understand what my audience wants when they're in school. So we are about to launch a whole free step area where it's going to be, how to build your ad, and all the psychology comes behind it and how to get it right. And then there's going to be some paid for services which are going to be expensive at all. Before you go into the consultant to those technology to be specializing in e-com or specializing in Legion, funnels, all this sort of stuff, and you'll have to pay for that, which is even going to be a lot too. Which of my 49 pounds a month and you'll get access to the whole lot, and you'll even get access to integrated calls and things like that. So I the reason I have to charge a bit is because you can't. No one can work for free because at work goes into this. I mean, the conveyor belt kind of is the fact that you can come in, you can get, you know, you starting on Facebook and there's loads of content for free. And you'll be able to ask questions and the community is there to help, etc.. And then when you're a little bit more advanced, you want to go down the different strategies of Ecom and Legion and take it to another level, because you know, because you got to understand, I think the problem is, if I was to do all that for free, people would jump straight to me. And the stuff that I'd understand that is you've got to work your way up and then we shouldn't take long. It's just understanding when you are. Because I go on to many calls where I'm like, I don't stand out as much. But then as I'm around and it's like you need before you can get into the big strategy, you've got to understand that. Yeah. But a lot of work we go into that. So there's a slight pay for service, which on the whole, when you're thinking of the money, you can waste getting the ads wrong. And that part of the service will get them hopefully right more, more often than not I think it's great. And then obviously you can lead in the consultancy. So if any of you are thinking like that, that team is expiring. You've got like a leader in the team taking calls. Now we are changing people's businesses in account because you guys are experts of matter ads and unfortunately matter on. But as a matter of they are they you're not going to get to speak to the people who are the real experts. We just speaking to calls and into people who just been given a script to read. And it's just not helpful because everyone's at a cost of different things. They can't just give the same strategy to everyone because it's a different strategy for everyone. So that's my little short podcast, which is a bit of a pitch podcast ready, because I just know the you guys entering it when you start seeing what's in there and the things that we've got coming, it will be an amazing community that you can learn from. Even people in there now. Thinking is amazing community to learn from. Yeah, I've seen people like talking back and forth and I'm way, way, way off what it's going to be by the end of this month. It the end of Tuesday 1st of July. So when I launch it, it's way off what it's going to be then so that you'll get for so little time and energy and money, you'll get so many answers. It'll be a great. Yeah, it will probably be will probably be out on the Thomas podcast guys. Yeah. Yeah. So so what's the how do people find it. Go to school.com. That's with a k s k o l school's k w l force.com/the connect or just go to school.com and search for the apps today and we'll come up. But yeah direct one would be better. And yeah just see how it goes and just create this great community. We're going to have calls I already do dropping clinics on Thursday at 4:00. So jump into that. But that now probably if you jump on quicker than on this podcast could come out. But if you jump on before that opens, that will probably pay is free at the moment about probably going to sort of paid, but as I said, it's like, wow, it's like 49. Quite a thing. Yeah, a lot of money. If I remember when I first started in this seven years ago, I was part of a group that works, wasn't on school, but it works. Similarly, I was paying £390 for what I'm now offering going to be offering for fortnight. It's good, and it might be the forever, because I might end up having no chat rooms and going to the worst idea ever. And it might change for 90 at the moment. Get in there again where you can. So yeah, thank you for listening and I'll see you in the next one.
