which is one of the four main books in the New Testament, that tells us the story of Jesus and it's his teachings and all the things that he did, we're trying our best to learn as much as we can. orientation class that Jesus gave to all of his early followers, where he sits them down and people came from all over the place. 00:02:20.719 --> 00:02:26.159 I mean, we don't know exactly how many, but hundreds, even thousands of people were there to listen to Jesus teach. 00:02:26.400 --> 00:02:30.800 And he tells them this is what God is really like, and this is what God really values. when he'd finished the Sermon on the Mount, as we call it, the crowds were amazed at his teaching. 00:02:54.479 --> 00:03:00.159 For he taught with real authority, quite unlike their teachers of theme for the next few weeks. 00:03:10.080 --> 00:03:14.400 What does it mean that Jesus has real authority? 00:03:15.439 --> 00:03:21.120 Last week we looked at how different the authority of Jesus is from the authority that we typically see in this world. 00:03:21.439 --> 00:03:29.520 Because we all have experience with authority, but sometimes we have authority, people who are in charge of us skepticism that's gonna come up anytime we talk about something like this, because we actually live in a culture that is very comfortable with the idea of like evil forces or unseen, you know, are more upset about the pigs than they are excited about this person, these two people who were oppressed, who were completely and totally captive to evil, and now they are free. 00:21:32.640 -->
