picture of God is hazy and fuzzy and confused, and when we pray and when we we go to God, we can't go with the kind of directness and boldness that we could go to if we really knew him. 00:08:18.399 like, because he's real, he has a personality, and it's kind of humorous to talk about, but at the same time, we need to understand that there are actually things that matter more to Jesus than other person who bumped into God, and this story reveals something really powerful to us. 00:11:23.360 --> 00:11:27.279 Something really powerful if we can grab a hold of it, and it's what gets God's Scripture that certain people did, and it's almost like God stopped and gave them extra attention because whatever they did really grabbed a hold of him. 00:11:59.919 --> 00:12:01.519 And we see this the noise of a crowd going past, he asked what was happening, and they told him that Jesus the Nazarene was going by. 00:12:27.919 --> 00:12:31.120 So he began shouting, Jesus, son of David, have we're gonna read a miracle pretty much every single week, but it shouldn't be surprising to us that our supernatural God does supernatural things. 00:13:31.279 --> 00:13:36.320 Like, if God doesn't do though the story is very succinct and neatly wrapped, if we unpack it, there's a lot going on behind the scenes between the lines. 00:14:37.200 --> 00:14:37.840 I want to look at that. 00:14:37.919 clear very early in the story that he's not expecting to meet Jesus that day. 00:14:48.240 --> 00:14:57.600 So he didn't know that Jesus was going to be in town because when he hears this buzz, when he hears all this commotion, he has to ask, hey, what's going on? 00:14:58.000 --> 00:15:02.000 And someone tells him, Jesus of Nazareth is here. 00:15:02.559 --> 00:15:07.679 And instantly, like the exact moment that Bartimaeus hears that Jesus is nearby, what does he do? 00:15:07.759 --> 00:15:08.559 He shouts. 00:15:10.240 --> 00:15:12.639 He says, Jesus, son of David, have mercy on me. Jesus goes to see King Herod, and it says in Luke chapter 23, verse 8, Herod was delighted at the opportunity to see Jesus, because he had heard about him and had been hoping for a long time to see
