saying this verse, he's really walking through a field with his disciples. 00:06:27.759 --> 00:06:37.759 And he reaches down, and his disciples do, and pick some wheat, which broke the law of the one thing because the Pharisees and the religious people had just been on Jesus constantly, all the time. 00:06:47.439 --> 00:06:51.360 I mean, he was going around and he was healing people and he was how important it is that we have scheduled real rest in our lives, how God Himself rested, how He created earth and land to have rest, and how He created us with a need for real rest. 00:07:48.639 --> 00:07:50.240 And those are kind of specific things. 00:07:50.319 --> 00:08:01.519 And today we're gonna take a step back and we're gonna look at a kind of a broader thing that Jesus teaches us, and not just by his words, but uh just also how he lived his everyday life. 00:08:02.480 --> 00:08:05.040 Jesus saw things different than I do. 00:08:06.079 --> 00:08:11.920 So when Jesus saw sheep, for instance, he spoke of people and how God cares for them. 00:08:12.480 --> 00:08:16.959 When he saw a shepherd, he spoke of how he feels about us. 00:08:17.759 --> 00:08:23.759 When he saw bread, he spoke of how he wants to feed us and to give us life. 00:08:24.079 --> 00:08:31.199 When he saw water, he spoke about the Holy Spirit and explains how he can quench our thirst. 00:08:31.680 --> 00:08:37.759 And when in a storm, he spoke about faith and how that gets us through the troubles in our life. 00:08:38.080 --> 00:08:44.799 When he saw a mustard seed, he spoke about how quickly and powerfully his kingdom would grow. 00:08:45.519 --> 00:08:53.039 When he saw a house being built, he spoke about how important it is for us to build on a foundation of God in our lives. 00:08:53.360 particular mountain, and the Jewish people had uh God's home in the temple on a different mountain. 00:12:06.399 --> 00:12:12.000 Um so he's talking to the Samaritan woman, and she says, Sir, you must be a prophet. 00:12:12.159 --> 00:12:16.320 So tell me, why is it that you Jews insist that Jerusalem is the only place of worship? 00:12:16.480 --> 00:12:22.080 While we Samaritans claim it's here on Mount Jerizim and where our ancestors worshiped. 00:12:22.480 --> 00:12:30.960 Jesus replied, Believe me, dear woman, the time is coming when it will no longer matter whether you worship the Father on this mountain or in Jerusalem. 00:12:31.279 --> 00:12:38.559 You Samaritans know very little about the one you worship, while we Jews know all about him, for salvation comes through the Jews. 00:13:46.720 And he stole something that wasn't just a verbal blessing, it was amounted to physical property and a big part of the will. 00:13:46.799 --> 00:13:47.600 And it was his plan. 00:13:47.679 --> 00:13:49.200 He goes in there and he steals it. 00:13:49.600 --> 00:14:01.279 And not only does he spend his last moments with his dad that way, but his dad finds out, and in his last moments, he 00:17:44.000 --> 00:17:57.359 And when Jacob said this, there wasn't a tabernacle, there wasn't a temple, and still Jacob was surprised that God can meet us anywhere, any place, anytime. 00:17:59.119 brother angry enough to kill him, even though he was a scoundrel from the word go, God decided to visit Jacob right where he was. 00:18:35.039 --> 00:18:44.000 And he also gave Jacob vision so he can make such a distinction between what is spiritual and what is the world, what is secular and what is Christian, that we can miss God in everyday life, that we can miss God in all of the world.
