00:08:23.439 And what I've seen in and this is in Ruth chapter two, what we're gonna look at these these qualities that unlock everything good that God wants in this beautiful story. 00:08:23.920 --> 00:08:37.919 I I want to go into just a little bit of depth in each of these, and I want us to pray through God, these are the qualities, these is the resume that you want us to have, and I want to --> 00:08:55.440 The only way that we can fully grasp what these qualities mean is if we individually sit down with this truth, and I want to encourage you if you have time this week, read through Ruth chapter 2. 00:08:55.679 --> 00:09:04.960 Make some notes in the margin on your Bible of these words and what sticks out, and then let God show you what he really feels about these different qualities. 00:09:05.120 --> 00:09:16.080 So I'm just my my hope this morning is to introduce those concepts to this beautiful story, and I want to go ahead and read chapter two of Ruth, and then we're gonna come down and break it down. 00:09:16.240 --> 00:09:16.960 Chapter two. 00:09:17.519 --> 00:09:22.000 Now, Naomi, and that okay, quick background if you weren't here last week. 00:09:22.159 --> 00:09:28.720 Um Naomi and Elimelech are this couple, they there's a famine, they move to a foreign land. 00:09:28.960 --> 00:09:34.720 She has two sons, those two sons marry, her husband dies, her two sons die. 00:09:34.960 --> 00:09:38.240 She is frustrated, they move back, she is now back alone. 00:09:38.399 --> 00:09:40.879 One of her two daughters-in-law said, I want to come with you. 00:09:41.039 --> 00:09:41.759 She said, No. 00:09:42.000 --> 00:09:50.159 We learned last week that one of the two stayed there in the land where there was godless and full of idols, but Ruth said, I want to go with you. 00:09:50.320 --> 00:09:51.679 So that's where we pick up. 00:09:51.840 --> 00:09:52.480 And here it is. 00:09:52.559 --> 00:09:57.840 Now Naomi had a relative on her husband's side from the clan of Elimelech. 00:09:58.159 --> 00:10:02.960 And you can underline this a man of standing whose name was Boaz. 00:10:03.200 --> 00:10:04.799 This is the first time we hear about Bo. 00:10:05.200 --> 00:10:13.279 And Ruth, the Moabitus, said to Naomi, Let me go to the fields and pick up the leftover grain behind anyone whose eyes I find favor. 00:10:13.600 --> 00:10:16.320 And Naomi said, Go ahead, my daughter. 00:10:16.559 --> 00:10:20.559 So she went out and began to glean in the fields behind the harvesters. 00:10:20.720 --> 00:10:29.679 As it turned out, she found herself working in a field belonging to Boaz, who was from the clan of Elimelech. 00:10:30.080 --> 00:10:35.039 Just then Boaz had arrived from Bethlehem and greeted the harvesters. 00:10:35.279 --> 00:10:38.879 The Lord be with you, and the Lord bless you, they called back. 00:10:39.200 --> 00:10:44.000 Boaz asked his foreman of his harvesters, Whose young woman is that? 00:10:44.240 --> 00:10:49.679 And the foreman replied, She is a Moabitis, who came back from Moab with Naomi. 00:10:50.399 --> 00:10:55.120 She said, Please let me glean and gather among the sheaves behind the harvesters. 00:10:55.360 --> 00:11:02.720 She went into the field and has worked steadily from morning until now, except for a short rest in the shelter. 00:11:03.200 --> 00:11:08.399 Boaz obviously went over and said to Ruth, My daughter, listen to me. 00:11:08.639 --> 00:11:13.360 Do not glo go and glean in another field, and do not go away from here. 00:11:13.600 --> 00:11:15.840 Stay here 00:14:36.559 She said, Let me go to the fields and pick up the leftover grain behind anyone whose eyes I find favor. 00:14:37.360 --> 00:14:45.039 This quality, which is shunned in our society, is magnified here, and that is the quality of submission. 00:14:45.840 --> 00:14:46.639 Submission. 00:14:47.200 --> 00:14:54.879 And that word is totally taken out of context in our society, and yet it is glorified here. 00:14:55.039 --> 00:14:59.360 She says, Let me go, but she she understands I have no position here. 00:14:59.759 --> 00:15:02.320 You are the only authority I know. 00:15:02.480 --> you who may be here today, and that are women, and maybe you're in a situation or circumstance where you didn't ask for it. 00:15:53.440 --> 00:16:01.120 And maybe those around you have said, you know what, unless you have a husband or there's a man, then you're you're not complete. 00:16:01.440 --> 00:16:09.279 I would say that this is one of the most beautiful examples of a working woman, and lost her husband, and she's living with her mother-in-law, and yet she said, You know what? 00:16:19.919 --> 00:16:24.480 I'm going to submit not to another man, but to my authority and to God.
