Book Club: Lonely Londoners and why Victoria won't lend you a tenner
Show Notes

The Arts + Culture Network presents the Young Fabians Book Club, which so far this year has been dealing with the topic of ‘migration’. Dan Wood (Book Club coordinator), Carolina Saludes (YF podcast producer) and Victoria Parrett (Book Club enthusiast and general top sport) discuss Sam Selvon’s classic 1956 short novel about the tribulations of young Caribbean men in post-war London, from the name to the peculiar obsession with expensive suits. We will also find out how the book relates to contemporary London, and why, frankly, Victoria just won’t lend you a tenner.

We will be posting the recordings of the Book Club weekly for the next month, and then start our new strand in collaboration with the YF International Network.

This episode was recorded on June 9th 2019 at Fabian HQ.
