Deeba Syed, Rights of Women lawyer interviewed by Victoria Parrett
Show Notes

Victoria Parrett, chair of the Arts and Culture Network at the Young Fabians and Gender Studies graduate from LSE, interviews lawyer and activist Deeba Syed. Deeba, who is herself an ex-Young Fabians executive committee member, and a lawyer specialising in sexual harassment, comes on the Pod to talk about what made her want to dedicate her life to women’s rights at work, how she became a lawyer, and her groundbreaking work with Rights of Women. After the #metoo movement, the Harvey Weinstein trial and the Alex Salmond trial, this conversation couldn’t me more prescient, even during the lockdown.

To all our female listeners: we want you in our podcast, so if you’re passionate about a topic just get in touch with us at podcast@youngfabians.org.uk. We want to hear from you.

This episode was recorded in early March, so the guests were wonderfully oblivious to the effects of the pandemic on them and women everywhere.

Enjoy!
