Episode 423, The Andrew Parker Show: Is Western Civilization Losing?
In this thought-provoking episode of The Andrew Parker Show, Andrew examines whether the foundational values of Western civilization—freedom, liberty, the pursuit of happiness, and the sanctity of life—are under attack. From the legacy of 9/11 and the atrocities of October 7th to rising anti-Semitism, media-driven division, and ideological battles on college campuses, Andrew lays out why defending these principles is more urgent than ever.
He explores the role of political parties, the media, and academia in shaping cultural and moral frameworks, and he asks: Are we at risk of losing the values that have defined America and Israel as beacons of democracy and liberty?
Listen in for a candid and sobering discussion that challenges us all to reflect on what must be done to preserve Western civilization.

Episode 423, The Andrew Parker Show - Is Western Civilization Losing?
Welcome to another episode of the Andrew Parker Show. Go to theandrewparkershow.com to visit our website, subscribe, follow us. We talk politics, Israel, and the law every episode. We now have over 420 episodes, and thank you once again for joining us. As today, I wanna talk about
Perhaps one of the most fundamental or foundational topics.
of our time.
because it affects us all every day, every minute of every day. And that is whether or not freedom, liberty, the pursuit of happiness are
actually principles that we
will defend until the end. That we will defend no matter what.
that we believe in the sanctity of life, that we believe in the concepts that are so important ⁓ if you really analyze them, though they may not sound like it initially, and that is the concepts of private property.
Because without those concepts, we are left with might makes right. The strongest prevail and the weakest are taken out.
with laws and rules, norms and mores that we follow consistent with the principles of private property, we order our society
with laws developed by us through our representatives.
in a way that separates us from the state of nature, from might makes right.
and we cherish those inalienable rights.
right of freedom, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Because man can be great.
when developing.
in such an experiment. That is the United States. Well, it is now being taught and thought about quite differently by many.
And sadly, I have to say the party I was a part of for many, years, the Democratic Party, is leading the way in tearing down
those fundamental principles. Why do I say that? It's not like all of those who are elected in the Democratic Party don't believe, but many don't. And it is becoming insidious within the party. And party leaders, to the extent it exists, that they exist in the party, are doing little or nothing about it.
other than to continue to support those voices of toward America, American history, and what America stands for. We are indeed teaching hate.
everything we do, all news and reports and facts.
that we hear and the drumbeat of it has such vitriol.
vitriol against the United States, vitriol about how it is the worst of the world and we need to change it all the way to the point of reparations but just more fundamentally
We must change. Revolutionize change.
And it is reminding us this past week.
And more than reminding us, it is showing its...
ugliness this past week. The remembrance is from 24 years ago, 9-11, when the United States was attacked
precisely for being the United States.
precisely for
Being the shiny city on the hill, a beacon to the world of democracy, freedom, liberty, the pursuit of happiness.
attacked by Islamic radicals.
and really bringing to a punctuation point a fight for the ideals of Western civilization.
The reason I'm concerned is because in the past 24 years, I'm not so sure we are winning this battle or this war.
Battles here and there, we have one. We responded to 9-11 somewhat. Osama bin Laden is no more. So we brought the perpetrators to justice and then stood on the sidelines.
Islamic radicals did not stand on the sidelines.
They came together and two years ago on October 7th, not just Hamas,
many, many others in full-throated support, not just with voice, but with treasure, logistical,
and human support.
They carried out one of the most heinous attacks since World War II, Nazi-like attacks.
One of the few times you can compare something related to the Third Reich to what has happened today, one of the very few times.
And so that ⁓ happened on October 7th. Well, what does one have to do with the other, Parker? Well, it has a lot to do with the other because while it's couched in, ⁓ if we just had our land, October 7th would have never happened. That's just not true. Historically, you can see that it's not true.
as we've talked about in this show, number of...
⁓ This was a religious war. This was an attack, religious attack. was an attack against Jews ⁓ for being Jews. It was an attack to wipe out the state of Israel, to destroy its psyche.
And that did not and will not happen.
And Israel has responded, making every attempt possible.
To not achieve military victory through bullets, but rather through negotiation and have been rejected at every step while hostages are held, Israel has responded now with overwhelming force.
And unfortunately, it looks like that is what is going to have to end this conflict.
But 9-11 was horrific.
one of the worst, if not the worst, attacks on US soil. And October 7th was per capita at least tenfold of 9-11 to the state of Israel. But make no mistake, the attacks against the state of Israel, the attack of 9-11, are spawned out of
the same crucible, the same essence.
And.
The idea of America, the idea of a democratic state, Jewish state in the Middle East.
must be destroyed.
our enemies believe. And that's what they're out to do.
We don't want to fight that war, but we must. And we're not doing it very well. Western Europe, in fact, is supporting our enemies.
the Democratic Party, some may argue, is unwittingly often supporting our enemies.
Just as, more recently, their moral construct has caused them to support criminals as opposed to victims.
When is that what the Democratic Party stands for?
They are the party that Jews have flocked to for decades. Many, many.
Why? Because they are a party that will protect the Jewish minority who have been victims throughout the millennia. Well, it doesn't appear that way anymore, does it?
As the party is being taken over by people like Ilhan Omar, you know, not fully yet, but it has, you can't deny it has become a groundswell and now is where the energy is within the party. New York City's mayor, Case in point.
calling for, not opposing, not rejecting a global intifada, not rejecting it.
and the many other things that he has said. you know, it's not, you can't just isolate it there. Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, and the blatant anti-Semitic statements that they make, AOC, and even Bernie Sanders.
Now Bernie Sanders tries to couch his statements in an anti-Israeli government sort of policy debate.
But certainly his comments are or lead to the destruction of the state of Israel.
and all of these things, why am I mixing them? All of them come back to.
Judeo-Christian fundamental values, Western civilization under attack.
And that water unwittingly is being carried again by Western Europe, Canada, other countries, Australia, and now in this country, a strong foothold within the Democratic Party. But Jews were there supporting the Democratic Party and continue to.
in hopes that it will come back.
I am fearful that it is not going to come back, not going to be the protector, as Chuck Schumer calls himself, the Shomer, the shield, the protector of the Jewish people. No, neither is he the protector, for sure, of late, nor is his party, sadly.
And now we're seeing.
that the constant drum beat.
of hate for those who disagree with your policy positions.
is leading to death.
Death of one of the most peaceful.
in the policy hurly-burly marketplace of ideas, and that is Charlie Kirk.
He might have had strong views that he defended and backed with facts that frustrated the other side.
But he was peaceful. He was what this country stands for. Agree with him or disagree with him.
Mark Dayton, I recall, and some of my conservative friends really don't like it when I tell this story,
We met with him many times.
and he would take every one of the meetings that we asked for when he was a U.S. and talk to him about the fundamental facts using books, almanacs, maps, ⁓ literature, and a whole range of sides and opinions to educate him on the Middle East conflict.
We became good friends even though I disagreed with him on policy, ⁓ ferociously, frankly, ⁓ almost on every issue.
He invited me more than once to the governor's mansion for breakfast. was just ⁓ four of us.
and
Again, he became a good friend, a Democrat, a liberal, true to liberalism as they come. Really believed in it. Laid out the facts to support it, or tried to.
And I remember that then and now I see where we are now.
And it is a serious problem. believe it began years before Barack Obama, but Barack Obama put the division, open wound division in this country on steroids.
And the media picked up on it, loving Obama as they did.
And as you might recall, or maybe you don't, but when Donald Trump was running in 2016 for the Republican nomination, I think there were 17 running, many very well-equipped Republican, long-time Republican politicians, some of the best and brightest.
Delivering the conservative message.
The media had a love affair with Donald Trump. They propped him up, gave him all the coverage, hardly said a negative word about him. Until it was clear he was going to get the nomination, and it appears that they had gotten their success because, who would be better for the pocketbook of these media outlets than Donald Trump?
to be the Republican nominee. And my God, he was getting traction, and my God, he did get it. Then, like on a dime, the media turned. And this is not just a conspiracy theory, Parker this, that. You look back on any study that was done of the coverage of the Republican nomination prior to the convention.
2016, 2015, 2016. You will see exactly what I'm talking about.
and as soon as he got the nomination.
the media turned on him. Now a lot of people say they turned on him as soon as he came down the golden escalator.
I don't think so. In small part, certainly. Made him out to be a clown, he had no chance, this sort of thing.
But no, it was after he got the nomination that it just, ⁓ the guns were drawn, the blades were pulled out and brandished.
And for the last 10 years, has been nearly 10 years, I guess, it has been all out war, broadcast news, international news, and cable news for the most part in this country against Donald Trump, not just against his policies. ⁓
Which, is how the coverage was with George W. Bush. It was pounding.
But it wasn't.
in a way that would create the sort of sentiment that a Tyler Robinson would have.
⁓
or this guy, Ruth.
And those are just one example. The drumbeat of the anti-Trump by the media is, I don't know if it's been seen before because of the personal nature of it, because of the language that is used, fascist, dictator, autocrat, Nazi, Hitler.
subhuman.
Not human. Dehumanized.
and the media picks up on it. of course it doesn't start there. The politicians are
are giving.
the coverage over to the media and they'll pick it up and run with it.
And the Democratic Party is particularly good at this. And you've noticed it many, many, many times, where an issue arises.
and they have a narrative, one or two key words, and those words are pounded across the political Democratic Party spectrum.
from candidates to elected officials to staff to pundits to news people, all of them repeat like a mantra the words they're sent out to go with.
And on social media that can be done and it can be done very effectively and it creates an echo chamber you can't get out of even those longtime Democrat mainstream Democrat JFK Democrats or similar Joe Lieberman, know Some Fundamental and also, you know ⁓ far left wing liberal Democrats
I don't know who used to be, I think he's now no longer on the left of the Democratic Party. Chris Coons out of Connecticut.
He is a responsible liberal Democrat, but he's not in the middle of the party anymore.
He just isn't.
But what is worse than the media, I don't know if it's worse, but what is as bad as the media coverage and what has caused things like Tyler Robinson, a 22-year-old kid from a middle-class family, well-educated A student,
his whole life ahead of him.
to go out grab a gun long long gun
take it out with the intention of and then completing the act of murder.
Charlie Kirk was his murder okay in his.
Moral values? Is that how he was raised that considering even murder, no matter how angry you might be politically? No, this has to have taken that.
malleable mind of this young kid.
and pounded away at it for a significant amount of time, just as I've just described the media and social media has done, to the point where...
the moral construct that he might have been raised on or understood from our American way of life, the Judeo-Christian values that we all, at least used to, agree.
or at the foundation of us being together as Americans.
and set that aside to commit this murder, allegedly.
But what's worse is...
as bad.
We are raising a whole generation with this propensity where it could occur again and again and again. We are raising an entire generation or more. And we don't know what to do about it. And no one's doing anything about it except somewhat President Trump. Where college and university institutions are institutions of higher learning are teaching.
these kids. A hate of America.
that America must be punished, must be changed.
because of our history and more. The revisionist history of America, of the Jews, of Israel. Israel, by the way,
The only country in the entire Middle East.
that has a permanent memorial to 9-11.
in a central square.
the state of Israel. The only country in the entire Middle East, not only that is democratic, has the same fundamental Judeo-Christian values, the sanctity of life.
the importance
of treating your neighbor with kindness and of the ideal of private property.
Democracy, freedom and liberty, the state of Israel in the Middle East. The number one ally of the United States.
in the only country that every single year
holds a solemn ceremony.
on 9-11.
because of their clear understanding of the symbolism of that day and what happened and the reality of what happened.
Same thing on October 7th here in the United States, maybe. But not if these generations in college have anything to say about it. They're protesting on campus in support of Hamas, in support of the killers and murderers.
And I dare say
If we don't root that out from our colleges and universities in a concerted effort.
Western civilization may well be lost.
And not only that, if we don't root out those negative ideas, those backwards moral concepts that are contrary to everything that this country stands for, if we don't root that out from our political parties, and I'm talking about both of them, Republican and Democrat, but right now, it's really the Democratic party that is having a
great deal of difficulty with it because they won't stand up to it. Just like Western Europe will not stand up to radical Islamic ideology.
It must be done, and it must be done now. In the name of Charlie Kirk.
What does Charlie Kirk have to do with this? This guy wasn't a radical Islamic. That isn't the point.
The is that the constant drum beat.
that does in excuse radical fundamentalist theory, whether it be Islamic,
or whether it be killing your opponent who you may disagree with on political policy.
If Charlie Kirk were out there inciting murder
He should be brought in. And there are plenty.
who are doing that in different.
on different topics.
But I can tell you...
In Canada, for example, and this is going on around the world.
It is happening.
Very off.
with Islamic fascist radicals who are spreading this word and being allowed to do it. Example, Carleton University in Ottawa. They're giving the stage to an Imam. Well, he's a religious leader. Of course, we're going to give him the pulpit.
But what is this Imam said? He's called for Jewish professors to be quote, taken out.
He has declared, quote, that the nation of Israel must be abolished. cannot settle for anything less.
He talks about conspiracies that Jews control health care and education. Just an outrage. Baloney.
And he shifts the blame for October 7th, away from the terrorists who carried it out.
Instead, he talks about sexist and queerphobic ideology.
And these messages are being delivered to students.
some in their first or second year in college.
The idea of academic freedom on our campuses is being twisted.
in order to
shield the hate of the speaker.
When you talk of people being taken out, the young minds who all they hear is the drumbeat of Hitler and Nazis and that the media pushes out there that the Democratic Party screams about using those terms, those words.
Is it a wonder that this type of thing happened and why Charlie Kirk?
I'll tell you why.
Those that want to revolutionize the world know that Charlie Kirk is standing in the way, like few others, if any. Donald Trump will come and go.
Charlie Kirk is educating future generations. It is there that the war comes to a head. But the war should be a war of ideas and policies. It has been for decades.
It's not a war of bullets.
It should just be a battle of ideas and policies. That's what academic freedom is. It's not calling your opponent Hitler, a fascist, a dictator, the biggest threat to democracy.
and dehumanizing him repeatedly over and over and over again. And the bottom line is.
Much of what is ⁓ being accused is false. It's based on fake facts.
So this past week, the anniversary of 9-11, the 24th year, as well as the assassination of Charlie Kirk, while quite different.
is a watershed moment.
For not just the United States, for America, but really for fundamental principles, moral values for Western civilization.
And a decision must be made.
whether those values are worth fighting for.
not with weapons necessarily. Although when we're talking about
Terrorism.
There should be a NATO-like organization to fight world terror.
that still hasn't come to pass.
Hopefully it will soon.
