Taming a new country like Kentucky required the abilities and tenacity of women as much as the men. This is a story of Rachel a young girl of 18 years and her gun which helped carve out a living from among the wilderness, nature and indigenous Indians as well as primitive culture. Rachel faced many hardships and adversities but through determination and quickness of thought helped that raw land become the18th state known as the bluegrass state.
