
Kentucky Girl
Taming a new country like Kentucky required the abilities and tenacity of women as much as the men. This is a story of Rachel a young girl of 18 years and her gun which helped carve out a living from among the wilderness, nature and indigenous Indians as well as primitive culture. Rachel faced many hardships and adversities but through determination and quickness of thought helped that raw land become the18th state known as the bluegrass state.

As Rachel followed the creek home and came upon her home field, Clem mistakes her for an Indian and shoots. In the last split second Clem hear's her voice and pushes the gun up. The two rush toward each other with great emotion. Clem calls for their friends and all six excitedly talk at the same time. Rachel pleads for time with her husband alone. The next day Rachel describes her ordeal.
