The Coming Kingdom - Luke Chapter 13

There was a shop my wife and I went to when we were dating that had a "going out of business" sign in front. We went in and looked around. We even bought some things for a great price since they had reduced their prices because they were going out of business. There was a sense of urgency, like we had to take the offer now because soon it would no longer be available. I was a little suspicious when I saw that shop a year later and they were still "going out of business." I grew even more suspicious as that going out of business sale lasted for several more years! Businesses understand that people feel a sense of urgency when there is a limited time. This sermon looks at Luke chapter 13 as we continue our sermon series on the Gospel of Luke. In this chapter we see how Jesus taught a sense of urgency because of the fact that God's kingdom was coming. We have an opportunity now to repent and turn to Jesus for salvation, but this time is limited because the kingdom is coming soon.
