Episode 1
Dr. Steve Mitchell, medical director of the emergency department at Seattle’s Harborview Medical Center, and a University of Washington associate professor of emergency medicine, shares about his non-traditional path to becoming a doctor. The SPU alumnus describes what it’s like to care for people in a remarkably intense time while also balancing his own self-care.
Dr. Mitchell also talks about the COVID-19 pandemic and how he helped build a unique platform called WAHealth that collects data from every hospital in Washington state and keeps track of capacities so facilities don’t become overwhelmed.
Dr. Steve Mitchell is featured in an upcoming short film Front-line Falcons, to be released on April 12.
