Dr. Marissa Kiss earned her PhD in Sociology this past Fall (2020 semester) from George Mason University.  She is a New York native who graduated from the University of Rhode Island and earned a mater's in Sociology from George Mason University

Prior to beginning her program, Dr. Kiss conducted research and data analysis and statistics for a university and for a large non-profit research organization.  As the mom of a toddler she was appreciative to have defended her dissertation via zoom!

>>>Dr. Kiss recommends: Untamed by Glennon Doyle<<<

Her unique contribution to her field is FASCINATING!!  This relatively new mommy is a Major League Baseball (MLB) enthusiast who studied the sociology of sport.  She looked at immigration policy and how changes to policy between 1871 and today have facilitated or restricted immigration growth within MLB and how those changes impacted the ball players and the sport.

In today's episode, Dr. Kiss gives tips on course selection and timing and we talk about the uptick in foreign born and native born black baseball players after Jackie Robinson's debut in in Major League Baseball in 1947.
