The Story of Rock and Roll: S6E33
Episode 33 of Season 6 went out live on Rebel Rock Radio at 19h00 on 17 Aug 2023. It was a ripper due to me having a great day and a lot of people tuned in. We started off with the ‘No Lullaby’ the opening track off Jethro Tull’s incredibly strong live album Bursting Out. The show had plenty of variety this week, check out the artists featured below, you should find something you dig, hopefully, a lot.
The Immortals this week featured a track called 'Battle Hymns' by the mighty Manowar. This was the title track off their 1982 release, an album that did really well for them. We stayed with the '80s and checked out 1981 for this week’s Diabolical Challenge. The albums and tracks selected were:
ACDC: For Those About To Rock – ‘For Those About To Rock’
Ozzy Osbourne: Diary of a Madman – ‘Over The Mountain’
Iron Maiden: Killers – ‘Murders In The Rue Morgue’
Rush: Moving Pictures – ‘Red Barchetta’
For once we had a clear favorite, Rush's Moving pictures was the album most chosen as the one to be taken if you could only have one. In other news Philistine’s debut album has been unbanned and we took a listen to 'Black Mamba'. The album is produced by Theo Crous who has done a great job. On this track in particular Dean Smith shows his amazing ability to generate the feeling of the snake moving, its quite eerie, and incedibly effective. We heard new stuff from Danko Jones and Corey Taylor as well. Check it out and feel free to comment on any of the TSORR social media sites. I am deeply appreciative of the time you spend on TSORR.
