Cheers gamers!
Hello and welcome to the unofficial controller podcast. This is episode number two hundred and eighty-seven, and you are joined by it's me, it's Scott, aka Scotty, aka Marathon Gaming, aka Switch Bitch, fanboy. I think that's enough, aka's. Um now, thank you to George, first of all, for captain captaining his own private jet and these past few weeks. Um, and in George's words, he'd probably say in a slew of top UCP show and gaming content. Um, so myself and RGT have both been away um separately, and we'll probably cover that in the future when we're all back together. Um, I did have some technical issues, my end. I'm not on the uh George and RGT money of the show. Um, so I'm on a very old dusty work laptop. Um, and I basically haven't got a new one. I had a Windows update, long story short, forced by work, and I was putting it off for months and months, and it stopped me from recording. So you haven't heard from me from a good few weeks. Um, I tried to record with George at the start of his record-breaking numbers of solo shows. Did he do three or four in a row? And they've been very entertaining for different reasons and they're always good fun. Um, but I do feel for George because I'm gonna feel for myself right now. It is hard. Um, you've got no one to bounce off of. It's a bit different for me because I've got all sorts of mental issues. I feel like there's six different people in the room, but it's just me. So this is probably more exciting for me than it is for you guys because I feel like I'm having a conversation with myself. Um, but I hope this is good listening for you guys. I've got a good show, uh, a lot of things I want to talk to you guys about. Um, I'll try not to go off in too much of a wibbly wobbly one because I do like to waffle about my personal and private life, um, a bit like I do on my YouTube videos. I just go down a rabbit hole of nonsense and then I lose track of where I'm going. So I've made a few notes so I can try and keep things um going away and I going along a nice little path for you guys. So I've got some good gaming news. Obviously, it's always very Nintendo heavy when you've got myself on, especially when I'm alone with uh no supervision for the other adults. Um, and this will be no exception because I'm gonna take full advantage of uh no George, no Seb, and no RGT. Um, so I have tried to be as least biased as possible. I've got some gaming news for PlayStation, I've got some updates for Xbox, and I'm just gonna buy two. So that's what I want to kick off with, really. Um, so first of all, in the start of the show, we always start the section with in case you're new and this is your first show, they're not normally this bad, there's normally other people here, but we normally say, What have you been playing? So I'm gonna tell you what I've been playing because you guys are all asking so politely, sitting there, looking all pretty. So I'm gonna tell you, I've been playing hell of a lot of Dead by Daylight, which I'm gonna go into more detail in a moment, and I've been playing Yakuza. Now, I did tell Georgia, I was very excited. Um, previously, I was telling Georgia RGT. Um, it might have been on a show with RGT, and then I've probably just private messaged George on WhatsApp. Um, other messages services are available. MSN, I believe, has shut down, so unfortunately, you can't use that. It's Haboo Hotel still a thing. Anyone remember Haboo Hotel? Scott, you're waffling already. Right, Yakuza Zero. So it's fantastic on the Switch. Um, I haven't played a Yakuza game and I've really enjoying it. Um, I've been talking to a lot of people at Light Yakuza. George is one of them, obviously the the main man of our show. He loves and champions all things Yakuza. I've got a brother-in-law who loves Yakuza, and it's the only game he hasn't played. Now, I know I have said that before on a previous show, um, but I have played a fair amount of hours on it and really, really enjoying it. And I was basically going backwards and forwards between that and Dead by Daylight when we last spoke. Um, and since then, it's been nothing but Dead by Daylight. I've had a week with no switch whatsoever, um, because I was away on a 40th birthday party, um, which was in Portugal, and it was chaos, guys. I'm not gonna beat around the bush, I'm not gonna pretty it up. Our partners and wives were there, there was no kids, no one brought their kids, they left them at home, and there were a lot of hair was getting left out, uh left down. We had a pool, we had um three floors, uh, there was always someone up all hours of night. The earliest we went to bed, I think, was about half two, and that was an early night. You know, you go out of bed at four or five, you wake up at eight, someone's cracking open a beer. There was like table tennis, a pool table, there was like a games room in the basement, foosball table. It was really good fun. I cannot welcome it enough. You know, like um, I know this is not gaming related, but this is a fun story. You know, like as we get older, you know, you have your stag dudes and stuff, you know, maybe in your 20s and early 30s, and then as you get into your 40s and so on, I mean, you don't really see your friends, do you? Unless it's um for different reasons. You know, it's hard for people to uh to go out and have fun, everyone's got commitments and children, it's hard to get sitters. So to get everyone the same place, you know, without it being something morbid like a funeral, it was really something special. So I want to say to everyone, if you've got a 40th, a 50th, a 60th birthday coming up, do you know what? It doesn't have to be a round number. 45th, 55th. I suggest have a look at your local airport, message your friends, open the group of WhatsApp, even if it's a national flight, even if you're going to Nukey for the weekend, just get away, have a laugh. And speaking of having a laugh, this show is going to drop on Sunday, the 27th of September. Now, the next weekend after that, I'm gonna be in Blackpool. Now, it's Play Expo, I've talked about on the show, it's a fantastic, probably the biggest event. It's literally like a stagdo for gamers. There's beer being drunk and spilt around, there's arcade cabs, it's a bit like Timeless, um, but it's been longer established than Timeless. Um, and it's very, very, very good. Um, it is up there, it is a big one. Probably one of the best. Probably is one of the best. If anyone is interested in that, please look up um Play Expo Blackpool. It's a long way for us, it's like a six-hour drive. We'll be going up Friday, we all meet up in a pub that's next to the Norby Hotel. We all go out on the lash, then we do all the big events Saturday, and we don't normally make the event the Sunday. It's really good. One year they had John Romero, the maker of Doom, and he got to play against him on the big screen in the competition. It's very good fun. But I will talk about that after the event. I was just saying how good um I tell you normally when you do these solo shows, you've got to try and see if you can make it a decent length of an hour. I'm not gonna have any problem here. I'm already I've already gone off and spit myself into two different rabbit holes. I was just saying how bloody good it is to go away with your friends and just enjoy yourself. But this is a gaming podcast. Unfortunately, I didn't have my Switch with me, and it was for the right reasons. I had fun. It was nice to separate, and from that separation came a good thing. I didn't come back and go straight into Yakuza, um, and I was like, right, I'll give someone else a go. I've got a lot of Switch games, a lot of new ones. Um, but my wife loves when I play Dead by Daylight, she's not interested in anything else, so I have to play handheld or up in the games room in my little gaming dungeon. So I humour her, I say, okay, we'll play Dead by Daylight in the old ball and chain. She likes to watch me play. Um, you can cut that, she likes to watch, and you can insert your um cards against UCP anywhere in that section. Um, if you have got those from a previous winner or competition. Um big thank you to Digital Mun Crap. Thank you to Joel Shaw, whoever sent me a pack of those cards. Absolutely fabulous. If you don't know what I'm talking about, head to the Discord. It link for it is in the show notes. We have monthly competitions, and the prize winner of the last competition um won a pack of basically it's cards against humanity, but it was cards against UCP. I don't know if I'm legally allowed to say that word, but I just did. We might get sued. Then again, we don't have any money. So what are they gonna do? Take our microphones. They can't take my laptop because my laptop's already buggered. They won't want it. So Dead by Daylight. It got a big update, guys, right? It's fun anyway. I've gone on about it before. Um, some killers uh have gone. Uh Hellrise's now gone. The um that's finished. And there is, um, I'll talk about later in the show, there's a a possibility Michael Myers might go. I hope not, but there is a possibility that might happen. Now we've had a big update. Um, so it's like a Thai folklore, um, the Dead by Daylight update. Um, there's a new survivor. Um, if you're in the in my Discord, Marathon Gaming Discord, you've probably heard me talk about this uh to you I'm blue in the face. But basically, there's a new survivor who looks pretty cool. He's got some good perks, who can do some generator repairs, um, she can help heal faster, and then you've got a killer. Now, the killer's very overpowered. Now you may be thinking, what are you going on about, Scott? What talking about killer and survivor? Dead by Daylight is a sort of survival horror game, but it's multiplayer online. It's an online only game. What that means is it's not scary. Yeah, don't worry. Triple S, our very own host of the show, um, Seb. He doesn't like scary games. Seb, if you're listening to this, you don't need to be scared, my son. It's not a scary game. When you play a game online, it's more fun. So you've got a team of four survivors, um, and then you've got a killer who's tracking you guys down. The killer has to uh kill you all to win the game, basically. And for you to win the game as a survivor, you've got to work together, repair four generators, which will power up the exit gates, and then you can get the hell out of there. That's the game in a nutshell. Um, there's lots of killers, lots of survivors. It's very well supported. Um, they keep doing updates all the time. I cannot rave about enough. It needs its own dedicated show. It really does. So there's this new survivor, um, there's a new killer. Now, the new killer is very overpowered. So get away from the killer, you do these what you call loops and you sort of run around some of the scenery. And when the killer gets close, because the killer is faster than the survivor, you have to sort of vault and use your obviously, you know where you're going, they don't. They're trying to predict where you're going, and you've got to make sure you're going the other way. So you try and lose sight of them, you vault over something, you throw a paddle down. Now you have these little small loops which can frustrate some killers, uh, especially myself, because I'm not very good. And I'm playing it on a switch, and graphically and speed-wise, probably not the best place to play it. Now, I've played it on Xbox, I've played it on Steam, I've played it on PS5. Why am I playing it on the Switch 2? We don't know. I mean, I don't know the answer to that, guys. If I don't know, then you're not gonna know. I might have to see see a therapist at some point for my Switch addiction. I even thought of do I even need a PS5 and Xbox? I haven't really played them. I brought them both. It was this, it was about last autumn it was, yeah. About last November, I brought both of them and I've barely played them. Really have. I might be the year before that, actually. When did Spider-Man come out? I think that was two years ago. So then about two years, barely played the bloody things. Um, but yeah, so it was a big update on there. The killer's very overpowered, it can do a fast fault, which no killers can do, it can get around loops very quick, and basically it's too strong. But what's weird is they've used it in testing, and it was strong in testing anyway, and then normally it gets what you call a nerf. Is that right? A nerf? I'm talking to myself, but I think it's a nerf, and they haven't, they buffed it instead, so they've actually contributed to its strong points and attributes and made it even bloody stronger, which is just out of order, um, to be brutally honest with you guys. But if you don't play Dead by Daylight, please get it. It's on every console, it is so fun. Just get it, and then I think it's crossplay. I'll play with you guys, I'll hold your hand. I've got hundreds of hours on that game, it's the most played game of Switch of all time. Um, it might be my most played game of all time, who knows? It's um I think it's bloody fabulous. If you've played Friday the 13th, it's like that, but it works. Friday 13th was a better game, in my opinion, but it was broken, unfortunately. Um, but yeah, that's what I've been playing. We'll leave it there because um there's lots I want to tell you guys about. So, what else have I been up to in the gaming world, you ask? I'm gonna tell you guys that. So I've been selling lots of um overloved games on vintage, and I've built up quite an impressive switch 2 collection uh with physical cases and everything, because I like my code in the boxes to look nice. Um, I know I've already showed you guys and said in previous show, I own DK Bonanza, Cyberpunk, Madden Hitman trilogy, Street Fighter 6, and someone in Discord told me Street Fighter 6 is based around Yakuza, and that makes sense because it's like an RPG open world game, and it is like a poor man's Yakuza. Yakuza Zero and Guardians of Azuma, which is the ruined factory game. Now that's a lot of games, isn't it? One, two, three, four, five, six, seven. That's like seven Switch 2, exclusive, well, not exclusives, anything but exclusives, physical games. Now, I've ordered two games today, guys, on the day that I'm recording this. Um, Hogwarts Legacy. Why do I do it to myself? I haven't played it on a Switch, I played it on PS4. I thought it was graphically well, I played it a PS4 version of the PS5. I thought it was a beautiful game, really enjoyed it. I'm not the biggest Harry Potter fan, my wife is. Um, but I thought, you know what? I do want to own it on the Switch. That's the collector in me, unfortunately. So, and I probably will start a new save. I think you can cross them over, but I didn't get too far. So I brought Hogwarts Legacy, and this one I'm really excited for. George, if you're listening, I've done it, mate. I've took the plunge. Star Wars Outlaws. And I'm actually really excited. I wasn't bothered when I found out it was a stealth game, because I'm not bothered about stealth, but then I contradict myself because I brought Hitman Trilogy. So maybe I like a little bit of stealth. Maybe Scott likes to sneak around outsides while you're eating dinner and peek through and watch you eat dinner. That's a Fiovan joke that I just butchered. Um so yeah, so I brought two new Switch games basically. Um, so I I need a week off to play them all. Obviously, I'm a bit balls deep in Dead by Daylight, and I can't seem to um be able to remove my body um from that crevice of Dead by Daylight. Um I've been really enjoying as well hearing everybody talk about their journey to Don Donkey Kong Bonanza. Um I had it at I brought it on it was quite funny, wasn't it? Uh George asked me if I watched the um direct, or we'll talk about a direct shortly as well, a new one. He asked me if I watched a direct on it, and I didn't at the time, and I said, you know what, I want to get the game anyway, I don't need to watch it. And then after the show, I watched the direct and yeah, I got the game, and um I loved it, but I just went on to play Yakuza, I think, just too soon. Um, as soon as I got stuck, I thought I'll try another game. I never went back to it, and I'm I can't wait to go back to it because so many people have said such great things. Um, and what was really interesting is some of these Nintendo games, right? They drag you, they drag out the hours of it. It it's like a 30-hour game, but it could have been 20. Luigi's Mansion's very guilty of it. You do everything, and then it just makes you go through the floors doing the same things backwards, you know. It's a bit like Mario Kart giving you the the mirror cup, it's just a track in reverse. Do you know what I mean? It's a bit of a um a bit disappointing, a bit um not enough thought in it, really, a bit lazy. So apparently um there's many hours in this game, lots of collectibles, hundreds of levels, and when you and Les, um, and you can just go around smashing things up, but there was a you know it does take a fair amount of chunk of hours. It's a good 30 or 40 hour game, I believe, um, if you do everything. Um, and everyone said it's really good. So when it gets to the point where you think you've had enough, it just keeps switching up the gameplay. Apparently, it changes things. I don't so no spoilers, but I've heard things happen which keep you wanting to play on. And I know a few people, um, I've got a few friends who don't complete a lot of games, and the fact they both said the same thing and completed it. Well, three of them actually, all three of them have completed the game, and they don't normally complete games, and they literally said it's a very surprising Nintendo, it just kept you going, it's really good. And apparently they've announced DLC about a week ago as well. So that's great news, I think. It's not a free DLC though. Again, another cop out. So I'm looking forward to getting back into that. Um, and there has been another game released this week, guys, and that's today of record. Well, I've I've just ruined the full fall. I'm recording this on the 25th. I've just ruined it for you, but you're not gonna listen to this the 27th. You've seen from my smoke and mirrors. I'm sorry, George. I messed up, but I'm gonna carry on because I'm a true professional. Right, so on this day on the 25th, Hades 2, guys. Hades 2's been released. I didn't even notice. I've been looking forward to that game to come out on Switch about two years, because I think it's been on bloody Steam for about that long. I'm sure Seb played it two years ago. I mean, I know he's got all the bro codes and all that, so he's got all the inside knowledge, but yeah, it comes out. I'm in a bit of a predicament, guys, because the physical doesn't come out till November. I've waited this long. Do I wait till November for the physical? So I'm gonna want it physical, or do I buy it twice? I think I ended up buying it twice on the Switch 1, because I think it was the same thing. I got it digital and then a month later it came out physical. I hate it when I do this. I don't know what to do. Um let me know, guys, if it's really I know the thing is I know it's really good. So I've got enough to play, Scott. Do you know what? I might pre-order it and then wait as long as I can. Because what we're in, we're in September now. It's one month, isn't it? By the time you've listened to this show, we're basically in October. Um and then it comes out in November. Do you know what? I'm gonna wait. What else has been happening? We have had a Nintendo Switch direct, what was the main bits? We had a new super Mario Galaxy movie for April 2026. Uh, Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 game is coming. A lot of people actually predicted that, to be honest, because of the uh Mario anniversary, 40th, I believe, just around the corner. Um so yeah, not really massive surprises. People enjoyed that direct as the first proper Switch 2 diary. I didn't really enjoy it that much, to be honest with you. I feel like I've had too many directs. And saying that, we've got another direct coming, apparently, a Kirby Air Riders direct, which we do not need. We had an hour-long one, and I defended it as much as I could, and even I didn't watch it all, I watched half of it, and I'm a big Kirby Air Riders fan. Um, it'd be interesting to know if that GameCube game goes up or down in value with the back of this release in, but it's a new game, so I guess it won't affect the price. Maybe it'll go up, who knows? Um, there's a new Mario tennis game, Mario Tennis Fever coming out, which is good to know because I love Mario Tennis and Mario Golf games, but the Mario tennis on a Switch, to be honest with you, mate, I sold it. Or to be honest with you, mates, there might be more than one person listening. Who knows? Mumsy might be listening as well as Nancy. Um, God forbid Elon and uh Pastor's listening together on that rocket. Um but yeah, Mario Tennis. I didn't I Mario Tennis Aces, I got it at launch and then ended up selling it. I haven't even got it right now. But yeah, Mario Tennis Fever, I always give them a chance, all of those Mario sport games. I haven't even played enough of the Mario Chargers football. I was so excited for that, pre-ordered it, got the poster and all that nonsense. And I didn't know what was going on. It was like a really complicated FIFA. Bearing in mind we have a lot of football in this country and we grew up with football games. I didn't have a clue what to do. There was too many mechanics. Right, I think that's enough of me waffling. Shall we go through some news? Um, I've got some bite-sized news. I don't know how we're doing for time, I don't know how long I've been waffling for. I think about 15 to 20 minutes, so I think we're on track. Alright, I've got some news for you guys. So on the 24th of September, a tweet was sent out um from Sonic Racing Crosswelds, stating that Mega Man will be joining across over Journey, which is cool. There's a lot of Mega Man fans out there. I'm not one of them personally, um, but I know most retro heads do love Mega Man, especially older games at least, anyway. So, yeah, there was a tweet. I've got a picture in front of me. Um, it's from Stealth. Nintendo update Mario Kart World. This is a really good update with the map fixed somewhat. I might go back. You can now join Friends, play Knockout Tour by selecting friends from online play, one player. Up to two players can now play Free Roam while waiting. Now that was tweeted on September 24th, so that is an imminent update. And a lot of people are saying there's not enough of Mario Kart World, and I kind of agree, even though it's loads of characters, and they've added a new game mode, uh, which I keep bloody forgetting the name of every time I'm live on air. Uh, I'm not going to try and explain it because I've forgotten again. But yeah, there's a new game mode, isn't there? The open world's a bit rubbish. Um, and there's plenty of tracks, but I feel like they need to release two more characters and a track and two or three tracks. And can I be honest with you guys? I think they need to every month just release one or two characters and a track. Because how hard is it? It's not hard, is it? Get an intern in Mario, get a photocopy, boy, get James from the UCP photocopy, boy, and just get him to do it. Because he'll do it for free. Do you know what I mean? There's people that will do that. Because that's what they did with um Super Smash Bruv. I was really picturing the game and I couldn't think. And I was thinking, am I making this up? I'm picturing Kirby and Mario just throwing 16-ounce gloves on, no caution to the wind, just throwing down hands, rumble in the jungle, baby. Um, but yeah, that game. They've always added characters to it. I'm wondering if they're gonna have to have um similar for for Mario Kartworld, basically. Um so yeah, sorry, I've crossed over two stories there, so I've probably confused anyone who's listening. So two separate things. So basically, we've got an update to Mario Kartworld, and then we have got um in Sonic Racing Crossworlds, Mega Man's joining, basically. Sorry, I read one article and I started reading the tweet that I photocopied in front of me. Photocopied, how old do I sound? Get your pager out, Scott. Beep bip bip bip bip beep. That's mumsy. Um so that's with that. Some more bite-sized news for you guys, because that's what I do when I'm on my own. I deliver bite-sized chunky news. Um, what does everyone think about the virtual boy, first of all? Does that come up in a direct? And let's be honest, it's just gonna sit on the side, isn't it? As an oversized amiibo. Let's be honest about it. That's how I feel about it. I mean, is anyone really gonna use it for more than 10 hours? Unlikely. I'll use it once, try out the games that's on there. It's clever money making, it definitely is, but it's just gonna sit there. Anyone I know who's brought, it's a bit of a growl for people. They buy it, they buy it and then it sits, it takes up space. It's like when you get a collector's edition for a game, you get a big statue, and then you think, Christ, where am I gonna put it? That's what I think anyway. Um, right, here's something for the PlayStation guys moving away from Nintendo. You can now buy portable speakers from PlayStation compatible with a PS5 and PS Portal. Now I'm gonna open up the link where I got this information from because I've got no idea what that's about, to be honest with you. I don't know if there's a market for it. It looks like some sort of USB-C. Um, my laptop is so slow, I opened the link before I click recording and it's it's still loading. Um, so you might have to take my word for it. No, okay, it is loading up. Right. Let me go. This is uh article that I've got in front of me. So Sony PlayStation revealed its very own set of wire. The speakers called Pulse Elevate. Among other features, these new PlayStation speakers are designed to work with multiple kinds of devices with low latency AI technology. Oh, AI technology, do we need that in our lives? They look very nice actually. It looks like um it looks like an actual PS5, like a white PS5 or a black skin on it. For most gamers, audio is a huge part of the game experience. Everything from gameplay sound effects to sweeping music, how I play choose to hear sound, on the other hand, is completely different matter. Low-quality headphones or speakers can bury some important elements with games, audio, blah blah blah. Now I'm not sure this appeals to because I mean most people play with a headset if they've got a plate. This doesn't make sense. If you've got a PlayStation portal, I plug headphones into it. Do you not plug headphones into it? Like a normal handheld? And then if you've got it on a TV, um, you've got a soundbar. Granted, uh, you know, it's good to have surround sound, but I don't know. During a PlayStation state of play, a new speaker collection called Pulse was revealed. These new speakers are wireless. Thank bloody God, it's 2025, not 2000, not 1985. And are designed to work with PS5 family of gaming consoles, including the PlayStation portal as well as PC and Mac devices. These speakers are designed to deliver ultra-low latency audio to ensure there's no lag between what one sees and hears. We've built in woofers for base and support for Tempest 3D Audio Tech on compatible PS5 games. PlayStation describes new speakers as being able to play back audio. I mean, it's just describing a speaker. This is nothing special. Speakers can be tilted to ensure that audio is orientated and best heard where a player's located in the room. I mean, they've just made their own. They might have seen a gap in the market. Everyone's got a sound bar, no one has surround sound anymore. So maybe it's reminding people. I'm not going to read the whole article because it goes into a lot of nonsense that you and everyone knows how a speaker works. It's got Bluetooth, of course it has. Um, and it's got a USB-C connector. Um, and it's easy to recharge, apparently. It's AI. It looks very smart, actually, guys. Maybe check that out. Maybe check that out. Is it out now? Is the information we need. No, the speaker's released in 2026. Why are we teasing a speaker? As if that's gonna make someone go, oh, do you know what? I fancy going to Xbox. Oh no, no, no, no. No, Mr. John Roy. Do not go to Xbox because if you stay a PlayStation in four months' time, you can get a surround sound speaker. I'm sure there's compatible speakers. Terrible idea. No, maybe it is good. Right, let's close that down and see if we can get some more bandwidth. Is bandwidth a thing? I don't know. I've said it, so it must be. Um, right, on September 8th, guys, get this date in your diary, 2026. Christ, we are promoting games this far away. What has it will come to? Do you remember when you used to pick up a magazine and it you'd read it and it would say out now? Gone are those days. September 8th, 2026. Get the game in your diaries. Halloween the video game. Now I wanted to bring this up because I loved Friday the 13th game. I loved Dead by Daylight. And now, Halloween game. I talked about this previously, but I think it's been put back from what I hear. So, from what I know, it's copying a lot of stuff from previous games. So with an announcement that shows off horror icon Michael Myers and reveals a release date of September 8th, 26th, despite the excitement of seeing the classic movie Monster starring his own video game, players have to wait a while for the upcoming game in this historic Halloween franchise. There's some big uh changes I've heard as well. Um, some people aren't happy about it with the law, but I think it's true to the law, so I don't understand the problem. Basically, it's a mechanic where you can like shape shift and go almost invisible to appear up at the right times. Obviously, he doesn't go invisible, but in the movies you can't see what the camera doesn't see, so he just appears, doesn't it? It's a film, guys, it's not real. Do you know what I mean? He's not gonna just he's not gonna terminate it where he walks and just appears in front of you. It makes zero sense. So they've done that to allow the um it to be realistic kills, so you're constantly cat and mouse being chased, a bit of a threat. So shocking audiences with an unstoppable killer whose legacy still endures this day. Followed most recently with 2022 Halloween ends. I'm a big fan. And Michael Myers has been a pop fit addict to video games over the years, making recent appearances of Navaria games that range from Call of Duty to Fortnite. How dare you not mention Dead by Daylight? While the full season is a great time for horror movies and their related video games, Halloween's grand reveal shows that it won't be available to play till September 8th, which is almost a full year away. God, don't remind me. The game developed by Ilphonic, that sounds sick, will be presented in an asmoterical multiplayer survival horror sandbox style, with one player taking a role as deadly killer, hunting down the others. Players have the options, players want or several civilian survivors working against a killer. Oh, this sounds very similar uh similar, doesn't it? But save their own skins won't be enough as they'll also be tasked with leading MPC civilians to a safe place, finding a working telephone so they can contact police. Exactly the same thing as Friday the 13th. I think they've seen a gap in the market here, guys, and they just took the idea. I don't want to read on because um do you know what it might be better than Friday the 13th, but nothing beats Jason Voris, does it? I mean Michael Myers or Jason Vorres. I mean, I don't know who I'll want to tuck in bed first. While survivors will have more defences that will keep the infamous killer at bay, they still have a severe disadvantage. Um be able to take one knockdown, blah, blah, blah. Um, it's just talking about how he's going to kill you, basically. And then Laurie is the lady, isn't she? Um, oh, here we go. There is concern among the fan base that Michael Mayers may be removed from Dead by Daylight. I said that earlier, which follows a similar gameplay premise. Similar, but I should think so, it's exactly the same. Um that's exciting, isn't it? If you love Dead by Daylight and you love Friday 13, that's right up your street. And if you're not interested in Dead by Daylight, you'd play that and you might go, Oh, I like the genre. Um, but basically that game's been put back in a nutshell. So it was obviously wasn't ready. I mean, they keep putting games back. No one even cares anymore, do they? They put GTA back a year and no one everyone's went, oh, cool trailer. It's like a money making scheme, innit? Imagine they took pre orders up front and could cash in. Um what other bits of newsy pooies have I got for you guys? Um, oh, some sad news. Sad news for gaming Xbox Fans. Three games are being removed from Game Pass this month. Well, there have been already, actually, by the time you hear this, because it's as of today. Um, in a rare move, Microsoft has revised an existing list of Xbox Game Pass removals, stating that September 30th, oh not yet, departures will be less numerous than originally announced, as things currently stated. Only three titles are set to leave Game Pass at the end of September 2025. Right, don't be upset. It's fine. Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, Ninja Gaiden 3 at Razor's Edge. And they only brought them out because we had a new game, didn't we? So actually, no, they were added in June 2022. Those three games are disappearing. I don't know if that's going to affect anyone or upset anyone. But now's your chance to play them before they go. Um Nintendo Switch. Oh, I got back there pretty quick, didn't I? I threw my boomerang out, gave you some PlayStation Xbox news, and I caught that boomerang straight in my teeth. Nintendo Switch Online adds two GBA classics from Namco, and to be honest with you, not that exciting for me, I'll be brutally honest. Um, Game Boy Advance, we've not had any updates, I don't think, online for about a year. But it's added um Klonoa. I struggle. Is that saying that well? It's meant to be a very good game. Klonoa Empire of Dreams and Mr. Driller 2 to its content catalogue. The Namco published classics are the first Game Boy Advance titles to be added to the Western version of Nintendo Switch Online since April 2025, if I stand corrected. Nintendo originally expanded its NSO offering to GBA games back in February 23. The GBA Classics app initially offered nine titles, with 15 more of them added over the next two years. Continuing its trend, Mr. Driller 2 and Kanoa Empire of Dreams reached Nintendo Twitch Online earlier today, September 25th. Fourth wall's been broken again. This catalogue update nudges the NSO GBA library beyond its I thought I'm saying gang signs, beyond its largely first party lineup, as both the newly introduced games are published by Namco. Mr. Driller 2 was also developed by Namco, whereas Kanoa Empire Dreams is made by Osaka-based new production known for co-developing GameCube Classic, such as Sonic Riders and Mario Superstar Baseball. I've never played that. Forgot about that game. So if you don't know, Kanoa's a puzzle-based platformer, guys. It came out in 2001. Um, it's a 2D side-scrolling game. It was very highly acclaimed. It just came at a time where there's a lot of good games like that. Um and Mr. Driller, um, that is an Ultical Plaza from 2000, and basically you drill through stacks of colour blocks either with the goal of reaching the target level or chasing a high score by going as deep as possible in endless mode, and the blocks themselves uh come in various colours and stick to others of the same colour when falling, adding complexity and strategic depth to Mr. Driller 2 gameplay. That's those games in a nutshell. Um, I feel like I should tell you more about Klonoa, that's a bigger game. Um, so what can I say about that? What can we say? Um you've got a melee attack, um, you've got a double jump, you can bounce off of enemies. Rattling my brains here. Each level requires collect let's read it, it'll make more sense. Each level requires collecting three stars and finding an exit. Ooh, optional collectibles, also part of the experience hidden throughout every stage. Sounds like a poor man's Donkey Kong bonanza, if you ask me. Um so that's what we've got. But the expansion packs cost about 50 bucks a year, don't they? I don't even think I've got full access to um online services anymore, being brutally honest. I think I uh cancelled my subscriptions, which I need to get back on. Um what else have I got here for you guys? Um I believe Game Pass has um has added some games though. So there is some games added to Game Pass. I always do like to go through game releases with you guys of what's new and upcoming. Um so I'm about to share those with you now. I'm just gonna check, I've not missed anything else that I wanted to tell you guys. I think that's most of the bite-size news. So before we move on, let's go on to this. So this is updated again from September 25th. So um Game Past. Oh my god, it's added Peppa Pig World Adventures um mana to its content catalogue. I can't be finishing the news section with that, can I? Pepper Pig. I know what you're thinking, Scott. Did you not look at this before? I think I've got the wrong link. Oh, there is more games. Thank God. I'm not gonna read that. Pepper Pig World Adventures. Do you know what? You might be a young audience. I don't know who listens to us. I don't get the stats. I'm not privy to that knowledge. I don't know any of the information that the big dogs have. I am just their rent boy. I do what they say. So we've got Pepper Pig World Adventures, we've got Visions of Mana, um, we've got Terminal Brigade. These all come out September 25th, by the way. Lara Croft and a Guardian of Light, City's Skylines Remastered. Disney Dreamlight Valley. Do you know what? I've heard good things about that. It's like a farming game. And with all the Disney lore. Let me know if anyone's played that who is an adult and not the kid that's played it. Because I actually thought that looks quite interesting, and that's quite cheap on the Switch. Warhammer 40,000 Dark Tide, that's pretty cool. Little Rocket Lab, Soapola Tower of a Stolen Potato. Is someone making these games up to get me to read them out? I'm not sure if that's a real one. Ball X Pit. Sounds like a Friday night round RGTs. Keeper, Ninja Guid and 4. Oh, I see what they've done. Day one release, baby. Moonlighter 2, The Endless Fault. Uh no, these are old. Hold on a minute. I've gone past. Right, I've done all set Skyliners Remastered was that's October. Disney Dreamlight, that's October. Little Rocket. Right, Sundays of September and October. Um I feel like Outer Worlds 2, Football Manager 26. No, these are future. I thought we had a Ninja Garden already. Is that another one? Am I reading our old stuff? Ninja Garden 4. Let me know in the um. I feel like I'm losing the plot. Let me know in the Discord, guys. Call of Duty Black Ops 7, November 14th. Am I going back in time? Have I pulled up an old article? I don't even know. That's what you get. You came for a professional podcast for professional gaming news, and what you left with was a middle-aged man, spalding, bit of a belly. I'm on a diet, have you know? I'm on a very calorie deficit diet. I'm gonna be honest with you guys, I'm struggling. I am massively struggling. I am a good thousand calories in deficit, plus some exercise in each day, and I look in for a secret and a spoiler. Swimming, not a problem. A gentle jog, not a problem. Two, three miles. Anything more than that, horrific. I've tried the tricks, teaspoon of honey, teaspoon of cashew butter. Like it is impossible. Absolutely impossible. I die at the third mile. I can't do it. So I went for a little nine-mile jog today, and I had to have a slice of toast with some peanut butter on. I'll tell you what, it's only 150 to 200 calories, I think. I'll tell you what, I felt like I had a roast dinner. It was complete opposite. I was like sluggish. I guess my stomach shrunk. So maybe next time you see me, I'll stand to the side behind the microphone and tell me. I'll get those abs pending. I've got a personal trainer, his name is uh he's ripped. You might know him from the Discord. You you know I'm talking about. You know, and speaking of Discord members, ripped returns and the likes of them, um, it's comes this comes to part of the show where I I thank everybody um who does kindly donate um financially to the show, um, which basically gets put back into the show. Um I've never seen any money, um, but I believe it gets managed very well because there's lots of gifts and t-shirts and prizes and stuff um that gets thrown around and flyers. It helps to promote the show, keep it going, and things like that. So um, and you can stop anytime, you can join anytime. If you do want to join, uh there's different tier levels, comes with different perks. Um, there's like the top perk, you get like quarterly Zoom meetings and stuff like that. And it actually gets you gets to be on the show, to be fair, because the last time that's happened, it went down as a show. There was a big quiz. Um then you also get a bit of merch when you get a t-shirt sent to you, or maybe a mug, get like yearly merch, things like that. I think the lowest tier gets you um what does it get you? I think it gets you in a young glorious chat, like a special members only chat. I might be lying. If I haven't, I've promised it, so you're gonna get it. Sorry, George. Um so yeah, it's a different tiers. You can check them in, they're in the show notes. Wherever you're listening to this podcast, it's on all uh platforms, but say you listen to the Spotify, click on the show notes, and uh it will be on there. Now I've got a a revised list. I again I don't have the information because I'm just a red boy, as I said earlier. But I've got a list from 6th of September, which was sent in a group that I'm in, and it says at the top, we've got Carlos, so thank you to Carlos, the one man fan club of George, of course. Um firm returns, and I do know what his ripped returns, he's not even firm. His bum cheeks are firm. I'll tell you that, and his chipolotta sausage, that is firm when pounding around and some walks in the in the room. Trestles, New York, big thank you to you. Rose Space Monk. Um, big shout out to Badabinkster. I love Badabinkster. Um Badabinkster, if you're listening to this. I don't know if I've told you in a Discord. We're going to Pinball World a few of us on Sunday in Harlow. That's not too far from you, probably an hour. Pinball Club, I think it's called. Anyone's listening to this. If you're near Harlow, fancy coming down Sunday. I think we've booked tickets for the morning one. I've never been before. Uh everyone is welcome. But Bannabinkster, I need to meet up with yourself. It's been too long. Um, it's criminal of how close we are to each other. Tingle uh tuner, big shout out to you. Digital Muncrey. Um, I am gonna unfortunately I I think Digital Monkey, you said you can't make uh X Play Expo, Blackpool. Um I bumped into you there last year. I mean, I've seen you lots of times, different events, which have been great. But it'd be really good to see you, my friend. Um, if you can come. Um, I think there's room in Retro Ed's car. Retro Ed, if you're listening to this, I've just offered a seat from your vehicle. I hope that's alright. And I'm sure there's room at the end when we get there. Um big shout out to Boba, big shout out to Ginge. What a legend, Ginge is. I mean, I need to stop bigging him up because he probably uh he's probably got a restraining order. He's probably told his wife to like lock the doors. He's a big guy, but he's probably scared of me how much I've gone on about him. I've got a ginge fetish, which is a category of pulling up you don't want to check out because it is um, of course, George's redheaded stepson. Hope you don't get your head stuck in the washing machine. Anyway, where are we? Harvey Retro, big shout out to you, big shout out to Emma Sharp. Um she's always on the world tour, and um, she's a good friend of RGT who said she's got a lovely games room, is what he told me. Nowhere near Berlin. Um big shout out to you. I'm not even gonna I'm not even gonna argue with um, I think George summed it up purposely. He's not there. Mumsy, big shout out to Mumsy, she's always listening. Big shout out to the RG fan club. I don't know who that is, actually, RGT fan club. It could be his missus, couldn't it? I don't know if you'll ever know the answer. Big shout out to Pete Brocklehurst and Billy Marmite. I have Marmite with my eggs every day, and I think of Billy. Simon Pryke, big shout out to yourself. Um we've also got Rose Space Monk. Um now, I know I haven't done much of a play on words in general with um with these because it's hard on your own. You look like a right fool. But I just feel like I can't let a the I can't say these words without having some sort of orgasm. So I'm just gonna go ahead and say it. That's a genuine cough. Hold on a minute, let me oh right, hold on a minute. I hope that hasn't made anyone crash their cars. One second. I'm sipping beverage of choice with Pepsi matched cherry, and here's something I digress on. No alcohol for me today. I went five, I need to say five years, I went five weeks soap of alcohol. Five weeks. Do you know what happened? Nothing. I slept a bit better, yeah. I didn't get as stressed, I felt better in myself. I was able, I did all the things. I went to comedy clubs like I normally do. I went to pubs to see friends, I did all the normal stuff. I quite liked waking up fresh, being able to drive home, not relying on lifts or public transport. But I didn't lose any bloody weight. So if you are sitting at home thinking don't want the extra calories, don't worry about it, because nothing happens when you don't drink. Kids, if you're listening to this, grab a six-pack. No, don't do that. Do not do that. Anyway, I've um I've bit enough time. It's time to chew. Fat san de f I don't know what accent that was, but I thoroughly enjoyed it, and it kind of burnt the back of my throat. Um, so that is all the lovely um members who support the show. Thank you to you all, and you can come and go whenever you please. Um, but it is greatly uh appreciated. I myself, before I was a host of the show, I think I also contributed as well for a fair amount of time. Um, it's fun to do so, and I I give to other other things myself as well. You want to show your support because you don't want it to disappear, do you? You want to show your love. So I completely understand that. Um, so thank you to everybody. Um, but you don't have to, it's just optional. The show is free for everybody to listen to. And even if you um you don't financially support the show, guys, please get in a Discord because it's really fun. I think we have had a new person join the lot since the last show. Um, it's just great banter in there. I've got my own Discord as well. You're more than welcome to join that. Uh you can head to Marriott Gamer on YouTube and all my videos. There's normally a link in the description of the video, but you normally have to click on the latest video because the link expires after a few days. Uh, last time I did a video, it was about five days ago, so it could have already expired. You might have to wait for a new one. Um, so this is part of the show where I say, what do I hope to play? Now, as soon as I turn this laptop off, I'm gonna make some soup because I'm hungry. And then I'm gonna play Dead by Daylight. Um to be honest with you guys, I still need to sort the games room out. Um, I'm not happy with it. There's still a lot of things to sell. Um, I'm being very tight because I could give things away, I could sell things very cheap and get rid of things very fast. However, there are financial struggles with things, you know, like we all have. I'll just have to um it sounds like this sounds like a first world problem, but I've just had I've just bought flights yesterday to go see my dad for New Year's. Obviously, family's important, he doesn't live in England, so um that's important to us. Um so we spent money on that. So anytime I can make money to you know contributing to games, it's it's great. Everything I've sold, I've put towards my Switch 2 collection, and we've saved lots of money doing that, so it's been really good. I have a bathroom sore in a part upstairs. Don't know if any of you guys have been to my house, but the house is bloody falling down, the garage is leaking. I mean, this isn't a rant, I know it's a gaming podcast. Um, but yeah, what I'm saying is I need to sort the games room out. Um, so I've got a mega drive cart. You might see in my Discord group. I have got a all in one. I fell for it, it's only four bucks. It's a Sega Mega Drive bootleg cart. Actually, I'm gonna show you, I'm gonna tell you guys about that because I've got a picture on my phone. I don't know what's on it, right? Because it says it's a four-in-one, it says it's got X-Man, Chase HQ2. Right, this is what I was interested in it for. X-Man, yes. Chase HQ2, yes. Big up Retro Ed UK, it's one of his favourite games. Rambo, yes, Mr. Pine, don't know what that is. Right. Those are the four-in-one games, but then there's six pictures on the cartridge, right? This is why I love bootleg games from China. There's six pictures on it, not one of them has that game. Actually, no, I'll tell you. Flintstones is on there, not on the list. Streets of Rage is on there, not on the list. Streets of Rage 2 as well. Fatal Fury's on there, because I recognise the Terry on the front. There's a soccer game on there, a Looney Tunes game on there, and there's a picture of Rambo. So I've got four games that's meant to be on there, there's six stickers, and five of them are different games. So I'll probably do a video on that because it'd just be hilarious, and we'll try each game. So that's probably the only bit retro game that I'm gonna do. Other than that, do I buy Hades guys? Do I want to play that this week? I really don't know. Um, but I'd love to know what you guys um what you guys want to play. That's what I like to know. Um, and do you know what? I like to add a little extra bits to the show before I sign off. Um so do let me know uh what you've been playing. There is a section for that. I just want to say, I saw a tattoo of someone's leg in a Discord the other day, and it blew my mind. It was of so you can see sexy fires in our group. It's a man's fire, but you might be into that, you know. All for that. Um it was, but I can't find it. Back to the future on someone's leg. And it is the most incredible piece of art. I showed my wife it and she said, that looks like AI. I said it's not because I I know that man, and he would not lie to us, and it is absolutely beautiful. Um like you're into tattoos and other stuff. The Discord is a place to be. I'm gonna plug the Discord because it's been a while since we have. We've got a section for general nonsense where we just have a little chat. We've got a section of what we've been playing, and then people tell you what we've been playing. Someone right now, Carlos, is playing at Space Marine Mastercrafting edition. So that's what he's been playing. We've got Stingray section, that's a throwback to two series ago where Stingray would uh be doing some swaps. Digital Monkey loves the Rocky Horror show, that's what's going on in there. Um, some people have got some Dreamcast games, screenshots and clicks. That's like Badabinkster's home because he plays a lot of racing games and he takes his pictures, they are so good. He fought me once. I thought he took a picture of his car outside his house, and I was like, it's not snowing in Essex. Um, we've got Culinary Delights. I'm not very good at the English language. You wouldn't think I was born here, would you? Um my god, RGT has just posted a picture of a hot dog, and I'll have to leave it there because we'll get censored. I don't know what hot dog that is, one juicy hot dog RGT. You shouldn't be getting it out on the table like that. So, yeah, there's lots of fun stuff on there. There's a pet section, there's movies, and I love talking about movies. Me and my wife see a lot of movies. The long walk is out as well, and if there was time, I was gonna waffle on about the movies that I've seen because I've seen a lot lately, but I might save that for another show. I might keep this one short and sweet. Um, so basically, yeah, that's uh what I'm hoping to play is some more Dead by Daylight and just being my bloody self. Now I'm gonna try and cap it there. So it's a bit of a shorter show um this week, um, just about under an ear an hour, but I'm sure that will get one of you to work on your commute. I don't know. I mean, is everyone signed on these days? I feel like I'm the only one going to work sometimes. It's just me lonely. And then I hit traffic, then I go, no, everyone is at work. Yeah, I hope you guys are happy gaming and all that jazz. Um, and just remember, it doesn't matter if you're given the unofficial controller. It's uh what you do with it that counts. See you later. Bye-bye.
