PS5 Prices Rise Again And We Ask Why
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
PS5 prices going up this late in the generation feels wrong, and we don’t sugarcoat it. George and RGT dig into Sony’s newly announced PS5, PS5 Pro, and PS Portal price increases, what’s being blamed (tariffs, supply pressure, RAM demand), and why it lands so badly when players already feel the squeeze. If you’ve been waiting to buy a PlayStation 5 or wondering whether a PS5 Pro is still worth it, this one is for you.
On the gear side, RGT brings the week’s most practical upgrade: the Lenovo Legion Go S, a SteamOS handheld gaming PC aimed at entry-level buyers who want Steam without the Windows hassle. We talk screen feel, controls, ergonomics, fan noise, battery life, charging speed, and why a simple login-and-play experience matters. Then it’s back to what we’re actually playing, from Bang Average Football to the strangely addictive Easy Delivery Company, a PS1 style delivery sim with real survival management tension.
We also hit the wider platform mood: Xbox retiring the “This Is An Xbox” marketing campaign, what that says about brand confusion, and how cloud gaming should fit around consoles, not replace them. Finally, Hades 2 news brings some joy with bonus content and quality of life improvements on the horizon, plus we share details on meeting up at OLL in Norwich.

Welcome And Opening Banter
SPEAKER_03Hello and welcome to the Unofficial Controller Podcast, your weekly gaming podcast, episode number three hundred and eleven with me, George, and this week joined by RGT. Price decrease to my price explosion. Um how's it going, RGT? And more importantly, listen to you. I'll definitely message you in the comments. YouTube, like, subscribe, all that good stuff. I've always wanted to do this, RGT. But regardless, the fingers to the subscribe, which won't be there, right? On the phone, zooming in on my fat head, and uh moving on with the lives. But uh, yeah, here we are. YouTube sensations um PewDiePie's quaking spoops. How's your week been, Fun?
SPEAKER_00It's been good. Yeah, been busy. I always I know we always say that. It's been busy, but behind the scenes we're getting ready for OLL, so been plenty going on behind the scenes there, and uh, yeah, something look forward to now. Only a couple of weeks away, so uh yeah, it's gonna be good. Um I'm glad, so glad ORL's back. Um you know what?
SPEAKER_03I've uh got a little treat for you.
SPEAKER_00Have you?
SPEAKER_03I have I've got some Hades treats for you. And the listeners, so there'll be a little bit of something there for them. Just so you know. I know you liked it, and I thought, well, do I save it or do I tease it with him now? This is the man that opens up a master system that's destined for Christmas in June, completes the full master system library, and then throws a parapet at his mum because this console just stayed good enough.
SPEAKER_00I mean, you you might have embellished on that a little bit, and that's quite not what happened. It wasn't June, it wasn't the full library, and I didn't have a wobbler, but no, I did open it early in play it, yes. That is a notorious story.
SPEAKER_03I I bet you never knew then that you'd be tormented some 40 years later about that one mistake full of all living days.
SPEAKER_00No, God no, no, but here we are.
SPEAKER_03Karma's a bitch.
SPEAKER_00Certainly is. I deserve it. Keep giving it to me because I deserve it. I mean the master system comment. Before you said system, I was like, mate, you this was your redemption arc.
SPEAKER_05I need to do it.
What We Have Been Playing
SPEAKER_03Welcome to our controller podcast. You're definitely not listening to our sister show flashback right now. Um but let's steer it back on target a little bit, just a little bit. RGT. Yes.
SPEAKER_00What have you been playing? Um pretty much two games this week. One of just about smart. Was that my yeah? Um bang average football is just about 99% done.
SPEAKER_03I've just got to do actually I'm I'm glistening because I think there's something else coming, isn't there?
SPEAKER_00Give it to me. Give it to me.
SPEAKER_03Mass forward, baby. Give it to me now.
SPEAKER_00Just you just calm down there. Oh. Come on. You just chill there. We'll get there in a minute.
SPEAKER_03There's actually quite a lot to discuss, isn't there, this week for you.
Lenovo Legion Go S Breakdown
SPEAKER_00There um two games, but it's a new bit of hardware because uh let me as you can see on this week. As you can see on the screen, there is no smoke for Iceland at this computer because I've changed what I play Steam on. Um, because I have myself a Lenovo Legion Go S handheld gaming PC now.
SPEAKER_03Well, look at me in my relaxed position here.
SPEAKER_00I was gonna say, I'm sorry to wake you up.
SPEAKER_03What has become of you? Why may I be as brutally unclassy as to ask you the purchase price?
SPEAKER_00Um, it was£450. Yeah, I know.
SPEAKER_03Okay. How much is this what you do these days?
SPEAKER_00Probably about the same, isn't it? I would imagine. Have you rented your wife out or quite and if business keeps going like listen, I might get a Steam Deck and I'm gonna?
SPEAKER_03I mean, that's one question I've got as an outsider not knowing anything, if I may. I just want to get some of these questions out of the way that I'm sure the viewers and listeners will be having. Steam Deck versus your what did you call it exactly?
SPEAKER_00As a Benovo Legion Go S. So a lead uh just a Legion Go S.
SPEAKER_03So how does that compare to the what is has become the industry known bastion of handheld PCs? How does it compare to a Steam Deck?
SPEAKER_00Um specs-wise, it's slightly better than the Steam Deck, slightly bigger screen. Um the reason I went with it is because I've got a Lenovo laptop, which is exceptionally good as far as I'm concerned, very, very good. And I thought I might stick with them because the build quality that's always really good. So I've I've been researching a lot on what one to get. You can get Lenovos which are a thousand pounds. These things are super powerful, mega handheld PCs. I thought I'm not I'm not going in on that. I just want to go in what's the best entry-level handheld PC. So you've got a Steam Deck, you've got Lenovo, but the Steam Deck's getting on a bit now, it's three, four years old, the tech's a bit older. So technically the Lenovo's more powerful, it's got a bigger screen, it's got all effects sticks, so you ain't got to worry about your analog sticks messing up because it's got a big system to fix, so it's got all effects sticks, and it's got nice little touches like doesn't really really affect me, but if you're into well, that might do, but if you're into first person shooters and you play online, obviously you've got your proper triggers, you know, on on the back, so for your driving games are really good. But if you're into first person shooters, there's a little switch you flick up at the back and it makes that a button for shooting. So you've got little touches like that, it's got a little diddy mouse pad on if you need to use it like that.
SPEAKER_03But I presume that's just a physical interference, it just stops it coming all the way back and registering that first travel as a button. That's not a good one.
SPEAKER_00Um screens fantastic. Graphically, I'm blown away by it in a handheld. I sort of looked at what sort of graphics you would compare it to, and it's a lot of people saying it's not far off what a PS5 would be. That's better than a PS4 Pro. Um, it is quite amazing. What are we thinking?
SPEAKER_03Series S.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I'd say, yeah, probably. Um interesting, definitely, I think a 120Hz screen as well. Um, and also it's I I spoke to my friend at work who's really into his Steam Deck, and he said, try not to get a Windows machine because there's a lot going on in the background, so it affects your battery usage, power drain, blah blah blah. Try and get a Steam OS machine on Linux. So this is the only Lenovo which uses Steam OS rather than Windows, the rest are all Windows. So I got this one because I'm not me and you are not tech savvy when it comes to PC, are we? We quite openly admit that. So this you turn on and it says log into your Steam account, put my Steam account details in, done. You're playing. Simple as that.
unknownWow.
SPEAKER_00That top button on the left brings up your Steam menu and your power menu, top button on the right brings up your settings, so you can change your frame rate and your blah blah blah, your brightness, and then the sticks glow up, and you can change like the RGB lighting to your sticks so you can have them on different colours or lower the brightness. I know, I know it's it's gimmicky that. Looks like close encounters.
SPEAKER_02What's that place?
SPEAKER_00Rendlesham. That yeah, that weren't that weren't a UFO in Rendelsham Price, it was me. Yeah, that was just up the road for me as well. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03You've told them where Farmerton is.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, well, yeah. Um it's a bigger state. Yeah, very big. Um, about a third of the country. It's and I'm yeah, and I basically wanted it to. There's so many people I follow on YouTube who are playing these indie games or new games, and they're always coming out on Steam first. I thought it'd be so handy if I can have a go on these games and relay them back to the show.
SPEAKER_03Question. Yes. Is this gonna push the Switch 2 out of circulation, much like it did for Seth?
SPEAKER_00Um, I don't think it'll push a Switch 2 out of circulation because there's still games. The Switch 2, in my mind, is still a great handheld console.
SPEAKER_03Um you do a cloud slave transfer to the Novo Novo if you starge you.
SPEAKER_00I don't know actually, I haven't looked into that. Um, I don't really want another Starge account. I'm quite happy just to play that on the Switch. Um but I will also say it's very it's very, very comfortable. It's very comfortable. It's it is way more comfortable than the switch.
SPEAKER_03Describe it to me in terms of ergonomics. Is it portal like? Does it have the ergonomic inverted horns that you grab onto, or is it more switch, like a flat pad?
SPEAKER_00I should have thought ahead and brought it in here to show you already, shouldn't I? But anyway, it's very unprofessional of me. But how far away is it? Um, yeah, I can't get it. I'll trip over leads and stuff. Um, so it's it's basically got rather than trousers, are you? It's it's no, and it's it's got the grips on the back, so you you you you feel like you're really gripping a controller.
SPEAKER_03Um the analog makes a big difference, that yeah.
SPEAKER_00Analogue sticks are fantastic, buttons are fantastic, triggers are fantastic. Um the only thing that worries me about it is the fan can can be not noisy, but you know it's on, and it's got a fan port on the top and some on the back, so I'm always a bit worried about leaning it on my leg if I'm overheating it. Seems though you need to keep it up right. That worries me. But I might be wrong with that, but it's just I'm a bit skeptical about the tech.
SPEAKER_03Um, but other than that, I haven't felt that with a switch to be honest. If you were laid down in bed playing it and you just had it on the duvet, you could. But what else are you meant to do?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah, exactly. So I'm a bit with that, but other than that, um, it is heavy. Sometimes you'd have to move your position a bit. It's a big old thing, to be fair.
SPEAKER_03Um more reason why you'd want to put it down on your t-shirt, your belly, your chest.
SPEAKER_00Exactly.
SPEAKER_03A pillow.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Um but saying that one thing.
SPEAKER_03Have you seen that tech gimmick called the I think it's called the gaming chair. Now bear with me, because I know you're like the gaming chair, George, but it's this circular cushion. It's like a gaming cushion that's got like a a ground out the top of it.
SPEAKER_00Oh no, I was thinking of something else. No, I haven't seen it.
SPEAKER_03And you kind of put your heavy handheld console on it and it does the heavy lifting, so then you can just gently put your hands on it and play it. So it's been designed around some of these heavy, heavy uh handheld gaming devices that uh in sustainable. I will I need to find it. It came to me on like a Doom scroll somewhere, and I even I laughed and thought, is this real? Is it actually is this real? Then I went on YouTube and saw some reviews and was like, okay, people saying this got this has got legitimacy. I can't ever imagine a time where I would use it, but you've just described a time and a place where this actually may have some sense. So yeah, you sat on the uh in the back seat of the family motor, or you're being driven to some sunny holiday destination in the UK, Bobina Regis, as an example, and you're sat there with this kind of bulbous mass between your buried deep in your crotch region with this kind of probiscus coming out of it holding your gaming thing, a couple of wireless earphones in. You're happy.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, exactly. Yeah, no arm make for RGT.
SPEAKER_03So certainly not from gaming.
SPEAKER_00Anyway, I tested the battery life, um, and that was roughly about three and a half, four hours. So I thought that's pretty good.
SPEAKER_03I just thought the the the picture pick I hadn't noticed that you were wearing that top before, and I just thought the picture pixelated and then sort of glitched on your arms just the logo.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00Um yeah, so about four hours. Um what else I was gonna mention something else in that's gone.
SPEAKER_03Battery life, four hours charging time.
SPEAKER_00Charging time is very quick. Right. Um, from from empty. Um it's like 15-20 minutes that will charge fully.
SPEAKER_03Does the battery life and I'm expecting this to be the answer vary obviously depending on the graphical fidelity of the game?
SPEAKER_00I would imagine so. I would imagine so, yeah. One thing I did notice, which I think is a brilliant bit of tech, I was I was showing this as RGT the screen, and I had my my settings up on the side, and the brightness bar kept moving, and I realized it will auto-brightness to where the light is, so it'll always keep you in. Yeah, which I thought was quite a nice little bit of tech.
SPEAKER_03Did that affect you? Did that bring you out of the game though, with it kind of flicking up and down all the time or not?
SPEAKER_00No, because it'll it it's just literally it's not something that just keeps going all the time. If you're just sitting there playing, that's fine. But if you suddenly turn your chair and you go into the light, it will it will slowly adjust the brightness. Oh, nice, yeah, and the same in in in the dark room and that it would just slowly adjust it. If I walked around the house with it and it was just slowly moving as you went in different rooms to try and keep it an even sort of brightness, which is quite good. The speakers in a are very good, uh a lot louder than a switch too. Very good. Um, I mean, you only need it on half volume, and that's plenty loud enough.
unknownWow.
Bang Average Football And Nutmeg
SPEAKER_00Um, so yeah, overall, very pleased with it. Um it's just handy to have that a steam machine there to play Steam on if we need it. If people you know, if listeners are asking about games, quickly download and you know, and and have a play. Um there's some good offers on Steam as well, and you get the early access and stuff. So if there's anything you think I should play, let me know. Um, obviously, bang average football. I've been playing that. I thought I'd finish till Captain Scarlet sent me a picture of his finish screen. I was like, oh, how did you get that then? He's like, Oh, you have to do all the challenges. And I was like, Oh, I've got one challenge left to do. But I've won all the cups, won all the leagues. Fantastic little game for£10.
SPEAKER_03You've literally rinsed it in a week, though.
SPEAKER_00It's not a very big game, 10 10 to 15 hours. You've you've done all you need to do in that. Um, but you can play as a male or female character, so you can go through again if you want, it's different settings and the characters change as well. So that's that's a nice way of doing it. But great little game. I thought that was really good. I'd that's what I didn't realise about the male and female characters. I was talking to the captain, and I said, Oh, have you got that end screen? He went, Oh, you have to do all Helen's challenges. And I was like, Who the hell is Helen? And he was like, Oh, Helen lives in the hut on the beach, you know, the one that missed the penalty. And I was like, No, that's Colin. And he was like, Oh no, my game is Helen. So I didn't realise that they'd change the names depending on you know who you pick and how you play. Yeah, but I didn't have any glitches, any problems with the game for a game that's not been out that long. Very well made. Um, just a great little experience. I would have liked more of the RPG side. You're very limited with how many. Yes, yeah. Nutmeg is downloading as we speak. Um that came out yesterday, and I've been following um well, there you go, Secret Node on online. They've got a YouTube channel, they've been playing it on YouTube.
SPEAKER_03So I see they even wheeled out Jim Rosenthal for the last advertising.
SPEAKER_00Yes, so um, yeah, I'm gonna play that next. Um, yeah, we need to get you guys on, by the way, if you're listening. That'd be great to get you on. Yeah. Um, very welcome. Um, but yeah, so that'll be next. Um, I've also been playing a game that we've been talking about, George, and I noticed that was on there and it was I don't know what I paid for that. Eight pounds, I think.
SPEAKER_03So not only did you go deep and spend 400 plus books, you've then been walking through the Steam store like a freaking cowboy shooting everything that you see. How many games have you bought then, Thaler?
SPEAKER_00Two. Well, now the third one is not Meg. So I've been making sure I play the games first before I build up this massive backlog that I'll never touch. You you know I wouldn't build up a backlog that I'm not gonna play.
SPEAKER_03You're an animal, you're very systematic in your completion of games and acquisitions.
SPEAKER_00Oh god, yeah. Yeah, I haven't got games sitting on my shelf that I've never touched in Cellophane.
SPEAKER_03Nope. You wouldn't, you wouldn't, you couldn't, you shouldn't.
Easy Delivery Company Deep Dive
SPEAKER_00No, exactly. Um, so I downloaded Easy Delivery Company, and I've put about four hours in now, I suppose.
SPEAKER_03What's the lay down, Captain?
SPEAKER_00Um when I first started playing it, I was thinking, what the hell is going on here? I thought I'm gonna persist because you you load up the game, you get your little K track, which I will before I start. Graphically, I think this is stunning. That PS1 graphics that running on, I'm running on obviously on my Lenovo, and you can boost the graphics up so it's lovely, clean PS1 graphics, but they add this little texture warp, and they even add pop in in. They don't need to add pop in, but they've added pop-in in to give you that little feel, and it does feel and looks very much PS1. They've nailed that, absolutely nailed that. Um is this PS1 Snow Runner? At the moment, no.
SPEAKER_03Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_00Is it like it gives me the feeling of Snow Runner, but it also gets there's when the characters talk and they have that sort of you know that always reminds me of another game, and I cannot think what the game is. Simps no, I can't think what it is, but you start off you're in this small map in this little town, even the even the map is on a spectrum, a sort of spectrum map, and it doesn't show you where you are. So you have to you have to learn that map and know where you are. Now I'm bombing round, that'll say go to the easy pizza house, and I'm just like, yep, don't even look at the map, I know where to go, follow my route. But you you you get this that says pick up first mission, pick up from easy flowers. You go to easy flowers and you get out of the truck, go in there, you talk to the character in there, they give you the flower, you put it in the bed of your truck, you have to open the bed, put it in, close the bed, get in the truck. But this is more of a management survival game than it is as well as much as a delivery game. Oh so you've got temperature you've got to worry about. So if you start the screens start coming in, you're getting cold, you need to get in somewhere warm, which is either your truck or a shop. You've got your energy to deal with. So if you're running out of energy, you need energy drinks, otherwise, you'll pass out and collapse. And you have fuel in the truck, so you have to make sure your truck is fueled up, so you have to make sure on this big map I'm on at the moment, there's only one petrol station, that's quite a while away. So you have to factor all this in, and then to further the get for to further the main missions, you have to do deliveries to earn enough money to unlock the next bit. So at the moment, I need to get to my cabin. I haven't got to my cabin yet, so I've needed to get a lighter. The lighter was$29.99 from the shop down, so I had to earn enough money, but you think, well, that's easy. I'll take this job on as 30 bucks and I'll have the money. But then you'll get and finish that job and think, oh, hang on, I need fuel. You'll fill your fuel up, and that's like 30 bucks, and you're like, oh, hang on. So I need I need to manage that and it and I'm low on energy, so I need to buy the drinks, they're five bucks each. So you have to sort of when you've got money, grab drinks as you go into your itinerary, so you've got plenty of those, and you have to mix it up as you go.
SPEAKER_03But I'm having similar resource management issues with cans.
SPEAKER_00Ah, yeah, so this is quite tight with what how you do it, but the the getting to the gameplay, the truck drives fantastic. That's great fun, this little pickup, and it's forgiven. I mean, I had to deliver. There was one I had to go to Easy Pizza and deliver like 30 pizzas stacked up in the back of my truck. And I thought, oh, can't I strap them down or something? How I anyway, first bend, 15 of them are gone. And I'm like, oh no. Next bend, couple more. Ended up with one pizza when I delivered to the place. But when you take it out of the back, all 15 are back, I said, don't worry about the stuff falling out, you've got them all. That's very forgiving like that. But that does this weird thing. If you pass out when you lose energy, you go into this weird dream isometric tunnel where you just keep walking round until you come round again. That's really odd. It's really like Twin Peaks, sort of odd, when you do it. Oh, I know. Yeah. But graphically, it's really good, it plays really well. It it's tough. I think you've got to put the time in to manage your resources. Um, but once you learn the map and where you're going, it's good fun, it's quite relaxing. You know, the sun goes down, you flick your headlights on, and away you go, driving in the night, delivering these, you know, and some of them are a bit repetitive. You know, you'll deliver down to one, start a new job, you've got to go back there, pick it up, take it to there, start a new job, go up to there, down to you know, it can be a bit repetitive, but I'm just trying to get enough money to move on to the next map at the moment. Um, but very unique, very good. Um, really enjoying it. I'd definitely recommend it if you're into them sort of PS1 looking sort of management sim games, they're a bit strange sim games, give it a go. It's definitely worth it for that sort of money. Do you think it's out on PS5 now, is it?
SPEAKER_03Or is it well um depending on your current sort of setup, you'd say it's it's not much money. I mean it costs you 448 pounds.
SPEAKER_00There is that. If you've already got if you've already got a PC, you're fine. You're fine. That's gonna cost you eight quid. But yes, if you haven't got one, it's a very expensive indie game. Yeah. I mean, I I need to play it to the maximum.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I was gonna say that's a real niche you've got in on there, mate.
SPEAKER_00Um the only other thing I've been playing was my hidden gem, which I got this week. So, other than that, what you've been playing, young man. Right. Well, let's keep this brief.
SPEAKER_03I had a I've been very busy.
SPEAKER_00Oh, good. Should I do the hidden gem then? Or is that too brief?
SmackDown Vs Raw Comfort Gaming
SPEAKER_03No, no, no. No, you don't. Is there any oxygen for me anymore? No. Okay, I'll keep it brief. Uh so I had a little go on SmackDown versus Raw. Um, that's my happy place at the moment. Just playing that season mode to me with the little cutscenes that you have and whatnot.
SPEAKER_00Is that this too?
PS Portal Cloud Streaming Surprise
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it's just a joy. It really is. Um the season ended, I think, and then that'd start again, and that was a bit disappointing, but because I thought that one continually ran on, but it doesn't. So that was a bit of like but my my my characters all started up, so when I started again, it was all very much a lot easier to me. So it was like, okay, I can do all this. A year in this person's life is no issue. Um I also last week we talked about some updates for the PS uh PS Pro uh or PS5 Pro and the portal. I tried them out. The one thing I want to focus in on is the portal. Has now become people were using it as a standalone device before, I'm sure. You know, they didn't have a PlayStation 5. In fact, we know this has been happening. And people have been getting a portal, getting PlayStation Premium Plus or whatever it's called, and they've just been using it in that way, cloud streaming games. This is a real this is something that's totally possible now. Really?
SPEAKER_00I was wondering if that was just gonna be something that didn't really make that much difference.
SPEAKER_03But it did make a difference to me. Wow, you know, mileage may vary, right? I've always struggled with it in the house, in this particular house, the problem's gone away. It's never a good streaming experience. From the own from the own console, as soon as I made that selector, the console shuts down and starts again. Um one thing I've noticed that when I've had the screen up, if you're not putting any inputs in, it will drop the latency goes like out the window. As soon as you start picking it up and going, Yeah, I can't play any load into a game, I've noticed the latency's absolutely spot on. So I don't know, and when I pause the game, it went out the window again. When I unpaused it, it immediately went back into like playable status. So I don't know what's going on there. There's some trickery of some sort. It's like, okay, we don't need to be pushing it now because he's on pause or he's in the menu, PlayStation Host menu.
SPEAKER_00You need it, sort of thing.
SPEAKER_03It feels that it really felt that way. It really did. Um, which I appreciated. I haven't noticed that before. You just normally see it just bob down and then get more bobbed down when I've been struggling with it. But now I noticed it kind of tighten, and then at moments when I was actually inputting, it widened up. I was playing the game, streamed Ghost of Chosima from my own console. Looks fantastic on the portal. Looks so good now. 1080p max setting on. Um a hot type of.
SPEAKER_00I did hear rumours that there's um gonna be a portal pro, but whether that's true or not, I don't know.
SPEAKER_03But yeah, I've heard rumours of the LED screen and some other sort of like the the edge controller sticks, and yeah, I mean there was rumours they'd put a hard drive in on the back, but I don't know about that.
SPEAKER_02What use would that be?
SPEAKER_00Just for so you could download the games and play them natively off the hard drive rather than talking about that that's a very different bit of kit, then isn't it really? Yeah, it is, yes, yeah, definitely.
Getting Stuck And Pushing On
SPEAKER_03So I don't think we'll get there with the within the prices at the moment, but maybe the standalone version that's rumoured to come with a PS6, maybe. Um, but Cloud streamed uh Spider-Man 2 as a as a just to see what it was like. It's been a while since I played it. Honestly, mate, the magic now is it feels like it's in the console. Before, to me, it felt like you were carrying around this porcelain connection to the internet. Should you sneeze or whimper, it would crack or shatter and you'd see the spinning wheel, you'd be out. And even when it was working well, when I was at Rachel's and I was streaming from home to there, and I would sit and play it for eight hours solid, no issues. I was always in the back of my mind, oh Crikey, better not sneeze, sniff or Trump, President China, um, or this thing may falter, stutter, pixelate, whatever. You know, they always fought with it a little bit. Again, still early days, have had nothing but a great experience with it so far. So very pleased. I played can through portal, uh, as the really only game I've poured any time into this week. And it's that resource management scenario. Yeah, I've gone back to a save, I'm still stuck at what I call the wall of death, basically. I think I've crawled across every square inch of this precipice looking for a way up and over and round and just to somewhere else. Just something different now. Uh I've watched her hanging unconscious from the rope. I've seen her tumble. I mean, I'm not getting very good luck with the weather. It's constantly, as soon as I get to like a point of like being exhausted, but quite close to where I need to get. Boom. Lightning. And the weather effects are actually too next to the room.
SPEAKER_00So I suppose the rain makes the rocks slippery in that just super slippery.
SPEAKER_03I've fallen onto the ground, I've taped up my cup hands to give me more grip. I'm out of chalk, I'm out of food, I'm out of water, I'm out of literally everything. And I do not know how to push forward. I now need to face the ultimate fact that I've wasted far too much time on what could be considered a bit of a broken run. I'm I'm pig ignorant though, so I'm gonna give it one thought. Of course I am. Because I've got really far and I'm like be damned if because I don't feel like there's any sort of accumulation mechanics. It's not as I've accumulated more skill to make the next run easier. I think I've maybe accumulated some more climbing now. You know, uh I will go that way the next time, or if I had my time again, I probably shouldn't have come this way. Yeah, that is probably something that would benefit me. I think I took a lot of the easy climbs early on, but I think if I'd pushed myself, I'd be in a better position now.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, see your point, yeah.
Hidden Gem Guessing Game Equinox
SPEAKER_03So like I say, for a 20 quid game that should have been quite through away, it's been my kind of go-to on the PS5. Um I've been quite enjoying it. So yeah, not too much more to talk about, but uh I do believe that you have something for us. I have a Hades gift for you in the news, but you have a gift for me.
SPEAKER_00I have Marx's hidden gem.
SPEAKER_03Now, I did have some music, but I haven't made the pre-selection settings on the way in to allow this to happen properly. So I don't know whether to play it in the background and hope for the best. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00I don't know if that'll pick it up, will it?
SPEAKER_03No, but we've never had backing songs before, have we? So it's just to make it so I can keep up to where I am.
SPEAKER_00You're taking this seriously now, aren't you? You need to hold your headphones or.
SPEAKER_03Why do you make it? I will do exactly what you ask. Why do you make it like I making this sacrifice? Because you made me do this.
SPEAKER_00I've never made you do that.
SPEAKER_03I want a theme tune. I said, I can't afford that. You said I don't care what you can afford. If you want me on here and you want me doing things like hidden gems, I want proper support. I was like, right, what if I sing it? You went, yeah, that's degraded enough. Make it good though.
SPEAKER_00See now, I don't remember any of this conversation. I think you might have made this up.
SPEAKER_01Just sing it now, I want to watch you sometimes I feel like last and alone.
SPEAKER_02No one I talk to on my phone. I want the aisles on C E X, yeah.
SPEAKER_03What you got?
SPEAKER_01Wow.
SPEAKER_00Wow. That was it's you're slowly getting more and more of the song. I'm expecting by the end of this season back in the singers, lotta music video. Bit like um bit like yeah, bit like Peter Kay when he done uh Amarillo walking through Farmerton with everyone stingray behind you.
SPEAKER_03If people want to do this, look, we're on a tube now, we'd go viral.
SPEAKER_00If people that would be hilarious with like OG Tom joins you, and then Scott and me, Seb. I can't write.
SPEAKER_03Have you seen that happening where they're running through and that lady kind of in a wheelchair gets kind of wheeled into?
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_03OG Tom can be in it, but only if he's in a chair and he gets to wheel into the will include it in the clip. Yeah. Promise.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, promise. Fine. Brilliant. Um, right, do you want to play the guessing game? Uh now we're back to planet Earth. Yeah, let's play the guessing game rather than the design of our music video.
SPEAKER_03Um, can dream.
SPEAKER_00Exactly. This is 1994 game.
SPEAKER_02Oh, hey, up sailor. What's this?
SPEAKER_00The platform is Super Nintendo.
SPEAKER_03Is it King Arthur?
SPEAKER_00No, not no developer is software creations.
SPEAKER_03What style of game is it?
SPEAKER_00It's like an isometric action adventure puzzle game.
SPEAKER_02Super Nintendo.
SPEAKER_00It was published by Sony Image Soft.
SPEAKER_03It's not like a firefighting game, is it?
SPEAKER_00No.
SPEAKER_03No.
SPEAKER_00This is actually a sequel to a Nintendo Entertainment System game from 1990. Mmm.
SPEAKER_03You heard me because I know what this is, don't I?
SPEAKER_00Do you? Yeah, you might do. You're a bit of a Super Nintendo aficionado, so you might know this. You might even have had it, I don't know.
SPEAKER_03But I ain't got one of your gems in a long while. I'm like on the ragged edge of this while he tried to sack me.
SPEAKER_00This is a bit random, this one. It is a tough one to be fair.
SPEAKER_03Give me one more, if you can.
SPEAKER_00Um, like I say, a single player only, not multiplayer. Um isometric platformer. It's isometric puzzle action adventure with a bit of platforming in. You'll know the game style when I explained. Look, I'm just yeah. Give up.
SPEAKER_03I do, mate. Yeah, I've got my headphones on. I can't hear a word you're saying, so I I can't guess it.
SPEAKER_00It's Equinox.
SPEAKER_03Off.
SPEAKER_00Do you know Equinox? I'm taking it from you.
SPEAKER_03I know Equinox.
SPEAKER_00Do you have a car?
SPEAKER_03It's got a purple sticker on it, it's got a guy on the front of it, has it not, with a cape? Equinox in red writing.
SPEAKER_00Show me the car. I haven't got it with me. Um, it's a it's like um, yeah, sort of the Equinox is sort of in like stone with orange writing and that on. Um if you haven't heard of it, like I said before, I thought uh isometric puzzle platformer.
SPEAKER_03I've never had it, but I remember gawking at it in the magazines.
SPEAKER_00It's very good. It it graphically, I was very impressed for Super Nintendo. It is it does look stunning. The the overworld map is mode seven, and then you go around yourself and then you go down into the dungeons isometric. If you've ever played games, for instance, like Night Law on the spectrum, or you've played Lumo, which was another one of my hidden gems on the PS4.
SPEAKER_03Oh, it's that way, is it? Is that what you're saying?
SPEAKER_00Yes, it's like that, isometric, like that, with your platform jump, you know, I sort of that diagonal-looking isometric.
SPEAKER_03Um basically I thought when you described it in 1994, I thought it was going to be into the screen kind of sonic 3D isometric.
SPEAKER_00Oh, okay, yes, I see what you mean.
SPEAKER_03Is it mock screens on the c on your TV then? Is it like a room, uh a room with black around it, or is it different to that? Does it fill the screen?
SPEAKER_00Uh yeah, just about fills the screen. So wow. Big sprites look stunning. The way that plays and that is brilliant, um, very colourful. Um there's a mild story to it. They don't tell you the story. You literally start the game and you're in this overworld and you just have to work the rest out. But you jump in the first, you you spawn next to a dungeon, you jump down this dungeon, and away you go. And basically, you have to collect these purple orbs. There's more on each level to get the dungeons, kill all the enemies, and then you can the ladder will come down, you can get out of the dungeon and carry on. The main story is I think your dad's been captured by this evil guy, you have to get all these orbs to clear the bosses, clear the um the dungeons to get your father back. It's a random story. Story really means nothing, and it's just the fun of the game. Um, and you'll have bits like there's different enemies down there. Some of them they will you'll clear a room, and when you go back in a room, it's still cleared. They only respawn if you go back in the dungeon, I believe. Um, but you'll clear the rooms, find keys to unlock other bits, and it it's it's good fun, the combat's good. Um it's you've got uh almost RPG select screen, so you can change your magic to change your weapons as you because you start with nothing, so you build up as you go. Um very playable. Um, every time you exit a dungeon, it's saved, which is a great thing on an old console.
SPEAKER_02Um what are you playing it on though? Are you playing it on Retron?
SPEAKER_00I'm playing it on Retron, but it does automatically save on a cart if you're playing the game on a Super Nintendo. As soon as you exit a dungeon, it will save. Um and it's just very addictive, very fun. You don't feel like you get chucked back too far. You can collect lives as you go with apples, but you can lose your lives quite quick, but you don't seem to go back too far when you do it, which is quite nice for an older game. And it's just that I love it where you have to work out you go in one room, you think, oh well, there's something over there, but I can't get to it because of that, and then you come out, go in the other room, see there's a a lift to go up, to drop down to get these bits. It's great fun, and I think once you collect the proper amount of orbs in each room, is then when you trigger the boss, and then you can fight the boss and and move on. Um is it on Twitch online? Hmm, I'll have to I'll have to find out. Or you can have a look if you're looking now.
SPEAKER_03I'll have a look now, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Um I just think it's very good for the system. Like I say, the graphics, I I was astonished by them to be honest. I thought the way he's animated and he moves looks really good. Um it's very colourful, the enemies are very good, sounds very good, um, and I like the way they've chucked in a bit of mode seven on the overworld. Yes, if you're if you're more of a modern game, a mode seven does look a bit painful on the eye nowadays, but if you see it in the eyes of someone from 1994, it was great for the time, it was amazing. Um, yeah, I just think pick this up because if you if you're clicking for Super Nintendo, you know box games are expensive, CIBs. This you can pick up unboxed£10 to£12 cartridge only. If you want this complete in boxed,£25 you'll get that CIB. You'd probably get a minute for it.
SPEAKER_03Mate, I put it to you, I called that.
SPEAKER_00Yes, I couldn't remember the graphics on it, but I remember the writing, I remember the writing on it.
SPEAKER_03Oh, I called that.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I didn't say you were wrong.
SPEAKER_03Look at the tech that we've got here, share screen. I noticed after all the panic last week as well, the share screen didn't actually work.
SPEAKER_00Oh, didn't it?
SPEAKER_03It was just me gulping at the screen. Oh, you waffling on to fill.
SPEAKER_00It worked on mine.
SPEAKER_03Oh, did it?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I was I was I was watching it, so but have you seen the video?
SPEAKER_03Did it work on the video?
SPEAKER_00I don't know. I haven't watched the video yet, so I don't think so. Um yeah, I don't know why it wouldn't work. Maybe no, I don't know.
SPEAKER_03You know, let's face it, we ain't got a clue what we're doing. No, God's probably the biggest show and game it.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, we're we're recording this on the cassette tape.
SPEAKER_03Um I mean, look at me right now. I've got the light on. Yeah, but it looks like it's midnight.
SPEAKER_00It does, yeah, definitely. I mean, I can't even I can't even make out any features, to be honest.
SPEAKER_03Why is it like this? There you go.
SPEAKER_00There we go.
SPEAKER_03I'm at one with the microphone. This is why the listeners like it, you see. They've always traveled straight to their ear holes.
SPEAKER_00Um but yeah, Equinox, definitely give it a look. Um if you like them sort of old school.
SPEAKER_02So how much one's a blues cart?
SPEAKER_0012 quid if you want a complete 25 quid in box. If you want a minter, 30 pound.
SPEAKER_02That's nothing.
SPEAKER_00Not for a super nintendo game. Um, and it's nice, even if you're just a cart cart collector, definitely get it. Because it's a good, it's actually a really good game. Really good, fun game. And I always try and make these, so they're really good games, but of a very good price as well. So for a Super Nintendo game for 12 quid, give it a go. Yeah, Equinox.
News Intro And Listener Bits
SPEAKER_03Nice spot, another good recommend. That'll be up on the Discord and the website in a timely fashion, no doubt. Uh your eyes peeled there for the lowdown of that, and all the other wonderful games that RGT has brought for our gaming delectation. Um, I've got wrong video again. Um with that all said and done, and thank you, and my virgin in singing career now, literally in flight.
SPEAKER_04Um it's time for the news.
SPEAKER_03We scour the very darkest regions of the internet to bring you the latest stories. First up, um Stephen Telby got in touch this week. I was I was walking the wicket down the canal bank, and he's got a um he's split up with his missus apparently, and he's gone and got himself a canal boat. Uh except it's it's not what he thought, and it's leaking water, and I think his bulge is contaminated. Um, so yeah, we will um well we'll we'll leave that there. But if you want to send your commiserations to Stephen, you know how to get hold of him over at uh push square. But while he was busy bailing himself Imagine if he gets that.
SPEAKER_00Imagine if he gets a message from someone random saying, I'm sorry your build was Well you'd think he'd appreciate it, wouldn't you? Well, yeah, if it actually meant anything.
PS5 And PS Portal Price Hikes
SPEAKER_03I'm sorry to hear that you and your missus have split up, and I'm sorry to hear that the canal boat dreams ended up in a bit of a you know, a bit of a bad way. Um, you know, buy him a coffee or something. Do something decent for him, whatever it takes, I guess. Uh anyway, I see you, Stephen. I appreciate you. I'll be down at the weekend with a you know, probably a patching kit. We'll get you dry, we'll get you warm. Um anyway, I don't know why you put me down these, you know. I don't know why you I don't know why Stephen's misfortune is so hilarious to you. Anyway, in between saving his pride and joy, um yeah. Sony announces gigantic PS5 price increases effective from April 2026. Is this an April Fool's? Uh following a leak about the announcement, Sony's now confirmed it. It will be increasing the prices of PS5 consoles as well as PS Portal. Now, one thing you know these gaming companies do RGT is release the news late on a Friday, so by the time Monday comes around, no one's talking about it. Well, here at the UCP, we fight for you, the viewer, the listener, and we're not gonna let them get away with this. Because guess what? Starting on the 2nd of April RGT, the RRP on the PS5, PS5 Pro, PS portal devices are set to go up quite significantly due to continued pressures in the global economic landscape. There are the current prices, first of all, and then I'll read out what they're changing to. So a PS5, right? Straight out of the gates. 549 books right now, 479 pounds for 549 euros. Guess what? Come April, you're gonna be paying 650, 570, or 650 for the base PS5. Your digital edition, currently, right now, you can pick it up from as little as 499 uh US dollars, 429 Starmer pounds, and 499 Macron ponies. They're now gonna become 599 Trumps down near 600 Trumps, 520 farmers, and nearly 600 Macrons. Then the PS5 Pro gets a little bit more dirty, it's gonna cost you pretty much 750 trumps, nearly 700 farmers, and nearly 800 Macrons. Come the price rise, it's down near 900 trumps, 790 Stammers, and 900 Macron's. But then the portal goes from 199 trumps, 199 Starmers, 219 Macrons, to 250 Trumps, 220 Stars, and 250 Macron's. We they say this. We know that price changes impact our community, and after careful evaluation, we found out this was a necessary step to ensure we can continue delivering innovation, high-quality gaming experiences to players worldwide. For comparison's sake, we've just done the comparisons, but uh the sort of price hiking is unprecedented within the game's hardware. In every generation, the cost of the console has always gone down over time. For PS5, it's been the opposite. Sony mentioned the global economic landscape is to blame, and it can be largely be boiled down to ongoing tariff-related matters. In the US, RAM is now also at a premium. Shortages caused by generative AI companies have driven the prices sky high. The standard PS5 now matches a Series X price in the US, while the Switch 2 is currently available for 450 trumps. Nintendo is expected to increase the price of its console as well. However, and if you're considering buying a PS5, you've only got a few days to grab them. Get yourself over to Amazon in the US or in the UK or in McCrontown and grab one as soon as you can because they've still got the old RRPs listed till the 2nd of April. So whether they're expecting an Easter bump by getting a load of old stock gone because people are terrified that they might need to find another hundred books out somewhere, RGT, or what's going on. And my last bit of framing before I throw it back to you, sir, is Sony have quite famously already made a big crow about they've made more money this gen than they have for all subsequent generations now together and stacked up in a pile. And they still need more money.
SPEAKER_00I think they've mopped up a bit from the others putting their prices up, especially Microsoft has had sort of three three increases. Well, Sony hasn't. So a lot of people have jumped to Sony for various reasons. Um and I think they've cleaned up a bit there, and I just think they're thinking, well, everyone else is putting theirs up. There's cash in. I think also they're saying there's chip shortages, probably is to a certain extent. There's gonna be, not yet, there's gonna be. But I also think they're all preparing really for the state of gaming to come. I think they're they're trying to get as much cash in the bank as they can now because gaming is the landscape of gaming is changing weekly at the moment. Um, I mean, I don't know. This generation, are you the same as me and you've bought nowhere near as many PS5 games as you have PS4? I'm nowhere near, I'm about a third of the amount in the same time.
SPEAKER_03I I've picked up a fair bit, but a lot of it is if I look at my PS5 library, a lot of it came from launch when I bought like the director's cuts of different games and bits and bolts. Actually, when I look at the length and breadth of what I've actually bought and have been actively playing, the window's super narrow, mate.
SPEAKER_00And it like I say, the gaming landscape has changed. I still think, although neither of the big three will admit it, we are in a crash, especially console crash. I'm not necessarily saying PC crash, but console crash. We're we're in we're on the verge of one or in one. Um Microsoft is not sure what they want to do, they're sort of chucking things out until it sticks. Sony have took their finger off the ball with doing trying to do the live service. We've said this a hundred times, I know. Now they're trying to backtrack from PC in bits and pieces. Um Nintendo started really well with a Switch 2, but that's being absolutely outsoldable, PS5 in gangbusters at the moment. So no one's where they want to be, apart from PlayStation with sales figures, but no one's where they want to be or should be. You know, Sony now should have loads of first party exclusives under their belt. They haven't really had that. No, Microsoft should be, you know, Series X should be, and and um Xbox Games Pass should be absolutely bombing it as is the place to play if you're a digital gamer for a service. That's not happening. Nintendo should be still selling Gang Basters as a Switch 2. That's not happening. There's gangbusters. Gangbusters.
SPEAKER_02Couldn't let you get away with it, could I?
SPEAKER_00No, I thought I had for a bit there. Edit that out, Phil. No, leave it in, Philip. Yeah, don't you? Gangbusters, Phil. Gangbusters. There we go. Gang Bastards. I was I've just done that again. I went gangbusters, Phil. Gangbusters.
SPEAKER_03I thought you said gang bastards.
SPEAKER_00No, no, no, no, no. Busters. Yeah. Um, but anyway, it's it's a very changed landscape, and when you're buying one of these three consoles, you're not really sure what you're buying into. It's really strange. I uh the Switch 2 hasn't got a massive library yet. I know it's what a year old, but they seem to be concentrating more. Yes, was it March last year it came out?
SPEAKER_02I think it was.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I think it was about March. Um so they seem to be more concentrating on beefing up the Switch library because there's so many of them games, but there doesn't seem to be too many to Switch to. And not to say Sony, I just although it's predominantly my main console, I don't I very rarely buy a physical PS5 game, let alone digital. I very rarely buy one there. Um my Xbox Series X is probably gonna go. I don't use that at all, apart from playing the older games. I mean, I keep human and hard enough to keep it as a you know to play the older games on, but not it's not as many as you think are on backwards compatibility.
SPEAKER_03No, I know they've said they were gonna reawaken that, but I'll be honest with you. Fair play for having a go, but let's face it, it's a sham.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's not as many as you think.
SPEAKER_03I think if you make the small print, you're skipping home with your random copy of Big Mother Truckers or something, thinking you're gonna be able to play it in your Series X. Well, hold on a minute there, fella, because I guarantee you it ain't gonna work. Big Mother Truckers is actually one of the only battles can be like, all right, fine, I should pick one of the other games of the many thousands that aren't listed.
SPEAKER_00That yeah, so yeah, I don't know. It's I was thinking of this yesterday. I was thinking, I was looking at my consoles, thinking it feels a very strange landscape. You know, PS4. I play my PS4 today.
SPEAKER_03Why don't you bring us up next bit of news? Can we talk about strange landscape? What's going on?
unknownRight.
SPEAKER_00Well, this is over on Pure Xbox.
SPEAKER_03Um, what what did Fraser? What was he he rang you the other day? What was old Fraser on about?
SPEAKER_00Oh, we were saying about the the mix-up with the Disney trip. Oh, what was the fallout of that? Well, he didn't take the curtains.
SPEAKER_02Oh, he didn't?
SPEAKER_00No, it it they had a free bar. It got a bit he went a bit leery on the WKD blues. Oh and then yeah, and ended up and ended up redecorating the curtains, which had to go for a wash, so he didn't take them. The cleaners took them to to clean them out because they were really I mean they were bright blue on the bottom, it properly exorcists them, yeah. So I told him before, lay off the WKD blues, they're rubbish. Just get yourself a beer or something. Do you know what I mean? It's just that blue vomit stains.
SPEAKER_03He could have got away with it if it should have been, you know, hop based.
SPEAKER_00Well, I said if he'd have got the little mermaid suite, that'd have looked like that was part of the set. Had looked like C along the bottom. So yeah, remember that Fraser? Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Next up, anyway, he said the idea of Fraser so so wasted on a Disney cruise that he's pre-booked the Little Mermaid for a suite because he knows it can get away boffing up in there. Absolutely unreal. That's slanderous, you'll go like that.
SPEAKER_00Anyway, sorry, Fraser. He goes on to say.
SPEAKER_02Um what are you saying sorry for? He's got his deposit back.
SPEAKER_00Well, it's true. Um, Microsoft issue statement on why this is an Xbox campaign has been retired. MS spokesperson confirms it's been mixed, um, nixed by the new Xbox boss. God, that's a mouthful.
SPEAKER_02Hey. Ooh.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, let me just carry on. I'll stop you there. Nope. Not on my watch. It's official, folks, following a report earlier this week that suggested new boss Asher Sharmer has directed the scrubbing of this is an Xbox marketing campaign. It's now been confirmed by a Microsoft spokesperson. We don't know who the spokesperson is, AI, but they responded to Windows Central with a very short statement mentioning the campaign didn't feel like Xbox and that Asher Sharma is leading a reset of How We Show Up. Here's the statement. Asher retired. This is an Xbox because it didn't feel like Xbox, a Mocusoft spokesperson explained. She is personally leading a reset of How We Show Up as a brand. If you haven't been following it, this is an Xbox refers to a controversial marketing campaign Xbox first debuted in November 2024, highlighting that you can play Xbox games on a on a PC, on your phone, through the cloud, on smart TVs and various other devices. The campaign was an elaborate one and that's still getting pushed a few months ago. We're assuming Microsoft spent quite a lot of money putting the message across. Nevertheless, it only ever seemed to um aggravate Xbox's most loyal fans, and rumours of its demise recently have been met with praise for the most part. Now it's official Asha Sharma did indeed make the decision to retire the campaign. I think she seems to be literally have she's probably got a whiteboard up and saying, What is everyone moaning about Xbox about and literally tipping off by going back on them, which is a good thing.
SPEAKER_03Let me say this right now. If Asher carries on like this, I will end up wearing a t-shirt off her.
SPEAKER_01Wow.
SPEAKER_03The the you know, the great hope of Xbox because I know I said a week or two ago that all this good news for Xbox, you normally say it's only been XYZ days since their last disaster. Well, we're running at an all-time high right now. Asher has seen us through probably a hundred days of no effort. It's unbelievable. That's true.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_03I know they don't like the channel you said about the whiteboard, you're right. Quick wins. Dash, can this also can this maybe possibly funnel some money back in as well? Because you're paying for ongoing ads. Maybe there's a contract where they've had to just shed the money, but maybe there's an option where they didn't renew. Which is which is a possible, which is great. They may be creative, so all they're buying is slots. Maybe there's some money back for that, which is good news for the brand. Because they're not cheap. And if it's not working, why continue with it? The one thing I'm glad about is and you might be like, oh George, really? That they've not canned the idea because there could have been people that did buy into this campaign that's been running for getting on for 18 months, where they've doubled down on using their smart TV or their cloud phone or whatever it is to be an X be in the Xbox ecosystem. I know we're counting those people probably on this many fingers, right?
SPEAKER_00But they've not walled them off, which is good, they've not had them, which is and also I think where the problem was in general, the idea of being able to, if you're a casual gamer and you fancy playing an Xbox game and you're able to play it on your TV, it's amazing, it's brilliant. The problem was Phil Spencer and everyone turned this into we are this, this is an Xbox, and then the consoles took a backpack. It needs to be the other way around. You need to be a console developer that in the background, if you want to play on your TV, you can. You don't shave at me, that's your main point.
SPEAKER_03Let me pitch the scene for you, right? You're a dad at home, you're listening to this, and you're thinking, oh, Crikey, you know, let's set the scene, let's generalise. Let's generalize stereotype. You're in your 30s. I don't know, if you're in middle England somewhere, Leicester, let's focus say you've stopped, right? You want a gaming device, you can't justify it, you can't you can't find a reason. Have you got smart TV? Answer yes. Can you get hold of an Xbox or a Bluetooth controller? Answer, yeah, quite cheap. Can you get onto Games Pass for a pound? Give it a try. Absolutely you can. This is your way into gaming for I know we said about the Lenovo that easy truck driving delivery game was ended up being£448 actually in the end. But to get on board and start playing games on Games Pass today through a smart TV, potentially Xbox controller, non-gen 40 quid, and then Xbox deal for three months, tenor 60 quid, and you're into a slew of some of the biggest games. So I I've never been anti-it. I just as you said and as Asher has mentioned, it felt like that was all they were about, didn't it? It felt like they'd canned everything, no consoles, nothing anymore. Everything is an Xbox going forward, and that left a 20-year legacy gaming history of gamers that have supported you.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Feeling what? Just completely rejected or forgotten.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. And I think what she's doing here, I think she's doing it where it will be burbling in the background, and their hope will be with this helix coming out that people are gonna go on their TVs, like you say, someone who hasn't gamed for 10 years now has a bit more free time. I'll give this a go. My mate's lent me his Xbox controller for a quid, I'll do Gamespad. Yeah, but he'll end up playing three or four games for a month and go, right, I'm getting a Series X. I think that's their hoping.
SPEAKER_02Hey, I think that's what I mean.
SPEAKER_00No, it isn't, and I think that's the idea, and that's what it should have been.
SPEAKER_03Hey, no, I'll tell you what the route map is. You dick me toe with a series S first. Because you're like, Well, I'm not I'm not into it, I don't own any of the games, but this would allow me to at least download them for when it gets a little bit dodgy with the internet. I want to give you a signal, I've got that satisfaction. I'll tell you what, for Christmas, I'll ask a wife for Series S. Throw away money, easy. Yeah, yeah. And then next Christmas, Series X.
SPEAKER_00They've lost a lot of people from the ecosystem, and I think she's trying to do full circle and gather them people back in. And if if them people have gone to PlayStation aren't going to come back, where's your next market? The casual gamer. Let's jump on the casual game and try and get them into the ecosystem. Well, the lapsed game and fair play.
SPEAKER_03There is the time in everybody's life where they kind of drift potential. Yes. You know, we are the we're the outlier, we're the nerd that never stopped nerding. But you know, some people get jobs, get busy, different hobby comes along, get a partner, have a kid, settle down. If you want, you can marry. Look at me. I am old, RGT, but I'm happy. I was once like you were now.
SPEAKER_00Wow. Um thanks. Yeah, my heart bleeds.
SPEAKER_03Um on the lesson, Mike, you'll know what I just did to you.
SPEAKER_00I know what you just did to me. Um I also think um I've completely lost my track in the form. No.
SPEAKER_03Did I West Life you or did I boys own you?
SPEAKER_00I have no idea what you're talking about.
SPEAKER_03Okay. Well you'll find out.
SPEAKER_00Did you just sing s did you just mention some song lyrics?
SPEAKER_03You'd be Georged up big time.
SPEAKER_00Because I don't listen to either of those, so I wouldn't know the songs. I know one's just a cover band, but anyway, Xbox.
SPEAKER_03Um two of Ireland's biggest exports.
SPEAKER_00I'm sure they are. Doesn't mean I have to listen to them. I like the other beat best export from Ireland, Guinness. Um I think Xbox, this is a great idea, and also I think she's trying to get that get on the side of the gamers for when these fables and bits and pieces come out. Let's get the let's get the the the groundwork done now. So when these exclusives come out, we've got a bit more of a bit more of a support base, a bit more of people who are going to buy, purchase this game. Let's get a bit more love for the consoles, you know, and get it back on track a bit. And so far, apart from her early ramblings and this, you know, this is exclusive, it's not an exclusive till it isn't exclusive, other than that. I think she's she's impressed me, to be honest.
SPEAKER_03I think she's I agree. Are you gonna get a t-shirt as well?
SPEAKER_00Oh god, yeah, I've already got one.
unknownRight, okay.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, you've got to do that. So I'm painting my painting me living room green. Um yeah, I'm all over this.
SPEAKER_02So What's a man of contradictions? Gonna get rid of the Series X.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_02Painting my living room green.
SPEAKER_00I'm on it. Yeah, living room green, Xbox tattoo on my chest, a whole lot.
SPEAKER_03On your chest?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, PS5's dense room.
SPEAKER_03That's a target for Asher to defecate on.
SPEAKER_00Anyway, what have we got up next? Can we are we over to read an outfit? Yeah. Yeah, just eat a little bit.
SPEAKER_02Oh you're just like, no, no, no way. Okay, well let's see what you do with this.
Hades 2 Update And New Platforms
SPEAKER_03Because you wanted news, you wanted a gift, and I brought you it. Guess what? Liam Doolan Guess what he's been up to this week. I'll give you two guesses. First one.
SPEAKER_00Pub Quiz.
SPEAKER_03Close. Second guess.
SPEAKER_00BMX competition.
SPEAKER_03So, so close with both of them.
SPEAKER_00Damn.
SPEAKER_03He's actually been working at his local SEAL centre.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I weren't really close at all, was I?
SPEAKER_03He's been nursing a seal cub back from the edge of death.
SPEAKER_00I wondered where that was going for a minute and thought I was gonna have to intervene on that. When you said nursing a s I was like, right, I might have to cut in here quick.
SPEAKER_03He's been nursing a seal cubic from the ragged edge. He has. Yeah, because he's been finding, he said to me the other day, he said, Do you know what? Gaming's alright, gaming journalism's wonderful, George, but I'll tell you what, I don't get any sense of self-worth from it. I was okay, William. I was okay. What do you think you can do to think I want to volunteer? Either near the coast or go to that seal sanctuary. Do you know what? Transformed it.
SPEAKER_00We're the weird corner of gaming. Yeah, we are in a weird corner.
SPEAKER_03How many episodes are we on now?
SPEAKER_00311, 12, 11.
SPEAKER_03Well, we're either crazy or yeah. Anyway, Nintendo Life, Liam Doolin in his spare time, works for Nintendo Life. Uh, breathing life into seal cubs. Anyway, good for you, RGT. In his spare time, uh, in the quiet hours, he's managed to dig up some Hades 2 news. He's got some bonus. Bonus. That seemed like district, didn't it? Bonus content planned for next month. Coming in a new update. Guess what, fella? Hades 2 developer Super Giant Games yesterday announced it would be bringing the Princess of the Underworld to Xbox and PlayStation platforms on the 14th of April 2026. If you're wondering how this is relevant to Nintendo, well, according to the team, there'll be an update release for all platforms at the same date. As revealed on the official company blog, if you already have a copy of the game, you can expect this patch to arrive on the same date. While no patch notes have been shared at this stage, fans of Switch and Switch 2 can apparently expect some bonus content and quality of life improvements for the roguelike. To celebrate all of this, Super Giant has also shared a brand new animation mixed with some regular gameplay footage. Hades 2 originally launched on the Nintendo eShop in September last year and was followed by a physical release in November. They also included a free upgrade path with performance and resolution enhancements. Hades suit has also received some updates since then, including the addition of true ending enhancements. RGT, you know all about all that. Now I'm hoping you look like a kid at Christmas. Did Santa come early, or did the Easter bunny just ruin everything by you finding her him sleeping with a relative?
SPEAKER_01Wow, that's that's a way to go into a Hades 2's news.
SPEAKER_00Um I think this this is brilliant.
SPEAKER_03I'll be calling this or the ruined Easter?
SPEAKER_00Oh, ruined Easter.
SPEAKER_03Oh wow.
SPEAKER_00No, Christmas.
SPEAKER_02What the hell?
SPEAKER_00Wow. Um no, um I think it's great news. I'll be oh what I I'd like to play it on dual sense. I think that'd be brilliant on the dual sense.
SPEAKER_03Um what have you put most time into it in all honesty so far?
SPEAKER_00Well, Hades 2? Switch 2.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, that's where you've done everything. Because you've got any other you don't know, they go on your yeah, they go on your Lenova or anything, have you?
SPEAKER_00No, no.
SPEAKER_03So you've not broken in any way.
SPEAKER_00No, I've only played on Switch 2, so um mostly in docked mode. I find for that intense sort of games, the Joy-Cons are not brilliant for that. Everything's a bit close. I need a I need a more spread out controller.
SPEAKER_03Were you tempted to not try this when you got your Lenovo just to see what it was like? Yeah, if it would be a good comparison to the Switch 2.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I mean I might do when it comes, it's still sort of 20 20 pounds at the minute, so I don't Oh, is it? Yeah, so once if it get a sale on, I get I've got a watch, so if the sale comes on, I'll um I'll download it and give it a go.
SPEAKER_03I think what would be the trigger point to make you do that?
SPEAKER_0010.
SPEAKER_03Okay, well, we'll find out soon enough, aren't we?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, um, but yeah, I think this is brilliant. I mean, it's brilliant for Xbox gamers as well. Um, it's a great game to have on there, as is PS5. Um the update will be interesting to see what we get added to that as well. Um, I just think games like this that are this good um and this playable, it's just brilliant to have it on everything and and it's gonna be on everything. Um, just yeah, I if you've played Hades 1 but haven't played Hades 2 and you're on Xbox or PlayStation, give it a go now. Get it downloaded and play it because you will not be disappointed or physical copy, whatever you want to do. Get it downloaded and play it because it's hours and hours of fun with this game. So good, absolutely brilliant. Um, I still like I'm still I still play the old school way like I used to do years ago, single-player game, but with your mates, you're tatting turns on runs, keep trying to get a bit further on your runs. This is interesting.
SPEAKER_03I never thought of it like that. I think me and Dickby did that a couple of times, but I know that's how I played the first one.
SPEAKER_00Um but even the first one took me 85 runs to get a complete run, and I don't feel like that was boring in one slightest bit. It was absolutely brilliant, you know. It's like about 50 hours of gameplay until you get to the end, but I absolutely loved it. So well designed. So I think this is brilliant for gamers, you know. If you got an Xbox, get it, yeah, get it. You'll you'll you'll love it. Absolutely brilliant. Have you played you haven't played Hades 2 yet, have you?
SPEAKER_03No, mate, I've not really had. I quite enjoyed the first one, but it's not really Michael Petit. Of all the games that have ever got close to sort of making me think, actually, maybe it's been this, you know, that music in the original, the the kind of gameplay did hook me in. Um, but I drifted from it because it it it's it's not a simulator, is it really?
SPEAKER_00No, no, exactly. Um, but yeah, I think this is great news, absolutely brilliant news. So I'd recommend anyone to play this.
OLL Norwich Event Plans
SPEAKER_03Okay. Well, here we are. Um wrapped up nice and bonny, a little bow on it. Looks pretty. I think we've done a good job there, RGT. I think we've brought everyone a nice trifector of something sexy. I think so. Good looking hidden gem from you this week, Equinox. Thank you very much. I think that looked quite nice. I think you've wore it like a bow tie. Um I've ticked my contractual box to you by doing the sun. Um nice interest in what you've been playing because you brought your Lenovo in. I mistakenly thought that gave you access to every game you've ever owned on it. Obviously, that was a mistake. Um and then we now flow into what I can call the housekeeping section. Um, what have you got for the table here? Because we will we want to talk about an event that's coming up very soon, don't we? If people want to meet us in the flesh, as if this as this is prostitution of video isn't enough. They dragged us off the audio feed to where we've been happy for years. They've brought us onto the YouTube because they want to look at our faces, and now, God forbid, they want to meet us in in real life.
SPEAKER_00Apparently, which is scary.
SPEAKER_03How many number at the time?
SPEAKER_00I'll be honest, you're gonna be disappointed.
SPEAKER_03But we're gonna be I thought you said I am like no, I will not be when I meet everyone. I'll be very happy.
SPEAKER_00No, we will be, but they're gonna be. Um fundamentally. Oh god, yeah. That'll sort of get oh, is that oh geez, okay. Wide berth, wide berth.
SPEAKER_02They might like some of the ephemera.
SPEAKER_00Yes, we're gonna have a nice we always try and do a nice display there, so we're gonna have bits and pieces. Um we've got a little I won't say too much, we're gonna have a little bit of a uh maybe a little bit of a competition going on then.
SPEAKER_03Let's face it, we were gonna keep this secret, but you know um that Jeff Goldblum shot where he's sort of laid back with his chest wiggle. We'd actually got RGT to recreate it, so that's gonna be the back. Well, apparently Jeff's 24 kicked off because we wanted a backdrop. We're in legal wranglings. We will persevere, we'll try and get it. If we can't, if RGT can't get it up on the day, fine, we'll work round it.
SPEAKER_00Anyway, we've got a bit of a competition on the day. Um, so we won't tell you what it is yet. You'll have to come over and see what it's all about. We've got some prizes to give away. Um we'll have a nice little display there. Come and have a chat, come and say hi. Um, you can't miss us. Um, we'll be walking around in the uh Goonies like t-shirts. Um, but yeah, come and say hi. Um might even have a documentary for it. You never know. You never know. Um, but this is um at Epic Studios in Norwich on the 11th of April. If you haven't got tickets, go and grab your tickets over there on uh OLL's website. Very easy to do. Um and it's we've done OLL before. I've visited OLL previously before you know being on the podcast. John always does, John and his team always put a fantastic show on. I mean, I've been to many expos now, and I still think OLL's one of the very best.
SPEAKER_03Um television, we're on tally, aren't we?
SPEAKER_00I don't know about that, but a set of a sort of studios. I don't think you I don't think I don't think you're gonna be standing there next to Violet Berlin and Andy Crane. I get to your hopes up too high. Dominic Diamond's there, by the way.
SPEAKER_02So it's on tally if he's there.
SPEAKER_00What channel? Five. I just completely made it big time.
SPEAKER_03Um nestled between a military documentary and one about heavy haulage recovery. Welcome to channel five.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, go check it out. There's um there's you can get VIP as well, so you can get the after party. They have level up Leroy there. If you haven't seen Level Up Leroy before, he is he goes all over the world doing celebrity shows, everything he's very well known, and he does a DJ set with the video in the background. He'll mix Back to the Future, he'll mix the Goonies music, and he's got all the shows playing in the background. He's brilliant, so the after party is well worth it. Um and it's just a great show from everything from playing on consoles to on on the day competitions to stage bits with Dominic Diamond. Just come and say hi. It's a great day. No, they wouldn't let me this time.
SPEAKER_02Am I going?
SPEAKER_00No, they wouldn't let you this time.
SPEAKER_02Is Scotty going?
SPEAKER_00No, they wouldn't let him. No, no, we're all we'll we'll all be there. So um, yeah. Definitely meaning.
SPEAKER_02Is OG there?
SPEAKER_00Hopefully, I hope so. Is OG coming?
SPEAKER_02Shall we text OG now?
SPEAKER_00Text OG live. Are you coming to OLL? Your your fans want to see you. He won't answer. They want to stroke the game in Barnet.
SPEAKER_03Okay. Alright. You Phil, I'll message.
SPEAKER_00Oh, I thought you sorry, I thought you were saying I was Phil the editor. You Phil, me message.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah. More like a Tarzan type of rapper.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00You Phil, me message.
SPEAKER_03You ought to be grateful to it, call you Jane. Right.
SPEAKER_00Wow, yeah. But yes, so um, yeah, come and check it out. It's in Magdalen Street in Norwich, Epic Studios, 11th of April. Um, I think there's uh Epic Studios fully equipped, so I think there's food and drink and bits and pieces there, including the full bar.
SPEAKER_03Is it the 11th of April? No.
SPEAKER_0011th of April, yes. Um, there'll be cosplay competitions, there'll be game and market there if you want to pick it, get your get some pickup some bits and pieces. I mean, there's like Norwich Retro Gamers there, Norwich Amiga Amiga Group, there's the VR Escape Rooms and Mortal Joysticks. Um, yeah, so there's there's a lot going on there. They're always really well organized, always great fun. Um, there's going to be panels there as well. So um you'll probably have people like Ashens and bits and pieces there. So yeah, come and check it out. Um I think you should be getting a full lineup, they should be disbanded full lineup um probably next week. So you'll see that we're on there and whoever else is going. So uh yeah, come check it out. OLL 11th of April Epic Studios Norwich.
SPEAKER_03Excellent. Yes. I got a bit panicky because I feel like I've just probably randomly booked off a completely wrong.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. You've booked off like 17th of November 2029. Thing is, that's and you'll be standing at Epic Studios in Norwich going, where is everyone?
SPEAKER_03Well the world's ended by that point as well.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Shanger. What else do you bring to the housekeeping table? A bottle of pledge and some gif?
SPEAKER_00As always, but also um go and check our website out, unofficial controllerpodcast.com. I know someone said the other day they couldn't find it, it's a bit hard to find. They were passing on our details to someone else who is interested in the show. Um a guy new years ago and they couldn't find it. I said if if that's the case, because it's a bit down the algorithm, if you put Unaffish Controller Podcast.com in your search engine, don't come out. Put in Unoffished Controller Podcast website and it will come up. So you can do it like that. Um, if you've got anything algorithm, guys, what the hell? Yeah, yeah, exactly. Get this up, the algorithm. YouTube, don't forget, like, comment, subscribe, join in the comments down below. I mean, we always say come and chat on the Discord or we say questions at underficial controller podcast.com.
SPEAKER_03Everyone move the Discord to the comments page, ask each other how you're doing, just just turn that in the latest show's comment section into the Discord. How are you, mate? Yeah, I'm good. Just have the full chat on there. I don't care.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, so we've got we've got yeah, our videos are doing well at the moment. Um, so that's good. We've got uh TikToks doing well at the moment. We're releasing little videos on there, we're releasing YouTube shorts as well. It's been a busy time at UCP Towers. I mean, I think Captain Scarlet has probably blown all the numbers off his keyboard.
SPEAKER_03Do not wake the sleeping audio giant and drag him onto YouTube because it will hunt you down and he'll kill you. The war chest is full. We're coming for you now. Oh yeah.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00Even if if if you're an audio listener and you prefer audio, you're not interested in the video, but you have YouTube, just go and give us a sub. Please give us a sub over on the listen to it in the dark. Yes.
SPEAKER_03Oh no, you know, yeah, turn the screen off.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, something like that.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, close your eyes.
SPEAKER_00Give us a sub. There you go.
SPEAKER_03There's a low tech where sorting it. This is how I would do it, RGT. I've watched it with my eyes closed. That's a video.
SPEAKER_00I know loads of I know loads of I know loads of YouTubers say this, but it's surprising that we're getting so many more views on YouTube. We're not getting the subs. So people are doing it, but they're not subbing.
SPEAKER_03So if you're one of the I mean I think the Hey, if you've listened this far and you're one of the new sort of great and unwashed, do us a favor if you do nothing else, because the show's free. We know you're like to advantage. Oh look, look at him. He's I've met all the Bombay mix, uh, I'm not even ordered anything. All we ask, all we ask is for a like, or dare I devalue myself any further, maybe even a subscriber. It costs you nothing, but you know what? It makes us feel a hell of a lot better about ourselves. Because I tell you what, right now, it it would be super helpful for us.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it would it makes a massive difference getting those subscribers.
SPEAKER_03We've got a big thing going on on the audio, and we would love to be able to replicate that over here on YouTube. Unfortunately, we've got faces for radio, which explains success, and the abject failure of the video. Um, I've had facial reconstructive surgery in a bid to help in some way, and I'm currently in the process of having all my teeth removed.
SPEAKER_00Um and according and me, according to last week, I am roided up.
SPEAKER_03Oh mate, that that you know which is a YouTube short.
SPEAKER_00If you look at the short, that was quite funny because it's now got roid range. Yeah. I looked for some reason I did look very similar to uh the ultimate warrior, which was quite strange.
SPEAKER_03But well, when people see obviously we have a shared bathroom here, and I've seen you popping out on the tripod from the shower. I've got to admit, your body is pretty chiseled, sir. Um yeah, your warrior's got nothing on you. Well, you whip that tail off, and I saw all those veins, I was like, bloody hell, mate. You wanna you wanna sit me down a little bit? Me going after it's a bit hard. Uh all those juices and the rage and the roids and whatever else you're doing in there. Um I I don't want to see it no more. I just want you to kind of relax a little bit, go back to your usual kind of self, a little bit more kind of you know, relaxed.
SPEAKER_00Should we do the subs list?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, you mentioned the Discord or did we rest it? Because we've asked a lot this week, haven't we?
SPEAKER_00We've told you. Well, yeah, just if you ask.
SPEAKER_03No, no, no, no, no, no. No, rest it there.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_03Let's do the sub list. But what are the tiers for the subs? What they're gonna get and how? How's that work out?
SPEAKER_00Oh, you always catch me out on this.
SPEAKER_03Um the tiers are T-shirt, t-shirt, t-shirt. You're always gonna get one of them.
SPEAKER_00Apparently so.
SPEAKER_03Um that's my Georgie bonus right now. If you see right now, you're gonna get a full price t-shirt FOC for three, for as little as three dollars, right?
SPEAKER_00Mm-hmm. Um, but your standard ones you get read out on every show, you get the new thing which we're doing, which was a Zoom call, but we're changing that, and you get access to Unglorious Chat for three bucks. For five bucks, you get those three, and you get a bit of yearly art merch. For eight bucks, you get those four, but you get a mug, and for ten bucks, you get those five, and you get a t-shirt. So basically, for the ten bucks, you get three different things sent you each year with different artwork on, and you also oh, also, because it's coming up to that time, also where we do the yearly merch run.
SPEAKER_02Yes.
SPEAKER_00How would people how would people this year like flashback merch? Let me know. If you want flashback merch, so if you want your mug with flashback on, or if you want your t-shirt with flashback on, or if you want your art merch with flashback on, let me know. And and we can get them as soon as OLL's done, we'll get the run of that. So I'm trying to get in early on that. It's normally April, end of April, we get the merch out. So, yes, let me know if you'd like it.
SPEAKER_03Hang on, do we need a new we're not into a new season yet, though, are we? We don't need new cover art, do we?
SPEAKER_00No, and I don't think we need to be changing that cover art. It's too good. That cover art is too good to change. I think we need to uh yeah, keep keep that for a while. But because we've got the second show, it sounds a bit like oh no. No, everyone's got every video, everyone's got the UCP merch. But for this year, because we always send different stuff, how about we do flashback? Let me know. Comments on YouTube if you're a sub-member, do it on the Discord if you're in the Discord, question Other Fish Controller podcast. If you're a sub-member, but you're not on any of those. Let us know what you think, and I'll go with whatever you guys want. So um, right, we better go on with the subject list.
SPEAKER_03I'm ready when you are, pal.
SPEAKER_00First up, we have the man whose keyboard has been on absolute fire these last three weeks. He's Captain Scarlet. Oh my god, he is releasing videos, YouTube shorts, artwork. He's been helping us get us all up and running with pieces of art for the OLL. Um, thank you. Thank you so much. You have been an absolute legend on this, and uh yes.
SPEAKER_03He's a hero.
SPEAKER_00He needs a persona. He does. He does. But yes, Captain Scarlet, thank you very much. Yes.
SPEAKER_03He needs we need A little bit, I need something about him. I think he's got some sort of superpower. I don't know if he's tapped in. He's oh I'm feeling it. No, I'm working on it. Let me workshop it. I feel like it's he's literally integrated into the he's like the show's AI that runs us, he's like Jarvis.
SPEAKER_01The show's AI.
SPEAKER_03But he's a real bloke.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Because we can't afford AI.
SPEAKER_01He's real AI.
SPEAKER_03I've got an idea. But I can't do an image. Can you do an image for me? Hey, you ask AI to do it and you come back with six cents and three nipples.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Captain Scarlet does it.
SPEAKER_01I look like the Ogma Warrior.
SPEAKER_03Hey, no, mate. Your face sold a million tickets this week on YouTube.
SPEAKER_00I don't know if that was my face. I think we just hit an algorithm. I think we'd have probably done two million if I'd have taken my face off it.
SPEAKER_03No, mate.
SPEAKER_00No, that was your face on here this week, anyway.
SPEAKER_03That one potato was me.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Oh god.
SPEAKER_00That stubbly potato was you.
SPEAKER_03For mash shiking at shem you. That's what I thought when I saw it.
SPEAKER_01Right. Right. What have we got next?
SPEAKER_03Up next, another very skilled member of the community, Retroed, he's another content creation machine. Um, literally created. I mean, all these people are content creators, actually, for us, aren't they? Very much so. But Retro Ed, uh, his most recent video was absolutely belted, so thank you to him. AKA, as is now known by his street tag, Retroid, after OG. No, Seb renamed him Retroid. And I think it's stuck actually, RetroEd, so I'm a little bit sorry for that, Retroid, but yeah. Rename yourself, rename everything, your YouTube, the whole bag of your Retroid.
SPEAKER_00Next up, we have the One Man George fan club, the awesome Carlos. And I will just say, Carlos is trying to sort trains out this on the Discord this week, and I'm gonna be serious for a minute now. This on the Discord this week really made me so happy and makes it all worthwhile because I was just sitting in the background while people are chatting, sorting out their commute to OLL to come and see us. It's for real, yeah. And this problem with because unfortunately, it's the staying near Derby on the day and then not putting trains on for Mip switch. So Carlos is a bit stuck for trains, and then fern returns. It's like, well, I'm coming down from York. If you get to another station, I'll pick you up and we'll go to the show. And I was just sitting there thinking, oh man, this makes it so worthwhile. Thanks, everyone. We you know, a lot of you live a long way away.
SPEAKER_02I didn't know any of this, I didn't expect anyone to come.
SPEAKER_00No, I really appreciate this, and it does make all this work worthwhile. Just seeing people planning their routes and love the show, and it all made new friends and it all coming brilliant. Love it, keep it happening because it is brilliant, absolutely brilliant.
SPEAKER_02Oh, it's happening, isn't it? It's happening.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's been a tough week for me this week, very tough week. But that made me go, do you know what? I love you guys, you're brilliant, you're absolutely brilliant.
SPEAKER_03I've been waiting a quarter of them earlier, and actually, we're much more humble than that. But I was just trying to get everyone a bit reffed up. But actually, we're just two blokes looking at each other, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Lovingly, spend far too much time online each week staring at each other. It is what it is. Brilliant, but yes, thank you, Carlos. I hope we get the travel sorted out, but yeah, be great to meet you, my friend.
SPEAKER_03Up next, there's a man that we famously say, and I do think we need a t-shirt, he's gonna take you from Trump to Trump in seconds, right? You're down on your look, you're not quite sure what to do, and you're thinking about investing. Make sure you pop by phone returns. Not only is he a wonderful man, but he is numerically superior in every single way of any other advice you'll ever receive.
SPEAKER_00Yep, absolutely perfect. Next up, we have Trestles in New York. I was sort of hoping that they might have been doing a wing shot, but the uh OLL, but it's a bit too far for them to come. But yes, Trestles in New York, thank you very much.
SPEAKER_03Oh mate, sponsored by trestles on a on a board sponsored by Silverhook, baby. Jeez, that's what we need on OLL.
SPEAKER_00Other contact cleaners are available.
SPEAKER_03No, no, absolutely not. And may I add, I've also got in from Essential Electrical. We've got the air cleaner. I know other people go chasing coats and free consoles, but I'm big into the console cleaning scene. Genes. I don't know where this was made. Uh someone just blew air into a tin, didn't they? It's probably off the back of a dock in Corpsmith somewhere. Um who's next, RGT?
SPEAKER_00I don't know, it's your turn.
SPEAKER_03Oh, is it? Of course it is. In that case, if trestles have sounded the chicken bell, it's up for me to say thank you to the legend. Absolute legend. Woven into the DNA of the show, it's Roast Space Monk. Thank you, sir.
SPEAKER_00Oh, yes, absolutely brilliant. Thank you, Roast Space Monk. Um, next up we have the wonderful Badabinkster who has been in the background of the show for years now. He always crops up with bits of artwork or helps here and does bits and pieces there. Absolute legend. I will be talking to you, I'll be messaging DM you this week, Badabinkster on OLL. So we'll have a chat about that. Same with Boba, same with DM, but I still haven't heard myself yet. Hopefully, as of this show going out, as of recording, I haven't heard that when this show launches, hopefully, I will know what we've got going forward for OLL, but I will be letting you guys know, all right, and Captain as well. So keep an eye out for that. But yes, as always, Bader Binkster, thank you very much for your launching.
SPEAKER_03Worst case scenario, we can fix that.
SPEAKER_00Yes, yes, yes, we will. Yeah, Bob mentioned that.
SPEAKER_03So forget whatever mate he's on with.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_03This is locked down, this is done.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_03So if that's what I think that's already sorted.
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_00So um but I'll be speaking.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Is that what that lock that down immediately?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, we'll we'll we'll sort it either way. I think we'll be alright, but it's obviously it's getting a bit nearer the time, so we will sort it.
SPEAKER_02Don't you worry about that. Um okay. So it's a shame you get out of Binkster, because it means I don't get to speak Italian to him.
SPEAKER_00You can give a little send-off to him. Oh, I love that.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_00Gives me a little fizzy feeling there.
SPEAKER_02You don't know what it is.
SPEAKER_00I know, but it's just the accent. Do you know what I mean? There's the certain accents you would go, oh yeah.
SPEAKER_03I mean, true and Italian man, I probably sound like a sort of half Geordy, half Welsh cross. Who the hell is this in there? What did you just say? God damn it, I can't know. Okay. Okay, maybe. Well, up next, um very fine gentleman, a man of exquisite tastes, a man that is impeccable about every choice he's ever made in his life.
SPEAKER_00Oh, yes. Yes, an absolute connoisseur of the RPG for I.
SPEAKER_03Not just everything. Everything he's ever chosen in his life is the best option.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Beautiful. Yeah, brilliant. Um, next up we have the wonderful Digital Mungry, the man behind the scenes of such things as challenge accepted. Let's get Quizzika. Quizzaka!
SPEAKER_04I want again, Quizzica.
SPEAKER_02Let's get Quizzica. Wanna hear your brain and talk? Your gaming talker. Wanna hear your brain talk? Your gaming talk.
SPEAKER_00You took that somewhere else, eh? Um, but yes, thanks. Did your mockery? Um, I don't know if as much of a thanks for what you just heard, but yes, thank you anyway.
SPEAKER_03That was the best thanks anyone ever had.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, absolute legend. So any is planning a bit of a surprise for OLL. So keep your eyes peeled for that when you come in.
SPEAKER_03You get both when okay, fine. I'm gonna get the legend, the slippery, boldest boy you've ever seen in your life. He just came in here. He's conquered skateboards, he's conquered snowboards. He's the kind of guy that comes surfing on a tsunami while doing his ironing and flossing his back teeth.
SPEAKER_00Oh again, wondered where that was gonna go. I thought you meant with a towel.
SPEAKER_03No, that would have been great. Yeah. But no, I went down a slightly more surreal route. Yes. Yes, which is the safe space for me.
SPEAKER_00Yes, thank you, boardboarder. I saw a video of him skateboarding this week as well.
SPEAKER_03I thought you were gonna tsunami. Wow, that was on point.
SPEAKER_00No, he was flossing, but he was on a skateboard.
SPEAKER_03Um Wow, with some dental floss or towel.
SPEAKER_00Oh no, towel. Yeah.
unknownCool. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00I scored a floss 360. So he's he's he's mastered it, yeah. Next up, next up we have um I'll be getting a message from him about this in a week. Um next up we have the uh the Discord sheriff himself, or one off uh Discord manager as well. The Discord programmer, would you call him? The guy who just keeps it running, ticking along, make sure the things are. Yeah, I know. Um it's Boba. Thank you very much, as always.
SPEAKER_03What's he going these days?
SPEAKER_00What's he going? I mean, that's not Queen's English, that.
SPEAKER_03No, it is in in terms in in terms of Boba. That's how it would be asked. What's he going?
SPEAKER_00I have no idea what you're asking me.
SPEAKER_03What colour?
SPEAKER_00Oh, well.
SPEAKER_03Thanks for making me feel like an idiot. When actually, it was a reasonable question, was it not?
SPEAKER_00It was, but it's just, you know, I tend to speak a bit more Queen's English than what's he going? Well, you might have to add Lib a bit more on that.
SPEAKER_03And what's the next sentence to that?
SPEAKER_00Oh Neddie laughed when I'd done it then. Going turquoise.
unknownRight.
SPEAKER_02So when I said to you, what's he going?
SPEAKER_03and you went, Why would you ask me like that? And then you go, he's going turn going turquoise.
SPEAKER_01Turquoise turquoise.
SPEAKER_00That's almost I that's what it is now. I'm calling it that for the rest of my life. Jeez.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01That is amazing.
SPEAKER_02Absolutely.
SPEAKER_03Um, at least if we do it this way, not only do you get what you need, I get what I need. Because my my red interception change is a strong boy, you know, tough. Um and you know, as I've said before many times, this love for a son that's not mine is incredible. That shows true love. And this week he's been wanting to just get a little bit more, I think the street kids call it, hemch. And I was like, is that possible? Because he's stretching a mortal man's amount of skin to the very limit of what's possible.
SPEAKER_00It's tight, it is tight.
SPEAKER_03And he came in the other day and he sat a full-body Botox. He looked uncomfortable. And I said, What's wrong? He said, Dad, I can't blink. I said, Why? What's happened? He said, I can't blink because my skin stretches that tight. Every time I blink, my arse opens, and I thought, well, then he damn near mess myself. And I was like, listen, boy, your pursuit of absolute human perfection has to know limits. Okay, you've done amazing. You're strong, stronger than any man I've ever seen.
SPEAKER_00I was gonna say, he's probably at the limit that he either has dry eyes or he shit himself. So I don't Well, that's it.
SPEAKER_03So he came in here and he he couldn't he couldn't, his eyes were just locked off dry. I've never seen it before. You know, normally people have a little bit of a glisten, you get a bit of a shine. There was nothing, it was like they were fat. Yeah, it was like a it was like it was like an oil painting.
SPEAKER_00No, it's probably like um one of them gobstoppers from the eighties.
SPEAKER_01Just that white dryness. Yeah, like he's got two gobstoppers in his eye on his eyeballs.
SPEAKER_03So yeah, so this week he's been just he's eased off all that. Yeah, he's took a bit of fatherly advice. Yeah, it's technologically mine, yeah. He he is emotionally mine, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Good lad, Jinge.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, so yeah, that's where we're at. I think the verb listeners get tight skin before. I think firm returns got a bit tight skin, but nothing like that.
SPEAKER_05Hmm.
SPEAKER_03So yeah.
SPEAKER_00Next up we have the wonderful Harvey retro as always. Keep watching his little clips of him playing Resident Evil Requiem and Resident Evil PS1.
SPEAKER_03You need to, as the assistant official producer, you need to sort this, and he listens as well. So now he's gonna be making a bee live for you. He wants to he wants to summon us into his lair. He wants to do a show live that retrograde.
SPEAKER_00Yes, he does, yes.
SPEAKER_03I you just tell me when.
SPEAKER_00Tomorrow.
SPEAKER_03Where is it? Oh, fine. That's fine for me.
SPEAKER_00Derbyshire.
SPEAKER_03I'll see you there.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's a bit closer for you, isn't it?
SPEAKER_03Farmerton's a big estate.
SPEAKER_00It's very big estate, yeah. It's got a 400-mile driveway.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I was gonna say it's the only village where you start off, and it's like if you're going east or west out of the village, it's fine.
SPEAKER_00But yes, we'll yeah, we'll we must sort that. But yes, thank you very much, Harvey Retro, as always.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, thank you, sir. Um, which means that I get to thank the most beautiful woman known to mankind. She's a Venus de Milo, she is Emma Sharp.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, thank you, Emma. Um next up we have Greg, nowhere near Berlin. Thank you as always, Greg. Another long time supporter of the show, and a man who's in the business himself. So uh thank you very much, Greg.
SPEAKER_03Up next. Without her, there would be none of this. No, we're all brothers to the same mother that we are different fathers. OG, me, RGT, Scotty, Seb, Bobby. They're like the Dudley boys. So thank you to Mumsy.
SPEAKER_00Thanks, Mumsy. Um, next we have the wonderful RGT fan club. Um might see you at the show, mum and dad, but depends if you can get over to Norwich or RL.
SPEAKER_03But yeah, oh that's big. So uh Wickerbed chair. I'll get my Damon bring him in.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I've got my dad a cap to put on back to front, got him a Game Boy t-shirt, so it wouldn't look like it's me coming, doesn't it? Yeah, exactly. You know, we dressed him up as me. Yeah, yeah, except him out there. Everyone goes, bloody hell, you're looking younger, George. Yeah, of course, yeah.
SPEAKER_03That's what I'm thinking. Yeah, get things to like get me get my social status up a little bit.
SPEAKER_00Exactly. Yeah, that's what you want.
SPEAKER_03Not even with gram.
SPEAKER_00I'm not even getting to borrow a boardboard skateboard, so we can come in on there and do a floss 360.
SPEAKER_03That is funny, but in the reality of everything, that is that's actually that's hilarious.
SPEAKER_00That's one of the most wrong things I've ever said. Um, yeah, so thank you, RGT fan club. We went a bit off beats there, but thank you. Who have we got next to, George? Do you want me to carry on for you, George?
SPEAKER_02Because you seem a bit broken at the next up, we have the uh I've got absolutely zero shame. It's outrageous. Oh, and I'm the bad guy.
SPEAKER_03Okay, up next to the man who he doesn't suffer from tight skin, is he's a little bit more of that kind of he's that big strong, if you know what I'm saying, without being too insulting to Peter. Um sorry, Peter. I'm sorry.
SPEAKER_00Still thinking of the floss 360.
SPEAKER_03Um listen, fairground rocked into town Easter weekend at Farmer turned out in the village green. One of the Jennies blew out on the kids Ferris wheel. Pretty big one, to be fair. Do you know what he did? No, he saw all this commotion happening from a distance away. He's got like an 80s racer, he's never upgraded from when he was about 16 in 67. Anyway, careering round the corner, up off the side of the swing. I was a bit like bloody hell, Pete.
SPEAKER_00Can you holly a bike? Oh well, that's whatever.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, he did. Yeah, grid it, which is uh which is the plural for grind, he gridded it to the top of the swing, yeah. Ollied up again off of that, boom down, and he locked the this is what was the best bit about it. He locked the back wheel down with such force, but sincerity that he knocked the motor off and kind of like the cog got meshed into his back wheel, anyway. That's accurate, dropped the front wheel down, turned his baseball cap backwards, so he looked a little bit like one of them Tour de France boys going up the mountain, yeah, pulled his glasses down on the edge of his nose. This is a little bit shady, looked up at the kids and just went, hold on. Then, right, pushed his shades back up on his nose, gripped his lower bars, and I've never seen a man. He just from his core down just drove everything into that bar.
SPEAKER_01Just roared into it.
SPEAKER_03Unfortunately, as we know, P doesn't know his own strength, and like one of those old old orange salad spinners that Mumsy had in the kitchen that was barely ever used, but when you were left to play with it, you So you're gonna say, like flinging lettuce everywhere, he was flinging kids. Yeah, but because it's not contained, they flew off everywhere. Deb spams had one land on her, damn near killed her.
SPEAKER_00Wedge.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. It's the terminal velocity of a kid, you know, it wasn't a big kid, but it was travelling at 125 miles an hour. That gave that kid the mass of about 20 stones. That was well, Debs has dealt with some big packages in the time. But 20 stone coming with velocity. She was winded, she's walking around. You know, what do you like when you get when you just ripping her back? She's like, oh making that god awful noise. Anyway, peaked him up, none of it just clipped his bike and went on.
SPEAKER_00Well, thanks, Pete. Anyway, um, and I hope you're feeling better, Debs. Um, next up we have the wonderful Billy Marmite, who unfortunately I used to blame Tom for the law.
SPEAKER_03It wasn't him, was it?
SPEAKER_00No, it wasn't no way.
SPEAKER_03It's never him, he was never the problem.
SPEAKER_00Um and uh yes, hope you feel better too, Billy Marmite, because actually Billy is a bit hype challenged, and so he was on back. Oh god. So the last time they saw him, he went past the conservatory at Farmer and Manor doing about 100 miles an hour. So I hope they've found you. Um yeah, I f I hope you're alright, Billy. So let us know. Um unless that was you, unless that was you got wedged in Debs Babs.
SPEAKER_03Um Billy killed that'll make that'll make sense because it looked slightly larger than an average child.
SPEAKER_00Exactly, and he went in there at a fair ferocity, so oh, oh wow, mate.
SPEAKER_03You know, I was mucking around earlier, but kept it light and go to detail. Yeah, you went to detail, didn't you?
SPEAKER_00Probably better move on to Zane Keith here, I think.
SPEAKER_03Things you've had me for during this episode as well, and you've been absolutely I mean you're look you're gonna get away with probably one or two of them.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I've changed.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, you're evil, really.
SPEAKER_00This show's ruined me. Must be such a nice boy.
SPEAKER_03I think it's basically just pulled down the veil.
SPEAKER_00Maybe.
SPEAKER_03You can't take it forever. Right. I'm gonna do it and you have to interpret what it is. And this week, because we're video, I'm gonna do the Zangif through the medium of dance.
SPEAKER_00Oh god help me. Jesus Christ. Do you see what I have to deal with each week?
SPEAKER_02Performative, darling, performative.
SPEAKER_00Do you see what I have to deal with each week? These lot this off air as well. This is like a red dwarf episode where they go on the uh Angel sh angel and demons, red dwarf. If you see it, you know what I mean.
SPEAKER_02Oh, they probably can't see me unless I make a noise because of the settings, can they?
SPEAKER_03So that's totally bloated.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Here we go. Dancing, dancing, noise, noise. Zangief.
SPEAKER_00Now, what was that? I would say that that was the price increase of the PS5. Because you were rising up.
SPEAKER_01How did you know that?
SPEAKER_00Because I'm very good at interpretive dance and studied it for four years. Okay, well scrap that section then because I was actually known as the young dancer in my generation. I might have made that bit up a bit. I got a bit carried away.
SPEAKER_03You know, this will be something they'll look back at on YouTube. They'll be like, this whole thing was scripted. They confessed it in that episode. They did this, did that. They still can't deliver this stuff without laughing at their own content.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, but we're happy. Exactly.
SPEAKER_03And people just labels on in the background anyway.
SPEAKER_00Humorous, exactly. Just humorous.
SPEAKER_03So it's just a little bit annoying. Oh, they're happy, we're happy, I'm happy.
Next Games And Final Sign-Off
SPEAKER_00Exactly.
SPEAKER_03What are you hoping to play?
SPEAKER_00Um, bit more easy delivery company. Um, definitely nutmeg. Um, try and just get that final little mission I've got to do on Bang Average Football. Um, and also, I forgot to mention earlier, I'm as of recording this, you've probably already known now, but we will be doing a new vote for the Gen 7 game RGT Battle Past. So that will be coming out in the next. Well, as of hearing this, it's already happened, but I will be doing that.
SPEAKER_03Give us a teaser of what they are.
SPEAKER_00Um, I don't know yet. Um, Zankeefer sent me two games, but I can't remember what they are. Um, and I will be picking my two, and there will be four games up for vote. If you want to join in and you're always interested in this, see what game we pick.
SPEAKER_03Oh, I just know ahead of time.
SPEAKER_00Um, so yes, so I will be playing on PS3, I would imagine, some sort of game that we've we've voted in over a 24-hour vote. Um, pretty much mostly does, I think. Probably go cruise through the old Steam library, see what's on there for me to download. Mostly does. Yeah. What about you? What are you gonna be playing?
SPEAKER_03Uh I don't even know at this moment. I am quite sure what's in on the plan for me this week, but um I'll personally be dipping into some Ken probably tonight. Um, I I don't know what it is about it. I just kind of be damned if it's gonna beat me in a way. Um and then I want to have a go on some retro. I know that's like annoying to everybody, but uh I am. Uh and then I'm trying to think of something else. I've been obviously Voyager's in the back burner at the moment. I just I think I need to start that again. And that's the thing with these some of these roguelikes. If you end up getting yourself in a bit of a corner, you've got to restart basically. And I'm I'm at that way with Ken and um Voyager, really. It's a bit sore, soul destroying.
SPEAKER_00I think we've got to be. Might need a bit of a pet paract cleanser, I reckon.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I think so. I'm actually been kind of thinking about getting back into farming simulator on the old PS5. Um I've really been enjoying playing it on Switch, and it's absolutely garbage on there. So why am I not playing it on PS5?
SPEAKER_00We're strange creatures, us gamers.
SPEAKER_03Uh we are. Um I think that probably draws this to its logical conclusion, RGT, at this point. And that and that's all we have time for this week, listeners. Always thank you for your time. Look forward to the pleasure of speaking to you again next week. Until then, happy gaming. And remember, there's nothing wrong with being given the unofficial controller, it's what you do with it that counts. See you, RGT. Later. See you guys, and I'm gonna do it.
