Uh a news anchor goes into labor on air.
unknownWhat?
SPEAKER_00Well, well, I mean you can go into labor anytime.
SPEAKER_01Well, you are you are in a labor union.
SPEAKER_00Yes. So that's there's that. So you're in labor.
SPEAKER_01In that way, yes. You are a laborer in that way.
SPEAKER_00And this seems different.
SPEAKER_01She was going, she's two days past due.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_01And while she's on air, I think she's like a weather reporter. Could be. Depends on how late you are.
SPEAKER_00I guess. I'm sorry.
SPEAKER_01And then unless you're delivering at the library. Actually, if you're delivering at the library.
SPEAKER_00And your past due.
SPEAKER_01And your past due. But you don't have the books with you, but you've got the baby.
SPEAKER_00I don't think that counts.
SPEAKER_01And what if the books that you took out had to do with understanding how to take care of a newborn?
SPEAKER_00I don't know. You're doing mitten hands.
SPEAKER_01So anyway, so she goes into labor on air.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_01So her water, she's talking.
SPEAKER_00Oh, her water broke.
SPEAKER_01So she's at, she's a news anchor, and she's talking, and her water breaks.
SPEAKER_00I have questions.
SPEAKER_01And she continues. Of course you have questions.
SPEAKER_00I've got a lot of questions.
SPEAKER_01Everyone watching right now has questions.
SPEAKER_00Answer them.
SPEAKER_01I will.
SPEAKER_00Okay. I'm ready.
SPEAKER_01Ask me. I don't know. I mean, I have to.
SPEAKER_00You read the article and I also watched. Answer our questions.
SPEAKER_01Okay, go for it. What's the question?
SPEAKER_00Why? Well, why didn't she leave?
SPEAKER_01Because she's apparently she's okay. She's dedicated. Of course.
SPEAKER_00At this point, what does being dedicated to work mean? It's like your arm comes off, and I'm like, no, okay, it's just a flash round. And you sit there, I'll just type with one hand on my computer.
SPEAKER_01Why would your voice become a Muppet voice if you lose your arm?
SPEAKER_00Because if you stay at work when you've lost an arm, you must be a Muppet.
SPEAKER_01But she's talking on camera.
SPEAKER_00She said, No, I'm fine.
SPEAKER_01Let's keep telling them only two days overdue, you know. Water broke. Look at that. Fine. Waterbroken.
SPEAKER_00Fine.
SPEAKER_01And who No, but it but it's commercial television. So of course they're gonna because it gets viewers. That's why. It gets viewers.
SPEAKER_00Now she Who's the Iahtzee member who's gotta clean that up?
SPEAKER_01Union member? Well, she herself is probably SAGAFTRA. SAGAFTRA. She's probably the Confederation of Television.
SPEAKER_00She's gonna stand up and walk away. She could actually and and then tap dance out. Yeah, tik-k-tick-tick tik-k-tik.
SPEAKER_01Her water broke. Why would she be tap dancing? Well, she's giving the news on the channel. Anyway, so what she said was, I'm fine, I'm here on my own accord. I'll leave if I have to. Right. In the meantime, I'm gonna keep talking, just so the viewer knows that right now my seat is wet.
SPEAKER_00Ew! She did not say that.
SPEAKER_01No, but that I'm just imagining she's sitting there, you know, looking down occasionally. It's like, you know, oh, yeah, that's a it's quite a bit. Let's talk about the weather. So, so she is, you know. This is then this is her first baby.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_01Um local news anchor, Olivia.
SPEAKER_00Local where?
SPEAKER_01Uh Albany, New York.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_01Olivia Jackeith went ahead with a three-hour morning newscast.
SPEAKER_00Wait, three hours? Yeah. I thought it was just like like the weather or something.
SPEAKER_01Well, apparently there's a lot of weather in Albany, New York. You know? Is that a tornado or am I just, you know, giving birth? Uh even after her label uh labor contractions began and her water broke, keeping viewers updated about the coming birth of her first baby.
SPEAKER_00Wow. And did they just preemptive the gynecologist right in there, slap her up on the desk? You got the stirrups. Okay, here we go. I'm ready, catchers, mate.
SPEAKER_01Like the obstetrician is there.
SPEAKER_00Yes. The uh the um uh no, I'll bet they weren't though, but they could bring them in, could have been bring in her partner or birthing partner or whoever she's got going on with her. Why not just deliver right on air?
SPEAKER_01Why not?
SPEAKER_00Why not?
SPEAKER_01But they preempted everything. There could have been a war going on somewhere, a tornado tearing up some town.
SPEAKER_00Right.
SPEAKER_01Who knows what? It was more important for the viewers to be privy to every moment of her giving birth. So here's my question.
SPEAKER_00Oh, you have questions now. I do have questions.
SPEAKER_01Many questions.
SPEAKER_00Many questions.
SPEAKER_01First, yes, as an actor, I'm in the union, same union that she's probably should be in. SAGAFTRA.
SPEAKER_00Yes.
SPEAKER_01Screen Actors Guild and the American Federation of Radio Television Artists.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_01All right.
SPEAKER_00Yes.
SPEAKER_01So she's getting paid to do her job to perform, right? Yes. But her baby, if her baby is born on camera and has a speaking role because the baby's crying, that's the best that the baby can do in speaking, is the baby also then sag after eligible? That's my first question.
SPEAKER_00And does the baby get the same day rate?
SPEAKER_01That's what I'm saying.
SPEAKER_00And a tutor.
SPEAKER_01And then of course there's craft services, you know? She has to breastf. No, she's got a breastfeed.
SPEAKER_00Wait, can you be sag after and craft services at the same time? That makes her craft services. She herself is craft services.
SPEAKER_01Oh, that's true.
SPEAKER_00It tells me that that's like conflicting unions there.
SPEAKER_01Well, if she is giving birth in front of the Albany New York audience, she might as well breastfeed also and talk about the process. She could be there for 12 hours straight. And this was just the water breaking.
SPEAKER_00Let's not do that.
SPEAKER_01It was just the water breaking. They did not even get into her breaking.
SPEAKER_00It's giving new meaning to breaking news.
unknownHa.
SPEAKER_00I had to say it. That was great.
SPEAKER_01I had to say it. I'll give a pregnant pause. And then. Yeah. All right. I'm happy to be here. I'll stay on the desk. On the desk. So not only is Oh, on the desk.
SPEAKER_00So she is gonna be. She's actually on the desk. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Of course it's a term, but she actually could have literally been on the desk.
SPEAKER_00But she was not. Let's be clear about it.
SPEAKER_01As long as I possibly can.
SPEAKER_00We have to link to this.
SPEAKER_01But if I disappear, that's what's going on.
SPEAKER_00Okay. Cool.
SPEAKER_01Thanks a lot. Thank you. For the opportunity to miss your actual giving of the birth.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Certain things we just do not need to see.
SPEAKER_00No, no.
SPEAKER_01On air.
SPEAKER_00There's bring your whole self to work. And then there's please don't bring everything to work.
SPEAKER_01And can you claim time off then? Is that already maternity leave?
SPEAKER_00Not until she gets off the desk and goes to the hospital. Or her home birthing center or whatever she's got set up.
SPEAKER_01Probably it's on Facebook. Probably got three cameras. Wow.
SPEAKER_00So yours was exciting. I'm not sure mine is quite as exciting as yours.
SPEAKER_01Okay. Go for it.
SPEAKER_00Okay. You know how lots of people play the lottery.
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_00And the hard part, yeah. I mean, the hard part is always like, what numbers am I gonna pick? So when we do choose to play the lottery, we usually go with the quick pick. We let the computer take care of it. Yeah. Never mind that the computer's also choosing the winning numbers, and it's probably all a big scam. Which it kind of is. I mean, you know, my my dad says the lottery is a tax on people who are bad at math.
SPEAKER_01Wow, that's definitely truth. I'm bad at math.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. So anyway, nonetheless, we do sometimes play, and I think that this woman uh had it all figured out because she took the numbers from inside of a fortune cookie and played that for the lottery and won$50,000. Oh, what kind of fortune cookie was that? Exactly, right? I know.
SPEAKER_01So there's some truth to fortune cookies.
SPEAKER_00There must be. I mean, we have to do a study.
SPEAKER_01We're gonna have to eat a lot of takeout food.
SPEAKER_00Well, I mean, or you can just make a lot of really small orders. And because you know how they give you the fortune cookie with each order, right?
SPEAKER_01Can you just order fortune cookies?
SPEAKER_00Like I'll order egg drop soup by itself. I get egg drop soup and a fortune cookie. And then I'll order, you know, like cracking.
SPEAKER_01Buy a bag of fortune cookies.
SPEAKER_00That's cheating.
SPEAKER_01Or go Amazon might even have a bag of 1,000 fortune cookies.
SPEAKER_00I'm sure those are fresh.
SPEAKER_01So what happens?$50,000? What is it?
SPEAKER_00So she won$50,000. So, first of all, she bought taken. Once again, I have questions, right? So apparently, she took the fortune inside her daughter's cookie and used them to buy.
SPEAKER_01She took it from her daughter, right?
SPEAKER_00Right? So who really has$50,000? Is it her or is it her daughter? Is this going into the state?
SPEAKER_01Was this the daughter who was born on air at that?
SPEAKER_00Oh, that would be very meta, but probably not. Because I doubt that baby is eating fortune cookies yet.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_00So yeah. Powerball. Now that it gets even better. Oh god. So it gets better.
SPEAKER_01We're we're does she win again?
SPEAKER_00The breadcrumbs here. Does she win again? Because she went to buy a Powerball ticket.
SPEAKER_01With that$50,000.
SPEAKER_00No, no, no, no, no. She this is she she decided to make a$500$5 wager on the Golden Snake triple play game on the lottery's instant play page.
SPEAKER_01All right.
SPEAKER_00I'm gonna pretend I know what that means. I'm sure a lot of you know what that means. Okay.
SPEAKER_01No idea what that means.
SPEAKER_00But then as part of choosing, as part of playing the golden snake triple play game, you can apparently click to select the game's fortune cookie bonus, which she clicked that box.
SPEAKER_01Uh-huh. And what happened?
SPEAKER_00She won her$50,000. So it's that easy. It's very meta. You take the numbers from a fortune cookie and you play the golden snake triple play game, and then click the to to select the game's fortune cookie bonus, and you get$50,000.
SPEAKER_01It was a scam.
SPEAKER_00And she just she just she says, I almost always choose the fortune cookie bonus. She said, so apparently she's done this before. Oh, I see. And not won$50,000, but I just happened to choose that one. I just hit and there it went. Wow.
SPEAKER_01Wow. What if instead of numbers it was something like you you will win uh fifty million dollars and then she wins only fifty thousand dollars. That is is that silver fortune?
SPEAKER_00Well, fifty thousand dollars is a lot of money.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it it it it is.
SPEAKER_00I mean, we could buy a lot of Starbucks with that.
SPEAKER_01True. Wow, right? I could kind of want to get takeout right now and some fortune cookies.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, me too, actually. I want to get some cookies and you know, we could do that. Not right now, but we could actually do that. And then if we did, you know, we could post it on Instagram and see how we did.
SPEAKER_01Okay. All right.
SPEAKER_00We'll see.
SPEAKER_01Well, we'll have to we'll have to on the gram fortune cookies. Take those numbers, say play these numbers. Wait, wait a minute. The numbers in the fortune cookies are are those specifically designed to match the number of numbers, uh digits for for like the lottery?
SPEAKER_00I think so.
SPEAKER_01So if you're playing, if she played the numbers, like like is it exact, like column-wise?
SPEAKER_00I mean, I think there's just like a bank of numbers, right? And it's like one through however many, right? And then however many numbers she had there, I don't interesting. Wow. Okay, ignore into that.
SPEAKER_01And did she prove did she show that?
SPEAKER_00What do you mean?
SPEAKER_01Did she show the actual fortune cookie? I mean the the the the fortune.
SPEAKER_00I don't know. This is our this is from our friends at upi.com again. So again, you know, a a real news source. And this was under odd news from July 2nd, 2025.
SPEAKER_01Wow, okay. Yeah, all right.
SPEAKER_00Well she's uh she lives in Kentucky.
SPEAKER_01Excellent.
SPEAKER_00So yeah, lucky woman, very lucky.
SPEAKER_01Um, and I'm I'm sure she enjoyed the meal that she purchased in order to get the fortune cookies.
SPEAKER_00I hope so. I really hope so. And I hope her daughter never finds out because that she took that cookie from her.
SPEAKER_01Because there's a possibility that there may be some mushrooms involved in that meal that her daughter will serve her.
SPEAKER_00Oh. Yes. You know that people don't necessarily watch YouTube videos in order, right?
SPEAKER_01But you'll find the episode where there's this woman.
SPEAKER_00It's another, it's in the weird news playlist.
SPEAKER_01And we'll have to find out if there's a verdict on that.
SPEAKER_00I know.
SPEAKER_01Oh but don't take the fortune that the the lottery ticket from your children.
SPEAKER_00Risked out of her cute little hands.
SPEAKER_01You know, like let me take that.
SPEAKER_00Take that and use it. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Here have some takeout.
SPEAKER_00Right. Yeah. Here, here's a lollipop.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and we're I won$50,000. Here's a lollipop. What did she do with the$50,000?
SPEAKER_00Well, I guess so. Apparently, her husband is retiring um in December.
SPEAKER_01By himself. And she took something from him, too.
SPEAKER_00Uh
