Cold Open And Setup

SPEAKER_00

Hey. Hi, my name is Kip Clark. Welcome to Skip Happens, everybody. And there's the lovely encounter, Miss Ray. Hello from the Ponzo. We were running a just a little bit late. I forgot to pay the bill.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. So we had to take care of that real quick, and then we were able to hop on.

SPEAKER_00

So we're here now and I'm a few dollars short. Right.

SPEAKER_01

Miss Ray.

SPEAKER_00

What's going on, man? How are you?

SPEAKER_02

I'm good. I'm good. How are you doing?

Jim Carreyโ€™s Return And Rumors

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it's been a hell of a day. But we're doing good. We're doing good. I wonder if anybody else had a bad day. Well, I can't say I really had a bad day, but a lot of stuff went out. We'll be talking about that here in a little bit. But uh, I know we we need to talk about Jim Carrey.

SPEAKER_01

Yes. So there is a bunch of buzz on the internet right now. I don't know if you've seen it. It has been all over my social media. My family and I can't stop talking about it. Um, Jim Carrey has come out of his hiding, I guess. You could say he was out of the picture for a little bit.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it's been a little bit. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And then there was an um awards ceremony in Paris this past weekend. It was the 51st Caesar Awards. Yeah. And Jim Carrey was there. And everybody on social media is like, oh my gosh, is this Jim Carrey? Is this a clone? What's going on?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it wasn't really him.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, because like he just, I guess you could say he wasn't acting like himself. He didn't really.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know. I don't know if he he still looks like what Jim Carrey used to look like. I mean, you're he's always gonna be Jim Carrey, don't get me wrong. Now that as we age, and maybe he's got a beard now, maybe he's you know David Letterman back in the day when you know he he was David Letterman.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I watched some of the interviews and his interview and his tones were much, much different. So it's quite interesting to look at him at this award show to to see what he's been up to and see what he's looking like, you know. And I know it's a conspiracy theory. I know that Jim Carrey possibly being cloned is like is that even possible? But I don't know, is it is it him? There there was a person by the name of Alexa Stone who actually came out and said it was me. They posted pictures of themselves and what some SFX makeup, all this other stuff. Okay, that was Paris. Now, I read an article that said that this was AI created, so this person's just kind of feeding into the conspiracies, but I guess it's just really cool to kind of see all this buzz about this actor.

SPEAKER_00

And you know, he announced the soft retirement, I think it was back in 2022, and uh, you know, he he he felt he had done enough in Hollywood and uh he was just gonna kind of walk away, live the quieter life, you know. I mean, I thought he was great. He's a funny thing.

SPEAKER_01

I thought he was gonna be a painter, I believe. He there was a point where he um when Alice still on air.

Awards Night Confusion And Clone Claims

SPEAKER_00

Painting is a hobby.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, he he was painting at the at the time and was expressing interest in that.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, but he said, and I quote, because I'm reading it here, I have enough, I've done enough, I am enough. Oh, I can do that. You're gonna see that on my office door tomorrow.

SPEAKER_01

On your office door or the studio tomorrow?

SPEAKER_00

Well, that's the studio is my office now. Yeah. You know, we we kind of we move from one location to the next. But uh yeah, so that's you know, I guess he's focused on his art in painting. Um he l he's spending a lot of time on the visual art. I mean, there's no doubt about that. And um, you know, he just he paints a large political and cultural pieces and shares them occasionally online. Um, I haven't seen them though, but they they say they are online. I showed a documentary called Oh, yeah, I needed color, showed his art studio and process. So that's kind of cool. That's how I knew he was doing some of the art stuff. So yeah, and all that. So what do you think? It's all just uh you do.

SPEAKER_01

I don't know. Sometimes I'm kind of uh see I love like a good conspiracy theory, something that really I don't know. I just I like sometimes being playful with life and like thinking, now with that being said, if he really is on, I it's gonna I'm gonna have a meltdown. Like I what?

SPEAKER_00

Maybe his time's up and just ace ventura.

SPEAKER_01

They can't take him and cat what Katherine O'Hara recently passed away.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, I am how old is Jim Jerry now, do we know? Let me look at it.

SPEAKER_01

Great question. Yes, that up. But it just it really made me think about how we've previously mentioned, and although we were talking in a music context, how people in entertainment industries kind of go out of the spotlight in a way, and then they come back and all these ways. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Then they drift back.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And all of a sudden they're there. Then they're gone again.

Carreyโ€™s Art, Retreat, And Reinvention

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. And people like fans have different relationships with that. Some fans are like all about when they're gone, you know what I mean? They're all like, oh my gosh, what's this person doing? What's this person up to? And then the flip side of it is like respecting their peace and being like, okay, he's gonna take a break. No, you know.

SPEAKER_00

I respect that. And they can enjoy the fruits of their labor. They can just say, hey, I've done enough of this crap. Uh crap or not, it's what they love to do. It's their passion. And uh they've probably made millions of dollars. Now we all know that. They're living uh rather comfortable. Uh he is uh I looked up here, 64, 64 years old. January 17th is Jim Carrey's birthday. Yeah, yeah. So he's 64 youngster.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I'm just saying.

SPEAKER_01

He's young.

SPEAKER_00

He was uh Sonic the Hedgehog. He was in uh he was in that.

SPEAKER_01

What's your favorite Jim Carrey movie?

SPEAKER_00

Oh, I love Ace Ventura.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my gosh, he didn't have to say that. That is my favorite. No way. Yes, that detective or they're all good. Yeah, they're all good.

SPEAKER_00

They're all good. And that that was a series that you know you could do one and didn't, you know, usually when those come out like one after another after another, they kind of get like, yeah, it's not as good as the first. But these, these movies stayed right up there. I mean, it was Jim Carrey, it was funny, it was just, you know, and his antics and all that, uh, just just great, great. Uh, you know, um, oh, go ahead. No, it's because Jim Carrey was only 32 years old in 1994 when those three massive comedy hits came out. One of the biggest breakout years in Hollywood history, uh, Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, and uh, oh man, it just goes on and on. Yeah. Oh, wait a minute. So oh, this is interesting. No. So it had to be the Ace Venture Pet Detective, the masked, Dumb and Dumber. Remember Dumb and Dumber? I mean, I was gonna say that. They all came out the same year.

SPEAKER_02

Really?

SPEAKER_00

They did, and that was uh, I want to say the early 90s, but uh, but that's what launched him into starting. Then uh late 90s, 2000s shifted into more dramatic roles. He was in the Truman Show, The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mom.

SPEAKER_02

Another great one.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah, and then the 2020s seriously played uh Dr. Robinick in Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic the Sonic the Hedgehog 2, which he said could be his final acting role. So I don't know. I don't know. I'm I'm reading this, some of this is not making sense to me. But okay, yeah, that's AI for you.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

There you have it. Yeah, there you have it. Exactly. Wow. I just yeah, I just think it's really cool that he had such a commendable career and then kind of took that step back and is is now coming into the picture again.

SPEAKER_00

So just to back it off a little bit before we move on. So they they think it was him, but not really him.

SPEAKER_01

His rep his reps said it was him. They said that the story. I don't know. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

That's that's I don't know if I have it now.

SPEAKER_01

We'll work on that next time.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, those crickets number.

SPEAKER_01

But yeah, yeah, it's just it's wild. But speaking of comebacks, there was an album that was dropped last week, and I can't stop listening to it. Oh my god. Bruno Mars dropped the romantic.

unknown

Oh my god.

SPEAKER_01

And I'm obsessed. I I don't know. I this is um I'm proud of him for being able to get himself together and he didn't get himself together.

SPEAKER_00

I don't think he ever fell apart.

SPEAKER_01

But uh Well, he he do you know why he went out of the picture a little bit?

SPEAKER_00

Tell us, Miss Ray.

SPEAKER_01

I believe he went into some debt, and that's why he had to you can fact that go ahead. Um, I believe he had some debts um that he had to um to pay.

SPEAKER_00

Um yeah, so he was gambling. Um but I mean, how did he make up the money? Did he have to go work like that?

SPEAKER_01

No, do you want to know who really helped him? And I swear this. I don't I think it was Lady Gaga. Bless her heart, bless her soul. But do you remember the song Um Die for You that they came out with together? That was the first song that was created after Bruno had kind of gone through this this kind of rough stage in his life, and then um he came out with Lady Gaga.

SPEAKER_00

What do you see, Skip? Uh I did some fact checking.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, and I could be wrong, so it's a good thing that we did check.

SPEAKER_00

Bruno Mars did seem to disappear for a while, but it wasn't because anything was wrong. It was mostly a mix of long creative gaps, side projects, and touring. Here's what happened. Stay tuned.

SPEAKER_01

So, what you heard was rumors, was conspiracy theories.

Fact Checks And The Viral Machine

SPEAKER_00

Uh, yeah, and yeah, that came from Miss Ray's. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It says here Bruno Mars is known for taking long gaps between solo albums. Uh, of course, he had DeoWops and Hooligans uh unorthodox jukebox, 24K Magic. Uh, and after 24K Magic, he didn't rush another album. Instead, he focused on performing and writing. Okay, Silence is golden. That's good. It makes you think a little bit. It does. Absolutely. Absolutely.

SPEAKER_01

It does. And it makes me wonder where I got that information about him having that.

SPEAKER_00

Maybe it's not wrong. Because just because. But I you think it would come up here. I mean, with the Skip Clark fact checking department checking on these things. But uh the bottom line, Bruno Mars didn't disappear. He just uh works differently than most artists. He releases music when it's perfect and not on a typical album cycle. So it's when he wants to. Which is probably not a bad thing. Yeah. I mean, I talk to a lot of artists and I hear all different ways.

SPEAKER_01

I'm sure that makes his music much more authentic, much more real.

SPEAKER_00

Look what just came out, as you were just saying. Look at that, and the songs coming off that album. Um, of course, what was the one I was just playing? Just had a brand. Risk it all. Risk it all. I mean, that I I mean, I'm not teaching weddings any longer, but I'll tell you, that's gonna be a hit for weddings that's coming up this wedding season. Risk it all. It's just so my god.

SPEAKER_01

I just my a lot of great songs. So make sure to go check that out for sure. Check out Bruno Mars' new album.

SPEAKER_00

Absolutely.

SPEAKER_01

Because he's one over not only the countryside, but also my side. So he's gotta be doing something right.

SPEAKER_00

And also he's you know, kind of uh rhythmic. He he does he can do just about anything. He can play how many different instruments?

SPEAKER_01

He just might.

SPEAKER_00

He just might.

SPEAKER_01

He just might.

SPEAKER_00

Just might. Yeah, but I love. I mean, yeah. Come on. You go to a wedding, and what do you hear? You hear Bruno Marx, you know, uptown fun. That's almost a given. Even to this very day, it's gonna be played at a wedding.

SPEAKER_01

Absolutely.

Bruno Marsโ€™ โ€œDisappearanceโ€ Debunked

SPEAKER_00

Or um 24 karat.

SPEAKER_01

Um the album that he made before that, where it's um uh I think grenades on it. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Absolutely.

SPEAKER_01

Absolutely talking to the moon, that album is really, really good as well. And I just think it's really cool that that he's able to work on his art, work on himself, and not worry about losing or leaving anything behind, you know? And I think that that can kind of be brought back to real life, you know, where this is kind of a segue. Um but like sometimes in like, yes, segue heads up. Um how like sometimes in life you you devote yourself to something and you realize like this is what I do and I don't have to do in order to get there, you know what I mean? So you kind of shift your perspective, shift your move in order to do what you need to do. Now, those conspiracy theories that I mentioned before, do you think him coming out in the public would have fed into that, or do you think him kind of letting that all die down and come back?

SPEAKER_00

I don't think I don't know if it would have fed into that. I think it'd kind of die off, kind of go in its own direction, that's what I'm thinking.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

But I don't know. That's funny that's what the old man over here is saying. Yeah, I don't know.

SPEAKER_01

Which is fair, which is fair. But um kind of looking at life, like, is there anything that you in your trajectory of things going through life, has there ever been something where you were like, you know, I don't know if I want to do this anymore? After taking some time to like days, you know what I mean? Because what if he like went through all this? He took this time and he was like, you know, I'm gonna switch up, I'm gonna continue this break, I'm gonna do this, I'm gonna do that. But and like in real life, you know what I mean? Like, what how have you approached those breaks or gone through that? Does that make sense? Or was that like just a bunch of word vomit?

SPEAKER_00

But it was a lot of word vomit, but no, all kidding aside. No, it does, it makes a little bit of sense. But it is that like maybe you don't know if you should leave a job or not, or do you think it's right, or like a unsure what you want to do?

Craft Over Hype And New Music Buzz

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, or say you're struggling with a relationship with somebody and you don't know how to like well do that and make that shift in your life, you know what I mean? Because it's all about I feel like life is almost like a game, and it's all about the moves that you make.

SPEAKER_00

See, you and I will look at this differently.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

You're at your point in your life. I'm at my point in my life.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

There's two opposite ends here. All right.

SPEAKER_01

And I think there's a lot of wisdom over.

SPEAKER_00

There is. If you have an opportunity, you're not sure that you want to do what you do, and you're not liking that, whatever. Maybe you do like it, but you don't think, you know, I'm never gonna make the money I want to make, I'm never gonna be able to go anywhere if I stay here. I'm gonna be sitting in this chair 20 years from now. You know what? Sometimes at your age, you gotta say, screw this shit. I am just gonna go and I'm gonna make it work. Because what I believe in is you will make it work. It doesn't matter who you are, you will survive. You will make it work, you will do what you have to do. So that's what I'm thinking. So if you're thinking about maybe like, God, I I want to do this, but I can't because you know I need to make this money. And you know what? You gotta be happy. You gotta go. We've talked about this before. I mean, I've been there, I've done it. And you talk about relationships.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and when you go through that, isn't there an element of fear or there is you're yeah, the element of fear is not a bad thing.

Creative Gaps And How Artists Work

SPEAKER_00

I think it's gonna make you try harder to get where you want to go. That's what I believe. I don't I'm not one of those, you know, psychologists or anything like that. I'm just a radio guy that pushes buttons. But fear, fear is actually good because it's gonna make you get off your ass and it's gonna make you go do what you want to do.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

That's what I'm saying. Or you can sit in that chair for the rest of your life. Do you want to do that? No, absolutely not. Come on, you got a college degree, you're very intelligent, you're doing a great job at what you're doing. I know you love this other thing that you're doing, you know, with the radio station and stuff. So, and I know what I know what you want to do, and I think most of us there know what you want to do. So, you know, whether it's with us or another radio company or whatever, I would say, yeah, let's go.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Because you'll make it happen. Yeah, you know, you're I don't mean this in a a bad way at all. I don't think it's bad, but you're still living at home. All right. So you're good. You got the support of your parents, you got a great family. You know, you're still young.

SPEAKER_01

Just, you know, now's the time to to be adventurous and to try to be adventurous. Yes. The mystery of this life. I also bring this up because I was having this conversation with with one of my friends. You know, we were kind of talking about careers. She's very, very career motivated. Um, it's my friend Aubrey. She is a owner of a like a traveling hair company, you know what I mean? So like she, we're we kind of talk business sometimes.

SPEAKER_00

She's somebody that like go and do a bribe's hair the day of the ceremony, like go to the venue and you know, yeah. Okay, so she's that's what you mean. Okay, all right, that's the business.

Life Pivots And Taking The Leap

SPEAKER_01

Yes, and her business is called laundering shears. So long story short, her and I were having this conversation, and we were just talking about like, you know, she does things to kind of make ends meet and live her her dream, which is to really just give people she wants to obviously do hair, but there's more to that. It's about making people feel beautiful and making people feel validated, making people feel seen. So she's trying everything that she can do, and I I do my thing. You know what I mean? It's kind of like we do things at this point in our life to kind of play it safe, if you will. And it makes me think like, I'm sure everybody goes through this where they kind of are going through something in their life, whether it's in their career and they're like, oh my god, what do I do for my next career move? Or they have a friend where they're like, you know, this person really has ran their course. Like, I don't, I don't know. It's just yeah, I'm sure that you've you've gone through those things and those emotions. So I just I don't know, I I bring that into the well.

SPEAKER_00

No, no, no, and I I hear you because I mean, doing what I what I do, and as long as I've been doing it, let's be honest here, I actually left it for a few years and said, I never want to do that again. I said, That's it, I'm not, you know, I'm wasting my time. And I ended up uh I went into work, uh, I was cutting lawns. Not lawns, I was cutting like parks. And I I worked for the parks department. But you know what? And all of a sudden it hit me. What am I doing? Am I happy? Am I gonna be riding on this mower that's 17 feet wide, the Jacob's been cutting the ball fields and in the town of Camilla's? Do I really want to do that the rest of my life? No, yeah, I went to school for radio and TV. I I did this, and you know what? I mean, it that's what I was doing back years ago. So it was like, and here I am now, and thank good Lord that things are good. But still, it's yeah, it goes through your mind and don't hesitate. Just go. Yeah, you know, I say go.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, go. Go and don't look back.

SPEAKER_00

Don't look back.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, why would you look back? Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Because you can't change what's behind you. That's true. You don't change what's in front of you, right? That's true. I don't know.

SPEAKER_01

And that wasn't even AI, everybody. That was that was Skip. That was Skip.

SPEAKER_00

That was But it's so true when you think about it.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I like that. I like that. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

What's really cool too is um the figure skater that just won gold, the female figure skater, Alyssa Blue, the female.

SPEAKER_00

Alyssa Blue. I you know, I love her hair.

SPEAKER_01

Very original hair. I'm I dig it. I think.

SPEAKER_00

All right, hang on, look, because you being a woman, we're kind of shifting gears here a little bit. Is it hard to do your hair like that? I mean, her lines were like it was black, gold. Is it hard like for the hair stylist to do it? Do you think she did it or she had somebody do it?

SPEAKER_01

I think she had somebody do it.

SPEAKER_00

That that's a lot of work, right?

SPEAKER_01

That's a lot of work.

SPEAKER_00

But it it's set, I mean, the impression.

SPEAKER_01

I think her natural hair added to who she is. Her natural hair color, I believe, is is like the darker color. So she may have just bleached the stripes in. And what I heard too is that every stripe signifies how many times she's competed. So I believe there's like three or four stripes, and that's because of how many Olympics she's attached.

SPEAKER_00

Really?

SPEAKER_01

Yep.

SPEAKER_00

I had are you are you I'm being serious. I had no idea. She said that she said that.

SPEAKER_01

That's why I'm not sure. Oh, that was so cool.

SPEAKER_00

I was so impressed by her.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, me too.

SPEAKER_00

I don't watch a lot of the figure skating, but to watch what she was amazing.

Fear As Fuel And Career Advice

SPEAKER_01

Yes, very amazing. What was cool though is that she kind of did what you did, where she she took a break. You know, she had been competing at a very young age. When she turned 16, she's like, I need a break. And she worked on herself, worked on her mental health, and then she came back and she was like, you know, I want to compete, but I want to compete on my terms, which very boss woman of her. She's like, Yeah, I want to compete on my own terms. I want to train myself and choose who I train with. And I want to be able to pick my music. Like, I want to be able to pick my music. And she has touched so many Gen Z people, people my age, because she's playing music that is you normally don't hear the song that um she actually won gold to was promised by I'm gonna say her name wrong, and I I don't want to. It's Lay Say. I'm pretty sure that's how you say it.

SPEAKER_00

But I've got all of her music, right?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, Lay Fay, yeah, I'm sure you know who that is.

SPEAKER_00

I'll get it off.

SPEAKER_01

Um, she's like a classical artist. Yeah, she's a current day classical. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Very cool.

SPEAKER_01

Um but the song that she chose really correlated with her message and like how she felt about skating and the pro the song is about like having feelings towards something, but just not knowing how to let that go. And that's the point of like making a promise, like making a promise to not let that go. But it's like sometimes you need that space to see what you're missing in a way, but also when you come back, you're like better than ever, you know what I mean?

SPEAKER_00

Right, right.

SPEAKER_01

But in the same way, it's also kind of like well, go get what you want.

SPEAKER_00

Kind of goes back to what we're talking about. So that's what she wants to do. She's gonna do it. She is gonna do it. And I'm waiting to see. I I don't know, I haven't seen it yet, but I'm sure if you go walk the mall or something, you're gonna start seeing young ladies with the colours.

SPEAKER_01

Oh yeah, she's starting to try, and the smiley's gonna come back, the piercing in her mouth.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, okay. So is that what they call that?

SPEAKER_01

A smiley.

SPEAKER_00

A smiley.

SPEAKER_01

Was it like it was so it's if you I not this is for people who don't like if you there's like skin right under like if you pull your lip forward. Right. Yeah, so that's pierced through there.

SPEAKER_00

Oh my god! It's gonna hurt.

SPEAKER_01

It definitely does, but no piercing is good.

SPEAKER_00

So you know, I had got my ears going one time, but uh that's back when I was cool.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Yeah. I did. I used to have a stud and we had the piercing. Just one, or did you get both done?

SPEAKER_02

No, I just get the one, to be honest.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, because that's cool, actually. Yeah, that's how you know you're cool. But yeah, I think that at the end of the day, we're we're all just trying to seek that happiness and seek that that comfort of grratitude, you know what I mean? Does that make sense? Like we're all just trying to to be happy, but there of course are moments that can humble you or be awkward.

Breaks, Comebacks, And Owning Your Terms

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. When I first saw her, I that's kind of awkward. Just everything about Alistair Lou. It was just kind of with the all that. It's a statement. It is a statement, and now I actually I like it.

SPEAKER_01

I like it too. I think it yeah, I like it too. I think it makes her more original as an individual. And she's also, I mean, she advocates for this. She's using her platform to to spread awareness about multiple things, about mental health, all of that because um yeah, exactly. Yeah, LGBTQ plus. There are a lot of things that she's standing on, standing behind. And no matter what you believe, it's cool to see somebody firm in their beliefs, um, and standing tall for what they believe.

SPEAKER_00

100%.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and using their platform, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And not only with her, but there's a lot of major celebrities that are now doing that, you know, a lot of it is with mental health.

SPEAKER_01

Yes. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

You know what I mean? Absolutely. So very, very important. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

But kind of going back to having some awkward moments, you know, that can happen in like everyday life, that can happen in big spotlights, you know what I mean.

SPEAKER_00

Oh no, do I have a story? You talk about awkward moments.

SPEAKER_01

No, you can go ahead. That's what this is kind of me.

SPEAKER_00

All right, handing it off. Yes, handing it off. So, anyways, I got this text today. And now the other day you were there, you were the one taking the pictures. No, I'm not sure. Not only you weren't, it was the woman that brought the shamrock shakes to the radio station to kind of talk about the shamrock shake. Yeah. Just what's going on? Oh, the shamrock shake is uh they do it for the Ronald McDonald House. McDonald's, every every shake they sell, they donate 25 cents to the Ronald McDonald's house here locally in in our area in upstate New York, is where we are. So um, yeah, you know, and they reach out to the radio stations and they say, Okay, we're gonna bring by how many shakes do you want? I said, All right, I'll take six. So they brought in six shakes and uh we hand them out, and you got to get a photo. You do the photo thing and you post it, and you know, hey, you know what? We support this, you know.

SPEAKER_01

I'm having a shake and share the message, all others.

SPEAKER_00

Yep, exactly, exactly. So uh yeah, that's all fine and dandy, so to speak. And then today I get a text, and uh, if you go to my Facebook, if you if you go to Skip Clark, you'll see it on there. I I happen to post it, but my fly was down. So um, and and the thing, stop. So um, the thing is you didn't really notice, but somebody zoomed in on my crotch, and then they sent it to somebody else who in turn texted to me and I put it up on the Facebook. And um, I'm just I'm gonna go there right now.

SPEAKER_01

What did you say on Facebook?

Gen Z Icons And Cultural Signals

SPEAKER_00

Uh I'm gonna tell you, hang on, hang on, I gotta go there. I gotta go there right now. Let me just make sure this turned out. Okay, so so I I bring it up. If you go to my Facebook, you can read along with me if you want, but uh it says, uh, good to know someone's paying attention to the details. This is me. Uh all I can say is skip happens.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

All right. Uh appreciate the zipper surveillance boss laughing my ass off. All right. So there's a close-up shot and it shows me now. Nothing is peeking out. Stop. Um, but but somebody uh this these some of these comments. Here you go. Uh, your peeper is trying to peep out. Uh the dragon one. So I know I'm just reading. I can you can read them if you go online and you can see this for yourself. But I'm not embarrassed. I don't care. It happens to everybody.

SPEAKER_01

So let me ask you, would you does it happen to everybody that their fly goes down, or does it happen to everybody that it gets posted to social media?

SPEAKER_02

I mean, oh my gosh.

SPEAKER_01

If when he told me this when I I found out today, today, right before the show, and I'm like, no.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

So I was like, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So it was towards towards the end of my shift, and um, you know, ladies are leaving the the building, they look in the studio and they start laughing.

SPEAKER_02

They go, Oh, the picture's awesome.

SPEAKER_00

And they walk out, what are you talking about? You didn't see it, you didn't you didn't check your text, and then I saw it, and then I said, Oh, I love this. So I'm not afraid to post that. And and I did that for a reason.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Because it happens to everybody, it happens to every one of us. Let me ask you, would you tell somebody that their fly's down? Let's say I was standing there and my fly was down. Would you go, uh, skip your fly's down?

SPEAKER_01

No.

SPEAKER_00

Why not? Well, what? You're gonna let me walk around all day with with the fly down because you don't really notice it. And I wear loose shirts and you know, usually things are covered up.

SPEAKER_01

Skip.

SPEAKER_00

But what?

SPEAKER_01

I don't know. Would you would you tell me that my fly is down?

SPEAKER_00

Yes, I tell Miss Becky, I tell Miss Becky every day her fly's down.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my god.

Hair, Identity, And Statement Style

SPEAKER_00

Because she has like don't pick on her. No, but she she's the woman at our front desk. But uh she has uh for a while there, she was wearing the pants that had the safety pin and it was holding the zipper clothes. You would not, I mean, it doesn't have to be me, it could be anybody walking around the building. You just wouldn't go, I don't think so. I just want you to know your flies down.

SPEAKER_01

No. No.

SPEAKER_00

I know that sounds awful. I know that sounds awful. What if it was another woman?

SPEAKER_01

No.

SPEAKER_00

You wouldn't even tell, let's say it was.

SPEAKER_01

I I think I don't know. Flies a woman to woman because of the area, so it's kind of I don't know. I just like I don't know. I just oh I don't know.

SPEAKER_00

Don't you think it's more awkward? Or is it more awkward to say something?

SPEAKER_01

It's more awkward to say something. You just let it You don't need to bring attention to it. Let's just move on. Let's just move on. Well, let's just just listen. If you were in a rush, I get it. Things happen, you know?

SPEAKER_00

Alright. And uh why why would you say nothing? It's afraid of embarrassing the person, not knowing them well enough, not wanting to make it up.

SPEAKER_01

I think it also depends on the person. Like I would would you tell a stranger that they're they're flies down. You know, that's a good point. No. They're you wouldn't tell a stranger.

SPEAKER_00

Well, I mean, uh if I don't know them, it'd be like, the guy's flies down. I don't know. I guess it would depend on the situation. If I was standing next to buddy, somebody and they're like, let's say we're at a store and I'm waiting in line to cash out. All right, whatever. The guy next to me is flies down. I may go, hey buddy, just let you know he flies down.

SPEAKER_01

Is that the most embarrassing thing you've ever done? Is have you fly down and then get it? That's not even embarrassing.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, it's not like all right.

Advocacy, Mental Health, And Voice

SPEAKER_01

Okay, everybody, please comment. Is that embarrassing? I don't, I don't yeah, seriously. Is it because some people might say it is, but some people might say it is. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Who you're with. I think that's you're you live very unfiltered, very shameless.

SPEAKER_01

And I we all live for it. That's why we all love you.

SPEAKER_00

But I don't know. Some people So you would expect your best friend to say something, right? If you had something going on, your your BFF, you would be like, God, why didn't you say something? Or or she would say something to you, I mean woman to woman, or whatever, even if it was a guy. Um what if it was a coworker? Maybe you could quietly pull them aside and go, hey, Skip, just let you know your your flies down. Nothing's hanging out, but your flies down. Oh my god. That's kind of 50-50 when you think about it. All right.

SPEAKER_01

For sure.

SPEAKER_00

Some people say something, others will keep walking. Just kind of like, I don't know, it's not my problem. Don't know the guy.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Social etiquette.

SPEAKER_00

If the problem oh, I did not, I just looked this up. They have a 10-second rule. Do you know about the 10-second rule?

SPEAKER_01

What's the 10-second rule?

SPEAKER_00

Okay, 10-second rule. Um social etiquette says if the problem can be fixed in 10 seconds or less, you should tell them. For example, the fly is down. How about something in teeth? You you know, the women are always like, I can't follow my teeth. You know, they are. They're like, Don't I space it?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, they're like, Can you help me?

SPEAKER_00

Come on, have you ever done that?

SPEAKER_01

Um have I ever told somebody?

SPEAKER_00

Yes, like hey, look at me.

SPEAKER_01

No, everybody's gonna hate me by the end of this because I just like I just ignore the abnormal stuff. I just move on. Like, all right.

SPEAKER_00

It doesn't what about what about somebody's shirt tag hanging out? I've had people come up to me at work and go, your tag's out. Like you wear these t-shirts on top.

Awkward Moments And Everyday Etiquette

SPEAKER_01

You know what I mean? But I don't know. I don't know. I think it depends on the person and how much I I engage with that person and how what what we're gonna do.

SPEAKER_00

What about toilet paper on the shoe? I mean, how could they not see it? How could they not see it? Well, I mean, come on. All right, would you tell somebody they have a bad haircut? No.

SPEAKER_01

No, would you tell somebody that they had a bad tattoo?

SPEAKER_00

No. No. And that that's a great thing. Would you tell somebody uh the shirt is stained and it won't come out? If the shirt is stained and it won't come out, would you tell somebody about that? No, probably not.

SPEAKER_01

No, but I we could dye it.

SPEAKER_00

No, Miss Becky would say, take it off. I'll take it on when I'll clean it up for you. Um, I'll wrinkle the clothes. You know, I we used to have a guy that worked with us uh every day he'd come in, nothing was ironed. It's just like, dude, did you everything was like just wrinkled? Like, you know how you get something out of the dry shirts sometimes and don't iron them, they kind of wrinkle up. Yeah. So, anyways, would you want somebody to tell you?

SPEAKER_01

I think it depends. I don't know. I just I kind of live like I just live shamelessly. Like, I don't care about kind of doing embarrassing things sometimes. And I think like other people doing things, I just kind of like bypass it, you know what I mean? It's kind of like that thing in your brain where you notice, like, say you're reading something and you know that a word is spelled incorrectly, but your brain just like automatically kind of like ignores it and thinks that it's the word that it's supposed to be. Does that make sense? Like, that's kind of what I do. Like it because it doesn't like your fly being down, doesn't bother, like it's not impacting me. That's embarrassing for you. So why which sounds better? But what if you're uh or your you having something in your teeth, like depending on what we're doing now, if we're about to go on camera, that's different. Like, yeah. But if you're just hanging out with your friends and somebody's got, you know, a little stain on their shirt.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, I don't care about that. If I'm out back having a few beers with my buddies, yeah, just chilling. It is what it is. But what if you're at um you know, at a meeting and somebody was up on up in front and they're giving uh some sort of presentation and uh the zipper's down. What would be like, oh my god, is zippers down? Is that you just be whispering amongst yourselves? That's when somebody would be embarrassed.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Because when they come off that uh podium or whatever, wherever, whatever, whenever, um, and somebody goes, Hey, dude, you know, you're updated all the time. Your fly was down. It'd be like, oh my god. And I've seen artists do that on stage.

SPEAKER_01

Have their have their fly on.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, oh yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

But do you go, hey?

SPEAKER_01

No, you just kind of ignore it. You just kind of they try or they kind of make a joke, which is always, you know.

SPEAKER_00

So that was that was my day. I mean, that's how it all wrapped up today. So it was just, you know, there's always hey, if it's me, there's always something going on.

SPEAKER_01

It's always it's fun. Yeah.

The Shamrock Shake Photo Fiasco

SPEAKER_00

I'll be yelling out the door, Miss Ray, you need to come here a moment. I I've got an issue. But that's what makes it fun.

SPEAKER_02

It does.

SPEAKER_00

It's not like, you know. And you you just came on board not too long ago, so yeah. You know, so you're seeing it all.

SPEAKER_01

I do. I get to see uh everyone's true colors. I now know everybody. I'm kind of used to the routine, which is really uh nice. It's very nice to kind of just like just everything kind of work in that aspect, you know?

SPEAKER_00

So that's good. Yeah, so I mean, it was just this whole conversation from being serious in the beginning, coming down to uh something that really happened, which is kind of humorous, and um, you know, but it happens to everybody, it could happen to you, it could happen to me, I don't know. You know, somebody else in my boxing briefs. Do I care? No, I don't know.

SPEAKER_01

Because I mean, we could always bring it back to AI. Are we sure it's not AI? Are we sure somebody's not some definition of it? How do I? You're right.

SPEAKER_00

How do I know that somebody did not? This person from another radio station did not uh go on AI and make it look like that.

SPEAKER_01

Now, sure, our company was the one that posted it.

SPEAKER_00

And if it is on Wolves Facebook, it is on the Wolves Facebook.

SPEAKER_01

Takes it back.

SPEAKER_00

No, there's no take it back. And I don't care. I don't care. I made fun of it. Yeah, I don't care. I'm not sure.

SPEAKER_01

Because it happens, it happens.

SPEAKER_00

That's why Skip Happens.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And speaking about Skip Happens, just real quickly, uh, if you haven't checked it out last night on Skip Happens, uh I take a moment out of the week to talk to the artists that are on their way to making it big. Just give this a quick listen. I got too much.

SPEAKER_02

He goes down lazy. But then the last day continuously.

To Tell Or Not To Tell

SPEAKER_00

That's the name of it. The group that I included last night, if you're going to our podcast, well, heaven, if you're going to their podcast, uh you can check that out as well. They are called July, July Moon, uh, three young ladies, Nashville, and uh they're making it big. And that you know, they they they're inspired by uh Miranda Lambert. This is you know, so you can hear that there. So yeah, it's all part of what I do, Skip Happens, and then the other part is what we just did here for you tonight. And we started out talking about of course, give us the rundown.

SPEAKER_01

We talked about Jim Carrey and some conspiracy theories. We talked about Bruno Mars's amazing comeback and his his new album that he came out with. Make sure to go check that out. We talked about taking time for yourself and kind of looking at life from another perspective, you know what I mean? Kind of saying, like, am I doing the right thing? Should I dive in head first to this next thing and do what I need to do, or should I take a break? You know what I mean? There's no right or wrong to both of those, but those are both options. And we talked about how we're all just trying to be happy at the end of the day, and you know, all of us gotta do whatever we gotta do to fill that satisfaction.

SPEAKER_00

So skip supply was down. That's what we wrap.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, oh yeah, and then we wrapped up with you know, amidst that happiness, amidst trying to get all these great things, um, reality hits and embarrassing things. Well, not embarrassing things, but life can happen. And yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, life happens, skip happens. It's what it's all about. Everybody, don't forget to subscribe, go online, go to youtube.com, uh, give us a little uh little like, uh, click the subscribe button. We're getting so close to a thousand. So if we can get there, help us out. Uh Ms. Ray, it's good to see you again. Skip happens. Make sure you subscribe, as I mentioned, and uh next week, same time, same place, probably. Uh maybe some changes down the road, but we'll talk to you about that real soon. It's gonna be pretty exciting. So thanks for watching.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, thanks everyone. We'll see you next time. Bye.
