Show Notes

The South Australian Tourism Plan 2020 was published in 2014 after extensive consultation with over 400 members of the tourism industry. At the time the South Australian Visitor Economy was worth $5.1 billion, and the plan set an ambitious target of reaching $8.0 billion by December 2020.

Since then, growth has been substantial. Latest visitor results show the visitor economy is now worth $7.2 billion, on track to achieve the $8.0 billion target.

With 2020 fast approaching, the Tourism Commission has worked with industry and the broader community to prepare the next South Australian Tourism Plan. This will set the vision for the South Australian visitor economy through to the year 2030.

On this week’s episode of Our State Rodney Harrex, Chief Executive of the South Australian Tourism Commission and Brent Hill, Executive Director Marketing at the South Australian Tourism Commission give listeners a preview of what tourism will look like by 2030 and what strategic priorities the Commission has identified to drive growth in the sector over the next decade.
