Show Notes

South Australia’s inaugural Space Week - held from 27 September to 3 October 2019 - brings together a diverse range of people in the space sector, including industry leaders, researchers, scientists, teachers and students across a series of events.

The 8th Space Forum, held on Monday 30 September, is the centrepiece of Space Week and, for the first time, was held jointly with 19th Australia Space Research Conference.

The forum featured a full day of presentations and expert panels, with a focus on stimulating ideas, sharing information about emerging technologies and discussing industry trends. It included the largest exhibition area, featuring 35 companies, organisations and education institutions. Students had the chance to learn about current and future careers within the space industry during Space Passport sessions.

At the forum Premier Steven Marshall announced that a leading US-based satellite company, Tyvak, will establish a satellite manufacturing facility in South Australia.

Hear South Australian Space Industry Centre Chief Executive, Richard Price, Tyvak Chief Operating Officer, Marco Villa and Fleet Space Technologies Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer Flavia Tata Nardini explain more about Space Week and why space is so important to South Australia.
