The global COVID-19 pandemic is having a profound effect on the lives of people all over the world. Current evidence suggests that smoking is significantly associated with increased severity of the virus if contracted. There has never been a better time to quit smoking for good and there is help available in SA to achieve this goal.  Clinton Cenko, Manager Tobacco Control Unit at DASSA, and Dr Jacquie Bowden, Deputy Director of the Health Policy Centre SAHMRI, discuss this issue on this week's Our State.
