Good morning and welcome to Fresh Mercy Podcast, where God's mercy is fresh for you each and every morning.

SPEAKER_00

Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. Good morning from the Fresh Mercy Podcast. This is your hosts, Donnie and Vinny, and we love you guys. God bless. Good night. Now, here's the thing: there's pros and cons to having the boys here.

SPEAKER_01

Yes.

SPEAKER_00

The pro is that the boys did an awesome job. We have an audience and it's fantastic.

SPEAKER_01

I love it. I wish they could come every week with us.

SPEAKER_00

But they can. Here's the con. Vinny said yesterday was the Tuesday episode. It wasn't.

SPEAKER_01

It was Wednesday.

SPEAKER_00

It was the Wednesday because we forgot because Barry, thanks a lot, Barry. He did Monday. And it drew us off track. So here's the thing. Today is what day is it? Monday. Monday was Barry. Tuesday was Vinny teaching. When I taught was Wednesday. Now the reason why it's so important that we get the days right is because we released them on those days. Yes. And then also on Wednesday we read Lamentations chapter three.

SPEAKER_01

Yes. So we're going to go there. I'm going to read it. I made the mistake. I said taco Tuesday. Time. I don't even eat tacos on Tuesday.

SPEAKER_00

So I eat tacos every day. So forgive us that we messed up the days. Yes. But it's the boys' fault.

SPEAKER_01

Look, I'll put on myself. But look, we did the we've been doing the podcast since 2019. It's the first time we had a little slip-up. That's why I said it's the boys' fault. We're the best. Okay, we're gonna read the scripture. I gotta read it because you're teaching. Oh, yeah, I'm teaching. So wait, what's today? So let's go.

SPEAKER_00

We're reading Lamentations, chapter 3, verse 22, 23, and 24. Hallelujah. As you guys know, this inspired the name of the podcast. Yes. And this is the reason why we do the podcast to let you guys know that God's mercy is fresh for you each morning. So let us go and let us read the verse. Amen. Verse 22. The faithful love of the Lord never ends, his mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness, his mercies begin afresh each morning. I say to myself, the Lord is my inheritance, therefore I will hope in him. Hallelujah. You have hope in God because his mercy is fresh for you each and every morning. Go to him, give him your heart, resist the devil, humble yourself, and God will lift you up. Amen. That was a call back to last yesterday's episode. I was just saying last week.

SPEAKER_01

Well, praise the Lord. As you guys remembered from the fake Tuesday episode. Yeah, or no, it was the fake. That was the real Tuesday episode. The Lord showed me to do uh a mini-series on hindrance, and we learned that one of the things that can hinder you is jealousy. The set second thing we're learning that can hinder you is pride. Being prideful. Absolutely. And if the person didn't watch that episode, I just want to go our goals hand in hand.

SPEAKER_00

I talked about humility to humble yourself. Now you're talking about the opposite, which is pride. Amazing.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, the Lord is in control and we trust in him. So just to give you guys an understanding, what is hindrance? So look what it means. A hindrance is a person or a thing that interferes with, slows down, or acts as an obstacle to progress or an action. So the stop of progress. So something can hinder you. Get in the way, an obstacle in your way to stop a progress, a delay, a slowdown, or held back. You ever hear Gajou where he says, Yeah, I I didn't fit I didn't finish so-and-so grade. I got held back. Why? He didn't do the work. Something stopped him from graduating to the next grade. He got held back.

SPEAKER_00

Or did you ever see a TV show where he's calling, hey man, you're holding me back. Yeah. Where he thinks he's better than the other friend. You're holding me back. I want to. So he leaves him. Absolutely. He's holding back. Well, there's something in our life that holds us back, and that's pride.

SPEAKER_01

And pride will stop spiritual growth. Pride will stop your prayer life. And pride can really hinder and stop fellowship with God. And look what the word pride means. The meaning of pride. The Greek root word for pride is to rise up to exalt. To exalt. It also means to be arrogant. To exalt means to lift up. To lift up yourself. It means to be arrogant. Nasty. A lot of people like that. Also means swelling. You ever hear of the mano when someone's prideful? That guy's a swollen head. It's a swelling of the head, thinking you're better than everybody. Pride makes you think that you're better than the next guy. Who's that guy think he is to tell me? Who's that guy think he is? Who's this girl think she is? And you think you're better than everyone else. Everyone is beneath you. Everyone is under you. And this is not like Christ. This is the total opposite. Because the Bible says that Christ was humble, and he was so humble that he came and lived our lives for us and died as a sinner. And he did not commit no sin. And he took our sin upon him because he was humble. Well, pride, you think you're better than everyone else. Now a lot of people said I heard people say this. Look, now the guy is a servant. I don't have pride in my ministry. I take pride in my little jewelry. I take pride in my uh my my tie. I take pride in my car. Lord, that's nice. But let me ask you guys a question. If you're dressed full in white, like we all went to California, everyone had white suits. I didn't have a white suit. Had a silver gray monument. I missed the memo. If I'm wearing all white, I have white either. I had beige. Yeah, it looks good. You look good. You look beautiful. So now I go to the diner wearing all white and I dip a French fry in the ketchup. And the ketchup gets on my sleeve. It's over. No, I dip the ketchup and now there's ketchup on my hand. This happened before. And you wipe your hand. But let me ask you a question. That little ketchup on my hand, if I don't wipe it, how long will it be until it's on my sleeve?

SPEAKER_00

30 seconds.

SPEAKER_01

How long from the sleeve to the shirt and to the collar and to the tie? A little bit of pride is never good. So if you're a servant of the Lord and say, Well, I don't have pride in ministry, but I got pride in my business, that's pride. Get rid of it. It's going to get to your ministry. Pride is pride. Pride is pride. No one don't you have to have pride. You gotta be proud. The Bible's against it. The Bible rebukes it. The Bible is totally against pride. I don't care how much money you got. I don't care how smart you are. I don't care who you are. If you have pride, you're against God. It was pride. Look what C.S. Lewis said. Pride made the devil the devil. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Turned Lucifer into the accuser, Satan.

SPEAKER_01

It was pride, nothing else. You have pride. It's a little characteristic of Satan. It's the character of Satan's pride. Very powerful. When we say the character of Jesus is humble, the character of Satan is pride. Oh, then you got a little pride. Get rid of it. It's hindering you. It's messing up your prayer life. It's messing up your fellowship. It's messing up your spiritual growth.

SPEAKER_00

What does the scripture say? A little yeast can destroy the whole batch. Absolutely. Even a little can destroy the whole batch.

SPEAKER_01

We believe in the promises of the Bible. You guys believe them? Do we believe that John 3.16 is true? That if you believe you shall be saved, do we believe that God shall supply all our needs? Well, look what the Bible says about pride. Proverbs chapter 16, verse 18. Pride goes before destruction. And a haunty spirit, meaning proud. Before the fall. The boys want to clap, but they're scared because they don't want to hear the song. The Bible's true. If you have pride in your life, destruction's coming. If you have a proud spirit, no one's better than me. Who's this guy think he is? I'm a big shot. I got all the money. I'm this. I'm smarter. Oh, it's coming. Oh, that fall's coming. And then, especially to the servants of God. Whatever your positions in the church. You want to hear this, Donnie? Let me hear it. The Lord showed me something many years ago. I wrote it down. Wherever pride is, replacement is around the corner. Did you guys get that? Wherever pride is, replacement is around the corner. It's not far. It's right there. Right is waiting. You'll be replaced. We've seen great men of God because of pride, it was removed.

SPEAKER_00

Uh Vinny. Let me explain to you how strong pride is. And here's the major issue that we have, especially I'm in a gom. At the beginning of our life, the number one goal for Rom is Bari Mansa. That's it. And so so bari mansa pride. That's it. Absolutely. We're meant right away from the beginning of our lives as Rom to want the best, eat the best, dress the best, have the best. And praise the Lord that God blesses us. But when we start putting our faith in those things, and we start desiring those things, that's not the characteristic of a servant. That's a characteristic of a gypsy. It's not the characteristic of a Christian.

SPEAKER_01

Absolutely. James, we're back in James. James chapter 4, verse 6. But he gives more grace. Therefore, it says, God opposes the proud. You know what the word opposes means? He disapproves. He's against. God is against you if you have pride in your life. He's not for you. He's not behind you. That's why you have a hindrance in your life. God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble. We learned uh who gave the teaching about grace? Oh, Sonny Haynes. Sonny taught us about grace. He taught us how much we needed, and we need to receive it every day and ask God for grace. Well, look what the Bible says. If you're humble, he gives grace to the humble. He doesn't give grace to the proud. He doesn't give grace to the guy that thinks he's better. Total opposite. He don't give grace to the woman that thinks she's the big shot on top of everybody. No, he gives grace to the humble. And I want to close with this quote from C.S. Lewis because I don't want to go over time. I hate talking too much. C.S. Lewis said this is totally unbelievable. As long as you are proud, you cannot know God. A proud man is always looking down on things and people. And of course, as long as you're looking down, you cannot see something that is above you. Did you guys get that? Ready?

SPEAKER_00

Say that again, Vinny.

SPEAKER_01

You guys are not paying attention. A proud man is always looking down on things and people. And of course, as long as you're looking down, you cannot see something that is above you. When you're looking down at people, you know what's above you? God. You can't see God. You won't see God. Because God's opposed the problem. Phenomenal. So now, when you're looking down at people, that guy's a no good. God's above. You're not looking at God. You're looking down. You're looking down at people. God's above. Well, you took your eyes off the Almighty Creator.

SPEAKER_00

That's it. And you put it on other men to look down on them.

SPEAKER_01

Don't look down on no one no more. You know what the Bible says? We gotta fix this. We gotta fix this. Or virus, you're the one. Don't think you're better than everybody. You're not that important. That's one of the scripture says. You're not that important. Who are we? We're sinners in need of grace. We're sinners in need of a savior. If you have body mansa and if you have a lot of pride, repent. It's hindering your walk with God. It's hindering your prayer life. Maybe you're praying for something and you're saying, How come my prayer is not being answered? Develop a body mansa and do church. Get rid of it. Be delivered from it. Repent from it. God will take it away from you if you ask Him. Give it to the Lord today. And that was part two of this series.

SPEAKER_00

And back to Sonny Haynes' teaching last week. He said that the grace of God is available to everybody. Amen. Everybody. So today, you're able to receive this grace. Amen. You're able to receive this. You're able to say, Lord, take this out of my heart today. Lord, show me on how to be humble. I want to be like you. I want to strive like you. I want to strive for righteousness. I want to hunger and thirst for righteousness. I don't want to have this bitterness in my heart. I don't want to have this uh characteristic of the enemy. Give it to the Lord now, as we go before the Lord and pray. So let us pray. Heavenly Father, Jesus, we come before your throne of grace, Lord. And we pray right now, Mugodadivila, in the name of Jesus, that this will not delay us anymore. That we will not be hindered anymore, Mogodad. We pray, Father God, right now against pride, Mogodil. And I pray that you give us a humble spirit and heart, Mogodil. Humble us, Mogodadivlah, to the point where we can only look to you, Mogadil. Lord Jesus, I pray now for my brothers and sisters, Mogodil, that you show them, Mogodadivla, what it means to truly be a Christian, to truly be a Christ follower. Not the Karaz Bari Matza, but instead to strive and live for you. Bless my brothers and sisters, bless my fellow servants, and bless the people that's inspired to be servants, Mogodad. Use them in this area for your glory. In the name of Jesus. Amen and amen.

SPEAKER_01

Praise the Lord. We thank God for you. Have a blessed day. We love you guys. God bless.
