SPEAKER_00Praise the Lord. Very, very excited to share the podcast today. Thank the Lord for God giving us the opportunity. Like always. Hallelujah. I want to talk to you guys on a very personal level today. And I want to start off the week on a very personal level, Vinny. Oh, I like it. If I had to name or title this message, I would have titled it as a slow leak. A slow leak. Slow leak.
SPEAKER_01Like a faucet. Like a leak from a faucet. Shut up.
SPEAKER_00A slow leak is this. That I have a tire. And I'm driving. And it'll come up on the dashboard that my I'm losing tire. I'm losing tire pressure. And I'm whatever. It's a slow leak. I'll take it to the mechanic and I'll say it's a slow leak. So I'll go and I'll check it. Alright, you know what? It's good for right now. I don't have to finish it. I don't have to adjust it. I don't have to fix it, I don't gotta do nothing. And I'll drive and I'll go about my life and I'll do whatever I gotta do. Then I see it slowly, slowly losing more air, losing more air, losing more air, until eventually I'll wake one day, the tire will be flat, or God forbid, I'll be driving and I'll get a blowout. So what I'm trying to say is that slowly but surely it started getting worse and worse and worse and worse and worse to the point where it needed to be addressed.
SPEAKER_01But it started with a leak.
SPEAKER_00But it started off very, very small. And I know this is a very upbeat morning show, and I thank God for it. But I may in our Christian walk sometimes we have that slow leak. Very good. That slow slow of instead of reading three times a day, you read one time a day. Very good. Take your time, Donnie. Let the Lord use you minister in the name of Jesus. Praying and worshiping first thing in the morning. Was it while we're in the car on the way to work, it's a fast prayer. And look, am I saying that that's a big thing or it's backsliding? No. But what it is, it's a slow leak. Very good, Deacon. When we first become Christians or when you first become servants of God, we're excited. We're everything is excitement. Everything is, I can't believe what's happening. Everything is like I thank the Lord for God is using me in this way. And look what Psalms 42, verse 1 and 2 says. As the deer pants for the water brooks, so my soul pants for you, oh. Hallelujah, Jesus. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God, when I shall when I shall come to Him and appear before Him. So look what the Scripture is saying that we should be so excited. The way a deer runs towards water to get thirst, oh, when the deer's thirsty, or when a deer runs towards the water, when it's finally sees it, when it's thirsty, oh I can't believe it, and it goes there. That's how we should be when we go to God. Amen. When we have that encounter with God, when we become Christians. But here's the problem a lot of times that excitement, it gets maybe a little dull or a little stale. And sometimes slowly but surely, we're not in God's presence anymore. We're not so excited to get to the church. We're not so excited to get to the Bible study. We're not so excited to pick up the Bible. We're not so excited to minister to that person. We're not being the deer running to the water. Instead, instead of panting, we might be walking. There's a leak. There's a slow leak. I wrote this as the deer pants for the water for life, so shall we depend on the Lord daily. Hallelujah. We should have that excitement and that zeal and that desire every single day for God to be in his presence, to be in his word, to worship, to hear his music. We have to be excited and drilled when it comes to the Lord. But sometimes life gets in the way and it happens. I want to look at a biblical reference to this. Come on. This might be the first time we're using this book on the podcast. I like that stat. Revelation. I don't think we ever went to Revelation on the podcast. If you guys, if we did, check it. Fact check it. Uh I don't have to. We never went to Revelation. We never went there. Ever. We're scared. Revelation, Revelation chapter 2, verse 1 through 5. Hallelujah. Come on. And this is Jesus giving a revelation to John. And look what it says. To the angel of the church in Ephesus. Right. These words of him saying, Who holds the seven stars in his right hand, who walks among the seven golden lampstands. I, you know, I know your works. I know your patient endurance. How you cannot bear with those who are evil, but have tested those who call themselves apostles and are not. So this is God telling John to write to the church in Ephesus, and he gives a description of who he is. He holds the seven stars in his hand, he walks around the seven lampstands, he he knows their works, he knows because that they can't tolerate evil, that he knows that people came and said that they were apostles, and he went against them, and he said, Yeah, you were right for opposing them.
SPEAKER_01Very good.
SPEAKER_00And found them to be false. I know you are enduring patiently and bearing up for my namesake, and you have not grown weary. Weary. So God is telling them all the good stuff that they're doing. He's saying because they're patient, he's saying that they're enduring, he's saying that they're doing the work, he's saying that they're not involved in truth. They're not involved in evil, they're not involved in false witness, they're not involved in all this. But look what he says But I have this against you that you have abandoned the love you had at first. Jesus is telling the church that you've lost that first love, that excitement, that panting to the water, that zeal, that excitement, that desire when you're serving God. And this should be a wake-up call to every single servant. That maybe because of our years and our experience and the longevity of our service, maybe we're depending too much on our experience rather than the Holy Spirit. Maybe we're doing the work, maybe we're doing everything correctly, but maybe we're going through the emotions. Maybe we're not doing the evil things. Maybe we're not indwelling in the things of this world. In front of the eyes of man at least. But maybe there's something greater that's a problem. Maybe our love for God has gone a little cold. Because it's common. Because we made the Lord common, service common. Yeah, we made it common. We made the situation that of us being a Christian in a fallen world to be common.
SPEAKER_01Uh Donnie, I was watching uh a documentary on Netflix about WWE, one of them, because they have a hundred of them and they're all good. And you see the crew, the stage crew, they're seeing these superstars that we would love to meet, that we grew up with, that we look up to. All these Triple H and The Undertaker and The Rock and John Cena. But the crew sees them every day, it means nothing to them. Sure. Hey, what's up, John? Part of the job. It's part of the job. To us, we would be amazed to meet them. We even pay to go see them. To them, it's part of life. That's what we do with God. We're not supposed to make God common like we're just part of the crew. It is what it is. Hello, God. Yeah, see you later, Holy Spirit. That's wrong. This is where the leak comes. Yes. Like you were talking about.
SPEAKER_00Very good. Here's the issue. Instead of them becoming stars, they became common.
SPEAKER_01Yep.
SPEAKER_00We're not co-workers. We shouldn't think of ourselves co-workers with God. Very good. We're co-workers with the church. We're co-workers with each God is supreme and almighty.
SPEAKER_01Hallelujah. We're his we're his slaves.
SPEAKER_00We're his servants.
SPEAKER_01We're his servants. Praise the Lord.
SPEAKER_00But look at this list that David Goosey gives of the Blue Letter Bible. And look at it. And this is a list of how we should be and how what we how we used to be. Remember how you used to spend time in his word. Maybe we we gotta remember to get back to the Word of God. Remember how you used to pray. Maybe you're not praying as much. Remember the joy in getting together with other Christians. Maybe getting to the Bible study was like a chore now.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Too hard.
SPEAKER_00Babe Chino Manga. I've been to the last one. Guys, run to like the deer runs to the water, run to the church, run to the Bible study, run to the presence of God. Amen. Love to be with other Christians and people around one another. Remember how excited you were about telling people about Jesus. When was the last time you was really that excited to go and preach to somebody or to tell them about Jesus? Well, then. When was the last time? If you're not excited in all these things I just listed, if you're not excited to spend time in the Word or to pray or to get together with Christians or to tell people about Jesus, you're in a slow leak state. This is my suggestion.
SPEAKER_01Come on.
SPEAKER_00Spend time in the Word. Hallelujah. Pray more oftenly.
SPEAKER_01Yes, very good.
SPEAKER_00Deal with people that are Christian around you, that they can build you up because you might be going through a stage, you might be going through a funk. Deal with people. Connect with other people that's around you that can boost you up, that can pray with you. Iron sharpen other iron sharpens iron. So is another man. Amen. Amen. And remember how exciting it is to tell people about Jesus. Maybe you got the great news. You understand because you're saved. And maybe you're going through a dull state because maybe that excitement left you. But remember, there's somebody out there that's wandering in the world that has no idea the condition that they're in. They have no idea because there's a man named Jesus that can take them out of the can take away their anxiety. Deliver them. That can deliver them from a business, that can deliver them from anything, a drug addiction, anything.
SPEAKER_01Hallelujah.
SPEAKER_00Jesus is alive.
SPEAKER_01Yes, he is.
SPEAKER_00And his ministry is alive.
SPEAKER_01Amen.
SPEAKER_00Nothing's dull about the ministry of God. Nothing is dull about the word of God. No, it's not. Nothing is dull about prayer. Nope. Get excited to serve the Lord again.
SPEAKER_01Praise the Lord.
SPEAKER_00I don't know why the Lord led me here. And I don't know why the Lord led me to open up this week with this. But I'm here to tell you this. That this is a word that is straight from the Holy Spirit. Thank you, Jesus. Wake up. Amen. There's a big world out there that's fallen. There's a big world out there that needs our help. You be the witness. You'll be the light of the world. You'll be the salt of the earth. You go out there. You proclaim the gospel. Be excited to do what God has called you to do.
SPEAKER_01Today, if you feel you have a leak, if you feel that you're dull, maybe you feel you're a little gray. Sometimes you say, you know what? I'm I'm too pale. I need some sun. I gotta go to the tanning salon. Maybe you feel that spiritually, today is the day that you get out of that and that you feel better. Stop the leak and get back into the presence of God. Amen. Donnie, awesome, awesome job.
SPEAKER_00Pray for the people, Donnie. Let's go before the Lord. Heavenly Father, we come before your throne of grace, Mogodil. We give you glory, honor, and praise, Mogodad. Forgive me, Lord, if I fell into this category. Forgive Vinny. Forgive the men that's here and forgive everybody that's watching, Mogadad. Lord, we don't want to go through the emotions. We don't just want to pretend like everything is okay. But then that we know that there's a problem in the back of our mind and we're not addressing it. Lord, I come before you now, Mogodad, asking that you forgive me all my sins and my wrongs, Mogodil, that you wash and cleanse me, Mogodad, that you strengthen me spiritually, Mogodil, to go out there and do the works that you called us to do. Bless my brothers and sisters, whoever's watching this, Mogodil, whoever feels that they have a burden, desire to serve, but then life got in the way, and maybe they're not excited anymore. I pray in the name of Jesus that this message would get them excited. Hallelujah. That it would get them back to your presence, Mogodad. That you use them and bless them for your glory in Jesus' name.
SPEAKER_01Amen and amen. Amen and amen. Praise the Lord from First Mercy Podcast. We love you. God bless. See you tomorrow.
