Good morning and welcome to Fresh Mercy Podcast, where God's mercy is fresh for you each and every morning.
SPEAKER_01Good morning, everybody. And this is the Fresh Mercy Podcast. Hallelujah. I'm more excited now than I was yesterday. Yesterday was great. Yesterday I knew that it was a message from the Lord that had to be get out there. And this is the platform that God has given us. And I thank the Lord that we were sensitive to the Holy Spirit. Sometimes we have to give we love always to give encouraging, upbeat messages.
SPEAKER_00But then we have to give lessons.
SPEAKER_01A lot of times we have to be very sensitive to the Holy Spirit. Amen. And the Holy Spirit put that on my heart to share with you guys. So if you feel like you're in somewhat of a backslidden state, or if you feel in a dull state, or maybe like a a lack for a better word, a lazy spiritual state, go back and watch yesterday's episode.
SPEAKER_00Yes, and you said something so scary. What did I say? You said maybe you feel you're in a lazy spiritual state.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00That's what we're learning about today. No way. Absolutely. God has a God has a word for life. God has a word for the people today. And I'm continuing the series that I started a few weeks ago on hindrance. Yes. If you guys uh didn't watch a couple weeks ago back, God has led me to do a five uh five teachings on what hinders you. And last week we learned that jealousy will hinder you, pride will hinder you, and tonight we're well, today we're learning that laziness will hinder you. Fantastic. Now, if we didn't watch those other episodes, I just want to do a recap on what is a hindrance. And this is what a hindrance is a hindrance is a person or a thing that interferes with, slows down, or acts as an obstacle to stop a progress or an action. So you're going, you're going, you're going, something gets in the way. Like you have a leak in the tire, and the tire blows out, and now you're stopped in the road. That's a hindrance. It delayed you. It delayed you from getting to church, it delayed you from getting home, it delayed you to get to a job, it delayed, it delayed you. It's a hindrance. It means slow down and held back. So if you want to grow spiritually, if you want to get better with the Lord, if you want to walk better with Christ, laziness will bring hindrance to that. It will delay it, it will delay your spiritual growth, it will delay your prayer life, and it will delay fellowship with God. And I have to say something. If you're praying for something that you need in your life, and there's something hindering it, that's the cause. Because I believe it was in the book of Isaiah where Babot addresses, where God told him, or the angel told him, We heard your prayer, but it was a delay. Yeah. So God heard your prayer. There's something that's holding you back to get your prayer answered. Be delivered today in the name of Jesus. And we're gonna learn about laziness. Now, I wanted to talk about this. I want to talk about people that have goals. Gage. There's a lot of Gage out there that's want to be stockbrokers. So the main guy, the main stockbroker, the main investor is Warren Buffett. Yeah. He's the guy to look up to. Right, he's a standard. Yes. Warren Buffett is worth $140 billion. That's $140,000 million. Imagine make a million dollars $140,000 times. That's what he's worked. So whoever wants to be an investor wants to be him. I only got half of that. Yeah, I know. I get a little bit of it. If you want to be a baseball player, a pitcher, Nolan Ryan has the most records. Okay. Nolan Ryan has 5,714 strikeouts. Funny way you wrote down the stats. I had to write it down. Tom Brady holds the record of the most wins of NFL history. Do you know the victories? How many? No.
SPEAKER_01Total regular season.
SPEAKER_00Do you know regular season? You guys know? John, you know, John? Tom Brady, how many? Oh, close. 289. Wow. So whoever wants to be a football player, they want to be Tom Brady. And maybe someone wants to start a restaurant chain. They look up to McDonald's. Everyone has someone to look up to. So what does the Bible tell the lazy person who to look up to? Very good. Someone that's lazy, who do they look up to? Who is their inspiration? Who does a lazy person how who do they look up to? Proverbs chapter 6, verse 6. Go to the ant, oh sluggard. So the Bible tells the lazy person, go be the ant. Go be an ant. Why? Consider her ways and be wise. Without having any chief, officer, or ruler, she prepares her bread in summer and gathers her food and harvest. How long will you lie there, oh sluggard or lazy person, or lazy bones? When will you arise from your sleep? A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest, and poverty will come upon you like a robber and want like an armed man. So the lazy person needs to be like an ant. If you're lazy today, an ant is better than you. The major thing, the big thorn that I have in my flesh is laziness. There's an ant out there better than me. Because the ant goes to work every day. There's people don't work, don't want to do nothing, don't want to do there's ants better than you. And the Bible is against you. And I'll tell you why. There's never one time that laziness in the Bible is praised. Right. It's always looked down upon. It's always looked down upon about laziness. We're lazy to do anything. And why does the Bible say oh sluggard? A sluggard is a person who is habitually lazy, meaning they're always lazy. Inactive or slow moving, often characterized by oversleeping or avoiding work.
SPEAKER_01See, that's what I was gonna mention, Vinny. And I'm very happy that you went to that point. Because rest and laziness is two different things. Absolutely. The Bible even says that God rests after creation, and then he gave us a day of rest. So rest and laziness is two different things. You're seeing rest is after a person has worked, done his job, done her job, and after they put in the full days, okay, you know what? Now we can sit back and we rest, and God has given us that privilege to do that. Absolutely. That's a beautiful privilege from God that we could rest. But when all you do is rest, it's not rest no more, it's laziness. It's laziness. Yeah. Very good, Vinny.
SPEAKER_00Now, is this podcast talking about go to work? Go to work. But the goal here is to talk the spiritual part. We're lazy when it comes to prayer. The spiritual work. Very good, Donnie. We're lazy when it comes to prayer. We're lazy when it comes to reading the Bible. We're lazy when it comes to retreats and revivals. I know people right now is watching. You haven't been in church in months and years. I spoke to someone one time they said the last time I was in church was Easter of 2023. That was three years ago. You're lazy. I want to read a commentary from the Fire Bible. This describes a lazy person as one who neglects the task that he or she should do. Does not finish what he or she started, and follows the least difficult course of action. A lazy person always finds the easy way. That's the easy way. Spiritual laziness is even more tempting than physical laziness. God calls us to search for his purposes for us with great passion and enthusiasm. God wants us to get up in the morning and say, Lord, I need you today. I'm gonna pray and I'm gonna worship you and search the scriptures and be with the Lord and walk in faith.
SPEAKER_01Amazing.
SPEAKER_00Your laziness is hindering your walk with God spiritually. Amazing how the two episodes overlap each other. You have a leak, you're backsliding, and you don't even care. That's the scary part. Yes, sir. There's people that's bats sitting right now, and they're saying, I don't care. Bodo divano, I don't care. It's scary to say that. So you don't care that you're not in fellowship with God, you don't care that you live in an evil world and you're not on the right path. You don't care that there's sickness and disease and there's anxiety and fear all around. You don't even care. You're lazy. We gotta get out of that today. We'll stand, get up and go. Uh am I supposed to go to work or pray? Do both. Go to work, pray, start your day with the Lord, start your day in the scriptures. Laziness leads to poverty.
SPEAKER_01Vinny, every person in the world has two jobs.
SPEAKER_00Come on.
SPEAKER_01The job to provide for their family, but the more important job is to serve the Lord. Amen. You if you're lazy in both, you'll get no success. Nothing. If you succeed in one and lazy in the other, I promise you that'll hinder you. Absolutely. But how will you be successful in both? When you put God first in both. Hallelujah. Amen. When you put God first in both, you put God first in your business. More importantly, when you serve the Lord, don't do it in the name of yourself or your church. You do it in the name of the Lord. Hallelujah.
SPEAKER_00Today, repent of the laziness because it's stopping your prayer life, it's stopping your spiritual growth, and it's stopping your fellowship with the Lord. And we end there. One of the laziest persons I know is me. And thank you, Jesus. I gave it to the Lord, and God has given me strength not to be lazy as much as I used to be. Laziness I seen bad in my life, spiritually and physically. Yes, sir. And I'm here to testify that when you get up extra early in the morning, you put God first, and you get rid of that laziness, God will provide. So I want to pray for everyone today that's battling with laziness, whether it's physical or spiritual, or both, or both, together. We're gonna come against it together in the name of Jesus, and we're gonna believe in the Lord today for good things. Lord, in the name of Jesus, Jesus, you showed us the example, how not to be lazy. Your father put a work before you and you accomplished it. And we see in the scripture, Kaipendandev la putrusol, it is finished. Thank you, Lord. Teach us how to be like you, not to be lazy no more. But the task put in front of us to take care of our family, take care of our bills, and take care of what we need. Let us do that, Lord, with your provision. And God, above all, let us do what you call us to do, to search for you, to pray to you, to seek you, to learn about you, to study you, to pray. Let us do that without laziness. We come against it today. In the name of Jesus, bless this day and go before us, Lord.
SPEAKER_01Amen and amen. Amen and amen. Thank you, Jesus. We thank the Lord because God is obviously getting his message out to his people. Hallelujah. Me and Vinny, like you guys know, we didn't go over these messages. We never talked about them. But that means that God is making a point. And the point is this to stop being lazy, stop being lazy spiritually, and to wake up and to pay attention to maybe there's a there, maybe there's an underlying problem that's hindering your walk with God. We love you guys from the Fresh Mercy podcast. May the Lord bless your day in Jesus' name.
SPEAKER_00Have a great day. We'll see you tomorrow.
