Show Notes

There are all sorts of things in our lives that can keep us in a state of ailment and bondage when Jesus is inviting us instead to leap up and praise God.
So, what is it in your life that might be weighing you down?
Are you like this young woman today-- looking for Jesus to enter into your life and invite you into a state of praise?

From the sermon:
This scripture has three main characters and I’m going to invite you to see who it is in this scripture that you are resonating with this morning. Where are you finding yourself?

  1. There’s the woman who is living in misery for years until the presence of Jesus results in a change that sets her free.
  2. Then there’s Jesus himself who in this scene as in others disregards the Sabbath work laws in order to perform a healing.
  3. And then there’s the naysayers, ultra-rule-followers, like the indignant leader of the synagogue, chastising Jesus for this Sabbath day healing work.

This is the seventh sermon in our series on "The Gospel of Luke" here at the Nahant Village Church.
