Incarnation and Embodiment (S6, Ep1): Advent Hope/ World AIDS Day, Rev. Megan Snell and Dr. Bruce Walker
Show Notes

In this season of Advent, what does it mean to actively wait for Jesus, both at Christmas and in the Second Coming?
Where is our hope?
How might we think about incarnation and embodiment in this season and on this World AIDS day?

This is the first sermon in our December worship series on Incarnation and Embodiment.
Along with Rev. Megan Snell, we welcome our own Dr. Bruce Walker to the pulpit to discuss his research and work on AIDS.

From the Sermon:
"I remember taking a cross country road trip some years ago and driving along the I-10 and noticing one billboard after another referring to the exact date of the Second Coming. And yet, here in our scripture this morning- it is made rather clear that no one knows when that Second Coming is happening."

"Friends, the Hope of Advent is a hope that we will renew our commitments to be faithful Christians in the world who actively await Christ in our lives through actions- seeing all God’s people as beloved, caring for one another, and being in awe of the mysteries of our faith.

Today, I invite you to listen to Dr. Walker with the Hope of Advent in your hearts, as we educate ourselves, pray, and take action in support of those who live with HIV or AIDS."

Preacher: Rev. Megan Snell, MDiv., Pastor, Nahant Village Church (UCC) and Dr. Bruce Walker
