And then I uh, discovered"},{"startTime":1367.715,"endTime":1369.7849999999999,"body":"after some diagnosis"},{"startTime":1367.715,"endTime":1369.7849999999999,"body":"that I had a brain tumor."},{"startTime":1370.0049999999999,"endTime":1372.8249999999998,"body":"And initially they thought"},{"startTime":1370.0049999999999,"endTime":1372.8249999999998,"body":"it was um, relatively benign"},{"startTime":1373.245,"endTime":1374.5449999999998,"body":"but it still needed to come out."},{"startTime":1374.5449999999998,"endTime":1376.185,"body":"So I scheduled for neurosurgery"},{"startTime":1376.185,"endTime":1377.705,"body":"and underwent that in August."},{"startTime":1378.245,"endTime":1381.0649999999998,"body":"Um, and during the surgery they"},{"startTime":1378.245,"endTime":1381.0649999999998,"body":"were able to take out most,"},{"startTime":1381.165,"endTime":1382.7849999999999,"body":"but not all of it 'cause it was close"},{"startTime":1382.8049999999998,"endTime":1384.665,"body":"to a a motor area in my brain."},{"startTime":1384.8049999999998,"endTime":1386.3449999999998,"body":"So they didn't want to paralyze me"},{"startTime":1386.365,"endTime":1387.625,"body":"and I was kind of okay with that."},{"startTime":1387.695,"endTime":1389.705,"body":"Yeah, good call. So yeah. Yeah."},{"startTime":1389.925,"endTime":1392.385,"body":"And then after the surgery"},{"startTime":1389.925,"endTime":1392.385,"body":"though, the pathology came back"},{"startTime":1392.445,"endTime":1394.5849999999998,"body":"and it was actually a cancerous tumor."},{"startTime":1394.715,"endTime":1397.745,"body":"Right. And so then I needed"},{"startTime":1394.715,"endTime":1397.745,"body":"to go for uh, six weeks"},{"startTime":1397.745,"endTime":1400.0249999999999,"body":"of radiation, daily radiation, um,"},{"startTime":1400.0949999999998,"endTime":1403.985,"body":"with oral chemotherapy"},{"startTime":1400.0949999999998,"endTime":1403.985,"body":"concurrent with that, uh, to try"},{"startTime":1403.985,"endTime":1406.0249999999999,"body":"and get the rest of the"},{"startTime":1403.985,"endTime":1406.0249999999999,"body":"tumor cells that uh,"},{"startTime":1406.0249999999999,"endTime":1407.2649999999999,"body":"they hadn't been able"},{"startTime":1406.0249999999999,"endTime":1407.2649999999999,"body":"to get through surgery."},{"startTime":1407.925,"endTime":1409.0649999999998,"body":"And so that was six weeks."},{"startTime":1409.485,"endTime":1411.8249999999998,"body":"Um, and then four every four weeks"},{"startTime":1411.8249999999998,"endTime":1415.5449999999998,"body":"after that, um, for six months,"},{"startTime":1411.8249999999998,"endTime":1415.5449999999998,"body":"uh, oral chemo for a week."},{"startTime":1415.8449999999998,"endTime":1420.5049999999999,"body":"- Wow. So how do you find"},{"startTime":1415.8449999999998,"endTime":1420.5049999999999,"body":"patients in the trial?"},{"startTime":1421.5849999999998,"endTime":1425.185,"body":"- I mean, the way it unfolded"},{"startTime":1421.5849999999998,"endTime":1425.185,"body":"was pretty dramatic. Uh, yeah."},{"startTime":1425.3249999999998,"endTime":1427.8249999999998,"body":"And you know, there was"},{"startTime":1425.3249999999998,"endTime":1427.8249999999998,"body":"definitely the shock of coming"},{"startTime":1428.2849999999999,"endTime":1429.865,"body":"to the realization for me"},{"startTime":1430.105,"endTime":1432.625,"body":"and my family that our lives has kind"},{"startTime":1432.625,"endTime":1434.625,"body":"of changed in an instant, um,"},{"startTime":1435.125,"endTime":1437.5849999999998,"body":"or our perception of what"},{"startTime":1435.125,"endTime":1437.5849999999998,"body":"our future was gonna be."},{"startTime":1438.165,"endTime":1441.115,"body":"One thing Charlene and I said,"},{"startTime":1438.165,"endTime":1441.115,"body":"uh, to each other is instead"},{"startTime":1441.115,"endTime":1444.195,"body":"of asking why us, um, it's why not us?"},{"startTime":1444.5049999999999,"endTime":1447.155,"body":"Because wow, we know we're"},{"startTime":1444.5049999999999,"endTime":1447.155,"body":"not exempt from trials"},{"startTime":1447.735,"endTime":1450.0349999999999,"body":"and struggles and sickness"},{"startTime":1450.0949999999998,"endTime":1451.475,"body":"and disease are just kind of part"},{"startTime":1451.475,"endTime":1453.2749999999999,"body":"of living in this sinful world, right?"},{"startTime":1453.2749999999999,"endTime":1455.475,"body":"And so it's not a punishment from God, uh,"},{"startTime":1455.475,"endTime":1457.875,"body":"it's just something he's"},{"startTime":1455.475,"endTime":1457.875,"body":"allowing us to walk through."},{"startTime":1458.5349999999999,"endTime":1460.675,"body":"And so I worked and we"},{"startTime":1458.5349999999999,"endTime":1460.675,"body":"worked to pay attention"},{"startTime":1460.675,"endTime":1463.5549999999998,"body":"to the way God was at work"},{"startTime":1460.675,"endTime":1463.5549999999998,"body":"in the, through the trial."},{"startTime":1463.895,"endTime":1466.955,"body":"Uh, and seeing him at work in"},{"startTime":1463.895,"endTime":1466.955,"body":"our lives in different ways"},{"startTime":1466.975,"endTime":1468.395,"body":"of provision and just, you know,"},{"startTime":1469.0149999999999,"endTime":1470.875,"body":"the little ways he says I'm here."},{"startTime":1471.915,"endTime":1474.0349999999999,"body":"'cause we knew trials are"},{"startTime":1471.915,"endTime":1474.0349999999999,"body":"something God allows in our life"},{"startTime":1474.0549999999998,"endTime":1475.155,"body":"to develop character."},{"startTime":1475.495,"endTime":1478.715,"body":"Um, so yeah, that was, that"},{"startTime":1475.495,"endTime":1478.715,"body":"was how we went through it."},{"startTime":1478.8249999999998,"endTime":1480.2749999999999,"body":"Yeah. And you know, Psalm"},{"startTime":1510.0149999999999,"endTime":1513.5949999999998,"body":"16 says, the boundary lines"},{"startTime":1513.655,"endTime":1515.3149999999998,"body":"for me have fallen in pleasant places."},{"startTime":1515.735,"endTime":1516.8349999999998,"body":"And so when I realize"},{"startTime":1516.935,"endTime":1519.435,"body":"and you know, okay, these are"},{"startTime":1516.935,"endTime":1519.435,"body":"actually just boundaries now"},{"startTime":1519.435,"endTime":1520.675,"body":"God has put around my life."},{"startTime":1521.2649999999999,"endTime":1523.915,"body":"It's learning to live"},{"startTime":1521.2649999999999,"endTime":1523.915,"body":"with contentment in there,"},{"startTime":1524.0149999999999,"endTime":1526.5549999999998,"body":"the physical, the mental"},{"startTime":1524.0149999999999,"endTime":1526.5549999999998,"body":"limitations that are new,"},{"startTime":1526.5849999999998,"endTime":1529.115,"body":"that things that I've had to um, realize"},{"startTime":1529.655,"endTime":1532.5949999999998,"body":"and there's things I used to"},{"startTime":1529.655,"endTime":1532.5949999999998,"body":"enjoy that I can no longer do,"},{"startTime":1533.215,"endTime":1535.8349999999998,"body":"but just recognizing those"},{"startTime":1533.215,"endTime":1535.8349999999998,"body":"are new, my new boundaries"},{"startTime":1536.215,"endTime":1537.635,"body":"and learning to live within them."},{"startTime":1537.895,"endTime":1541.195,"body":"- Wow. What would you"},{"startTime":1537.895,"endTime":1541.195,"body":"say to someone walking"},{"startTime":1541.195,"endTime":1542.5549999999998,"body":"through a trial today?"},{"startTime":1543.2949999999998,"endTime":1546.715,"body":"- You know, trials"},{"startTime":1543.2949999999998,"endTime":1546.715,"body":"always involve loss, uh,"},{"startTime":1546.935,"endTime":1549.0749999999998,"body":"and you know, sometimes significant loss"},{"startTime":1549.215,"endTime":1551.195,"body":"and you have to name that loss, you have"},{"startTime":1551.475,"endTime":1553.195,"body":"to identify it, you have to grieve it."},{"startTime":1553.5749999999998,"endTime":1555.395,"body":"Um, you know the things that you've lost"},{"startTime":1556.3349999999998,"endTime":1559.3149999999998,"body":"and you know, God is with"},{"startTime":1556.3349999999998,"endTime":1559.3149999999998,"body":"you in that grieving process"},{"startTime":1559.455,"endTime":1560.5549999999998,"body":"and that loss process."},{"startTime":1561.175,"endTime":1562.8349999999998,"body":"But you can't get stuck in grief"},{"startTime":1563.2949999999998,"endTime":1566.5949999999998,"body":"and you can't go back to"},{"startTime":1563.2949999999998,"endTime":1566.5949999999998,"body":"what was and try and recreate"},{"startTime":1566.975,"endTime":1569.0749999999998,"body":"or restore what there was there."},{"startTime":1569.375,"endTime":1572.715,"body":"That's not healthy.
