A Fork In Time: The Alternate History Podcast
Explore the realm of alternate histories as we explore the "what ifs" that can flow from history's most pivotal moments. Each episode will focus on a specific moment in time--the fork--where history could have taken a different path. A Fork In Time encourages contributions and participation by our community of listeners who have become an integral and vital part of the show.
This feed is also the home of our companion show, The Room Where It Happened, featuring the team looking at significant historical events without the alternative prespective.

Episode 0045—No Cigar
In 1890, Buffalo Bill's Wild West show toured Europe and during a performance in Berlin, American exhibitionist sharpshooter Annie Oakley shot the ashes off the cigar held in the mouth of a volunteer from the audience--Kaiser Friedrich Willhelm II.
What if Oakley had missed and accidentally killed the young German ruler? How might the late 19th and early 20th century have taken a different turn?
Listener Chris Coppola joins the episode to discuss this topic that he suggested.
