We recently talked to Tracey Nguyen Mang from the Vietnamese Boat People podcast, listen here. This is a special PodSwap Episode of A Vietnam Podcast where we share Tracey’s family story in the first ever episode of the Vietnamese Boat People podcast.
The Vietnamese Boat People podcast shares stories of hope, survival and resilience. Between 1975 to 1992, almost two million Vietnamese risked their lives to flee oppression and hardship after the Vietnam War, in one of the largest mass exoduses in modern history. Escaping by boat, many found freedom in foreign land, many were captured and brutally punished, and many did not survive the journey. This population of people are known as the ‘Vietnamese Boat People‘.
We’ve been fortunate enough to share the stories of Vietnamese Boat People and their children. These are often traumatic yet inspiring and we recommend listening to previous episodes from many of our guests from Tracey Nguyen, Tam Le and Sahra Nguyen in the US, Zoonie Nguyen in Canada to Nhi Mai from Switzerland and Levi Oi from Germany.
Enjoy this episode, and don’t forget to follow Seven Million Bikes and also the Vietnamese Boat People Podcast. Enjoy
