Satan says, God doesn’t care. God can be coerced. God is cruel. Look out for yourself. Make God look out for you. Look out for God’s purposes but in your own way.
I. Satan tempts Jesus to distrust God's provision, vv1-4. II. Satan tempts Jesus to force God's protection, vv5-7. III. Satan tempts Jesus to deny God's good purposes, vv8-9.
