To depend on the hospitality of another is difficult for many of us; we’d rather be the giver than the receiver. But throughout the scriptures, even when the people of God are the recipients of someone else’s hospitality, what they give back is far greater in value than what they receive. Is it ever permissible—or even possible—that the people of God would benefit from the kindness of others more than they could give back?
