LEADER: Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord. People: Hosanna in the highest! LEADER: With boughs in hand, join the festal procession up to the horns of the altar. People: You are our God and we exalt you. LEADER: Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good People: His love endures forever! LEADER: Hosanna to the Son of David! People: Hosanna in the highest! LEADER: Today Christians all over the word celebrate Palm Sunday. LEADER: They remember the crowds who went before Jesus as He entered Jerusalem riding on a donkey LEADER: They proclaimed their hope that their King and Savior had come, and shouted ALL KIDS: “Hosanna” -- “Save us now.” People: Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest! This is Jesus the prophet from Nazareth in Galilee. (Matt 21:9-11) LEADER: It was the hope of those who celebrated that this indeed was the Promised One, come to fulfill the words of the prophets. People: Rejoice greatly O Daughter of Zion. Shout Daughter of Jerusalem. See your King comes to you, righteous and having salvation, gentle and riding on a donkey.” (Zech 9:9) LEADER: We know now that Jesus was indeed the Promised One and that He would make us whole and set us free LEADER: We know now that within one week of His triumphal entry into Jerusalem, Jesus would die on a cross so that we could be forgiven and set free. LEADER: We know also, that three days later after His crucifixion He would come alive to mark His triumph over death, and so that we would be able to experience new life, eternal life. People: Praise, O servants of the Lord! Praise the name of the Lord! Let the name of the Lord be praised, both now and forever more. (Psa 113:1) LEADER: From the rising of the sun to the place where it sets, praise the name of the Lord. ALL KIDS: Hosanna! People: Hosanna in the highest!
