2 Peter 1:2-5 (NLT)
2 May God give you more and more grace and peace as you
grow in your knowledge of God and Jesus our Lord. By his
divine power, God has given us everything we need for
living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to
know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his
marvelous glory and excellence. 4 And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires. 5 In view of all this, make every effort to respond to God’s promises. Supplement your faith with a generous provision of moral excellence, and moral excellence with knowledge,

Make every effort to respond to God’s
Word!By being doers not just hearers.

James 1:22-25 (NLT) 22 But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves. 23 For if you listen to the word and don’t obey, it is like glancing at your face in a mirror. 24 You see yourself, walk away, and forget what you look like. 25 But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it.

How we respond to the Word?
1) Look carefully
2) Do what it says
3) Don’t forget what you heard

Luke 17:14 (NKJV)
“So when He saw them, He said to them, ‘Go, show
yourselves to the priests.’ And so it was that as they went,
they were cleansed.”

Luke 5:5 (NKJV)
5 But Simon answered and said to Him, “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.”

Matthew 14:28-29 (NKJV)
28 And Peter answered Him and said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water. 29 So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus.

James 1:26 (NLT)
26 If you claim to be religious but don’t control your tongue,
you are fooling yourself, and your religion is worthless.

How do we respond?
1) Look carefully
2) Do what it says
3) Remember what you heard
4) Control what you say
